Stranded
By Piper Sullivan
Excellent contemporary, and very steamy, romance. Sullivan paints a nice romantic setting for her story, and then fills it with well drawn, relatable characters. The pacing was excellent and the HEA satisfying. The proofing/editing could have been better. There were a few places where a word was missing, but the bigger problems were conflicting statements. For instance, in the early part of the book, when Lena and Rex have entered his house, Lena is described as wearing jeans, a tank top, a hoodie, and sneakers. Yet just a couple of sentences later, she complains that her skirt is wet. So, either the description of her attire was missing the word skirt (jeans skirt), or there was a misspelling when she complains that her skirt is wet (she was wearing a tank top, not usually referred to as a shirt), but in either case, the editor, or proofreader, or one of her beta readers should have caught the errors before the book was published. Her height keeps changing too. When Rex carries her up the stairs, she says she is "a woman one inch over five feet" tall. Then, near the end of the book she is described as five foot three. Shrug. Which is it? In any case, those types of errors cost the book a star.
As I said in the beginning, This was a good read for the steam lovers out there. I read this as part of a boxed set, so I will undoubtedly be reading more of 's Sullivan's work.
