Begin at the Beginning: Entry-Level Activities for New Students of English, Teacher's Manual

Rate this book
Begin at the Beginning Teacher's Manual has been written as a guide and tape script to be used with the student text Begin at the Beginning. In addition, it can also be used as a how-to manual for the teacher or tutor new at working with entry-level students. The material contained within this book is composed of two activities and text exercises. The activities have been included to introduce, enlarge upon, and maximize the effectiveness of the text exercises. Some of the activities are used to introduce new material and concepts; others supplement and reinforce material covered in the text exercises which precede them. Both kinds of activities are integral to the text material itself. The activities, moreover, have been developed to be repeated at any point within the course and as many times as is necessary to insure comprehension. Activities from a previous unit, for example, can be conducted again as a quick review before introducing new material or they can be used as extra help for less proficient or frequently absent students trying to catch up with the class. By carefully following the activities described, the teacher can help insure that the students' work with the text will be successful.
