Unplanned

Rate this book
Is it really possible to fall in love with someone so fast? Neither Hannah or Lucas thought so before meeting, but a few months later they wonder if love is really enough. As different as day and night, they lead separate lives hundreds of miles apart. There are plenty of reasons this shouldn’t work, but one unplanned for reason that makes them want to try. Hannah - Attending the funeral of my biological father was a mistake. I barely knew that man, and he never made much effort to be a father, but why would he? I am only proof of an affair he fell into twenty-five years prior. Driving down to pay my respects is just one more mistake in a long line of many I’ve made over the past several years. I’m a failed writer, who can’t manage to hold down a real job. Until a few days ago, I thought I was going to marry to my longtime best friend, but that didn’t turn out either. The night Lucas Sutton strolls over to strike up a conversation, I am drunk, but when am I not in the evenings anymore? I’m a mess all around, and I have no idea what he sees in me. He was only supposed to be a temporary distraction from the chaos I left behind at home after being cheated on, but like everything else in my life, things don’t end up going according to plan. Lucas - We have a half-sister in common, and not much else, but there is something about Hannah Marsh that makes me forget every reason we shouldn’t be together. I’m not young, naive, or foolish enough to imagine this might end well. She’s my rebound, and I’m hers. If I was a better man, I would walk away before this blows up in both of our faces, but for some reason I can’t. What started as a casual, drunken hookup quickly evolves into so much more, and despite my best effort to keep a level head, I am falling hard and fast. I knew from the start this would likely end bad, but I never predicted how awful I would feel when it all falls apart. Three weeks to the day after Hannah came into my life, she disappears without a word, and I have to face facts. The woman I thought I was falling in love with was a mirage. I managed just fine before meeting her, and I’ll eventually learn to live without her again. That’s what I keep telling myself anyways. From the looks of things, I don’t have much choice. ***This 88,000 word stand alone romance contains no cheating, no cliffhanger, and a happily ever after***

Enjoyable story

I can't believe I got this book for free. I really enjoyed it. I'm going to buy another book by this author right now. It was a sweet love story with just the right amount of everything. Not to much sex and it wasn't erotica. Just the right amount of drama, anger, and love. I really liked the way it ended. There were no loose ends and the story took you a little further than is normally d one, I really liked that. Great job Ms. Fowler

Loved it

Unplanned is such a refreshing read! I absolutely loved it! The struggles of coming to terms with who you are in the world and finding love in the least likely of places! Hannah and Lucas have such a magnetic attraction! Highly recommend this book!

Good book

It really is a good book and I really enjoy it. But on the other hand I would have liked to know what was her “problem”, was it anxiety, depression or something all I know is it’s a mental illness.

Realistic romance

The characters are relatable and the story seems very realistic. The romance was very pg-13 and I would like to have seen more character development but overall a good read.
