Firecracker Chef Virgin I had a plan to open my own restaurant right in my hometown of Cody, Montana. All I needed was the perfect location Which meant I needed Rex. Rex McGregor. Gorgeous, masculine, mountain man, Rex. He was every girlhood fantasy I ever had. And when a late winter storm hit, that fantasy became reality. But I wasn’t prepared for Rex. Or for what came next.
Jerk Craftsman Man of Shadow Mountain People call me a lot of things, my personal favorite, as*h*le. But the way Lena said my name, all breathless and sexy was different. She was different. And off-limits. The storm made it impossible to deny what I wanted. Needed. Her. Just her. But when she disappeared I knew I would do whatever it took to find her. To make her mine. Forever.
Author’s Promise: Stranded is a standalone steamy romance, with no cheating, no cliffhangers and a happily ever after.
Piper Sullivan is an old school romantic who enjoys reading romantic stories as much as she enjoys writing them. She spends her time day-dreaming of dashing heroes and the feisty women they love.
The last 1/4th of this Book was decent. The other 3/4 irritated the crap out of me. I didn't like Lena. I didn't like Rex, and was really turned off by all the anger and bitterness that seemed to continually flow between them. They couldn't manage to have a conversation. To be honest, I was just glad when this book was over.
Rex, will you come down from your mountain to pursue a relationship with your stepsis? January 13, 2018 Format: Kindle Edition This story started really well, with great give and take between the MCs. For the first two-thirds of the book, I thought it was a great read. Conflict, heat, a heroine determined to realize her dreams by her own merits and stand up for herself, a long-term attraction finally acted upon.
Then, chapter thirteen (oh, unlucky number that it is) hit and I disconnected from the characters. They abruptly changed tack with no explanation of why. It seemed like a chapter or two had been removed with no attempt to bridge the gap. Then steamy scenes and lovey dovey moments took over that, I felt, compromised the heroine's strong sense of self. And I never really liked or understood Rex, the hero. Even after a frank talking to from his brother, he could not acknowledge his jerkdom! Stubbornness does not a reformed character make! So, I would rate this one four plus stars for the first 2/3rds of the story, three for the last third.
I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author; this is my voluntary and honest review.
First off I have to say that I am not a big fan of step brother books. Now that being said I am a big fan of Piper Sullivan books so I decided to give this book a try. Although I am still not a big fan of step brother books I liked this book a lot. I picked it up and I sat down and read it from start to finish without putting it down. There is just something about the way the Piper Sullivan writes that she seems to never let me down. There has not been a book I have read by her that I have not liked and this book included. I loved everything about this book. The characters were so fun and so stubborn at the same time. It was hot, it was full of romance and it made me smile. I highly recommend you give this book a try. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.
I really liked Lena and Rex even if their relationship is almost taboo, their parents were married and looks like they will be again making them step sibling. They have a chemistry and while Rex is a little brooding and standoffish he will do whatever is necessary to win Lena. Lena is determined to make it on her own and doesn't want to have to rely on a man to find happiness but she has always had feelings for Rex and she eventually has to admit this. This is a steamy love story with a happy ever after ending. I received and ARC this is my honest review.
This is one romantic love/hate relationship between Rex and Lena who happened to be step siblings at one time. Rex is several years old then Lena and her childhood crush was none other than Rex who is now a recluse hot sexy mountain man living alone in the mountains. Rex builds very high end furniture by hand and is very wealthy from his work. Lena is a chef and her dream is to open a specialized restaurant in her hometown in none other than her old family home. Once Lena comes home to ask her wealthy dad for his help in turning the family property into a restaurant he tells her that Rex owns 50% of the home and she needs his permission! After all her hard work and planning Lena is hurt and feels betrayed by her father over this and storms up to Rex’s place only to get stuck there due to a snow storm. Rex knows Lena is off limits but Lena has grown up into a beautiful young woman and he is attracted to her and wants her even more all these years later. Rex and Lena act on their attraction to one another and it ends up being very special to Lena. Once Lena gives Rex all the details of her plans for the restaurant and Rex has hot sex with her again he tells her no and she runs out of there not to be found or heard from. Once Rex accidentally finds Lena several months later he has a feeling of wanting her and will fight to find a way to break down all her walls. I loved the way Rex never gives up on Lena and how hard Lena fights to keep Rex out of her life. These two will make you laugh, cry, love and hate them. In the end can they give into their true feelings for one another? I enjoyed Jared’s character who is the step brother of Rex’s and hope he gets a story! ## I loved the first 3/4 of this book. SPOILERS BELOW: The heroine was strong and capable and wanted to use her dad's property to open her own restaurant. Her dad says "only if you get your EX stepbrother to sign off on it", who BTW had nothing to do with it.
She seeks him out and since they lust each other some sex ensues. Hero treats heroine like crap, so she takes off and gets a job out of town. Weeks later he says " Why are you mad? I never promised you anything! " and "You wanted it badly". Ugh, he just didn't get it. She wasn't mad about the sex. She DID want it. She was mad because he wouldn't say yes to her restaurant even though she presented him with a full business plan which was approved by the bank. For NO reason. Just to be an assh*le. And he made sure he waited til AFTER the sex to tell her NO. Crushed her dreams just because he could. Douchebag.
Anyway, I loved that the heroine wasn't a doormat and walked away. I loved that she didn't throw herself at the hero just because he was hot. I loved how she didn't take crap from her father like in so many books.
But then, BAM. All of a sudden they were on a date laughing and teasing, when on the previous page they were barely tolerating each other. It was like the author decided to take out a part of the story but forgot to bridge the gap. I literally went back twice to see if I missed a chapter. But no, suddenly the hero was in love. It was a huge disconnect in the story.
So, although I did enjoy most of it, the way it played out in the end was a disappointment, hence only 4 stars.
I love a good mountain man story. The broody, loner mountain man works for me. What doesn't work for me is a bratty heroine with a crappy attitude and an unwillingness to be reasonable. Lena is annoyed with her dad. I get that. The thing is, that bleeds into her interactions with Rex when it doesn't look like Rex has done anything to deserve her anger and disdain other than being an unwitting player in one her dad and his mother's schemes. From what I've read, Rex actually seems like a nice, if solitary, guy who getting the short end of Lena's temper and horrible attitude even when he's being reasonable and nice to her. I have zero patience for a bratty heroine and these days I'm teaching myself not to waste my time on something I don't enjoy reading and I sure as heck am not enjoying reading about Lena's rather appalling behaviour. My TBR is way too long for me to suffer through something I'm not enjoying.
Liked the story. Rex was a jerk for half the story. Then he became a different person for the second half. I liked both sides of him, obviously liked the way he was in the end more but maybe I felt like it was all to drastic of a change? He was a real jerk to have sex with her again and tell her right after he wasn't going to sign off on her dream. Well that's just one of the reasons why he was an ass.
What happens when your father makes your dream place halfers with your ex stepbrother? You go confront the arrogant mountain man. End up stuck in a storm and sleeping with him but what happens when you dont wrap it up?
Excellent contemporary, and very steamy, romance. Sullivan paints a nice romantic setting for her story, and then fills it with well drawn, relatable characters. The pacing was excellent and the HEA satisfying. The proofing/editing could have been better. There were a few places where a word was missing, but the bigger problems were conflicting statements. For instance, in the early part of the book, when Lena and Rex have entered his house, Lena is described as wearing jeans, a tank top, a hoodie, and sneakers. Yet just a couple of sentences later, she complains that her skirt is wet. So, either the description of her attire was missing the word skirt (jeans skirt), or there was a misspelling when she complains that her skirt is wet (she was wearing a tank top, not usually referred to as a shirt), but in either case, the editor, or proofreader, or one of her beta readers should have caught the errors before the book was published. Her height keeps changing too. When Rex carries her up the stairs, she says she is "a woman one inch over five feet" tall. Then, near the end of the book she is described as five foot three. Shrug. Which is it? In any case, those types of errors cost the book a star.
As I said in the beginning, This was a good read for the steam lovers out there. I read this as part of a boxed set, so I will undoubtedly be reading more of 's Sullivan's work.
I LOVED the story. You could see the sparks and chemistry fly off Rex and Lena. I loved when Lena says “Where do you keep your wood?” I had tears on that one. I sat there wondering if Rex was going to say “want me to show you.” But he didn’t. She brings in the wood and they eat and then go to sleep. We have a little warming of the sheets. I keep reading and dang they are setting things on fire, with all their steaminess going on. I thought for sure they melt the snow outside. While a song played in my head. “It’s getting hot in here.” The story has a steady pace, to keep you reading along through all the hotness. Never a dull moment. The more you read, the more it pulls you in to wanting to know what happens next to Lena. The story will have you mad, laughing, or feeling sad. The author did a wonderful job with ever emotion they added to their characters. Loved the story of Rex and Lena and hope to read more from the author’s book shelf. I hope you will enjoy the story as much as I did. Thank you for sharing your book with us. Got for an honest review.
While I really enjoyed the story, there were times when I got a little confused. Rex and Lena would be having a conversation that felt like it was going in different directions. At times, the story felt rushed as well. I still really enjoyed reading it though. Rex and Lena were at one time step siblings but their parents divorced and are now seeing each other again. Lena always had a crush on Rex but thought he didn’t really care for her. That all changes when she arrives at his house unexpectedly to convince him to go along with her business plan. Things escalate between the two quickly but it also fizzles just as quickly. They both go back and forth between being done with the other and still wanting the other. A really good and quick read! Lena is trapped with Rex in his cabin. He’s her ex brother in law ans she went to him because she needs his agreement to her project. He was her crush when she was a teenager, but she couldn’t stood the behavior of his brother and him. So it’s quite tense in this cabin. They have sex twice but she left him after he acts like an *sshole. But then, she misses him and he tries to search for her. When he finds her, he needs o seduce her, prooves her what she means to him. They’re strong great characters : at first Lena is conflicted with her feelings, but when she finds something that she just needs more than him, she fight to protect herself. I liked Rex’s character : he’s quite unbearable and it's easy to hate him, but you only want him to be more bearable, because you just want him to support Lena I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
If you like your heroine to has some fire give this book a shot. Lena is trying to open her own business only in order for that to happen she need someone to sign off on using her home since he is also the co-owner. Rex likes to be away from the crowd, so he moved way up on the mountain away from everyone and just focused on his business. When his ex step sister shows up for his signature he becomes his typical self and acts like a jerk and keeps pushing her away. They both have feeling for each other that isn't brotherly/sisterly love. When they are stuck toigether to ride out a snow storm it begins to heat up. But what happens when they can get back to normal life and what about her business? Great fast read. No cheats but tons of attitude! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I voluntarily received an ARC copy of this story for my honest review. Rex and Lena were step siblings their parents married and divorced, but still go on vacation together. Lena's father left her and Rex a mansion. Lena wants to open a restaurant in this mansion but she needs Rex's approval.
Rex lived in the mountains and she has not seen him for over a year. She dislikes him but has always has a crush on him. Long story short she goes to see him and gets stranded in a snowstorm. Stuck with Rex they bicker like kids. You know that they both like each other and stranded they will give in to temptation. This story is short. I kind of feel like something was missing cause their was no epilogue other than that I loved the story and was happy with the outcome.
Hero, Rex = 3/5 Heroine, Lena = 4/5 Secondary Characters = 4/5 Chemistry = 4/5 Sex = 4/5 Plot = 4/5 Mystery = 1/5 Action = 1/5 Darkness = 1/5 Humor = 1/5 Stars = 4 ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ Would I recommend this book = Yes Would I read future books by this author = Yes
Short, sweet, and somewhat predictable. It has a theme of being stuck in a snowstorm with a hot mountain man. Who wouldn't love that? Plus, this hot mountain man is an ex stepbrother. This makes it a little taboo. Throw in a surprise shock and you have a story!
The novella was good. I loved that Lena played hard to get. That makes for more of an adventure. Rex is like any typical bad boy. So honestly there was nothing special about him. His character was likeable but it would have been awesome for something to stand out with him.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’m a fan of any type of romance such as enemies to lovers etc, so when I saw this was a stepbrother romance and involved a mountain man I 100% definitely wanted to read it. I liked the concept of the storyline however, I felt like the storyline seemed quite rushed at points and there was just something missing. It didn’t really provide any in depth detail regarding the characters. Therefore it was hard to feel any type of connection to the characters which ultimately made the storyline just loose the thrill. There were a few literature mistakes throughout this book like repeated words right next to each-other and spelling mistakes so sometimes it was hard to read because of that. Overall I gave this 3 stars as it wasn’t the worst thing I have read and it was good for a quick read.
One of my favorite genre's is the mountain man romance. “Stranded” is well-written with interesting characters that kept me riveted to the pages. Lena wants to open a specialty restaurant in the unused family mansion. She discovers that her step-brother Rex has a 50% interest in the house so she needs his permission. Lena drives to Rex's mountain home to talk to him but leaves angry when he refuses her request. A snow storm forces her to stay with Rex until the weather improves. Rex and Lena have sizzling chemistry and they have been ignoring their feelings for each other. “Stranded” is an interesting, emotional, steamy romance. I strongly suggest you give this one a try. Very well written short story with great storyline and plot. Full of expanse and hotness. I like that the characters are relatable and likeable. It has a nice pace to it. It was very predictable. I like the main characters and how they develop. The story flows nicely and it is very captivating from first to last chapter.
It is written in dual POV which gives the reader much more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. Great romance with a twist and very enjoyable read. I would have loved an epilogue to finish the story. Lots of chemistry in this amazing story.
The author has delivered a story that is worth the read!
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The first book stranded was really neat I liked that in it they had this family connection. Then had sex she got knocked up and she left wanting to still raise the baby but not with someone so rude. It was neat she was a chef and that in the end they fall in love with each other. The dozens of other books were also good to read. They were more like short stories some very steamy... Ok most of them pretty steamy. But they all found love. Went through a whole slew of characters. Irish mobs, Italian mobs, bear shifters, dragon shifters, lion shifters, neighbors, bosses. Took me several days to read them all but they were good stories a few errors which would throw things off monetarily but good overall.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Cooking and sex...what a combination. All Lena wants to do is open her own restaurant and now, down to her father, she needs the permission of her ex stepbrother Rex...why!!!! All Rex wants is to be left alone in this mountain retreat but when hot feisty ex stepsister Lena comes along, watch the sparks fly. When bad weather strikes they get to one another intimately but saying the wrong thing is Rex’s specialty. Now Lena is gone. What to do A brilliant story of making you realise that when something or someone is good, you hang onto it. Brilliant story.
Rex and Lena were once stepbrother and stepsister before their parents divorced. Lena had a serious crush of Rex at the time and followed him everywhere always asking him questions. Now she is all grown up and back in town having completed school. Wanting to open up a restaurant in their family home she ask her father who states that he will agree if Rex is on board. Furious Lena high tails it up the mountain to confront Rex about using the property since he hadn’t returned her calls. Well one remark leads to another and before she can get into her car to leave she is snowed in with Rex. Will these two be able to put aside their differences or will one get buried under all that snow!
While I enjoyed this story, there was something about Lena and Rex that bugged me. While I understood why Lena was upset about the house at the beginning of the story, I didn't understand why she wouldn't explain her plan to Rex. Then there is Rex,,,,I wanted to hit him so many times. He definitely was a hard character to like. So, like I said, I enjoyed the story but it probably won't make it to the "keeper shelf".
*I received an Advance Reader's Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
Lena wants to open her own restaurant but needs her ex stepbrothers approval. Rex lives up in the mountains and is broody and wants to be left alone. That all changes when his ex stepsister breezes through the door with a storm on her heels that will have them stranded together in the cabin.. Stranded by Piper Sullivan isn't your typical step sibling read. The book will take you on a journey filled with want, lust, stubborness and despair. Stranded: A Mountain Man Romance By Piper Sullivan
Lena wants to open a restaurant but her dad says she must get permission from her stepbrother, Rex to use the family mansion. Rex is stubborn and wants more from her. I really enjoyed reading this story. I could not put it down till I finished reading the whole book. Piper Sullivan has a way of weaving a story together that I really love. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes romance and hot passionate love stories. I received an ARC and have voluntarily left a review.
The writing was honestly really good. I enjoyed how it was kind of a slow build up, but kind of not at the same time? Lena is such a strong willed girl and so stubborn. But I think thats to be expected with everything you are shown. Rec, holy hot backwoods man. I mean he just comes off as cocsure and arragant. He is straightforward to a fault almost, but not always with whats inside his head. These to burn deep with the chemistry. They could be so good together, but they both stand in their way to one another. I honestly got so emotional from the things going on.
This is a cute little love story. Of course, I was completely frustrated by Rex through most of the book. He really couldn’t see past his own ego and he didn’t even try to. Poor Lena was denied everything she worked so hard for and then had an unexpected surprise. I was cheering at the end when she finally realized that Rex was serious about them becoming a family. I hope that Lena’s friend Casey has her own story, she needs to have her own someone special.
I really like this author, this is a fantastic read from page one to the end, the characters are step siblings, Lena and Rex, she wants him to sell her his share of their mansion home so she can turn it into a restaurant, so she goes to his cabin home to ask him only to get stranded with him in a snow storm, as you can imagine, things don't go quite to plan, and what happens is ......... Grab a copy and find out
I rec'd a copy and voluntarily leave my own thoughts

Stranded during an unexpected snow storm, they live out their sexy fantasies, with many repercussions.
