Levi Hamilton can’t do a relationship right now. The hotel hookup he stumbled into was fun, but back home, things are complicated. He's just been surprised with custody of the five-year-old son he's never met. Fighting fires at work and tantrums at home doesn't leave time for dating.
And if he can’t shake a certain someone from his system? Good thing the one-night stand that rocked his world happened out of town. After all, what are the chances he’ll ever run into Inigo again?
Other than figuring out how to keep his business afloat, Inigo Triggs has a pretty sweet life: partying with friends on his roller derby team, plenty of concerts for mosh pits, and easy hookups. Maybe it's getting a little monotonous, but it’s not like he's ready to settle down… especially not with a guy whose phone number he didn’t even get.
A man who doesn’t even live in the same city.
A man who Inigo’s got to stop thinking about, because there’s just no way he'll ever see Levi again… is there?
Again! Again! is a steamy, standalone gay romance novel with no cliffhangers.
I love roller derby and always jump on any book featuring the sport. Those parts of the book were very enjoyable and I liked the plot about adjusting to raising a child.
However, the side plot with a nasty ex took up spaces where more of the love story could have developed and didn't work for me.
This was my first book by Zach Jenkins and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I really liked Inigo and Levi. They met in a hotel when Levi is picking up the five year old son he just discovered he had and Inigo is being stood up. Although they hit it off, they both thought it was a one night stand. Meeting by chance again they started a slow sweet romance.
Quite a realistic M/M romance with all the complications of real life, family and finances. The H/h relationship is hot, and I liked how they had normal real world struggles.
One of the main characters, Levi, is bi, which normally I'm like "yay!" but there is so much confusing language just in the first 10% of this book and it wore me out. It may be lovely! I am too tired to find out.
"He had slept with plenty of women and men over his thirty-five years on the planet, but he had never once met someone he had considered settling down with. He had always expected that it would happen someday, he supposed. Things would just click with one of his partners and change his worldview entirely, like in the movies, assuming the partner happened to be a woman."
I guess this is supposed to mean that in the movies that click is typically depicted between a man and a woman, not that Levi assumed that click would only happen between him and a woman?
"I was worried you'd said Tinder, and I'd projected my own gayness on the conversation."
Well I do know bi people who talk about their gayness as part of who they are, so okay, Levi is one of them?
The other MC: "So, what's a handsome, gay guy like you doing in a place like this?"
And Levi's going to correct the mis-labeling in... oh, wait. He doesn't.
I loved Again! Again! by Zach Jenkins. It's the first book in the Fox River Romance series. I loved the characters and the storyline. Levi is a firefighter who learns that he is the father of a five-year-old son. He ends up staying at a hotel overnight when he goes to pick up his son from the social worker. At the hotel, he meets roller derby player Inigo who had been stood up by his hook up. He ends up hooking up with Levi instead because why not it isn't like they live in the same town, or do they. I loved the chemistry between Levi and Inigo, and I loved when they watched the princess bride together. If you like Zach Jenkins' other books, then I recommend reading this one. I know that I enjoyed reading it. I think you will too. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Charming romance. Indigo and Levi had a one night stand. Never thinking they would see each other again. Levi just found out he had a son, so his focus was on being the best dad. Finding Indigo again was an added bonus. This is just a sweet story of courtship, falling in love and the ups and downs of getting to know someone when forming a relationship.
Great characters that you just can't help but root for.
Again! Again! Was a quick read that just dragged me in and wouldn't let me go until I finished it. Both MC are great and likable but at the same time very real and facing their own troubles that keep them interesting. Till the very last page I found myself rooting for them.
This one is funny, with likable characters if not so believable situations. As happens too often, the sex scenes detract from the story line and contribute little to the development. The other events and interactions are what makes you keep reading to find out the conclusion. Entertaining but silly.
I love that one was a single dad as I am a single mom. It’s hard. But I love how supportive the other guy was. He was so sweet too. Overall a great read.
The story of Levi and Inigo is filled with all the struggles of daily life and the surprising roadblocks that often fall in the way. It starts with a one night stand. Levi needs a stress reliever, and Inigo is disappointed at being stood up. Later, a chance meeting throws the two together again. As the relationship heats up, both men fall victim to their own self-doubts and the struggles of everyday existence. Levi's discovery that he has a 5-year-old son complicates things as he learns to be a father while at the same time abandoning his resolve to stay away from committed relationships. Inigo owns a struggling business and is working through relationship issues of his own. Zach Jenkins does a masterful job of bringing the two together and weaving in Daxter, Levi's son. If you like a story filled with lots of tense moments that resolve into a HEA, this book is for you. Highly recommended.
Others seem to like this book quite a lot. I thought that the characters' actions were a bit unrealistic. Levi as a sudden parent - trying bribes and placating ... and the resulting tantrums was realistic. The other guy stepping in and fixing things with not knowledge or experience with small children, not realistic. Overall, I just didn't enjoy this book. I didn't like how much of the interactions between the MCs were focused on having or talking about sex while they both said/thought they wanted a long term relationship. I didn't like how the dynamic with the son was described. I just plain didn't like they story :(
// All these ridiculous books by new “authors” needs to stop!! Publishers or sites like Amazon that allow self-publishing really need to be stricter about who they let publish books! Just because you’re a fan of the genre and can string two relatively decent sentences together, does NOT an author make (not a GOOD one at least)!!
This book ... it was obnoxious, nonsensical, the friends were props, the characters were caricatures, and the plot was all over the fucking place!! I have NO clue HOW people are giving this book high ratings but I am guessing they're incredibly new to the M/M genre and have not yet read a REALLY GREAT M/M book; one that's written the way an M/M book [or ANY BOOK] is supposed to be written!!
If you're intrigued for more insight, take a gander at my updates!! They're not polite though, so if you're blindly loyal to this author, you might not want to read them!! Just saying!
Side note: OH and this author does something annoying and obnoxious! He lists the chapter numbers on separate pages from the start of a new chapter; I'm assuming to get more page views, since he's on KU!! Cheap and pathetic trick!! Not cool, author, not cool!!
Levi Hamilton feels he will no longer have room for romance in his life. He is a firefighter and now learns he has been a father for 5 years. He knows adding a child to his life will not leave him much time for romance. When chance lands him in the path of Inigo Triggs, Levi jumps at the chance to have a hot night before taking on his new responsibilities. Inigo is not looking for anything more either. He enjoys partying with his roller derby team and mosh pits at concerts. Both men are sure they will never see each other again, but they also cannot seem to forget that magical, very hot night together. It should be the last they see of each other, or is it?
Again! Again! is a fantastic story of two men connecting and thinking nothing more can come of it. How wrong they are! Learning to make a life which includes each other and a little boy is challenging for both men. Add in love and anything is possible. But communication is the key. If you enjoy MM romance with a few obstacles in the path to love, then Again! Again! is for you.
I loved this book. Zach Jenkins did a great job developing the main characters, Levi and Inigo. I felt like I really knew both of them, the good and the bad. One of the things that I really like about this author's writing is that it is realistic. Love is not always unicorns and happiness. A relationship takes work and communication, which he shows in this story. A five year old boy that has his mother die, spends time in foster care, and then is sent to live with a stranger, who is his father, who did not even know he had a son. I thought that he did a great realistic job with that. This story is one that I laughed with, cried with, and yelled with. It also has its steamy hotness that I enjoyed. Then, it is such a wonderful story. Once I started it, it was so hard to put down. I voluntarily reviewed this advance copy, and I highly recommend it.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Levi and Inigo. Levi learns that he has a child that he has never met before. That night he also meets Inigo. Levi wants is all but isn't sure that is an option for him now that he has someone new in his life. Inigo is looking for a little fun not a new family but there is something about Levi that he can't forget. He wonders is he ready for something more or should he just move on?
This is an amazing story about navigating life when it throws you a curve ball. There are some ups and downs that I really want to tell you all about. There is so much I want to tell you about but I don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say I would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone.
Holy crap this one was good! Normally I'm not one for stories with kids in them, I find that a lot of the time the focus changes too much between the kid and parenting and the couple and their relationship. This had the perfect mix of the two. It shows how people can adapt their lives in ways they didn't know they needed for love and the chance at something real. Honestly, I thought for a while that Inigo was going to make them crash and burn, but they made it through. You can even see the development in the child Daxtor as he learns that not every adult is going to give up on him. This was a wonderful story which I will probably be reading again... that being said about how amazing the character development was... DAMN the sex was hot! I mean like fanning yourself kind of hot! Yum!
Hot, passionate, intense and a so romantic journey to finding your soulmate. I loved the character development and the care that was taken with each man to make them authentic and realistic. I enjoyed this authors writing style and as with his previous books, I became immersed in the story and read it in one sitting.
Levi and Inigo have such an amazing connection and I loved how they allowed fate to bring them back together. Each one would find something that they found unsettling and they would work through it and figure out how to be a couple. Relationships are a struggle and I loved that these men talked their way through their issues and loved their way to their HEA.
Inigo and Levi meet up in a bar and have a splendid one-night stand, never expecting to see each other again. Both are left pining for more so when they do accidentally meet up again, they start tentatively dating. But Levi has a kid and Inigo worries about his business surviving so it’s not quite plain sailing.
But ye gods this was fun to read! Levi and Inigo are no horny teenagers fumbling around but guys in their prime (Levi’s 35 and Inigo early forties as I recall) and know exactly what they want. The sexy bits were wonderful, full of laughter as much as the actual action. All in all, very wonderful and look forward to more in this series.
This is a lovely story about 2 men making the most of an unexpected meeting. Seeing one another in a hotel lobby far from home wasn't how Inigo had expected to find a date, but when his own stood him up he wasn't going to turn the hunky stranger down. When a few weeks later they meet again, realising they have some friends in common, making a relationship is a possibility, but with Levi a new Father and Inigo low in self esteem, they need the support of their friends and one another to make the relationship work. A lovely story, especially when I read it on Father's Day.
Levi is a bisexual firefighter who is suddenly surprised with custody of a five year old son, Daxter. Before he can officially being his unknown son home, paperwork has to be resubmitted ASAP. While he is at the hotel he meets Inigo, a Mohawk sporting roller derby captain, who has been stood up by his grinder date. He mistakes Levi for his date, and they decide to have a no strings one night stand. There weeks later they run into each other at the roller rink, never realizing they lived in the same state and has some of the same friends. Are they both mature enough to have a real relationship that includes a five year old child?
Oh man, I gotta dive in and say, there were a few parts I had re-read just so I could laugh out loud again. Sure this book may have had some very minor flaws, I think it needs a better title and the main characters were a bit immature for their age. But it was actually quite charming.
I also think this book was very close to being a standalone. For the most it is, but there were a few characters who were already paired up with each other that had me wondering.
Nonetheless, still a fun read. Especially with 2 main characters who still had a lot on their plate to deal with.
i loved Inigo's story. I have been waiting for it since we read the short story on him and Levi. So, both guys were afraid to scare the other one off and it was so cute to read. Their chemistry was immediate and great. I loved the fact that Inigo was gonna get his family that he wanted and Levi got a love he had been longing for. Great story. I received an ARC and voluntarily read it for an honest review
Levi and Ignios (sorry about the spelling) are one of those couples that fate brings together. Add Daxter in and you have all the ingredients for a family to form. It is not an easy road but it is amazing ride. We also get to catch up with old friends while meeting new ones.
I couldn’t take Inigo anymore. He a 42 year old man child who wears a Mohawk and hangs out in mosh pits at heavy metal concerts. He’s immature and impossible to like. Levi, on the other hand, is amazing and deserves someone who will support him rather than this idiot who’s so insecure he keeps shoving alcohol at him while reminding him to be angry at the world.
What a fantastic book! Zack knocked this one right out of the ball park with his humor and hot steamy bedroom scenes! Love, Love, Love Regan Ann, wish she was mine and didn't have to grow up and act like an adult for a long time! Inigo and Levi are a perfect match from the very first. Make no mistakes, this is a feel good story that has a HEA. So totally worth buying this little gem!
Typical romance novel, except by a male author about a gay male couple. Obviously the sex scenes were different than in a MF focused romance, but otherwise it was very formulaic. Evil ex-boyfriend of one partner was a silly and useless addition; supportive group of male friends and a friendly single mom neighbor added to the "we're just a regular couple" vibe. Fine for an Amazon freebie!
Well I've read everything Zach has written and I must say..the boy knows what he's writing. This book has it all. Funny and serious moments that have you yelling at your kindle. Just loved it. Highly recommend.
A nice sweet read were a chance meeting and hook up lead to an unexpected relationship. Throw in a newly found kid and a stalky ex and you have a very satisfying book.
I found this book to be so boring for the most part. I like the author and I am sure I will try future books but this one is too boring. I did like Dax although I did not understand why he was such a sweet little guy for Inigio but not his newfound father.
