Cuando leí la sinopsis me llamó mucho la atención porque es de ese tipo de historias clichés que disfruto leer.

Y un romance falso que después resulta no tan falso.
Cassidy y Brady son vecinos se han conocido prácticamente toda su vida, se criaron juntos al ser huérfano de madre estuvo mucho tiempo en la casa de Cassidy por lo que la mamá de ella es como su mamá.
Cuando la mamá de Cassidy sale de su segunda remisión del cáncer ella ya no tiene muchas esperanzas que no vuelva aparecer y le dice a su hija que la quiere ver feliz, establecida y con un hombre que la ame.
Cassidy quiere ver feliz a su mamá y mientras esté viva quiere darle la satisfacción de verla casada por lo que se le ocurre la brillante idea de pedirle a Brady que se case con ella explicándole todo el asunto de su mamá y pues obvio el acepta.
La historia me gustó y me fue entretenida pero me hubiera gustado otro desarrollo muchas partes no me gustó como ocurrieron las cosas, otras fueron precipitadas y por todo eso a pesar de que era un libro corto se me hizo largo.
Ahora quiero leer la historia de Josh por como quedó el final.

Me gustó mucho!!!! Hubo algunas situaciones poco creíbles y algo precipitadas pero en general no es un mal libro.

January On Fire narra la historia de Brady y Cassidy, y aunque la lectura no me resulto lenta ni aburrida, si que admito que esperaba encontrar una trama mas consistente.
Esta novela es la clasica que podia haber sido mas trascendental de haber tenido un desarrollo mas creible. Siento que muchos de los sucesos que aqui ocurren son un poco dificiles de creer, sobre todo por el ritmo al que suceden, practicamente los protagonistas pasan de 0 a 100 en un par de hojas, de no haberse visto ni hablar en años, a sentir cosas el uno por el otro.
La trama pese a ser predecible podia haber dado mas juego si la autora le hubiese exprimido todo el potencial, ademas en mi opinion, el final es muy simple, le falto chispa.
En fin, January On Fire no esta mal. Es sencilla y facil, por lo que para un dia aburrido es una opcion aceptable. No planeaba leer el siguiente pero despues de ese epilogo, creo que le dare una oportunidad cuando finalice algunos de los libros que tengo mas ansias por leer.

En realidad 3,5.
Cassidy ha estado todo este tiempo al lado de su madre en su momento más duro. Ahora que ella está en su segunda remisión quiere hacerla feliz y lo único que su madre quiere es que ella se case. Si para eso tiene que involucrar a su vecino Brady y que finja ser su prometido, incluso llegar a casarse, lo hará... Pero de verdad están fingiendo?
Me ha gustado mucho eh, no os penséis que mi nota significa que no me ha gustado. Simplemente que para tener 200 páginas se me ha hecho muy corto y muy muy rápido. Me hubiera gustado que se tomaran un poco más de tiempo para desarrollar el amor entre los protagonistas, incluso si se quiso que lo entendiéramos metiendo el hecho de que "se conocían desde que eran niños". Si, pero también es verdad que apenas se hablaban ya, simplemente porque crecieron y se distanciaron no porque se hubieran peleado. No sé, simplemente me hubiera gustado más desarrollo nada más.
En cuanto al hermano de Brady, él dice sus excusas para su comportamiento pero yo realmente llegué a pensar que era porque a él en realidad le gustaba Cassidy. Y todavía lo pienso.
Brady es un amor adorable y me encanta el compañerismo y la hermandad que tiene en el parque de bomberos ❤️
Os la recomiendo, lo cierto es que se lee super rápido así que podría valer para pasar el ratito! No hay excesivo drama (excepto si queréis llorar por la madre de Cassidy que sus discursos son para llorar) así que sin miedo!

Loved this book! " Mr. Romantic " Chase Jackson, is definitely a new author for me, and I really enjoyed this book. The dialogue and interactions between the characters is natural and the story flows seamlessly from one scene to the next. The XXX scenes are sooooo hot🔥 and give the reader a new and exciting male perspective! I will definitely read more of this author's work!

Brady and Cassidy’s story is amazing. I found it very difficult to have to put down. Brady is a firefighter who has known Cassidy since they were children. Cassidy is taking care of her mother who has cancer. As the plot unfolds you can’t help but root for them to make it to their happy ending. I’m looking forward to reading many more books by Chase. I reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Aunque todo pasó muy rápido y muy "de la nada", esta historia terminó gustandome. Aparte fue una buena introducción a los otros bomberos, así que creo que seguiré leyendo los próximos libros. Espero especialmente el de Duke, me hizo reír bastante con su fascinación por los matrimonios.

January On Fire is a very entertaining and enjoyable read. This steamy book has plenty of heart. A very charming fake marriage romance about Brady and Cassidy. Sometimes fun, sometimes sweet and often hot, I highly recommend this book. I'm posting an honest voluntary review after reading an advance copy of this book.

I am new to Chase Jackson's writing ... I was trying to explain to an author once why I find it so tough to read a fireman, military, or other such work kind of man ...I feel for the folks who does this job, work ... it so pulls at my heartstrings and I just wonder ... break my heart. how do they continue to do that work? every day? the pressure ... the scary moments? quick read for me ... I look forward to reading more from Chase. At times I did laugh .. when the firemen were being silly or light hearted .. i feel for the men or ladies who are interested, (they are your baby daddy, think you get my meaning?!) involved or going out with those people ... i guess you are a certain type of person. I am not one. I would be a nervous wreck, not sure i could even sleep. ( ;

es realmente bueno todo el drama de los bomberos ame a todos los amigos el que espero leer es el de josh y el de bryce que tiene una niña de tres años , espero realmente mas adelante un bebe de bryde y cassyde ♥♥
ellos se conocen desde niños por que son vecinos pero bryde y josh son huerfanos y bomberos ,y tienen una relacion cercana a la familia de cassyde y fue realmente bueno que apesar de que su matrimonio fue falso al final se convirtio en algo bueno y real y me gusto que bryde luchara siempre por catarina asi le decia de cariño a cassidy realmente me gusto ademas es HOTT un BOMBERO

I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through arc.
Brady was nicknamed "January" since he was first firemen of the calendar of fireman he was also quite a ladies man. Cassidy had been his neighbor since they were children.
Cassidy mother had been sick with cancer and her mother told her she wish she could be alive to see Cassidy get married. So, Cassidy thought she would ask Brady to be her fake husband. Brady was surprised when Cassidy blurted out her proposal of marriage.
She then told him the reason and since his parents were both gone Cassidy's mom always looked out for he and his brother.
Brady decides to go along with the lie helping Cassidy and her mother.
Cassidy and Brady started to get close to each other and he knew how is was feeling about Cassidy. Meanwhile Cassidy is planning out this fake wedding. Brady's brother Josh was very upset with him because of a lie they told to Cassidy's mother who by the way was getting much much better.
At a dinner with her parents when Cassidy goes outside she overhears part of a conversation that Josh was having with Brady over his choice of getting married and living a lie. Cassidy felt a pang in her heart. Will Cassidy and Brady go through with the wedding or will they break down and tell Cassidy's mom the truth before it's to late?

This was a make-you-feel-good read. There is no much angst although the h mum's had cancer.
The blurb says whatever you need to know about it. H and h know each other since they were babies but they drift apart as they grow old (logical). She has a crush on him since forever and he likes her a lot. But when her mum can't find the will to fight cancer anymore h decides to give her mum what she always wanted: to see her baby girl a bride, by asking him to marry him. He says yes (of course) but since they will be getting married for reals and there is a spark they decide to go all the way. And all they way they go until the fall for each other.
There is a small part where h goes off the grit when she hears H fighting with his younger brother about the deal- She doesn't break up with H or cancel the wedding, she just does not return his call for 5 days, but that doesn't last long cause H does the big gesture that we all want our significant other to do and wins her back.
Fun read. I do want to read the second one that is with the younger brother of H and the maid of honor and best friend of h. That will fun!!!

The beginning of the hunky calendar of Firehouse 56!
This is the first book I read from the author. I really love firemen romance genre. Who doesn’t love a strong sexy man in a uniform who’s heroic.
Brady and his crew didn’t disappoint. I love that their’s a story for them all! Brady and Cassidy have been neighbors since they were children. Her parents practically took care of Brady and his brother Josh like they were family. This book has a beautiful selfless storyline. Cassidy’s mother has cancer and she dropped everything in her own life to move back home and be her mothers support and provider in keeping her spirits up. Cassidy cooked up a crazy plan to help her mother to stop worrying about her and fight her sickness.
This couple’s chemistry was hot and magnetic.
I can’t believe the storyline’s female POV parts were written by a male author. They were so authentic how a woman feels and deals with the hard things in life. I loved this story and immediately got the whole series of these hunky firemen. I especially can’t wait to read Josh’s story. Thank you! You have a new, satisfied fan.

Very well written short story with great storyline and plot. A sweet romance. It is a nice read. Full of expanse and hotness. But absolutely worth the read. I like that the characters are relatable and likeable. A story about daring to take what you want and how to open up for the unknown things.
I love the journey towards their HEA. There are laughs, drama, passion, emotions, hot scenes, twists and lots of chemistry in this amazing story. It is written in dual POV which gives the reader much more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. Great romance with a twist and very enjoyable read though. The epilogue is very welcomed and gives the story more to it and it finishes better of than without it.

When her mom goes into remission Cass comes up with a plan to make her mom's biggest wish come true. So she asks the one person she knows will help her. Brady is ex military and now a firefighter. He's a man of honor. But as the plan takes on a life of its own, so does the passion between them. Is it real or just part of the plan? Can they trust their growing feelings? And when the truth comes out will it destroy their relationship. What will mom say when she learns the truth? Will they realize the feelings have always been there....just waiting for the right time.

January On Fire is an excellent contemporary romance by Chase Jackson. Mr. Jackson has provided readers with a well-written book loaded with phenomenal characters. Cassidy is extra worried about her mother after this round of chemo. She knows her mother wants to see her settled and married before she dies. Brady grew up next door and the hot firefighter agreed to marry Cassidy to make the woman they both adored happy. Cassidy and Brady's story is packed with drama, humor, smokin' hot sexy bits, action and just a touch of suspense. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more from Chase Jackson in the future. January On Fire is book 1 of the Firehouse #56 Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

What a great debut novel by Chase Jackson. I love firefighter romances, and when you incorporate the friends/fake-marriage-that-reveal-true-feelings scenario, all tied together in a well-written, engaging and realistic feeling story with in-depth characters, you have a hit with me.
The writing grabbed me, the story held me captive, the chemistry was smoking hot, and by the end, the characters-main and supporting-felt like family and friends. I am looking forward to reading more about the men at Firehouse 56!

BRAVO ! 😍 THE FIREFIGHTER AND THE TEACHER
AN ABSOLUTELY AWESOME DELIGHTFUL ROMANCE by first time reading from this author , Chase Jackson , he writes a fast-paced strong compelling structure storyline and well developed characters in Brady Hudson and next door neighbor Cassidy Laurent and supporting characters in Joshua , Vanessa and Fire House 56 in a exquisitely brilliant well written story about friends to lovers . I fall in love with January and Ladybug . The story is drama rom-com emotional rollar coaster provocative captivating sizzling chemistry strength of character intriguing heartfelt sweet twist turns obstacles hurdles ex-Army 101st Airborne and captivating from start to finish 💋 💖 . I love and highly recommend this book to everyone 😆 😙 . I can't wait for the next book in the series . I voluntarily leaving a review

A really good firefighter story
Brady and Cassiday grew up next door to each other. His parents died, so Cassiday's became substitutes for Brady and his younger brother, Josh. Class's mother was diagnosed with cancer. Cass quit teaching and moved back into her parent's home to take care of her. When her mother expressed a desire to see hurt married before she died, Cass talked Brady into a fake engagement. The trials they go through are often humorous, sometimes sad, and always interesting. I hope this author continues with more of the firefighters. I look forward to reading more off his work.

WOW............................BRILLIANT
I absolutely loved this story. I was pulled into it right from chapter one and stayed there right till the end, all the time watching it play out in my head.
There are some really great surprises, some you will see coming and some you won't, but they all help to make this book as good as it is.
I wanted a change from the genre I had been reading, I am so pleased that I decided to read this one.
I highly recommend this book, I don't think you would regret it.
So worth the rating I have given it.
Who doesn't like a handsome fireman.
I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

OMG what an amazing read for this debut author.
Brady (January because he was the first in the Firefighters Calendar) Is the boy next door
the one that Cassidy has crushed on forever. When he mom starts getting really sick she
tells Cassidy that her dying wish is to see her married before she passes. Cassidy comes
up with a plan, she asks Brady to pretend marry her. Will they be able to pull this off. Yes it is
pretend but real feelings start to flow. I LOVED this book. what an amazing read!

Started the book around 11pm and didn't stop until I had finished it at 4am!
This was the first book by Chase Jackson that I have read and I hope it won't be my last. Sometimes the girl/boy next door story lines end up being corny but Chase Jackson did a great job making the story believable and flow right along. If this had been series, I would have binged read them.
There was comedy and romance without either one coming off odd. I found myself smiling and picturing the characters vividly.

WOW! It's rare to get a man's take on a romance and have it also be really good. Overall quality of writing was good, but proofreading had some glitches that need to be fixed for a smoother flow. Steamy intimacy scenes were well done. Not every time does a kiss need to turn into a descriptive erotic moment, and Chase Jackson had a balance so it didn't take away from the story. Cancer is horrible and has touched most everyone in one way or another. At least here all get a very happy ending! Enjoy.
