Warrick Canton works with Mason's Navy SEAL team and he's going stir-crazy on the sidelines while he heals from an ankle injury. He longs for a relationship like the ones his buddies have, but, after his girlfriend of three years dumps him just when he thinks they're solid, he struggles to believe it's possible. He's invited to a backyard barbecue at Mason's house, where he meets up with the spitfire he's met before and knows won’t give an inch. Warrick is intrigued, even though the she-devil won't stop arguing long enough to get to know her.

Penny Magnus loves her job as a clerk in the medical insurance offices, but trying to get stubborn men to fill out a few forms properly isn't her idea of a good time. With a fiery personality, Penny's open to starting a new romance but absolutely not with a difficult man, even if he is gorgeous. Her best friend got herself in an ugly relationship and had to ask Penny for help in escaping him.

Now, just when Penny and Warrick are calming down enough to actually connect, her friend's boyfriend contacts her. He blames Penny for the mess she created when she tore the love of his life from him. 3.5 sweet thrilling stars.
A man who's looking for relationship and a woman who's looking for the same thing, sounds like a match made in heaven, like everything will going so smoothly, but nope, this couple really push each other button from the get go, arguing and arguing, she has temper and he loves to rile her up. Yeah it might be not a lollipops and rainbows relationships, but it's a exhilarating and full of sparks relationship and throwing in crazy gunman that's going to test their love.
It sure has page turner story, although I felt the problem was easily solved, considering it took so long to catch up the bad guy, and then suddenly another problem pops up that I found it a bit weird. So...sadly this one is not my favorite but I loveeeee the couple and all the banter and those sweet moments.

If you're looking for romance with a hint of enemies to lovers story and some dangerous atmosphere, you might like this one.

For rather a short book, it was jammed pack with action and drama with some romance between the action scenes. This may be book number 16 in this series, however it’s my first read of the Seals of Honor series.
Well written bantering between the main characters always adds amusement to a plot. Penny and Warrick’s first couple of encounters aren’t too friendly. After basically calling a truce at a BBQ, they are quickly drawn into a hostage situation. From that point on, they are inseparable, until Penny is kidnapped. Warrick will do what it takes to protect Penny, even if that means disobeying a police order and running with an injured ankle.

‘He could wait for eternity until the right woman showed up if she was anything like the pugnacious terror in front of him.’

Author Dale Mayer is a prolific writer best known for her Psychic Visions and Family Blood Ties series and her SEALs focused novels. Her contemporary romances are raw and full of passion and emotion (Second Chances, SKIN), her thrillers will keep you guessing (By Death series), and her romantic comedies will keep you giggling (It's a Dog's Life and Charmin Marvin Romantic Comedy series). To go with her fiction, she also writes nonfiction in many different fields with books available on resume writing, companion gardening and the US mortgage system. She has recently published her Career Essentials Series.

Dale has a real sense of military tactics and jargon and that is one reason her SEALs book are so immediately accessible as well as genuinely tender and suspenseful. She sets a mood about her title character so well in the Preface that we are with him from the start – ‘Warrick Canton picked up another box of toys, shook his head, looked down at Joshua and said, “This is a lot of toys for one little boy.” Joshua danced in place. “No, it’s not.” He grabbed a small box beside Warrick. “Come on. I’ll show you my new room.” Warrick chuckled and followed the little boy. In the ensuing weeks, with all the chaos and recovery behind them, Joshua was a whole new child. He no longer went to a private school and didn’t seem to mind. He attended the local public school and was settling in. It would take him a bit, but he was young and resilient and had a lot of good times ahead of him to wipe out the bad memories. His father was in jail and wouldn’t be out anytime soon. The trial was scheduled but wasn’t for another year. In the meantime, Joshua hadn’t asked very much about him. Apparently he’d been awake and had seen his father try to shoot his mom. That had been too much for him. They’d explained quietly what had happened, that his father had done something very bad and was in jail. Joshua had just nodded. Once he realized he would be staying with his mom, he was fine. When he later heard Corey was moving into their new home with them, Joshua got really excited. And he’d seen plenty of Corey and Warrick. Even Mason had stopped by. Joshua had seemed pretty thrilled by all the men. It was a good life for a little boy. He would grow up with real men as role models—not assholes who used others for their own gain. And Joshua smiled all the time. The same off-center smile as his mother. Warrick was happy for Corey, yet enjoyed being single right now.’

Dale takes this heartwarming opening and develops the plot as follows: ‘Warrick Canton works with Mason's Navy SEAL team and he's going stir-crazy on the sidelines while he heals from an ankle injury. He goes on a rampage, targeting Penny--only he's thwarted by one big, badass warrior standing firmly in his way, protecting her. All he needs is for Warrick to make one tiny mistake…’

Solidly crafted with an innate sense of military commitment, Dale writes these novels well indeed. There is a reason why she is a best selling author!

Warrick, the new episode of the Seals of Honor series, is, as all the other books from Ms. Mayer, a fast paced, action packed novel with great male characters and intriguing and captivating female heroines.
Each episode is characterised by a unique theme, that makes the storyline original, fresh and really enjoyable to read.
This time, Ms. Mayer dwells around a key question: what if a person that considers herself “average”, and feels really good about it, suddenly meets one of the heroes of the adventure novels in real life?
Penny, the heroine of the book, has a norrmal job, that she likes and takes very seriously, and leaves her enough time to dedicate to her hobbies and to quite a few volunteers activities. A friend of Tesla, she meets Warrick, a member of the Seals of Honor team at a backyard barbecue. Their characters clash immediately, but when Penny is involuntarily involved in a hostage situation, she reluctantly accepts Warric’sk protection. Penny is suddenly immersed in Warrick’s day to day reality of violence. She refuses to accept these events as normal, and counteracts Warrick’s rational and experienced approach with the common sense of a “normal” individual, that still believes that human beings can be honest and good hearted. When the possibility of a relationship with Warrick arises, she has to decide if she can accept a partner that has a life so different from hers.
The introduction of this anti-hero theme in a series dedicated to military heroes is self deprecating but profound: Warrick, same as his friends and colleagues, is a generous, brave and very smart human being, dedicated to defending his country, but part of the price he has to pay for it is the struggle to build solid personal relationship not just because of the nature of his job, but because it becomes very difficult for other people understanding the events of his life and accepingt them.
The exchanges between Penny and Warrick are particularly witty and funny. Together with the banter between the Seal’s of Honor team members, they enlighten the otherwise very serious theme making the novel light, fresh and very entertaining.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Opinions and comments are solely my own.

What a blast!

Taken down by a petite, feisty, cute, red-head! I love it! Warrick is a big man and has a huge heart to match, but he snaps and growls when it comes to filling out insurance forms for his ankle injury. This is a very real situation in today’s world. So is a young or old, red haired female, known for having a temper!

I enjoyed how Warrick never gave a thought about helping Penny deal with her best friend’s abusing ex. It’s just part of who Warrick is to help people. He finds himself sort of conflicting for it to be Penny.

Penny enjoys her job which is also helping people navigate through the confusing claim forms required to be filled out in order to get insurance coverage for injuries. She knows this is very difficult for most people and helps whenever she can, except for Warrick, who shows nothing but animosity every time he brings his forms in to her filled out incorrectly. I love the interaction between these two. Yes, insurance claim forms are a pain to fill out but one would think a highly skilled warrior such as Warrick, would know to ask for assistance when faced with something as important as his insurance forms!

Penny and Warrick are kind of opposites in personalities but they somehow fit together. The attraction between them is immediate and I enjoyed their acceptance of one another despite the difficult circumstances and the danger with Nina’s ex. Penny is an innocent thinking she could be a target when all she did was talk Nina into leaving an abusive relationship. Warrick is there to keep her safe and protected despite her unwillingness to see the danger.

Warrick becomes Penny’s savior when she needs it most despite the pain and further injury he has done to his leg. I loved the way this story was written for Warrick to see and realize he has the patience to live his life and sooner or later he will find his own special someone. Most guys deny needing a forever soulmate but Warrick knows it’s true of himself. He is a keeper for sure. Penny has the feisty personality to keep him on his toes!

Excellent job! I loved it!

When helping a friend leads to more than what you ever expected…

We were introduced to Warrick in Dale’s previous Seals of Honor book - COREY… and gained a wonderful insight into Warrick’s character. He certainly lives up to his persona.. Tough, loyal, a gentleman, and that kindhearted man, who can be deadly when that moment is called upon. He will need to exercise extreme patience while dealing with the frustrations of healing from an injury sustained while Seal training and dealing with the tedious task of medical/insurance forms.

His long term relationship has ended, injury and it’s frustrations have him at odds and loose ends. A compelling, firecracker of a woman, who gives him grief at every possible turn snares his attention as does the loyalty she shows her friend in need.

Penny was a breath of fresh air in attitude and spark. While at first her constant argumentative attitude is a little unusual and appears rude, especially to a client… I believe you’ll figure her out as her story progresses, to understand where that attitude originates.

It’s when helping a friend who’s in serious domestic trouble, that brings you more than either ever expected or even wanted. As the intrigue escalates and lives are at stack - that’s when the real development of feelings unfold. Refreshing to see this relationship develop, especially with attitudes/temper that can be quick to ignite at the slightest words being misunderstood. Patience, learning to listen clearly and communication are key elements for this story.

Dale delivers a page-turning drama, that is often depicted in real life, when dealing with the ramifications of domestic abuse. A wonderful weekend read through - highly recommended for those that love military based heroes and the women they protect, that capture their attention and love. It’s always wonderful to have team members when you need help. Not only are they a team, they are family and will have your back no matter what.

SEALs of Honor- Warrick

This is another exciting story in the SEALs of Honor with Warrick finding love with the one person he was constantly arguing with ,Penny. She was the clerk in the medical forms department that he could not seem to fill out properly. Finally he was told by his teammates to just ask for her help filling them out so he you get his ankle looked out by additional doctors so he could get back to his unit. While she was helping him he asked her to have coffee and the police came looking for her to help with a hostage situation since the gunmen was her friend Nina's fiance and he was asking for her. She had convinced her friend to leave him after he was beating her up and constantly being abusive. He tricked Nina to talk to him and he ended up breaking her ribs before she escaped and was at the hospital. She went but Warrick accompanied her and would not leave her side when the police asked her to talk to this gun welding maniac. Warrick ended up jumping George and disarming him all the while wearing his immobilizing cast on his ankle. The police put him in jail but naturally he escaped killing his guards and taking their guns. Now Warrick had to ask Mason a SEAL unit leader what and where he should take Penny to keep her safe and asked Tanner to help him out. This is where their exciting love story really starts as they as drawn closer together trying to evade Nina' crazy ex. and he starts killing more people to get to Nina and Penny. It was amazing how they eventually took George down and rescued Nina only to have Penny kidnapped by George's gambling loan starks. Working with the police, Warrick and Tanner saved Penny's life and got her to the hospital. This was an amazing story and Warrick joined Mason's keepers with his love for Penny. I cannot wait to read Tanner's story next as this entire SEALs of Honor series has been fantastic.

Warrick needs to file his medical forms to continue treatment for the ankle injury he ignored and that is now keeping him from participating in the team’s training missions. Penny needs his forms done correctly before she can submit them for him. After three unsuccessful tries to get the paperwork done, sparks fly and verbal sparring escalates. Both of them are frustrated to say the least. Everyone else in their group can see that they’re unknowingly prolonging the tension because they are attracted to each other as only two people with short fuses can be. Just as things begin to improve between them, all hell breaks loose in Penny’s life and Warrick steps up to help her. At Penny’s advice, her coworker Nina has decided to break off her relationship with her physically abusive fiancé, George, who has gotten in trouble on the naval base and then proceeded to hold Nina hostage at gunpoint in her hospital room. George threatens to hurt Nina and the hospital staff if Penny refuses to convince Nina to return to him. Warrick insists on going with Penny to Nina’s hospital room and overpowers George. Happy ending, right? Not yet, keep reading.
Fueled by his need to get Nina back and punish anyone who helped her, George escapes from police custody, killing two police and the friend who took Nina in when she left George. The police are on a frustrating chase as George goes after Nina and Penny, losing him in every pursuit. Warrick is driven to protect Penny, who is determined to help Nina. Tanner has a few days off and comes in as back-up for Warrick and Penny, both to protect them as the police search for George AND to help diffuse their hot tempers. The action just doesn’t quit. Another great SEALs of HONOR novel by Dale Mayer.

Warrick Canton is in Mason's Navy SEAL team and is going crazy being on the sidelines through injury. He is also starting to turn soft longing for a real proper relationship like his mates seem to have. This is made worse when his girlfriend of 3 years dumps him. Feeling sorry for himself he goes to a barbecue at Mason's house and encounters a fiery redhead spitfire called Penny Magnus who he unfortunately already has met - he's intrigued but only she would give him an inch and a second look. Penny Magnus loves her job as a medical insurance clerk but getting some stubborn men to fill in the forms right is almost impossible. She is open to starting a new romance but it has to be someone who is not difficult - she has learnt that from her best friend with such a difficult relationship that Penny had to help her to see she needed to get out of it. However all thought of potential romances go out of the window when Penny's best friend's boyfriend contacts her blaming her fr the whole mess and seems determined to punish her for it. Warrick ends up working to keep Penny safe - he just needs to not make any mistakes.

Wow - there is a lot of drama and action in this story. You have the best friend and her boyfriend thing, the simmering hot passion bubbling under the surface between Warrick and Penny and then the determination of the ousted boyfriend to punish Penny for her interference. It all adds up to a mixture of drama, danger and action, interspersed with bits of romance and passion that can make you smile. Well written and fit into the whole world of SEALs that the author has created in this fictitious company with its links to serving and non-servicing SEALs. Well written, an easy read which would work well for a vacation read or just pure escapism.

One would think that by the time book 16 in a series comes along the author has run out of ideas and it seems to be the same old same old. Ms Mayer definitely knows how to keep readers coming back for more as same old same old does not happen here. There is definitely domestic abuse in the world and this is the theme of the book. It's also about Penny who refuses to let her friend and hospital staff bare the brunt of the abuser's agitation and aggression. She doesn't have to do this alone though as, she has intrigued and caught Warrick's eye by being a stickler for perfection when she makes him repetitively complete the medical forms time and again, for his injury on duty. When she gets into trouble he is ready to stand by and support her and help her resolve the issue at hand. The two, irritate and wind one another up as well as press each others buttons all the time. It's rather quite funny even though the current situation is quite serious. The nook is fast-paced, has just the right amount of suspense with a number of twists and turns and at the end of the day Penny and Warrick find they appreciate each other and are attracted to one another more than they initially thought would be possible. A really good book and, one will probably start reading as well as finish it in a sitting. It's just as good if not better than the other books in the series and if you enjoy Seal trained and very special alpha men who give it their all and, the strong women who attract their attention you, will thoroughly enjoy this book.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

My discovery of Dale Mayer’s books is fairly recent. Because of this, I have not yet read all of her early books in the many different series she has written. However, this has not hampered my understanding and enjoyment of the books that I have read.

Seals of Honor: Warrick is the seventeenth book in Dale Mayer’s “Seals of Honor” series. It is the story of Warrick Canton and Penny Magnus. Penny is being chased by a disgruntled abusive husband. She had advised the abused wife to leave her husband, and he wants to kill her as revenge. Warrick acts as her bodyguard while his SEAL teammates attempt to capture this man.

One of the things I like most about Ms. Mayer’s books is that they are not formulaic as are a lot of novellas that are a part of a series. Also, in spite of its length, the characters are skillfully crafted and well-rounded.

In fact, Warrick and Penny are realistic characters who, continuously, rub each other the wrong way. In spite of that, there are plenty of sparks flying between the two of them.

I also enjoyed the plot and how the characters acted and reacted toward each other and their circumstances. Also, even though we know who is chasing Warrick and Penny, there is still a lot of action with many twists and turns that easily captivate the reader.

This enemies-to-lovers romance was a lot of fun to read!

Warrick and Penny butt heads every time he tries to submit his medical/insurance forms to her office. Their mutual animosity is thinly-veiled attraction, which only becomes apparent to them right before a crazed gunman targets her and her friends. Their banter as they try to stay one step ahead of the killer is absolutely wonderful, and their forced togetherness tears the veil away and allows for their intense attraction to ignite. Their romance is hot, fast, and deep, and exactly what they both needed.

Warrick is still recovering from an injury, but his sudden possessive protective instincts for Penny keep him focused on keeping her safe, no matter what. These SEALs of Honor are never better than when they're fighting for the women they love, and Warrick is just about the hottest one yet. Penny is a little spitfire, not the least bit willing to back down and allow herself to be coddled, but even she comes to appreciate the security that Warrick and the rest of his team can provide.

I loved getting to know Tanner, the last lone wolf, and look forward to reading his story next. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Entertaining and gripping read, it has suspense and a car chase, it also has one very feisty female. I loved Penny's fire and take no prisoner attitude, it was refreshing. She is not all gushy and meek by any shape or form, a real match for Warrick. He doesn't know what to make of her at first but soon falls under her spell meaning her safety comes before anything else including his own health despite how frustrating that is. Even though the plot itself is serious and tense I still found myself having a bit of a chuckle at these two when they started into one. Penny is also determined and not one to sit back and just leave her life up to fate and hope so will do anything she has to when events are against her, she isn't going to just sit and sob, she is a real fighter and in more ways than one. Warrick doesn't stand a chance. I sat and read this in just a few hours, I didn't want to put it down. It is well written and thought out, the plot itself is quite a fast pace but interesting and holds the attention of the reader. I really enjoyed it and look forward to the next book up in this series.

As always Dale Mayer gives us a really great military read with great characters, strong heroines with twists and turns in the storyline that you don’t always see coming. Warrick is injured and has a cast on but he is having trouble with the paper work. They always say third time lucky...... right? It doesn’t seem so as he come upon Penny who works in the department where his paperwork has to be filed. Everyone calls her a sweetheart and how helpful she is when it comes to paper work because she helps them. Warrick doesn’t see it somehow.

As they square up to each other and seem to get under each other’s skin, Penny’s friend is in hospital but her ex isn’t taking no for an answer. As a hostage crisis ensures and the ex is calling for Penny to changes his ex’s mind, it seems Warrick and Penny like each other. There is more at work than her friends ex though as dead bodies of 2 policemen and a women turn up and Penny gets kidnapped. Can Warrick and his team save her before it’s to late? Will they get a HEA? A fantastic read from start to finish. Well worth reading the series

Another keeper in the SEAL’s of Honor series and this time it’s Warrick and a feisty red head, Penny, who is giving him a hard time with his medical forms. Warrick keeps messing up his forms for his injured leg and is frustrated with Penny, which only boils over when both are at a bbq and they have words. Warrick tucks his tail between his legs and finally asks for assistance, which Penny gladly gives but when a crazy abuser targets one of her friends and she’s caught in the middle, it will take Warrick, injured or not to save her.
Another great read and this one is full of laughs and a bit of steam. These two were like oil and vinegar in the beginning, their banter having me chuckling, with both Warrick and Penny being able to give as good as they got...which I loved !! Not only that but the suspense and action is all there with more than 1 tense moment where their lives are in danger. A definite page turner and another great addition to the keeper series...can’t wait for more !

Another great addition to this awesome series. Ms. Mayer doesn't disappoint in the amusing tale between Warrick and Penny. Warrick is hurt and doesn't take well to being on the side lines, to top it off he can't seem to get his paperwork "filled out properly" for "Ms. Ball Breaker" Penny. The interactions between the two are sure to make you smile as you watch this bazar flirting/ mating dance between these two characters. Everyone says Penny is a sweetheart, but Warrick isn't buying it as he would never relate that term to the red headed spitfire who tests his patience. I loved the storyline, it moved quickly and even though it did not have as much action as others in the past it still was filled with drama, danger and a deraigned bad guy. Great characters that were easy to relate too and I loved getting to see the rest of the gang. The story was fast paced, easy to follow and keeps your attention right to the end. I always enjoy Ms. Mayer's books and I look forward to what's to come.

If healing from his ankle injury wasn’t bad enough Warrick is finding that completing the insurance paperwork is a nightmare. After his paperwork is incorrect for the third time he isn’t shy about letting Penny, one of the employees, know his feeling on the matter and he only gets more irate when he finds out from his buddies that she will usually help people fill out the forms.

Penny may be petite in stature but not in attitude. The next time she sees Warrick is at a barbecue at Mason’s home where she agrees to help with his paperwork and they put their differences aside. When her best friend’s abusive ex wants revenge against Penny, as he holds her responsible for her friend leaving him, will the team be able to keep her safe?

This story is filled with drama, suspense and romance. I really enjoyed the characters as Penny’s feisty personality was a good match for Warrick’s protective side.

Warrick by Dale Mayer
SEALs of Honor Series Book Seventeen
Warrick Canton has watched most all of his friends find their soul mates. He had been staying out of relationships himself. Since the breakup of his long-term relationship, he stepped back to decide what he really wanted.

Penny Thornton had the temper to go with her red hair and the big, handsome hunk who couldn't seem to fill his medical forms out correctly had that temper on high. Until her life turned into a nightmare of life and death—then she couldn't be happier to have the hunk as her protector.

The SEALs are falling by the boatload—falling in love, that is. And with a little help from Telsa and Mason...Warrick might just be the next one to fall out of the boat into the sea of love...once Penny can stop worrying about a gunman on the loose.

This is just what I expect for a book in the Seals of Honor series. Everyone on Mason’s SEAL team loves Penny except for Warrick. He doesn’t understand why she helps everyone with their medical forms but not him. Everyone thinks they will end up an item, and they end up being right. One of the things I like about the books in this series, is the way there is always turns and twists in the action. You’ll think that the action is over, but then something else happens and the action begins again. Every time I was going to put the book down, I would read a few more sentences and then I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. If you’ve read the other books in the series, I’m sure you’ll enjoy reading about Warrick. If you haven’t read the other books, this is a standalone book and reading this book first in the series is not a problem.

Another book in the SEALs of Honor series by Dale Mayer. Unlike her previous books in the series, Warrick and Penny didn’t start as friends. They started as ‘enemies’. Not in the real sense of course, but the argue a lot, clashed of personality, and so on. As Penny entangled in dangerous situation, their feelings bloomed, and there might be hope for them both.

Although in term of relationship the characters were a bit different, the storyline in the suspense part was quite same old same old. Not that it’s not good. It still good, just not so differ from previous ones. But hey, if you looking for a good fast read, with enough action, enough feeling and enough hotness, the go for this one. You couldn’t go wrong.

I was provided a complementary copy by the author / publisher through Booksprout, but this in no way influenced my thoughts or opinions.

Warrick is frustrated. Not only with his injury but also with the paperwork he keeps getting wrong. Everyone says how nice and how helpful Penny is but she seems just the opposite to him.

After having another bout of this is wrong, he heads to Mason's with Tanner for one of their great Friday barbeques. There he's about to get a surprise, in the form of a red-headed spit fire named Penny.

Oh the giggles as Warrick apparently stakes his claim with Penny. These two are a hoot.

As these two start a relationship, Penny's efforts to help her friend and co-worker Nina, results in some unexpected and scary consequences.

Warrick is determined to keep Penny safe and help the police with this, in spite of his injury.

Fast-paced and scarily realistic, with fun, laughter, romance and some sizzle blended in.

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:

Warrick, the newest SEALS of Honor story by Dale Mayer was intoxicating, thrilling, and exciting! I do so enjoy a great romantic suspense and I always feel that Dale Mayer delivers one hell of a story each and every time.

Warrick is the kind of hero I could easily find myself wishing existed in real life. He is protective, he is caring, and wants a relationship. Penny is passionate and has a strong personality and seemed to be right match for Warrick. These two had the perfect chemistry and there was plenty of action and great sex along with sweet, decadent romance that made this book a heck of a fabulous read!

Warrick gets a SUPER EXCITING FIVE BIG GOLD STARS!

Dale has done it again with this book...SEALs of Honor #16. I have loved every book in this series since it gives us a different episode of what's happening within the group and introduces us to a new member and gives us their story.

This book is filled with excitement, danger, kidnapping, twist, turns and will keep you turning the page because there is action on every page. Plus the chemistry between Warrick and Penny is not to be overlooked and you will get lots of laughs as these two butt heads.

I loved the addition of Warrick and Penny to this group and also getting another glimpse of the characters from past books in this series.

Grab yourself a copy of this book and settle in for a phenomenal read. You won't be sorry

I loved this fast-paced SEALs of Honor read that kept me entertained, intrigued and glued to the book from the first word to the last with unforgettable characters, witty dialogue, action, suspense, and heartwarming romance. I really liked feisty Penny Mangus, medical insurance office clerk, and her dynamic with Warrick Canton who works with Mason's Navy SEAL team and going crazy on sidelines while healing from an ankle injury. Ms. Mayer is a master at military romance and I was turning pages faster than ever to see what would happen. I can't wait to read her next book in the series about Tanner, the newest member of Mason's group. I received an advance reader copy of this book from Booksprout and this is my unbiased review.

I was excited to read Warrick's story after having discovered in the last book that his girlfriend had broken up with him, yet he was having to deal with his friends finding their loves. The gentle giant's story starts with him being sidelined by an ankle injury and having to deal with repeatedly filling out paperwork (mostly incorrectly). Loved the humor of their coming face-to-face at one of Mason's backyard barbeques, especially since Warrick's friends have been telling him what a sweetheart Penny is. These two characters are definitely made for each other. The storyline does include domestic abuse but it is handled with a balance between being too dark/depressing and being taken too lightly.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

I just loved this book. It has been awhile since reading the last book and the author put the epilogue of that book in as a prologue in this book. That really helped him to reconnect with the character, Warrick. I loved the relationship development between Warrick and Penny. It was really believable. The plot was beautifully written as well. Before I knew it the book was over and now I'm looking forward to Tanner's story. Ms. Mayer is really gifted with story-telling. I could read these stories all the time and not get bored. The plots in each are so amazing. I highly recommend this book to anyone.

I was kindly provided this book as an ARC; in exchange for my honest review. This book centers around Warrick & Penny. Warrick is a SEAL with a fractured ankle; Penny is a clerk at the medical clinic. Not much back story to be honest, but storyline moves quickly. I still have a problem believing the “insta-love”, but hey if it sells...

Anyway, Penny convinced a friend (Nina) to split from her abusive boyfriend George & the drama unfolds from there. A few of the characters from previous stories appear namely Mason & his wife Tesla. I can’t say the story or ending were unexpected, so if you want a quick easy read give it a shot.

Once again Dale has written a great book! I am so in love with this series that I hate finishing a book because I don’t want to have to wait for the next one to come out! The characters are so real. The storyline keeps you turning the pages and you end up with a book hangover as you don’t realize time has flown by because you are so engrossed! I love how characters from the other books in the series pitch in to help the main characters. If you like suspense, action and romance you will love this book!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another good one. Dale Mayer just keeps spitting out the stories and they are all interesting and different from each other.
Warrick is a Seal who is healing from an ankle injury and Penny works in the medical forms office. He continually fills the forms out incorrectly and Penny continues to berate him for it.
When Penny's girlfriend is abused by her boyfriend and ends up in the hospital and breaks it off with him he blames Penny and holds hostages in the hospital and demands Penny come to the hospital. Warrick is not letting her go there alone and goes with her. He becomes her protector and from there their relationship becomes romantic.

I would recommend this book.

Here's another heart pounding SEAL finding a connection in the last place he expects. Warrick is sidelined with an injured ankle and frustrated with not being part of his team's activities. He meets Penny on his 3rd or 4th trip to turn in paperwork that he keeps filling in incorrectly. Penny may be petite, but she is huge in fighting for what is important to her; whether it is paperwork or friend's being abused. The latter is what starts the story for this story as a maniacal man blames Penny for losing his wife. Non-stop action and sweet romance flow nicely through this wonderful book. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
