When former Navy SEAL Liam O'Brian joins Legendary Securities, he looks forward to being shipped somewhere exciting for his first mission with Levi and his crew. Instead, he learns exotic and enormous aren't exactly synonymous when he stumbles upon the oversized pachyderms inhabiting his new backyard. Still, conflicts are universal and Liam's troubles are only just beginning once he finds himself falling for a woman deeply rooted in her family's livelihood and problems.

Go-getter Lilianna Howell is a biologist who believes all problems can be reduced to minor ones if only they're nipped in the bud early enough. When her dad can no longer deal with the loss of his son and his detachment threatens the elephant reserve, Lilianna steps into a much larger role, handling the marketing and fundraising. Being close to her sister and her husband--once Lilianna's fiancé--forces her to struggle with distrust from that past experience and a growing attachment to a man who appears in her life like a dream come true.

Mammoth issues escalate as Liam and Lilianna team up to save the gentle giants, their newfound love… and their own lives.

This delightful suspense, centred in and around an elephant sanctuary, grabbed me from the beginning and kept my interest until the final pages. Liam and Lilianna are wonderful characters, who worked well together and supported each other. The storyline was well-developed and had some interesting secondary characters. I loved this one.

Unraveling the lies to protect those that need it most...

When life leaves you reeling in grief and hurt, you can momentarily switch off from the everyday details occurring around you or you can fight back. For Lily and her twin sister, they plow themselves into work - the running of their Elephant Sanctuary. For their Dad, it’s a switch off from reality. What happens when minor things start to go wrong? So much so that those little details in work, life, and family start piling up and then spiraling out of control. That’s when you notice things aren’t what they seem and you have to fight back.

This is what is happening to Lily and her beloved elephants in her families care. When you cant solve it on your own, that you seek outside help to uncover what’s happening. Exposing lies leads to a threat of danger that Lily never imagined in her wildest dreams.

Newcomer to Levi’s team, Liam is finding his place inside the close knit security team. His first assignment isn’t at all what he expected. Like the true professional’s that Levi’s team are… they are focused and determined to rectify wrongs. Loaded questions and investigating key players, It doesn’t take long for Liam to start unraveling the lies amongst family to protect those that are starting to become more to him.

Dale delivers you a fairly fast paced story, that is set in a beautiful, private Elephant sanctuary. The closeness of the elephants to their carers is so special… and touching. Makes you smile out loud as these gentle giants show how they show care. Captivating!

If you love page turning drama, intrigue and love solving a mystery - then Dale Mayer delivers with LIAM’S LILY. When trouble really starts to develop, you can always count on your team, your friends, your family to have your back when you need them most. A well written story, highly recommended for those that love a military based hero but love solving mysteries and the intricacies of family even more. This can definitely be read as a stand alone book but like any good series, there will be recurring characters from previous books. If you haven’t already… you may want to start your journey at the beginning of the HEROES FOR HIRE series, for a more developed understanding of the character dynamics.

With Liam’s Lily, Dale Mayer once again finds an unusual and intriguing storyline for this new instalment of the Legendary Security saga.
At first glance, the book setting, an elephant reservoir in Texas, may look odd and out of place. Instead, it becomes a welcome, and a little ironic, variation of the stereotypical Texan cattle ranch. The descriptions of the pachyderms, their reactions and their behaviours, give life to some of the best scenes of the book.
The plot is rich, with plenty of rapidly changing situations, surprise twists and new developments. It is also filled with a slate of both familiar and new characters. As expected, a relevant part in the story is played by the Legendary Security team and their friends. As usual, their team spirit, their sophisticated skills and generous and noble personalities enlighten and give energy to the narration.
Every one of the other side characters is carefully depicted in their personality traits and behaviours, thus engaging and captivating the reader.
Lilianna, the heroine, is a fresh and lively character. Her physical image of a tall, decisive woman hides a sensitive and caring soul always trying to see the good that lies within every individual. She is grateful for having had the possibility to dedicate her life to her elephants, in the secluded paradise that her father has created for them. When she is forced to face evil, however, she reacts with energy and decisiveness, asking for help, taking action, and maintaining a rational and effective approach despite her highly emotional circumstances.
The male protagonist, Liam, is a new recruit at Legendary Security. He shares many of the personality traits and the professional profile of all the other members. In addition to that, he is a caring, understanding individual with a positive approach to life. He is a steady presence, helping Lilianna and her father face the difficult situations they find themselves into.
Overall, Liam’s Lily is an action packed story with unusual touches of sweetness and a fresh, engaging plot that will please all Dale Mayer current fans and surely earn her many new ones

Reading is my great escape and a way to relax. Dale Mayer has a way of pulling you into the book and living in someone else's life for just a little while.

Lillianne Howell is a biologist and is currently working for her Dad's Elephant Sanctuary and is having some problems that she thinks are only to do with the online donations but when Liam and North arrive and start asking questions and the answers quickly point in a totally different direction she is astounded and heartbroken. BTW she has a twin sister, Brianna who is the total opposite of Lillianne.

Liam O’Brian is a retired Navy Seal and newly employed by Legendary Securities who is sent out his first job to seek out problems going on at End of Days Rest Home, the elephant sanctuary. Which quickly turns into more that anyone had imagined.

There is a quick electric attraction between Lillianne and Liam which quickly turns into something the two want to explore it further once the fund raising problem is settled.

There is lots of family dynamics involved when it is discovered that Brianna has seemingly been impersonating Lillianne and doing some really shady things including but definitely not limited to creating a situation where her father is being kept drugged at his assisted living facility while trying to manipulate legal issues regarding End of Days Rest Home.

This book has action on every page which will surprise and amaze you so grab yourself a copy, settle back and get ready for the ride. Dale Mayer never ceases to entertain.

I am such a fan of the Legendary Security team! I so enjoy their no-nonsense approach to solving problems and righting the world's wrongs wherever they find them. In this installment, newly-hired Liam and North head just a couple hours south of their Texas HQ to an elephant sanctuary that is being attacked online.

The sanctuary is run by Lilianna, the daughter of its founder, and she has no idea who or what's behind the recent attacks on their funding and online reputation. Liam and North start asking questions, shaking every possible branch until the truth starts falling out. And what a twisted, corrupted truth it is! This problem ends up being so much bigger, going so much deeper, than Lilianna ever could have imagined. Through it all, Liam is by her side, helping her confront the harsh revelations, keeping her safe, protecting the sanctuary, and bringing the villains to justice.

As the action heats up, so does the undeniable attraction between Lily and Liam. Their romance was like watching a flower bloom in the desert, so much beauty in the midst of so much trauma. It's insta-love at its finest - no doubts, no conflicts, just pure, honest love shining through.

Lilianna is my kind of heroine, soft-spoken but willing to stand up for what's right. Liam is exactly what heroes are made of - steadfast determination, quick to figure out the problem and run headlong towards the solution. They're perfect for each other and their HEA was beautifully done. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

As this book opens Brandon and Kasha arrive and get to say hello to Liam before they ship out again with Rory. Liam and Nelson however are heading to an animal reserve in Texas. Levi has gotten involved at the request of Gunner, who was contacted by one of the daughters of the owner.

There's a lot involved here and the only one who isn't pleased about their appearance is Brianna. Lilianna is the one who called Gunner and her sister doesn't want them there at all.

It seems at least part of the key is Lilianna's father, Jim Howell, and the condition he's in since his son died in a fire. The visit they make suddenly becomes extended, with Gunner providing a new specialist and lawyer to Lilianna. It seems the family lawyer has been in the process of doing the paperwork required for Brianna to have general power of attorney. Lilianna just has POA over her father's medical care.

Now as much as these events get interesting right from the start it's the events of the next morning that will have you turning the pages faster. With the discontinuing her father's medications he wakes far more lucid than he's been in months.

As more people show up in her father's room Lilianna and Liam begin facing the challenges of the day. Lawyers, Specialists and Gunner get more involved and a visit from Brianna is just what you'd expect.

I couldn't put this book down as this all unfolds and the attraction Liam and Lilianna have for each other cumulates to something more.

Complete with a bit of a conversation that North has with Ice as the lead in to the next book, North's Nikki.

Former Navy SEAL and single guy Liam O'Brian has just joined Legendary Securities and has been looking forward to his first mission to somewhere exotic - however he ends up going to an elephant sanctuary - however it is in Texas just 2 hours drive away. However his troubles have only just started when he starts to fall for a woman who is right in the middle of her family's livelihood and problems. Lilianna Howell is a biologist with a firm belief that every problem just needs to be broken down into smaller ones to solve them. Her Dad has lost his way after the death of his son and so Lily has to step in and perform a much larger role for the elephant sanctuary while her twin sister and husband (who is Lily's own ex-fiance) were to take over the office and financial side of things. However large issues escalate and and Lily and Liam have to work together to get to the bottom of them and fix it before the elephants lose their home.

This was a lovely story of how two people united to save the elephant sanctuary and get to the bottom of a mystery that had many twists and turns on he way. As they became closer it was charming the way they slowly realised that there was more between them and that when they had the time they could concentrate on their own happiness. The story was well written and very enjoyable. I definitely found myself reading faster and faster as I got further into the book. Definitely a nice light read that I found very enjoyable.

Liam’s Lily is the fourteenth book in Dale Meyer’s “Heroes for Hire” series. Each book in this series can easily stand alone. However, since characters from other books in the series continuously appear in later books, it is a lot more fun if you read the books in order.

Liam O’Brian, a former SEAL joins Legendary Securities and is immediately sent Texas to help Lilianna, a biologist and the owner of an elephant sanctuary.

This is such an enthralling suspense that I found it very difficult to put the book down. Ms. Mayer takes the reader on one wild roller coaster ride from the beginning to the end. There are many tragedies that are averted at the last minute, and many clues that lead us to the wrong person.

The best part of the book is the relationship between all of the seals. In every Dale Mayer’s SEAL book. Ms. Mayer skillfully creates wonderful friendships that allow the reader to feel the chemistry, respect and love between all of these men. I am always smiling whenever they are helping each other or, just plain, old talking.

The relationship between Liam and Lilianna is also enjoyable to read. They start out just working together, and their obvious respect for each other, eventually, leads to something more.

I was definitely surprise when I found out who actually caused the trouble and why.

Cowboys herding elephants.

The story is fast paced and a lot of ground is covered. Lily has called in help because the elephant sanctuary she manages with her family has been verbally attacked and funds are dwindling. She is very naïve and trusting in many things but she gets her backbone when things begin to unravel and her twin sister is involved.

Liam has been called in along with his partner, North, on his first mission with Legendary Securities. Liam is a protector and he sticks with Lily like glue. He helps her unravel all the mysteries and he has a unique perspective throughout the book. He becomes the voice of reason.

Lily's father has been out of the picture since his son died and has been in a home where he has been unresponsive for six months. Lily really has no one to fall back on. When Liam visits Lily's father with her, he finds more questions than answers, and Lily's sister seems deeply imbedded as well.

I liked the book and the small amount of interaction with the elephants was interesting. I had hoped for a bit more involvement with them and the compound. Liam was steady and sure and he was very open about his feelings for Lily. They were an unlikely match from the beginning but the heat was there.

Once again, an exciting tale you will follow and be on the edge of your seat.

I was kindly provided this book as an ARC; in exchange for my honest review. This book is number 14 of 15 in the Heroes for Hire series. As usual I’ll recommend that readers read this series in order so that all the characters & nuances are understood. It’s not critical, but is helpful.

Liam’s Lilly centers around Liam O’Brian a “retired” Navy Seal & recent addition to Levi & Ice’s Security company; loosely named, Heroes for Hire and Liam’s “interest Lillianne Howell, a biologist that works & supports her fathers elephant sanctuary. (Dream job).

Levi sends Liam & North Dockter (ha, name is for real...) out to Lilly’s sanctuary due to some “strange” occurrences she’d noted that seemed to be sabotaging the sanctuary. The story evolves in a sad, slightly obvious way; but still has a bit of a mystery & a terrible conspiracy that sadly happens far too often in families... Money the great & necessary evil..

In the end, the good guys win; the beautiful elephants are saved (best part are the elephant hugs - loved that!) I’ll say this story was as is expected from Ms. Dale. Well written & the ending didn’t seem overly rushed. Enjoy (truly the elephants are my favorite part!!)

As one of the two newest (and still single) additions to Legendary Securities, Liam is trying to find his place in the group. When he has a chance to join a team to work with an elephant sanctuary, his dreams of jobs in exotic places take flight. Alas, the elephant sanctuary is actually located a two-hour drive away in Texas. Following the death of their brother Keith two years ago and their father’s extreme physical and emotional decline, twins Lilianna and Brianna are now running the sanctuary. Someone has begun sabotaging their donation web page and making mischief that has resulted in cut feet for their elephants and dogs. Logan (Book 6, Logan’s Light) has known the family for several years, and his father, Gunner, has been a generous donor. When Lilianna shares her concerns with Gunner, he contacts Levi for help. Liam and North, the other new member of Legendary Security, are sent to the sanctuary to assess the situation and become involved, as you would expect from reading the Heroes for Hire series, in some very interesting dynamics in keeping the elephants and the family members who love them safe. Great read!

Legendary Security is a company owned by Levi and Ice. The company is made up of ex-Seals who take on all types of cases from terrorist plots to drug deals gone wrong. After leaving the teams, the ex-Seals just want to stay active using the skills they've learned. Before Liam leaves on his assignment, Levi tells him "Just keep an open mind— and heart— and you’ll be good.” Everyone but Liam knows what the comment refers to. If you haven't read any of the other books in the series, you'll understand as you read the book. . When someone is trying to ruin the reputation of the elephant sanctuary that Lilianna and her family own, she asks a friend for help. He contacts Levi’s Legendary Security who sends Liam and North to investigate. Once they started their investigation, I couldn’t put the book down. While Liam and North get to the bottom of the trouble, it’s Liam who provides the emotional support Lilianna needs. When North asks why he never gets the girl, Lilianna responds, “Next time”. I can’t wait for his book and learn who he falls for.

While I normally adore anything that Ms. Mayer's writes, this one didn't do much for me. I really struggled to keep reading this one. They don't normally take me three days to read but this one did as I kept putting it down. The only character that I connected to was Liam. His is an absolute sweetie. I didn't get Lilianna at all. Her character totally frustrated me. Like when Liam stepped out of her father's room to take a call. She expressed her feelings of not liking that. North explained it all perfectly well and she agreed. When Liam stepped back inside the room after the call, Lilianna again expresses her dislike. Come on!!! She was also so naive and a complete push-over and then always feeling guilty. She wouldn't stop and learn from her mistakes.

As to the romance, I really didn't feel a connection between the two of them until the end. Yes, I love having a story to go along with the romance aspect but there wasn't hardly any romance to this book. I am thrilled that North is getting his book next though.

Every time I read Dale mayers books they always bring a smile to my face. I love the characters she writes about, the alpha military man with the equally fearsome woman. In this book we meet Liam, friend to North and a few others on the team. He is sent with North, at the request of Gunnar to help out a friends daughter who runs an elephant sanctuary. Lily’s dad is in a nursing home after he lost his son 2 years ago, she is left running the sanctuary whilst her identical twin runs the financials.

Something weird is going on and the donations are way down. So once Liam and North descend on the sanctuary she goes to see her dad. Pieces of the puzzle start slotting into place as it’s a race against time to find the paper trails as to who and why a power of attorney is being sort. Can Liam and legendary security find the people responsible? A fantastic book and I think may have found my new book boyfriend........again ha ha ha

Once again this author delivers a read with suspense, a hot alpha man and the woman who steals his heart. Liam is sent to an elephant sanctuary to investigate claims of sabotage but finds out more than anyone ever suspected. Lilianna is looking after the sanctuary with her twin sister after her brother’s death and her father’s decline in health, so when she notices discrepancies with the donations she turns to Logan who is part of Levi’s team who sends Liam her way. What they both discover is not only a mutual attraction but a sinister plan to force her and her father out. Can they unravel the mystery who’s behind it all ?
A great read with a bit of steam, twists and turns, suspense and some action. I love these reads as the author doesn’t need drama between the couples, the drama all around them keeps me turning the pages. The attraction is instant and neither of them are chicken or try to run away or deny the feelings...refreshing. Can’t wait for next one !!

Liam's Lily by Dale Mayer
Heroes for Hire Series Book Fifteen
Liam O'Brien has been at Legendary Security for about a week when he and North are sent on assignment. He thought he'd be traveling to exotic places for jobs—not two hours down the road and still in Texas. Although, an elephant sanctuary could end up being exotic.

Lilianna Howell's life had changed so much in two years. Her brother died in a fire, she lost her dad, mentally...not physically, after Keith's death. And then her twin sister did the unimaginable, most selfish thing ever... And now, someone is sabotaging the sanctuary and its donations. She never could've imagined how her life would change just by telling a family friend she needed help.

I really enjoyed this story. Action, suspense, who-done-it, and of course...romance. And so real life as to how things can happen right under your nose but if you aren't looking for it...you never see it.

Liam is next on the list to fall in love while on assignment and what an assignment it is. He and North go to an elephant sanctuary two hours from Levi's compound at the request of Logan's father. There are things that are going on there that just don't add up but Lilliana just can't figure out what. To make matters worse he brother died in a fire two years ago and her father retreated so far into himself that Lilliana and her identical twin Brianna had there father placed in a care facility.

There are so many twists and turns here that I had to read the book the whole way through. Lily is thought to be the weaker twin but when things heat up she shows that she isn't as meek and mild as people think she is. Liam protects her in typical alpha male style. They are perfect for each other.

I loved the fact that Lily's father owns the elephant sanctuary. It was a neat chance of scenery and they elephants sounded so sweet. It made me want to visit a place like that.

Great addition to the series. I look forward to reading more.

Oh, Yeah!

Liam is such a sweetheart until he’s not. He can be tough and unyielding when faced with challenges he is good at meeting.

This story has the perfect storm; twins, one soft, loving and good, one selfish, haughty and bitchy. Then it has an oh, so sour, ex-wife! As the story unfolds, I couldn’t read fast enough. Mysterious and maddening combined to make a complex and fantastic storyline. I loved the element of the elephant sanctuary and the descriptions surrounding their needs. I guess anything can be done in Texas!

I loved the dynamics and differences surrounding the twins which make for quite a mess. The drama and medical issues with their father are very much unfortunate real life circumstances in many families today. The good thing is, they don’t have Liam and Legendary Securities to help unravel the danger and deceit surrounding this family.

This story is heartwarming and exciting and has a fantastic HEA! Excellent job! I loved it!

An enjoyable, albeit predictable, story. After books in Heroes for Hire series, and SEALs of Honor series previously, the storyline and the characters’ main traits became almost the same. Predictable is not a bad thing though. I knew what I’d get when I started this book, and it’s exactly what I got. If you looking for a quick and ‘safe’ read, then grab this one.

So, as one of the newest member in Legendary Securities, Liam and North were tasked to investigate strange occurrences in Lilly’s family’s sanctuary for elephants and help them solve through it. Though the root for the problem was as old as time, there were some touching moments. Animals always do that for me. In the end, Legendary Securities did it again and the guy got the girl. The end.

I was provided a complementary copy by the author / publisher, but this in no way influenced my thoughts or opinions.

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:

I LOVE these Heroes For Hire books! They give me a way to escape reality and take me on crazy, exciting adventure. And Liam's Lily takes me on a new one that I instantly got lost in and one that had my heart thumping madly inside my chest. It was thrilling and romantic with just the right twists and action that kept me on my toes! Liam and Lilianna are wonderful characters and just seemed to be made for each other. They reminded me of two perfect puzzle pieces that fit with ease.

The book was a really great read. I finished it in little over a day and I fell in love with the page-turning plot and the delectable romance and the heart of the story. It had plenty of suspense and action that added an extra beat to it that was just as appealing. Perfectly done!

Liam's Lily gets a SENSATIONAL FIVE GLORIOUS STARS!

The death of her brother has left Lily’s family fractured. Her father has been unable to handle the loss and has retreated to his own world which leaves the running of the elephant sanctuary in the hands Lily and her twin sister. Someone is sabotaging the sanctuary which is causing a decrease in donations and negative publicity so Levi sends Liam and North to find out who is behind it.

From their initial encounter Liam is drawn to Lily in a way he hasn’t felt before. As they investigate the suspicious activity it brings them closer and leads them on an adventure filled with drama, twists and suspense which takes them in a direction neither could have anticipated.

These two are perfect for each other as they are both strong and independent and only want to help others in anyway they can. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Liam's Lily

WOW! Dale has done it again! The story is about new to Levi's team, well actually two newcomers doing the job together - Liam and North. Lillianna called Gunner with help for her elephant sanctuary but when the guys get started, they discover a lot underlying causes for the funds drying up - mainly her twin sister and her mother. Things go downhill quite quickly once things are out in motion but yet the good news is her father makes a miraculous recovery. Lillianna finds out her sister, mother and ex-fiance decided to sell the sanctuary without Lilly's knowledge. Things get to the point of intense before the culprits are caught and arrested. Once they are neutralized, Liam and Lilly work on their happily ever after. FANTASTIC job Dale! I would recommend this book.

Intrigue, betrayal and embezzlement, plus the usual suspense are in abundance in this latest story from Dale Mayer. It is fast paced and exciting, the subject matter of rescued Elephants is touching but I feel important, I hope there are sanctuaries for big animals like these because it is a real issue. The characters are extremely loveable, the guys are hot and very protective. Lily really needs someone on her side, to back her up and give support, she has been through a lot and is getting a bit desperate. Each story in this series is different and interesting, you would think after 15 books that the plots would start getting a bit samey or boring but that isn't the case at all, I look forward to each new one coming out. Loved it.

Going to an elephant preserve in Texas wasn't what Liam expected as one of his first assignments. Lily has asked for help with some unexplained things that are happening at the reserve. With Liam's help, she realizes there are bigger problems at the reserve. At first, Lily doesn't seem very strong to me, but she grows throughout the book. I received a copy of this book from the author through Booksprout. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This is a very good romantic suspense book and series. I like this book very much. I am glad that it was told from both Liam's and Lily's point of view.

This fast-paced romantic thriller kept me entertained and intrigued from the first word to the last with great characters and a can't-put-down story that kept me on the edge of my seat. I absolutely can't say enough good things about this series. I love the characters and how they interact with each other and how they are so supportive of each other. I love how each book goes in a different direction. This book had an elephant reserve and the elephants seemed like part of the family. Loved how the characters were so involved with them and how they were the focal point of the book. The characters Liam and Lily were so interesting and made for great reading. I really loved this book and look forward to the next book in the series!

When Liam joins Legendary Securities, he is looking forward to excitement and travel. As a former seal, he doesn't consider Texas and an Elephant Sanctuary thrilling at all. I actually felt bad for him in the beginning. However, as he and I both found, there can be a lot of adventure found anywhere especially when Dale Mayer is creating the story. Lilianne, a biologist, is up to her ears with problems that keep multiplying. This is another great suspense/romance that kept me up till all hours as it was difficult to put down. These characters are engaging with strength, honesty and loyalty abound. I love these stories and am really looking forward to North's adventure.

I enjoyed parts of this story but ended up skimming through a lot of it. There was a lot of dialog that just seemed to go around and around without any real directions or just repeating things that had already been discussed, it took an awful long time to get to any point and things were a little unrealistic in places. Modern senior care facilities have a very stringent set of rules and regulations to follow concerning strong medication, and there are usually more than one type of doctor seeing to a patients care, so I found that part of it a little silly.
I loved the elephant retirement home idea, I truly hope such a place really exists!

Liam, the new guy on Levi's team, is sent on his first assignment in Exotic...Texas! Lilys family owns an elephant refuge. Things aren't going right, but she doesn't know how not right they are! After the death of her brother, her fathers health declined and her twin sister and she took on running the sanctuary. But the funds are drying up and somebody is slandering the sanctuary. Lily gets in touch with her fathers best friend and things get real! This is a story full of intrugue that you will enjoy very much! Oh and the love is there!

Liam is one of the newest guys on Levi's team and is sent out to a sanctuary for elephants that is experiencing problems at the request of Gunner. Lilianna is running the place with her sister while her dad is sick. As usual, there are lots of twists and plenty of action and even some romance that keep this book super exciting. Liam proves he fits the mold well as does Lilianna. I can't wait for North's book to come out, the little lead in for his sounds like the excitement will be oh so good! I volunteered to read this book.
