Jane M. Healy writes a book discussing the need for dinner time family talk. Not just "how was school today," but conversations that deeply invoke thought processes in all who participate in the discussion. The best part? She includes dozens of ideas of conversation starters. Our first one was, "What would life be like if we all had wheels instead of feet?" We thought on it for days as all the new possibilities and angles of life that would be affected. The kids look forward to these now.

awesome conversation starter ideas for the kids, and I've kept this book in my car for random times when we've been waiting for something.
