Pongo, the dalmation wants his "pet, Roger to find a woman and Pongo wants one for himself. When he spots the perfect pair he makes sure Roger will meet them. Soon a wedding, then Pongo and Perdy have pups...15 of them. When the pups are stolen they must find a way to get them back. Pongo uses the "Twilight Bark" setting dogs all over London sending a message to look for the pups. In a terrible snow storm the parents rescue the pups by a special trick to hide them from Cruella DeVille, who wants to make a coat out of them. It's a heartwarming story of parents standing up to cruelty and never giving up on their children.

I believe that all Walt Disney stories have an underlying message and that is partly why I am such a fan of them. 101 Dalmations was no different. This stories follows the life of a wonderful family with two dalamtions dogs who end up having a great deal of puppies. However, there is a very mean lady who tries to steal these puppies and hurt them. The stories then continues on following them and the journey they go through. Along the way they encounter three bad men who are helping this mean lady try to steal them and how they escape form them. This story teaches children to never give up and that there are bad people out there so to be careful. In the end if you staty ture to what you know is right everything will work out. While the story might be to much for younger children, Walt Disney does an amazing job of incorporating humor to make a difficult subject manner still fun and enjoyable.

A young chapter book novelization of the Disney classic, with movie pictures included. I thought this might be one of the versions I read as a child, but apparently this one came out in 1991, so is just a smidge too late to have been the one.
