Billionaire Buchanan Romance #1

Coerced: Blackmailed by the Billionaire

Rate this book

Nobody says no to billionaire Sutton Buchanan.

Nobody with a survival instinct or an ounce of common sense, anyway.

That’s because he’s a cruel, ruthless bastard who will stop at nothing to get what he wants – including the curvy blonde artist who just gave him the brush-off.

Elizabeth Downing is desperate and time is running out. Her one chance at landing an exhibition at the Covington Art Museum has been shot down in flames. The shy, insecure artist can’t give her art away, much less sell it. How was she going to continue supporting her disabled sister, without selling off a kidney?

Unfortunately for Elizabeth, her family tragedy is Sutton’s opportunity. Sutton makes Elizabeth a shocking offer that no good man would ever suggest. But Sutton has never pretended to be a good man.

Now he’s going to own her — body and soul.

He’s going to push past her limits.

He’s going to see where her breaking point is.

But he won’t make the same mistake his cousins made by falling in love with his plaything.

Elizabeth’s about to find out, the words “love” and “mercy” aren’t in Sutton Buchanan’s vocabulary.

Great story about a bad boy and a good girl!

This was a super sexy story about a billionaire bad boy and a struggling artist with disabled sister. Elizabeth is trying to keep her sister in a good facility now that the government will no longer subsidize the payments since her sister is turning eighteen. I completely enjoyed the story of billionaire Sutton Buchanan who is quite the ladies man and likes to tease his married cousins who used to be just like him but who he now sees as completely at the mercy of their wives.

Vince didn’t pretend to care. “Nolan will be pleased to hear it. He says you’re a bad influence.”
Sutton shrugged. “I’ll accept that as a compliment.”
“You would.”
“If your pretty wife hadn’t lopped off your balls and stuck them in her Birken bag, you would’ve too.”

When Sutton sees a pretty woman leaving a new art gallery that his family purchased in tears, he makes it his business to find out why. He finds out the manager turned Elizabeth away because she has curves and didn’t fit his idea of what one of their artists should look like. She was crying because she needed the job to care for her disabled sister since her parents had died a few years ago. So Sutton decides to make her an offer she can’t refuse.

I generally am not too into stories about curvy girls when they call themselves fat or if they dwell too much on the weight issue. But this book didn’t really do that. Sutton had a designer come and fit Elizabeth with a new wardrobe and she immediately sees herself differently. Elizabeth had in the past hated shopping for herself but once she found the style of clothes that worked with her body type she started to feel much better about herself. It also didn’t hurt that Sutton was wildly attracted to her and other men looked at her in the more attractive clothing.

I like when books like this show such a positive image and don’t dwell on the curvy girl thing. The romance between Sutton and Elizabeth was extremely steamy and the way he fought his feelings was awesome. Especially considering his comments to his cousins. I loved the balance of humor and romance in this book. It was a very good story!

If he did not cheat her, I'd have given 4 stars because of his assholeness, alas he did! 🙄Even if he did to prove himself that he did not love her with a prostitute and it was an oral sex, I hated that!

Apparently this book is the beginning of a spinoff from The Buchanan Brothers series. I believe the author ran out of brothers and decided to bring the East Coast and West Coast cousins together in this first book of the new series.

What a book. Good to the last drop!!

Elizabeth was a starving artist trying to continue the support of her autistic sister who lived in a wonderful facility that aided in helping the young girl deal and cope with her autism.

Elizabeth was at a dead end financially and had some hard choices to make. No longer capable of continuing to pay for her sisters care, she was forced into a contract with a man who wanted only one thing from her.

Man, I didn't think I could like a romance without the aggressively dominant Alpha that I love so much. Don't get me wrong, sutton was Alpha, but after meeting Elizabeth he didn't know which end was up from down.

I loved it and I want to read both the west coast and east coast series.

I suffered through 90% and

I'm ashamed I kept going that far. But the cover is so hot. It should really be forced to change to something lame like this story. Because I think it's why I kept trying.
The dudes not an alpha. Not fifty shades. Just a dick. Even with 90% of the bk read. And no sex scene should describe ejaculation as cream and then include the word ambrosia in the same sentence. Just no. The holidays are around the corner. Thanks for that.

This is a book for mature readers as there's a lot of delicious hot scenes throughoutAnother absolute favorite book by Alexx Andria! I love the way she captures details in the characters edgy daring ,and has you craving for more!! Sutton Buchanan a millionaire born into wealth never having to actually work for it, his family had taken care of that before his birth. He gets what he wants , and he knows it. But this isn't the typical billionaire romance so don't roll your eyes. This is something naughty provocative enticing and of course a stick it to you in the gut feeling because he is someone you probably won't like and will have you gritting your teeth or cussing at the book more then once trust me! Elizabeth a plain Jane type woman loveable but she has some issues with her image . She's a fuller figured woman, a trying artist that has had a rough time in the past years her sister has autism , and she can't take care of her. With her parents gone she's all she has.. Her art doesn't get a second look, doors shutting everywhere...totally opposite from Sutton Buchanan . Being the snake he is..he takes advantage of the situation after another door gets slammed in her face...a One in a Million Offer! But does taking a deal with a devil have consequences? Absolutely! Will she do anything for her only living family member depending on her? Definitely! Because Elizabeth is unselfish..she will do anything to keep her sister in the care she needs..even if Mr Sutton has the final word..why? Because it pleases him so.. this is a book about what money can do ..rules that don't apply to all, and also trust..Being hurt so badly that you think everyone is untrusting selfish and cruel...But even if you're completely different..in so many ways..that also can cause a dangerous attraction, one that may cost one of them everything they ever thought good, or one of them everything they were taught isn't always the same about all.. Different people cut from different cloths in different worlds... this book was my attraction I couldn't put it down I had to know what happened, and I'm so glad I did!! I would give it a 10 if I could ! I was given a copy of this book for an honest review

This isn't my usual type of read, but I like looking outside of my little box every now and then. I am really glad I did this time.

Ms. Andria was able to to tell a story of someone who lives basically in poverty and another person who was born with the proverbial "silver spoon in his mouth" and bring them together in a not so good way, but turn it into something good. At first I didn't think this story was going to be for me, but once it was revealed why there is such a mix of feelings, well.....the rest speaks for itself.

Great job Ms. Andria!

Elizabeth Downing is a struggling artist. Her hopes of showing at the Covington Art Museum just went down the drain and to top it off, on the way out she runs into a very handsome man, talk about embarrassing. This was her last hope of finding the money to support her disabled sister. Looks like she is going to have to go to extreme lengths....like sell a kidney.

Sutton Buchanan always gets what he wants. Any way he wants it and when he wants it. So when a curvy blond artist just brushes him off, he decides to start a new project. He wants the curvy artist for his new play-toy.....his pet. He wants to own her and he will pay her well for it. No attachments, just business. Finding out that she needs money makes this so much easier for him.

Elizabeth is shocked that Sutton Buchanan would approach her with such an offer. Even more shocked that she is going to do it. This was so not her, but she had to think of Gretchen, her sister. She would do what she had to to make sure that Gretchen could stay at Rising Dawn. It is just a business agreement after all. Nothing emotional and she can still work at her art.

Will another Buchanan fall or will Elizabeth walk away, just like every other woman has done? After all, women can't be trusted.

I am new to Alexx Andria, I was so curious what kind of book this was list on ..but it says nothing about being funny? Am I the only one that found this to be a funny read, not all of it, not like funny ha. ha!! ...but there are so many hilarious moments, or maybe the better word is sarcastic humor? dry sense of humor? any who. I will be checking out more from Alexx soon enough, I took me a bit to find this book to review it ... apparently the cover has changed? it was a wild goose chase indeed! on a tame to holy hotness scale ... this book does have a lot of steam ...not sure Elizabeth liked every single moment though??! ha. ha! I love her humor ...or whatever word you wanna input there ...she doesn't take the cramp from Sutton. He has a lot of jerk-ness in him. Business suit and all. Trying to take care of her sister & earn a paycheck. Oh, i did find this on Amazon when Free, you might wanna go see if it still is FREE?!! who doesn't love a free read?!! ( ;

Kindle freebie.

It's listed as book 1 in a series but there are so many secondary characters mentioned from other books that I'm assuming are part of another series.

Hero basically blackmails heroine into signing a contract to be his "pet" for as long as he wanted her to be. In return, he'd give her money to help with expenses for her autistic sister who is in danger of getting kicked out of the establishment that her parents found for her before their death. Heroine agrees.

Hero tells her that it's just business but the day he starts feeling it's more than business feelings he has for her, he goes to a bar and lets "Gemini" give him a BJ in the back office before he heads off to the apartment he shares with the heroine.

Heroine is devastated. Hero is pissed because he never promised her fidelity in their "arrangement" and she had no right to feel devastated. He stays away from her and their apartment for three days because he doesn't know how to fix what he purposely messed up.

Grovel could have been more than it was, IMO.

Debating if I want to search out the previous books or even look for the next books in this series. Will have to think about it.

Enjoyed this a lot.
Only one thing kept bugging me and that was how Elizabeth kept going on about being 'chubby/fat/large'. It was obviously a big deal for her (excuse the pun) but I didn't feel like being reminded about that all the time added to the story. Just my opinion.

2.5 Star read

Story type: Contemporary, Erotica, Wealthy/famous

Storyline: This is the story of Elizabeth and Sutton. Elizabeth is a struggling artist that parent died leaving her to care for her sister who is a nonverbal and sometimes violent girl with autism. Sutton bumps into her storming out of the gallery that his company now owns in tears and decides that she will be his new project. He propositions her to essentially he his sex slave for funds and securing her sister in the home that she is threatened to get kicked out of in a few months when she turns 18. They have major chemistry and end up developing feelings for each other. Sutton fights those feelings at every turn but eventually they find their HFN.

POV: Third person with focus on Sutton and Elizabeth interchangeably.

Overall Pace of Story: Good until the ending where I feel like it was a rush to conclude it all.

H rating: 2 stars. Sutton. He wasn't all that like able to me. He was kinda a jerk for the most part.

h rating: 3 stars. Elizabeth. I did like how she was feisty at some points.

Angst level: Low. No tissues required and little drama except Sutton's hang ups.

Heat level: High. I labeled this as erotica because I feel like it was more about the sex than the connection between the characters.

Sex scene with OW or OM:

Cheating:

Possible Triggers:

Closure: This book does end in an epilogue, but I would still classify it as a HFN instead of a HEA because of how abruptly it all finished up...don't feel too secure in the strength of the relationship.

This can be a stand-alone, but I recommend reading all of the Buchanan brothers books by Alexx Andria, Bought by the Billionaire Brother's series.I love the Buchanan men. I have read all of this series and all of Alexx's books. She writes fast placed highly addictive books, they are very well written, as was this book. This is MY honest review!!!! Sutton Is billionaire with the attitude, if I want anything or anyone, I can have it because I have money to buy it or them!!! I wanted to hate him because he's a cocky rich, hot jerk, but he was so hurt and wounded I couldn't help but love him and route for him to find himself the real him!!!( He needed a smack to the head, a few then a big hug!!!) Then he meets Elizabeth a shy, innocent and naive artist, who is in a desperate situation, she needs money( a lot and fast). Her parents are dead and she is left to care for her disabled sister, who's care is expensive and she has til the end of the month to pay. BUT HOW?? Sutton finds out about her situation and wants to OWN HER at any cost, body and soul, so he makes her an offer even she can't refuse to save her sister.Sutton doesn't realize he can use her body but he can't have her thoughts and feelings. This is not a simple story and the details and ending will surprise you...... so read this book for all the details!!!! Wish I could give more than 5 stars!!!!!

This story is a fast-paced, happily ever after, love story. It's very light and well written in that aspect.

Sutton and Elizabeth are from two different worlds. Sutton is a billionaire and Elizabeth is a struggling artist with an autistic sister. She is in desperate need of funds for her sister's constant care. Elizabeth enters into a mutually satisfactory contract with Sutton. She becomes his pleasure toy and he in return he will assume responsibility for her sister's care. Of course the arrangement is anything but simple.

I gave this story four stars for two reasons: Elizabeth is not tall and model thin. She is a short, curvy, feisty chick who bought a billionaire to his knees with her innocence and goodness. Second, Sutton identified Elizabeth's beauty and sexiness and sought to make her aware of her attributes. Everyone she came into contact with in this story could see her flawlessness except the one who mattered the most: Elizabeth, herself. In the end, self-discovery and the love of a sexy man opened her eyes.

This is a vanilla story but it's definitely one of the better stories I've read. For that alone, I would recommend this story.

Ah, those Buchanan men and their contracts! Like his cousins before him, Sutton sees what he wants and isn't afraid to use whatever means he has to get it. It just so happens that this time it is struggling artist Elizabeth that he wants. The question is if Sutton can get everything that he craves from Elizabeth. Is it just her body, or does he long for something more? Can something pure and lasting evolve from such muddied begins, and if it can is that even what either of them truly wants? Alexx Anders takes us on a smoldering voyage via her pen that provides those answers. Lovers of the Bought By the Billionaire Brothers series will enjoy being reconnected with some old book friends; yet, this book presents no difficulty for people who haven't read those books in following the story. Plus, as with all of her other books, Alexx Anders presents such a well rounded blend of characterizations and situations that you can't help but to love this book. I have no hesitation in recommending this book.

Alexx has written another fantastic Buchanan Story!
Sutton gets what he wants and when he wants and he is willing to do anything to get it. Elizabeth is down on her luck, her life is falling apart and her sister depends on her. She has no idea what she is going to do when she literally runs into Sutton at the Covington Art Museum her world is about to change drastically. Sutton has seen what he wants and he wants her.
Omg you want to hate him. He is horrible and cruel to Elizabeth but the times of intimacy are hot, steamy and pushes her to somewhere she has never gone before. Just when you think Sutton can't be anymore hurtful he does something nice for her and Elizabeth starts to fall for him. but due to his history, Sutton is scared and lashes out and does something truly stupid can he be forgiven and can he redeem himself.
Oh there is a HEA but it's messy and fantastic!
I received an ARC for my honest review.

Something a little different...

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be bought and paid for? Elizabeth was struggling to find away to pay for her sister's care when she literally bumped into Sutton. Sutton was a Buchanan who got what ever he wanted and he decided he wanted Elizabeth. After investigating her he offered her a deal; sign a contract giving him the rights to her body and he would pay her enough money to pay for her sister's care. Would you take that deal? Find out if Elizabeth took the offer and what happens when love finds the way into their hearts.

Can we please, please, please stop romanticizing this crap? Pretending that good sex makes for a great marriage without anything else factored in?

I have never met a single individual in the BDSM scene who would be okay with the "relationship" in this book. Even 50 Shades involved more consent, and that's just pathetic. As was this story.

I finished and I'm still unsure if the 4 stars I gave the book is actually what I want to rate it.

I liked Elizabeth, although she seemed to have some self-esteem issues, but I liked her even better once she started showing a bit of a backbone. I can totally relate to her making the decision that she made to be with Sutton even if it went against everything that she stands for, not because I had to do the exact same in my life, but because if given the choice in the same circumstances I would do the same. She wanted to be able to support her sister Gretchen at all costs. I admired her for that.

I had a love/hate relationship with Sutton. It was a good thing this was dual pov or I wouldn't have liked him at all. The main reason I can't say that I absolutely love him for Elizabeth is because he did something that I found unforgivable

I did think that Elizabeth was too forgiving for all of the crap that Sutton put her through in such a short time, he was really like a little kid who doesn't know how to express his feelings.

The main reason I think I will stick with the 4 stars is because the writing was good and kept me engaged in the story even if I didn't like some of the things that happened.

I read this book and thought it was written to show you that love can come to you in more way than one. I really enjoyed the story Sutton and Elizabeth share. Elizabeth is taking care of her disabled sister and her waitressing job is not cutting it with paying her bills and not being able to sell her art work she is up against the wall. When she is turned down again she bumps into Sutton a billionaire and after seeing Elizabeth he has one thing in mind, her! Sutton is the type of man who does not believe in love as his past has harden his heart. He ends up offering Elizabeth a contract to be his, pet and he will in turn take care of the cost for her sister's care. Without any family to help, Elizabeth does what she needs to and agrees to the contract. Elizabeth has trouble coming to terms what she signed up for and Sutton doesn't stand for it and along the way their relationship changes and feelings start to emerge. Can Sutton take a leap of faith and allow himself to love and will Elizabeth return it? This book has virgin and a controlling man who find what they are missing in life, can they handle it? I really enjoyed the strength in each character. I voluntarily reviewed this book.

I am generally a fan of the Fifty Shades types of books, but this book was a huge disappointment as it was unable to hold my attention and lacked a story line. It was my first time reading a book by Alexx Andria and I did not enjoy the third person POV style of writing because it did not allow the reader to connect with the characters. I absolutely hated Sutton's character because he was not an alpha male or a gentlemen he was just a spoiled asshole who is used to getting whatever he wanted and I could not stand what a prick he was to Elizabeth especially when it came to cheating on her. Elizabeth's character was okay because she was able to stand up to Sutton sometimes, but she also did get annoying when she let him have his way after he cheated and then she was willing to forgive him because of an expensive holiday. The chemistry between them was good, but this booked seemed only about the sex and not about the story or characters because the reader barely got to know the characters background stories and the reasons behind their insecurities. I also felt that the book was rushed towards the end which was very irritating. Overall this was a disappointing read of one of my favorite genres and I definitely would not be reading the rest of the series.

Where the hell do I start on this book!!?? I'm thoroughly annoyed at myself that I continued to read this atrocious book! The only thing I liked in this book was Elizabeth. I loved how she was willing to do anything for her mute, autistic sister, even sell her soul to the devil!! But I really did enjoyed her fiery temper and how how she stood up to Sutton - well most of the time!

Sutton was a disgusting human being. There was absolutely nothing redeemable about him, at all. He thought the world owed him or something and he hated not getting his own way, so he bully'd his way into getting what he wanted!!

I hated that Elizabeth gave into him so easily after she found out he cheated on her!! That was disgusting also!! Also the scene with Sutton and that woman buying the club, where they were talking about his sister. I mean, c'mon, a brother doesn't talk about his sister that way!!

There was no real feelings discussed in this book! No character progression, no real back stories as to why either of them where the way they were.

So, NO! I wouldn't recommend this book! I don't understand how people could have rated it 4 to 5 stars!!

*UPDATE*

So I've just tried to read this again... thought I owed it a second chance after I calmed down. Outcome? It just got worse!! WHO THE FUCK ENJOYS THIS? This isn't romance!! Why did I ruin my good mood :(

*Original Review*

I don't know what's happening at the minute but the last couple books have made me SO angry!

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK HAVE I JUST READ?!?

I actually read somewhere that this had a swoon worthy hero! WHERE?! I can deal with an alpha asshole, it makes me look forward to the grovelling, but this guy is just unreal. No amount of grovelling is going to make me not want to cut his balls off.

I've read books like this before, but at no point did the so called hero call the heroine a whore and basically force his cock in her mouth.

I could rant about this for hours but I'm not even wasting my time.

Right up my alley

Loved the story, but it seemed just a bit rushed in spots, especially the ending. She developed her plot with decent depth for the most part. I think it could've done with a little more family presence, it being part of a familial series. That being said, this was steamy, not and decadent, I devoured it so quickly it left me yearning for more! Erotica is my ultimate guilty pleasure and 'Coerced' was spot on! My husband has developed a case for hearing me read these sort of stories aloud to him and I'm positive that this will be a new fave for him. He couldn't care less about the plot line, that's for my satisfaction, he's in it for what he refers to as the "smut" and this definitely doesn't disappoint. Will absolutely keep an eye out for more Alexx Andria ;)

Explosive and Hot !

Loved the book ! I am giving an honest review without any reparations from the author or publisher . I read this book in two days . A billionaire who gets what he wants and he wants a shy virgin artist with some curves named Elizabeth Downing . She has an autistic sister who will be thrown out of her half way house if Elizabeth doesn't comes up with a load of cash. In steps Sutton Buchanan who just wants a sex plaything and it willing to pay big for it ! Happily ever after guaranteed ! Great storytelling ! Kudos to the author !I can't wait to read more ! This is for mature readers due to graphic sexual content ! Hot! Hot! Hot !

Can a selfish playboy be tamed?

Sutton believed s#x was all he ever needed from women and he didn't much care which woman he got it from. When he bumped into Elizabeth at Covington Art House, his family's newly acquired business, he decided he wanted her and her do whatever he had to do to get her. Even be if had to coerce her by using her lack of money against her. Can he have Elizabeth as is contracted plaything without developing feelings for her? Sutton believes he can, because he will never love a woman in his lifetime, it's just not in him to do so. Can Elizabeth prove that Sutton actually does have a heart? This is a wonderful story and I highly recommend it!

Coerced by Alexx Andria was the first time I read one of her books. I gave it 3* because it wasn't bad it just wasn't enough book for me. I prefer books that good deeper into a story that keeps you reading to find out what happens next. This was a typical quick Harlequin Romance book. Sutton was an Ass & Elizabeth was boring. The story was just to predicable. Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking the author it just not MY type of book. Please don't let me stop you from reading this author.. there were some very good reviews for this book.
