The dictionary defines the word Trope as a common or overused theme or device. A cliche.
We define it as the greatest thing to ever exist.
If you feel the same as us, then come along for the ride! It’s over the top ridiculous fun, and it’s our gift to you. I mean, look at that cover… It’s terribly wonderful! OMG, I loved this book. I laughed my frigging a$$ off. Oh, it was totally ridiculous and stupid but so is Spaceballs and I still find myself laughing every time I watch it. Maybe these authors will start a new tend "parody romances". It was certainly a hundred times more entertaining than any of their recent efforts, that is for sure!
This hilarious and ridiculously OTT romance had me laughing out loud more times than I could count. Don’t take this story seriously, just enjoy it for what it is… A funny and quick read to cheer you up on a dreary winter day!
It's ridiculous! Totally unbelievable but it's so funny!
The first story is about Romeo and Arabella.
He's been waiting for her for years and was watching her to make sure she's always safe.
Now that he has her, someone is not happy and will do everything to keep them apart. Romeo and Arabella just need to be strong and fight for each other.
It has a lovely epilogue.
SAFETY:
Bonus Story
It's shorter than the first story but I loved this one more!
It's about Romeo's twin brother, Jericho and Cookie.
There's an auction and he auctioned himself for a good cause and in hope of finding the one for him.
He's not really interested about the bidding and then someone at the back of the room caught his attention.
Cookie grew up poor and has been saving money to have a place of her own. What she didn't expect is to find her mystery man.
I loved the epilogues! Great ending for both couples.
I laughed so hard on this one, there was practically every trope from the bodice ripper era on. It truly is the tropiest of the tropy and why not when you have an H named Trope?
The only thing missing was running through the jungle and blowing things up - but there was cannons and Alfred, so I had a great time with this.
Omg!!! This is the most ridiculous, over the top, hilarious book ever!! You can’t help but love it. I laughed my ass off and praised AR the whole way. Whenever I’m feeling down or in a funk with my books I’m going pull this out and reread it just to remember you can be silly, stupid and read books meant to bring eye rolling joy.
Typical AR novella with a hilarious spin. Anyone who takes this story seriously is demented. It is like Step Brothers or Napoleon Dynamite - it may be stupid as fuck but you just have to laugh your ass off about it.
This just so wasn't for me but since I can see what they were doing and it was stated very clearly in the blurb what I could expect it's entirely on me so I can't justify giving it a rating.
I’m all for tongue-in-cheek style but this was crap. It’s supposed to be a cute parody of romance tropes, but this was not enjoyable at all. Waste of time.
First story was weird, but fun. Love that he hasn't been with anyone since he seen her. Little om drama, but she didn't want him, he just wouldn't leave her alone. Again, it was good, but weird. Second story: Both virgins. Both stories were just weird. They won't be rereads, but they were still good and funny to read at least once.
Alexa Riley ran riot in this story. I laughed a lot at the silliness and over-the-top plot twists but still, it was one of those books you would read only once because there's not much that would cajole you into a re-read.
Too sugary. Next to creepy and please if you face this real-life situation, don't be like the heroine. That was too dangerous.
Stranger you don't know come to you when you and your friend go to some bar and bring you to his home and you swoon of what he did? Think it was a romantic encounters? Nope. Stranger who broke your house and come to bathroom when you took a bath and you think he was a prince charming? Think again, girl, please.
Too unreal. Too sugary make my teeth ache a lot. Have I mention too sugary? The whole book is.
What the hell did I just read? Like what?? This book has everything that has ever happened in any book. Well maybe not everything but there is a lot of randomness going on here. This is way beyond over the top, even for Alexa Riley. So completely ridiculous I was laughing the whole time. This book is just too ridiculous for me.
DNF@26% so the rating reflects only the part I've managed to read:
** 2-2.5 "too ridiculous" STARS **
I know, I KNOW... The authors have already told not to take it seriously and the book was already meant to be over the top silly and funny but I guess I'm just not in the mood for an absurd romcom (shrugs) or perhaps it was a tad bit TOO ridiculous because GODDAMN I honestly couldn't go through one more page.
This book was such a hot mess, and I absolutely loved it.
This was definitely one of the more memorable AR books that I've read- it was honestly just hilarious, and just so over the top, and fun to read. From the Micheal Jackson moonwalk dance battles to the bazookas that somehow fit in this dude's pocket- I will never forget this book. I'm honestly wheezing just thinking about what a mess this was, pls.
I'm still recovering from the whiplash that the book gave me, rip my brain cells for attempting to understand wtf was going on.
This book was everything! Over the top, ridiculous, unbelievable, and so freaking funny. It is a book best read with a grain of salt; it is by no means meant to be anything other the a satire. It is the book equivalent of a B Hollywood action/romance film. I loved every word, the humor, and dilogue , the cultural references; it was perfection. I have not laughed this hard in a long time. I will be reading this again. There were so many lines that I wanted to share, but they are not review appropiate. It was just a over the top good time.
This was ridiculous but at the same time was so funny I couldn't hold my tummy enough as it hurt from all the laughing. Don't read if u have real expectations, just dive in and enjoy yourself.
I read this as a weekly email serial as it was sent by the author via their newsletter. I have to start by saying this was over the top hilarious, but when you read Alexa Riley, you know what you get. I laughed out loud so much. Take it for what it is, a funny, hilarious over the top romance.
