The last half of 2017 allowed us perspective to see a post Trump world more clearly. And in the process, to see ourselves more clearly. This is not a political collection, but it is politically informed, while dealing with issues beyond partisanship including aging and dying and memories and what it means to write a poem.

Since 2008, the poets I have met thru Shelfari, Goodreads (especially the gang at Poetry) and Ablemuse, and now most strikingly, the professor, Al Filreis, his staff and TAs and my fellow 30,000 plus students at the University of Pennsylvania (thru Coursera) have impacted me, and encouraged me to try new things in the world of Poetry.
I suppose I will always be the simple southern country boy I have always been, with a folksy edge to everything I do. But I am stretching a little, and it seems to be well received.
