Take a ride with Love Taxis, the cab company with a Heart …
Rosalie Heart is a well-known face in Irlwick – well, if you drive a bright pink taxi and your signature style is a pink anorak, you’re going to draw a bit of attention! But Rosalie’s company Love Taxis is more than just a gimmick – for many people in the remote Scottish village, it’s a lifeline.
Which is something that Marc Petersen will never understand. Marc’s ruthless approach to business doesn’t extend to pink taxi companies running at a loss. When he arrives in Irlwick to see to a new acquisition – Raventhorn, a rundown castle – it’s apparent he poses a threat to Rosalie’s entire existence; not just her business, but her childhood home too.
On the face of it Marc and Rosalie should loathe each other, but what they didn’t count on was somebody playing cupid …

Hello Irlwick 😁 Little Pink Taxi will take you to Scotland!👍
🎅🎄 I read this for Christmas! :P This lovely book 'Little Pink Taxi' have something interesting for me like... ancient castle! ghost story! mystery! and yessss Scotland!!
But alas.. I don't know why... Maybe it's too light for me? I expect so much more about that Isobel, I want it to be more mysterious and scary! 😱 But it's not that mysterious...
It's Heart-Warming love story about a rish man that want to ruin her taxi career and take this castle!! and a kind-heart lady with her pink taxi to help everyone in her town.
Anyway, it's SO GOOD to be in Scotland! 😃 The characters are lovable, though! 🏰
Little pink Taxi is a story of community spirit, falling in love, friendship, mystery, ghosts, history, beautiful location.
Rosalie own the Little Pink Taxi business. When she picks up Petersen in her pink taxi he is furious and thinks she is a joke. He gets in the taxi and she takes him to see Geoff the current owner at Raventhorn Castle, where Rosalie also lives.
Rosalie finds out that Petersen has inherited the castle from his father and that Geoff has sold it without even telling her.
She is devastated as that means Petersen also owns her taxi firm due to an unpaid loan. She is devestated.
Little Pink Taxi isn't just a taxi firm it's the pillar of the community. She helps the locals for little on no fair to get to the Drs etc..
She finally gets Petersen to agree to go out with her on a shift for him to see all the good she does. But all he is interested in is profit and the Taxi firm does not make a profit giving out freebies!
Can Rosalie melt Petersen's heart or is he destined to close her down? There is a definite spark between Rosalie and Petersen. Petersen doesn't get attached to anyone or anything. But Rosalie is full of life and spirit, she's strong and has a HUGE heart. Is there space for the Moody, handsome Petersen?
I adored this gem of a book. It had a mix of everything. I was quickly Swept away to Scotland and the history and passion of the castle. All the quirky tales. For example the bed that is famous for conceiving children. Lol it's brilliant.
I highly recommend this gorgeous book. A Rom Com with a twist of history, Ghosts that play matchmaker, plus sprinkle of mystery and not forgetting the pink taxi!
Thank you to Choc Lit for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
Castles, Pink taxis, and Scotland... oh my! This book was a genre smorgasbord... and the best kind of smorgasbord at that.... with a dash of history... a dose of romance... a splash of mystery... and a dollop of the paranormal... oh and I cannot forget a side of laughter.... The perfect blend of genres all wrapped up in a pretty pink package...
Rosalie runs the local cab company... helping get the villagers here and there without thought of profit... Rosalee is a very warm hearted, generous, and fun loving person... more concerned with others than herself, so invested in the community... so when grumpy Mark Peterson comes to town more concerned with the bottom line than anything else Rosalie is less than thrilled.... determined to show Mark that there is more to life than profits she takes him for a ride in her little pink taxi...
So much charm and heart throughout this book... Rosalie really should be the ambassador of this delightful Scottish village... she really brought this book to life for me... so much passion and compassion... I SO would love to visit and I would absolutely take a ride in one of those pink taxis!
This was just such a fun lighthearted read with something for everyone! Strongly recommend!
*** many thanks to Choc Lit and Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for my copy of this book ***
Well, she had some old wizard cast a spell on the bed before her nuptials to make sure her betrothed could … Perform … Over the years, this bed has proved a steady source of income for the McBrides. Any man whose virility was in need of a little …push could bring his wife here for a fee –a jar of whiskey, a brace of pheasants, a good-sized salmon. Every mark on the bedposts represents a successful night… We organise weddings here now, and people come a long way to … ahem … stay, in this bed.
The kind of physical attraction she’d never experienced before, but that could, according to her friend Alice’s late night confessions, make you lose your head, your self-respect, and most of your clothing.
Now it’s time for the Stitch and Bitch group… The local knitting group or “Knit and Natter”, as they are formally known.
What’s wrong? Is it a little too strong for you? … Perhaps my hand slipped as I was pouring in the coffee granules … unless I mistook the pepper container for sugar.
My Review:
With the playful cover and title I was expecting a Rom/Com, and although the entertaining storylines included romance and amusing humor, there were also strong elements of mystery and suspense and serious crimes that were committed and solved along the way. I enjoyed the premise, quirky characters, smooth writing style and well-paced mysteries that kept my curiosity primed.
There was a bit of everything in this story including a hidden treasure, ghosts, parentage issues, and a series of vexing crimes that started out as small nuisances before mushrooming into more serious felonies that included hit and run, sabotage, attempted murder, kidnapping, blackmail, burglary, and assault. And I dare not forget the mythical properties of the magical bed with centuries worth of actual notches.
I reveled in the quirky traits and colorful descriptions and behaviors Ms. Laval gave her characters. I adored the major players although the character of Rosalie was not always likable as she was stubborn and immature and prone to outbursts and childish displays of temper - of course, I have never been accused of such annoying behaviors myself as I’m simply lovely, all-the-time.
I have two sparkling new additions to my British Isles Vocab list with “yob,” which Mr. Google informed me was a rude, noisy and aggressive young man, and “bampot,” which according to the Urban Dictionary is a Scottish term meaning 'hooligan' or 'trouble-maker', so essentially, they are much the same thing and both quite fun to say.
This is an adorable book. It has absolutely everything in it; romance, ghosts, history, thugs bringing drama and family ties and relationships. I love what I call ‘kitchen sink’ books where the author throws just about everything into a story but there’s always a danger that all the strands won’t tie up. Thankfully with Little Pink Taxi this doesn’t happen. Everything pulls together delightfully.
I loved Rosalie, she’s a bundle of energy and like her namesake all heart often running her company at a loss as she drives around helping everybody out. Marc, our hero has lots of hidden depths. There’s definitely a bit of Darcy about him (i swear every hero gets compared to Darcy!) and as the story unravels we find he’s not as cold hearted as he lets on.
I adored the Danish/Viking elements. I’m going through a Norse myth phase at the minute so this was a well times read and I could happily have read more on this particular section of the book.
I was a little bit put off by the title to start with but the taxi company is what draws the whole thing together. It’s beautifully written, there’s a richness of characters and I enjoyed everyone. The bad guys are suitable bad and we even have an ambiguous one that I’m not sure I’d forgive but I maybe don’t have Rosalie’s big heart. I’m glad that one was left a little open (not spoiling it 🙂 )
Little Pink Taxi by Marie Laval. Fiction. Kindle Edition, 347 pages. Published 20 February 2018 by Choc Lit Limited, PENROSE HOUSE, CRAWLEY DRIVE, GU15 2AB Camberley, Surrey, England. 5 Stars.
A light-hearted Scottish romance full of ghostly adventure and intrigue when opposites attract. Keeps you going full-throttle until its surprise ending. Highly recommend.
Take a girl who loves pink, add a cold businessman, some ghosts and a thug and you end up with a story full of love, friendship, suspense and intrigues. I loved it from the first letter until the last full stop. It's a fluently wirtten story and I could hardly put it down. I know I ask it often, but is there any chance we can have a sequel, please?
Rosalie and her mother arrived at Raventhorn Castle when she was a child, and it’s the only place she’s ever known. Wanting to make some money and help out the residents in this little corner, she started a taxi business – ferrying residents to appointments, grocers , toddler meetings and elsewhere: allowing everyone to feel connected. Additionally, she’s part of a small group that does ‘wellness checks’ for residents, particularly the elderly and any tourists that may be in holiday lets away from town, and she’s also a constant presence for those who want to be cheered. She’s never wanted any other life than the one she has, even if money is tight. But when she’s sent to the airport to collect one Marc Peterson and bring him back to town. No, scratch that – the new owner of Raventhorn Castle has come to take account of his property. A surprise to Rosalie as Geoff, the owner, didn’t tell her about the sale, and he’d just crashed his vintage Porsche into a tree and is in hospital, recovering.
Marc Peterson is impatiently waiting information regarding the helicopter crash that killed his father, and trying to figure out why his father would have overpaid, greatly, for the rundown castle in the middle of nowhere Scotland. Making matters worse is the marshmallow-pink clad taxi driver and her equally pink taxi, hours without sleep and her apparent addiction to peppy pop songs that say little and grate on his nerves. The castle is in worse shape than he imagined, even selling it off piecemeal isn’t looking like a solid recoup on his investment. Add to that the tales of a ghost, and a woman standing at the side of the road and Marc is sure that understanding why his father would have spent money on the place is something he can’t see.
Oh the fun of this – as Rosalie is an “all in” sort of girl – knowing everyone in town and determined to make it easier for them to manage their daily lives with her help. Sure, there’s not much money in it – but she’s doing ok, able to mostly pay the people who work for her and desperately need their salaries. Marc is a bottom line guy, but there’s something about Rosalie, the castle and the strange appearances of a woman, and ravens…. Somewhere there must be a clue. With a potential family connection, unearthing secrets about Rosalie’s past and something her mother left behind, and Geoff’s cousin Rupert – a thoroughly dislikable and disreputable man, there are twists, turns and dangers aplenty. When you add in the appearance of an employee of Marc’s, Kristin – who claims to be ‘almost engaged’ and isn’t polite or quiet about shutting down and selling off the castle contents and businesses (Including Rosalie’s taxi service) things are dire – until they aren’t – and a chance taken by Rosalie, when everything else is at stake, makes all the difference. A wonderful summer read full of Scotland, legend, history and plenty of heart.
I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.
It isn't difficult to take this book to your heart from the first few pages of this fabulous romantic comedy! Rosalie Heart is the kind of character that is so easy to love and her Taxi firm 'Love Taxis' are a godsend to the community where she lives. And what's not to love about a bright pink taxi ferrying you from A to B?!
Those who aren't from the community find the Taxis a little odd, and that is exactly what Marc Petersen fails to connect with as he finds himself in the area. He is there to take over the run down Raventhorn Castle, much to the shock of those who live there - Rosalie being one of them. It comes as a bolt out of the blue to her as it's more than a home to her, it is her life and having grown up there she feels a deep bond to the place and knew nothing of the financial issues behind it. Rosalie and Marc get off to a very bumpy start and that isn't helped when she tells him of local ghostly legends - he is quick to dismiss them but soon finds himself seeing things which he can't explain. It doesn't take long before he becomes seduced by the charm of the castle and the community, which surprises him as he's from the cutthroat business world and doesn't normally get attached to things. With him, it's all about the money! He doesn't even want to be there as he's only tying up the loose ends of his late fathers' dealings and still can't understand how he ended up owning a Castle in the first place.
This book has a little bit of everything in it and that is what kept me so engrossed! There's romance, history, a supernatural element, mystery - the perfect mix of genres! The characters are so easy to relate to, especially Rosalie who has a heart of gold and is always putting the needs of others ahead of her own. Her affection for the Castle is also really touching and how she's determined to show off to others the good that she sees and how vital her business is and how the Castle is more than just a historic setting - it's her home.
Oh, my word! What an incredible read, I absolutely love this book. I have recently re-discovered contemporary again and this is by far one of the best I’ve read. I literally devoured this, from page one I couldn’t put it down. I just needed to know what happened next. Laval has become a firm favourite author of mine, every book is journey you never know where it’s going to take you, with her mixed blend of romance, intrigue and that ever present Gaelic allure. This is my first contemporary by Laval and it is striking, it flows effortlessly. The story envelopes you in a mysterious blanket, swirling mists circulate as you are drawn deeper and deeper into the story and it all comes to a surprising and climatic finale.
This has everything and much, much more than a regular romance. There is intrigue and puzzles popping up at every turn, a myriad of ghostly goings on that keeps you guessing right to the final page. And it is all set with the most amazing Scottish backdrop. This is one of the things that I particularly love about Laval’s books is the detail in the setting’s, she captures your attention with building up the scene, layering up the human emotion and what is going on with the most exquisite setting. Her detail of Irlwick is breath taking, you can see the town, countryside and the Victorian-esque Raventhorn Castle in your mind as though you are actually there.
Little Pink Taxi is an absolute joy to read! Fun, exciting and romantic, with the most memorable plot and interesting character’s. I cannot say too many good thing’s about this, except that this has the potential to take this story further and there are so many more stories that could come out of this little village. I love Ms Laval’s Historical’s and now I do hope that she takes another trip into contemporary. I love it!
Very highly recommended, this is just pure joy wrapped up with a big pink bow.
I didn't enjoy this book as much as I expected to having read so many good reviews. It was an ok read for me but not one that held my attention as much as I wanted it to.
Who wouldn’t be intrigued about a book with a pink car on the front?! I have to say that it was that car that made me want to read the book (I don’t read blurbs!). I have to say that at first, my opinion did echo Marc Peterson’s. I wasn’t sure whether Rosalie was a gimmick or not, however as the storyline progressed, I found myself warming to Rosalie’s life super quickly. Gone were my thoughts about the book being a gimmick – the storyline couldn’t be further from it if it tried!
Pardon my vagueness in this review, but seeing as ‘Little Pink Taxi’ is quite similar to a treasure trove, I want you to feel the same intense anticipation when you turn the pages, just like I did. There is a lot more to the story than just a pink taxi. In fact, the taxi is the true heart of the village and despite outsider, Marc Peterson’s, reservations on the little Scottish village, the castle he had just purchased, AND Rosalie’s business, he can’t help but be swept away by the community spirit. Well, not every villager is as welcoming as Rosalie and co are!
I’ve never been a believer in Caspar the ghost and friends, and despite this storyline having a few of Caspar’s distant relatives making themselves known, it didn’t put me off at all as it certainly gave the novel a unique bite. I ended up absolutely loving ‘Little Pink Taxi’ (no, not just because of the pink car!) as I was constantly surprised by character revelations, suspense, family secrets, romance, and oodles of determination. I felt as though it was my birthday every time I turned the page!
‘Little Pink Taxi’ is an intriguing, more-ish, loveable read which tugged at the heart-strings as many times as the power went out in Raventhorn castle (a lot, FYI!). I am so glad that I ignored my first impressions of the book as Marie Laval’s novel definitely turned out to be a one of a kind, fiery yet cosy read which I would read over again in a heartbeat.
Now it’s a bit of a giveaway but anyone who know’s me will understand my utter delight at the thought of a little pink car. Who wouldn’t want something so striking in their favourite colour!? This little beauty doubles up as a Taxi, running crucial errands for folk in the backwaters of Scotland.
Rosalie is proud to be the Taxi owner and recognises her worth to all the customers she ferries around, to go shopping or to medical appointments etc.
On one of her pick-ups from the local airport she meets business man Marc who is heading to meet the owner of Raventhorn Castle, Rosalie soon sees Marc’s true colours after he insults her precious pink taxi and mistakes her as a ‘stripper-gram’ who would begin performing at any moment!
Raventhorn Castle also happens to be the only home Rosalie has known, so she is devastated when she hears what drastic plans the obnoxious Marc has for it.
Little Pink Taxi encompasses humour, mystery, ghostly intrigue and a little helping hand from cupid. While the whole concept could be considered predictable the journey the author takes the reader on is highly enjoyable, a little bit addictive and certainly a page turner.
While Rosalie has a heart of gold she is also a bit of a dippy ‘blonde’ whereby the hero of the story could only be viewed as a dashing Mr Darcy type who all the females would swoon over.
This is a lovely all-round book, eye-catching cover, enthralling story and a happy if predictable ending. It’s the first time I have read Marie Laval but I will definitely keep an eye open for her work from now on.
My thanks go to the author, publisher, netgalley and Rachel from Random Resources for my copy which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
Thoroughly enjoyed! I like the mixture of suspense and romance, with lots of twists and turns, and and the way Marie describes the settings. I would recommend this book. I felt really drawn into the story and found it progressively interesting and captivating.
I loved this book set in Scotland which has mystery, intrigue and love. Marc Petersen has arrived in Scotland following the purchase of Rosalie’s home Ravensthorne Castle by his recently deceased Dad. His timing follows a series of mysterious events which have led to hospitalisation of the man that Rosalie sees as a Father Figure. Rosalie owns the little pink taxi and is at the heart of the community barely scraping a living because she does the job for the love of the community. With the sale of the castle this means that her business is at risk and the loss of her home. Can she thaw Marc’s heart so that he will help her keep her business? This book has wonderful characters and the Scottish landscape is delightfully described and I would definitely recommend reading it. Thanks to Choc-Lit for providing me with a review copy of this book in return for an honest review which is completely my own opinion.
Absolutely loved this book. So many elements to keep you glued to the page, and paced to suit the scene. Great characters, great storytelling. Highly recommended
While the adorable cover and title give an obvious clue about what to expect within the narrative, I discovered Little Pink Taxi goes above and beyond what I expected within the pages.
The gentleman Rosalie Heart collects from the airport to drive to Raventhorn is a mystery. He's tall with a French accent and has come to visit Geoff who unfortunately isn't available to greet his guest. It doesn't take long to discover Marc Petersen now owns the only real home she's ever had, along with the taxi company she established and runs. With a threat of not only losing her home but her job, she's not happy to be playing host to the new owner. However, he soon becomes her protector as someone from the past comes back to settle a score and a mystery needs solving too.
Visiting to assess the run-down estate his father bought before his tragic death, Marc Petersen hopes his trip to Irlwick in the frozen North of Scotland is quick and uneventful. Only, as soon as he arrives, his plans have already gone to pot. Collected from the airport by a pretty, chatty young woman who is not only wearing pink but driving a pink coloured taxi, it's the beginning of what turns out to be a life-changing trip full of discovery.
I enjoyed the contrast between Rosalie's effervescent personality and Marc's resolute one. They appear as opposites but as events and presumptions from the past come to the surface, they find a common bond, mutual respect and love. The backdrop is the snowy Highlands with a warm community spirit supplied by an eclectic bunch of small-town folk. They provide a light-hearted contrast to the bumpy road the protagonists' developing relationship travels along.
Ms Laval has written a captivating and engaging novel full of humour. The narrative layered with light-hearted banter between the characters, the depiction of The Highlands, the local "crimes", and the folklore surrounding Raventhorn. The highlight and what I enjoyed the most was the mystery element and how the history of Raventhorn and Marc's Danish heritage are connected. I appreciated this even more because I'm familiar with the area and could easily relate them to descriptions of the places mentioned in Denmark.
To sum up, an entertaining novel laced with a hidden charm and an intriguing plot. A fabulous read for any time of the year.

Rosalind drives her little pink taxi- Love Taxi in a small village with a close knit community in the Scottish highlands, She has lived at Raventhorn for so long she is almost part of the family. She is part of the community and the taxi serves one and all in helping those who can’t get around on their own- for many it is a lifeline in every sense of the word. When she picks up a mysterious man from the airport, life is about to change - for all the wrong reasons and even the little pink taxi is under threat. Who is after her and why? Will Marc sell Raventhorn as he is a businessman who doesn’t see anything other than the bottom line? The “blurb” on this book does not do it justice. From the out, this is so much more than the average “romcom” which to me doesn’t do it any favours (nothing wrong with rom-coms I might add) but I feel this is more of a women’s fiction / contemporary fiction category. I don’t do out and out romance , I do enjoy comedy. It’s not a light and fluffy read- but one of a strong character who is determined to help her community come what may. Of determination, and spirit, of tenacity, selflessness and will power. Of taking risks and not being afraid of pushing the boundaries. Of friendships and relationships. Being strong but allowing others to help and knowing when to accept it. This is my first Marie Laval read and it won’t be the last. A highly enjoyable read
An enjoyable read that’s much more than a romantic comedy, alongside the romance and humour, there’s friendship, history, mystery, danger and a hint of paranormal.
Rosalie is a bubbly and kind-hearted person, and her taxi firm, Love Taxis, is at the heart of the close-knit community. Marc Petersen is a cold and calculating businessman who has got no idea why his late father bought a run-down castle in Scotland.
When Rosalie picks up Petersen in her pink taxi, he’s not impressed with the car or her driving. When she discovers he’s the new owner, not only of the taxi firm but also her home, Raventhorn Castle, and he’s planning to strip and sell the business for profit, she tries to show him that there are more important things in life than a hefty bank balance.
Little Pink Taxi was a well-written, fun read with a mix of quirky characters and a backdrop of the wilds of Scotland.
I love the cover of this book and the blurb really intrigued me, I love visiting Scotland and adore books set there so I hoped it was going to be a hit with me!
Well I am delighted to be able to say that I loved the story, it was well written and I loved Marc and Rosalie, their interaction was spot on and it really helped the plot I think and gave it an added edge, it is not just another romance book. I loved the setting and it was a lovely story for me to read – I thoroughly enjoyed it!
4.5 stars from me rounded up to 5 stars for Goodreads and Amazon – a delightful book to read, it is a well written story with some great characters!!
If you’re in any way put off by this book’s pinkness, set that aside straight away – I often have a similar aversion (“little” in a title sometimes affects me that way too), but I’m so very glad I didn’t let it put me off this one. This is a wonderfully told story, and Rosalie will capture your heart as soon as you meet her, driving her pink taxi, rubbish at running a business but providing a lifeline to the community of eccentric characters living around the Scottish village of Irlwick, while singing along (badly) to her favourite Happy Baby radio station. There’s a real sadness in her background – the loss of her mother, the carefully preserved room at Raventhorn castle, the unknown identity of her father – made up for by the loveliest relationships with the laird Geoff McBride and housekeeper Lorna. And then there’s her relationship with Niall – long over, but he can’t take “no” for an answer – and with her loyal friends, all beautifully done. The arrival of Marc Petersen threatens everything she loves – he has a sad background too with the recent death of his father, but his reputation as a ruthless businessman looks like it’s justified, until… oh no, you’ll just going to have to read the book.
There’s a bit of everything here – the dilapidated castle, ghosts and legends and ravens, a vividly drawn Cairngorms setting in the depths of winter, lost treasure, corporate shenanigans, moments of life-threatening drama, dangerous villains, evil family members, even a Danish dimension – all handled quite perfectly, with gentle humour, touches of the totally unexpected, and more than a few moments that certainly get your heart beating faster for a whole range of reasons. I just love a book that can whisk you away from everything for the whole time you spend between its pages, and this lovely book really delivered at every level, perfectly plotted and sheer enjoyment from the start to its perfect end. I can’t wait to see what Marie Laval does next – and thank you to Choc Lit for finding an author I’ll be happy to add to my list of favourites.
I can't put it down! Throw in some mystery into romance and I'm sold. The Raventhorne give this story a prefect gloomy background. So does the surrounding. The event leading to the plot twist, the very plot twist, until the ending makes a very enjoyable reading. I wish Isobel would show herself more other than the blinking of electricity, but I guess it's to make the ghost mysterious enough. Thumbs up for the writer for this unique romance.
WHAT. A. GREAT. STORY! I couldn't put this down. Scotland, strong willed woman and her pink taxi, romance, ghosts (yes a bit of that) and humor. Absolutely captivating and I highly recommend this novel. Awaiting the next from Marie Laval!!
Little Pink Taxi is an engaging story. I hated to turn off my kindle and go to sleep because I kept wanting to know more about these well-developed characters. Everything I like is in this book--mystery, romance, ghosts, setting, humor all wrapped up in a very satisfying ending. Ms Laval took her time to end the story rather than some writers who seem to be too tired to continue and abruptly end the novel. I think readers will fall in love with Rosalie Heart and cheer her on to develop the relationship with Marc. And more will be shouting at Marc to get serious. I'd recommend this to readers who love romance in a cozy setting.
I wanted to read this story because the short summary said it was about Scotland. And that’s exactly where I am heading in August. I liked how the writer described the Scottish landscape and really felt like I was there. There was also a mention of ghosts in the summary. I do not like that kind of stories but I am glad I decided to read this book. The ghosts were just a little part of the story. The story tells about Rosalie Heart who lives in a castle in Raventhorn and owns a taxi company, Love Taxis. I can not tell too much about the story because i twill give away the ending. But when the owner of Raventhorn ends up in hospital her company and eventually her life is in danger. Then a stranger arrives in Raventhorn and puts her life upside down. This story has friendship, loyalty and love in it. But also some suspence and detective kinda stuff. I liked it very much. At some point I thought I wasn’t going to get through it in time because of deadlines at work and I only had some time at night to read on. But to my own surprise this book read very fluently and in no time I was at the next chapter. The chapters aren’t too long and I like that about book. I was also very easy to get back into the story when I hadn’t read fot a couple of days. The story flashed back into my head when I read the first sentence of a new chapter and that made ita lso very enjoyable to read. I liked this book very much. And I thought the cover was beautifully made. The castle with the taxi is exactly what it is about. With some difficulties along the way, because otherwise you don’t have a story. Great read.
Loved it from the start and was totally hooked. The twists and turns were brilliant and I didn't want to put it down. So descriptive you can imagine being there
This is the debut novel with Choc Lit for Ms Laval – I can’t wait for another one!
Rosalie runs her Love Taxis firm in the Scottish Highlands, from an old castle where she has lived and been brought up for as long as she can remember. It is not at all a profitable business, but provides a much needed social service for the surrounding countryside. Although not going particularly smoothly anyway, things go from bad to worse when her mentor, the owner of Raventhorn, has a bad car accident, and while he is in hospital, the gorgeous and brooding businessman, Marc Petersen arrives, with the news that he is the new owner of Raventhorn.
I really enjoyed this story, spending a fair bit of time on the edge of my seat and telling Rosalie to take care, watch her step – I would definitely call this a romantic suspense, with added danger. If you like your heroines a bit ditzy, and pretty feisty, with a hero to die for – then this is one for you. Please keep writing Ms Laval – I am looking forward to reading your next book!
