I like John's books because they give you quick views of Norwegian highlights so it has a light feel too it but you learn things you might not know or would get lost in a bigger book.

Quick History of Norway

The stories are interesting and the photos are historical. I'd like to visit Norway and use this book as a guide.

Read this prior to my trip. It gives historical background of the people and culture of Norway. They were very closely tied to Denmark and Sweden. I can now go with a sense of their history.
