Dragon Solstice

Rate this book
Her future has been decided...

As a child, Desrea was sent away from the dragon isle to learn about the world, and maybe find a mate. As an adult, she returns home but with no mate in tow. Winter solstice is the perfect time to fix that, except her mother has other plans--an arranged marriage to a man she's never met. She needs to take some drastic action to get out of it; even if it means faking a true mating with another dragon.

He's never allowed fate to rule him...
Ryker's the black sheep of his family. A biker, a bad boy, and the only one of his siblings left a virgin. He's never felt the mating heat, but he figures winter solstice and the magic of ancestry will fix that. And when the most stunning bachelorette on the island drags him into her own revenge-relationship plot, he's more than willing to play along.

Now a legacy is at stake...
Lorren's been raised to take over the mantle of leadership in his family and now, with his mother's health on the decline, and he approaching fifty, it's time for the next step--an arranged marriage to a suitable bride, chosen from one of the oldest and most respected families on the island. It's his duty to provide an heir to carry on the family legacy. Except his arranged mate is twenty years younger than him, and carrying on with the most hot-headed fledgling he's ever met.

And their hearts will guide the way...
Lorren needs to scare off his competition, but Desrea is having none of it, and Ryker sees every insult as a challenge. Desrea didn't intend to pit the two alphas against each other, though. Worse, this fake relationship might be real, and the arranged one might not be such a bad match. How can these three resolve their differences with solstice only four days away?

Engadging

One of the few dragon shifters stories that I’ve liked. I can’t wait to read the next one. It was very engaging.

Be careful what you ask the Goddess for when it comes to mating! Desere finds out what happens when you call upon the Goddess to tell you what to do.

Lorren and Ryker are pretty amazing guys in very different ways. Desere's mother, Diana, is not amazing but rather horrid. It makes one understand why Desere stayed away for so long.

There were some dropped pieces to this story that made me take a star away. The main plot was fine but the side points didn't progress so that we would know what happened.

I have not read any other books by this author, so I will be looking into this world she has created.

Good shorter read

Follow Desere as she navigates returning home to find that her mom made a marriage contract with another dragon clan. She had no intention of agreeing, so she found another dragon to "fake" A mate bind with. Little do they all know what the goddess has in store for them! Great overall story with good spice 😁🔥🔥

I would like to forget I read this. It was like a bad movie I couldn't take my eyes off of and I disliked very second of it 🙃

Why choose? Indeed. Even better when you're unknowingly fated mates in a culture that doesn't traditionally experience multiple mate pairings. Toss in the restrictions of a forced arranged marriage and the temptation from a fake relationship, then add in a surprise pregnancy. Left is a drama filled scenario with parental disappointment and lots of jealousy and alpha male posturing.

This was a quick spicy read with all the sexy HEA that makes a good palate cleanser.
