Sweet, touching, captivating and laugh out loud good! Just as Melanie finds the courage to pursue her dream, of owning a bakery, a repeat medical diagnosis threatens to decimate all of her plans. I love how her "tribe" rallies around her: Kamali, Cin, Mel's brother and her parents. Awesome story.

I enjoyed this read. It was such a sweet love story. I thought the characters were pretty developed and I really adored Mel and Amad's siblingship. I think the author did a great job with her first book and I like the way she writes. I look forward to reading more work by her in the future. If you're looking for a quick romantic read to curl up with ~ I recommend this!!

Quite Enjoyable

The story I just read was so nice on so many levels. Family dynamics was a focal point in the story as well as family support. A father loving his daughter too much to let her thrive on her own. A brother who'd move mountains for his sister, friends whom everything was about supporting one another, and a man who loved sweets as much as his woman...

More than enough happy tears to go around....

Wow!! This was my first time reading from this author and it won’t be my last. This was a very good book and it took me through when I found out what was wrong with Mel. I’m so happy Kam stuck by her and wasn’t willing to let her go. Even when she pushed him away. I adored Amad and Cin. I hope they have a book coming out soon. This book was everything and I would recommend it to anyone. Great job to the author.

A Rush it was…

Sugar Rush us a beautiful & well written story that plays on every emotion you have. The chemistry, bonds and strengths that the characters share and have are endearing. There were several times that I had to catch myself from crying a long with the characters. I would love to read about Ahmad & Cin's budding relationship since it would also more than likely have instances of Melanie & Kamali. Awesome addition to B. Love Publications & kudos A. Jones!

So cute! This was a really cute read. I enjoyed watching the relationship between Melanie and Kamali grow into something neither one of them expected after their run-in with each other. This was a beautifully written love story, great job A. Jones on knocking your very first release out of the park!

Sugar Rush by A. Jones was a very beautifully written love story. Mel has been groomed to follow her father's footsteps in the law firm in which he works. Mel realized later on that she isnt happy doing what her family wants her to do. So she decided to open a bakery and call her 'sugar rush'. Mel loves to bake and make everyone happy with sweets. She feels this is her true calling.

Until oneday she bumps into Kam and her whole life changed. Kam is a loving and caring man who wants to build and live life to the fullest. He doesnt believe in giving up. Mel and Kam's relationship was about trusting one another and the true importance of love as a foundation.

I love A.Jones writing, the way she tells a story is so relateable yet real. While I reading sugar rush it made me think of my own relationship with my boyfriend and how love is a big foundation for the both of us.

Sugar Rush is a great love story. It was beautiful it made me laugh and cry and think all while reading it. I love how realistic the tone and characters were. It was like sitting down having a conversation with a good friend. This novel deserves all the praise I absolutely loved and plan to read much more from A.Jones.

5 stars hands down!

Beating Cancer while finding Love

This book was pure romantic love without all the vivid sex scenes which made a great read. I love how Mel still pursued her dreams of opening a bakery even after her diagnosis. She made sure she opened a bakery with or without her parents approval. She followed her dream that she had since she was 9 years old.

I like how a simple bumping into Kam was a start to a beautiful blooming love. He courted her and stuck by her even once he found out her diagnosis. He was determined to make sure she fought the cancer and beat it. He was willing to adopt kids if they could not have any on their own and made sure she always felt sexy. She got a double mastectomy and he still said she was the most beautiful woman he ever saw, that is what I called love.

This is a great read and well articulated. I'm looking forward to more love stories from the other friends.

I need more!! Idc if it's a novella or not

I need more. Hell where is my Kam at because that man could get it lol!! I was so upset with Mel when she decided to not fight but it goes to show having the right people around can change your mindset. Just like that convo they had in the kitchen. There were some many pieces of wisdom in this book that it's hard to pinpoint just one. I need more though. Does Mel make it? What happens between Cin and Amad? I would love to know what Mel and Kem's wedding would be like!! #lovedit

Great Novella and not the same old same old tale. Melanie wasn't living her truth, when finally decides to put herself first she met with devastating news. Kam and Mel were destined to be a great couple. Mel fought and tried to push Kam away, but he wasn't having it and their love blossomed. The relationship between Mel and Amad was priceless. Everyone needs a friend like Cin. Was disappointed in her dad, but he finally came around. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Sugar Rush

A really sweet novella. I enjoyed reading this book because it focused on a women who at a young age had to endure a health crisis but with the right support system and a new love interest she was able to overcome her fear of losing a battle to live longer. No matter what obstacles we go through, those that truly love and support you will never let you down. I love Mel and Kamali relationship. When she was ready to give up, he was their to lift her up and be the support she needed to fight and not let Cancer beat her.

This book is the epitome of a couple fighting at all costs to win.
Mel has learned that her ailment (cancer) decided to return for an encore performance just when she quits her job and starts to court Kam.
Mel leaves her family in the dark about her returning ailment because she does not want to fight.
Kam knows something is troubling Mel but she pushes him away. Kam overhears Mel telling her brother about the recurrence of cancer.
Will Kam persistence pay off? Will Mel decide to fight? Will her family forgive?

Enjoyable

I really enjoyed this short. Mel and Kam were cute and just what each other needed. Kam was painted at times as too good to be true, I wish the reader could have been more privy to his issues/struggles. I also wish that the character descriptions were more detailed. I still can't quite visualize what the hero/heroine look like outside of eye color (Kam) and her length/texture (Mel). One other thing that slightly bugged me is that there was no mention of Mel ever meeting Kam's family. All in all, this was good, fast paced, and enjoyable read.

Love, faith and happiness

As I sit here crying, I'm crying tears of understanding and happiness. Being a breast cancer survivor, I know the struggle is real!! Thank you A. Jones for sharing Kamali and Melanie's story. Cancer is a frightening experience. You need to have faith to get through and a great support system. Finding love and learning to love yourself enough to fight for your life and your dreams....that is everything!! Sugar Rush is going to take you through some changes, but you will be glad you decided to read. Enjoy your reading! Blessings

I definitely have a sweet tooth!

This novella managed to make me laugh, cry, and become invested in the characters; that's a winner in my book.
I loved Kamali and how nurturing he was with Melanie. He was the perfect gentleman and I'm glad Mel allowed herself to just be with him, and let him be there for her, especially in her time of need.
I wouldn't mind reading a story about Mel's brother and her best friend.
I'll definitely keep my eye out for more work from A. Jones.

The Perfect Cure For A Sweet Tooth

I shed a few tears. My blood pressure rose every time I turned the page. This really had me holding my chest in anticipation. Then, I got to the end & was pleasantly surprised. Very good book. Couldn't even tell this was a debut novel. Felt like I was reading a book from a Romance Novel veteran. Looking forward to her next book!

I also would love to hear about Amad & Cin. I'm here for their little situation!

Mel & Kam ... Real 💘!!!

I LOVE their love. Girl meets boy, but the true pursuit of love was just so pure and authentic. This was not an overly dramatic book, but a soft genuine book about a real man pursuit of a woman with an illness. Nice, quick gentle read. I love it... Very refreshing, I'm buying it from unlimited just to read again about how we women always should be treated. Chivalry is not dead, I know I demand it, I hope you ladies do too!

Beautiful !!!!!!

I was in tears since the moment Mel met Kam, the way he loved and cared for her was admirable. Her relationship with her brother Amad would make most jealous. When Mel finally decided to follow her heart and live out her dreams was very liberating I’m glad that Dale finally came around.... Great job...

Always good to have a support system

I really enjoyed this romance story. I loved how Kam was so patient with Mel and supported her. It makes a big difference when you have a great support system and Mel had that in her circle. So glad her and her dad was able to reconcile after she told them bout her health!

Being true to yourself

I truly enjoyed this book. We all need to learn to follow our dreams. As women, we put our dreams on hold to fulfill other obligations and forget who we are. I just knew Melanie was going to die at the end. Well written, I cried multiple times. I would like to read about Ahmad and Cin

Wiping happy tears

Kam was the man. The. Man. I'd throw my Bachelorette life away if Iet him. The love and support he gave Sweets made me happy like she was a real person and my favorite cousin. Sweets and her family/friends were great characters too. I hope we get a follow up on all her friends too. I'm so happy I read this book

Sugar Rush, So Sweet!

This was such a cute, sweet read. Mel and Kam had me smiling from the time they met until the very end of their story. I love that Kam didn’t let anything get in the way of him seeing Mel, not even her! Excellent read for a debut, and I’m anxiously waiting for Amad and Cin’s story.

I wasn't ready!

I have no words. Just beautiful. Kam and Mel, dang it I didn't expect that at all. The emotions that I felt reading this were overwhelming. The conversation about fear hit home for me. Mel was stronger than she knew. Kam was placed in her life for a reason, he was her strength. Ahmad and Cin let's get it together.
