This is the first book by this author that I have read or listened to but it won't be the last, as I really enjoyed it. It is an unusual plot for me to listen to because I like cozy mysteries but I liked the sound of the blurb and was hooked as soon as the narrator started speaking. It really makes you think about what sort of control others have over us and how quickly things can spin out of our hands, very scary but makes for an enjoyable book that will keep you on your toes until the end.
Michael perfect life is about to be shattered by highly functioning psychopath and he has no idea. It starts will an email to all his university colleagues and students and quickly escalates to violence. Michael the father of two small children has no idea that Robert has been planning his revenge for wrongful termination for months and is now ready to put his plan into action. As secrets and lies start flying around Michael begins to lose the faith and trust of the people he knows and loves. But going up against Robert alone is not a good idea, a few people have tried it and failed. It's a good job Micheal's brother is Jack Monroe an ex U.S Marshal but even his skills might not be enough to go up against the man with the serial killer name.
I liked the narrator but did think the voice for Jack was a bit deep and a few times a couple of the words were repeated, I think that was just the editing and it didn't effect the over all story or enjoyment of the book which was very good.

A great listen. This is a very compelling story. That grabs you and has you on the edge of your seat. I Love how the Author brings out the Characters in this until read. And the surroundings. It is kind of a Mystery to me I love books that are kind of to me as putting a puzzle together as you read the story. The Narrator does a fantastic job with the voices as well. And the Author did a great job at that I highly recommend. It is packed with Twists and turns as well.
