Even the Devil needs love, too

Lucifer Morningstar is no ordinary man. In fact, he’s no man at all. Regardless of what he’s called- The Prince of Darkness, the Devil, Satan, The King of Hell, in some ways, he’s not so different than anyone else. All he really wants is a little love in his life.

As an immortal being, Luc has done it all. He’s been with every type of woman on the planet and he’s tired of the games. Everything has become so monotonous, so mundane. He needs something new, different, something that will give him back his spark.

When his best friend, Harley, devises a game to help him find his soul mate, Luc is skeptical. She decides that in order to find the right woman, he will spend one month with someone of her choosing, that represents each one of the seven deadly sins. Since his luck in finding Ms. Right hasn’t panned out so far, he figures he has nothing to lose.

Before the first month is out, Luc finds out that looking for love, and letting people get close, is nothing like he thought it would be. Allowing himself to be open to potential soul mates just might have some unintended consequences. And for The King of Hell, that might not be a good idea.

Devilishly smutty, an uneven start to a series

My weakness for bad boys allows me to forgive a lot of sins - including in this book. Lucifer, Azrael, and Cupid are some of the big names in a dating game involving mortals. Each book is a new option, based on another sin.

Wrath's representative is Ronnie, a violent fighter taking care of her three siblings. Emotions run high, including the aforementioned wrath, and lust. Luv helps her, a lot, and sexes her up even more in his month long experiment. She's a conflicted, painfully human character, sometimes difficult to understand.

The writing is decent, though uneven. Smut often takes the place of plot development - I enjoy smut as much as the next reader, but I'd prefer more story. I'll keep reading to see how the series develops, but thus far it won't make it into my favorites list. An example:

"Luc was semi-hard and slightly interested in her proposal, at least physically. He could easily convince her to blow him in the back room, and he got the impression that she would be good at it, but he wasn’t in the mood for a backroom bj. It was even likely that he could convince her to give him a handy right there at the bar, but he was already growing tired of the whole situation."

Lucifer is looking for love. So of course, his right hand demon makes a game out of it. One woman to represent each of the seven deadly sins. He will get 4 weeks to woo each of the women and then Lucifer can choose from the 7. First up, Wrath. Ronnie Falcon has had a tough year. Her parents died leaving her custody of three younger siblings. She has to leave college and her life of carefree partying for a daily struggle to care for and feed three kids. Her outlet for all of the unfairness is cage fighting. She’s a good fighter and it pays well. Will this angry fighter be the one for Lucifer?
I liked this story of lucifer looking for his soul mate. The characters Lucifer and Harley (His best demon bud) reminded me a lot of the characters from the t.v. show Lucifer. I could imagine Tom Ellis with his sexy accent and Lesley-Anne Brandt (as Lucifer and Mazikeen) in the bar trading jabs.
I liked the idea of the seven deadly sins women and I’m curious to see how the other women will measure up to Ronnie. Bring on Gluttony! lol

DNF - made it to 20%
I just couldn't get into this book. It dragged along with a boring plot. At 20%, nothing really exciting has happened to make me want to continue reading. I was expecting more devilish behavior from the devil, but other than Lucifer's supposed powers (that I really didn't see in the beginning before starting the game), & that he's not supposed to wield for his game with unsuspecting dates -looking for his soul mate. I don't know, I was excited to read this after reading the blurb, but it just couldn't hold my attention, & at 20%, I was thinking of chores I needed to do or taking a nap, rather than on what I was reading.

The concept behind this book and the series is an interesting one. I really enjoyed the character of Harley, Lucifer's right hand man. He was great. I really like Ronnie, too. She and Lucifer were good together. The story was well written and kept my interest. I'm looking forward to reading book two.

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I did get a lot of familiar vibes from this show. The thought of the Seven Deadly Sins being the center of the story line. I admire Luc's goal for find a mate, but there was just somethign that seemed off about all of this. His friend Harley could be a little skeptical and annoying at times. I am not sure about the love interest. There is just something about her I don't like.

I found this to be a fun and sex read and this is the first book in The seven deadly sins series so I am very interested to see how each one plays out. This is a game of love played by Lucifer. Interesting read.

Hmmm

Straight to the chase, the concept for this series is interesting. Lucifer, Harley and Azreal are fun. It's a different twist on the view of the devil. I just couldn't connect with the female lead. Sure I felt compassion for her, but I wasn't rooting for her to end up with Luc.

Not the best, but you can tell the series will build to something. Can't expect Luc to fall in love on the first try. I'm curious what Cupid is up to and if the threat of an uprising in Hell becomes more serious. Perhaps at the end will be an eighth girl who is all the sins?

Even the devil needs love. He has done everything but find love. He is given a chance at finding love and things may become more complicated than he expected. See what will happen

I'm a huge fan of the television show "Lucifer" and reading this one felt a lot like watching that. It was funny, heartwarming, and very entertaining. I'm really looking forward to the rest of this series.

Needs help

Omg! Proof reading and editing help needed. Chapter 3 she gets knocked out and then you’re reading the EXACT same thing you just read, up until she gets knocked out AGAIN. Tapped out after that.

Weak!

The storyline was very weak in spots! The devil is not supposed to have a heart or help people. This book was just lame. I struggled to finish it.
