New York Times bestselling author Melody Anne’s novel of dangerous secrets, dark pasts, and sizzling heat.

No one would guess that dedicated teacher Arden Forbes is a billionaire. His profession gives him a purpose that wealth alone can’t provide. He’s developing another passion, too, for Keera Thompson, the new principal. She’s beautiful, enigmatic, guarded, and—after a series of violent school break-ins—in need of protection. And Arden is eager to supply it. But what he wants most is to unearth the mysteries that surround her.

After a troubling past, Keera thought she’d be safe in this sleepy town and that she’d never be shaken again. Yet nothing has unsettled Keera more than her desire for Arden—honorable, gorgeous, and available when she craves him. But despite their explosive chemistry, when it comes to letting Arden in, Keera has her limits…and her secrets.

As the threats escalate, Keera fears that everything she’s been running from is closing in, and there’s only one man to trust. But will the truth drive Arden away—or will it bring the two closer than ever before?

Arden is the second installment in the Undercover Billionaire series. I honestly couldn't tell you what happened in the previous book since I last read it in 2018. You'd think that me noticing this would make me want to re-read it, but you would be dead wrong. Maybe one day I'll jump into the first book again.

In this, you will meet Arden and Keera. He is undercover and currently working as a high school teacher. No one would ever guess he worth billions but then again, no one would ever think he's undercover either. Then there's Keera who is the principle and his boss. Kind of.

Lots of drama and secrets throughout this book. I mostly came for the steamy romance though. Not even going to lie about that because it's a given. I definitely enjoyed their chemistry and steamy scenes. Probably way too much but details.

Other than that, the big villain reveal was okay and somewhat predictable. Definitely liked listening to this book and will probably jump into the next one if it's available on audible.

****ARC was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.****

I really wanted to love this one...

The storyline is actually great! The plot with Arden who is a high school history teacher and football coach is actually great. I'm actually not sure how he is a billionaire...probably because his family is loaded and he inherited money? Or his family owns a company and they get money from it? I can't remember because maybe I skimmed this part of the story or the info wasn't provided by the author (though I did a search again and STILL found no information on why the Forbes family is rich!). I am a little confused by the series title because Arden is supposed to be an Undercover Billionaire, but in the small town of Edmonds, Washington everyone knows that the entire Forbes family is wealthy (again, not sure why).

Keera is the new school principal at Edmonds high school and wants to make a difference in the lives of the students at the school. She was glad to move from a busy school to a smaller school where she could better affect change. She has somewhat a secret past and all unfolds in the story. The issue I had was I felt that there was too much hinting for most of the story that at the end when all was revealed it fell a little flat for me and that things were wrapped up so quickly at the end. And some things weren't even wrapped up. Maybe we will find out about the information from the piece of paper from her deceased brother in Owen's book?

The plot itself would've been great if the execution was also there, but the words that the author used didn't really reel me into the story. Halfway through the book, I had gotten frustrated and started skimming through the book to get finished faster. I'm not really sure if I will even read Owen's story, but if it is provided in Kindle Unlimited I may give it a try. I am really interested in Declan's story...the brother in the FBI.

Disclaimer -
I didn't read the first installment in this series. Although after reading this, I don't feel as though it's necessary to have read it, I mention it because maybe THIS is why I had a hard time getting in to it....maybe.

Keera is the new principle at the local high school. She's independent and has worked really hard to get where she is in life, especially considering her childhood. But when there's a late night break in to her school office and she learns that there is a drug problem on campus, she quickly realizes that she needs help.

Arden in a teacher at the high school. He's also the football coach and billionaire hunk, although everyone knows he's loaded (this is the part of the series title I don't get, he's undercover, but I digress). When his brother drops a service dog at his doorstep and insists he helps solve the drug problem on campus, he doesn't really have much say. And then when Keera's life becomes in danger, he's more than happy to step in and help any way he can.

I understand that there is character build up. I understand that there is story build up. What I didn't understand is how this book ran hot and cold for me. One minute these two are flirting and going at it. The next, ice age. Then when the drama actually starts to unfold, I felt as though the chemistry between the two wasn't real. Especially considering they had already been together. Keera seemed to play the forever damsel in distress while Arden was the ever loving hero.

★★ 2.5 stars! ★★

Unfortunately, this book just didn't work for me. I found the plot overwrought with drama and there was a disappointing lack of chemistry between the hero and heroine. I was also given whiplash from the hot and cold feelings and the overabundance of unnecessary drama. I made it to the end to see how the suspense resolved, but there may have been a lot of skimming involved.

Another amazing book by Melody Anne!!! I just really love her books and Arden was no exception. Poor Keera she has been dealt a shi*ty hand in life but she is a trooper and is trying to be a better person and overcome her past but like they say you can never outrun your past. Keera must face her past in order to move forward and achieve the future that she wants. Good thing she has Arden and the Forbes family at her side. Arden might not have wanted to be involved with someone with baggage but as soon as he realizes that Keera is his future he will stop at nothing to protect her and keep her safe. Arden was a great, fun read and I was hooked from the very beginning. This is a must read and I can’t wait to read Owens and Declan’s story.

I have to say I was disappointed in Arden's story it was like Melody Anne didn't write it.

the first problem for me at the end of book 1 the 3 mischevious matchmakers were talking about Declan and he was referred to as the youngest of the Forbes brothers, then at the beginning of this book Declan was written in as the eldest brother this just makes it damn confusing but wait there was more, When the girls came over to get Keera ready for the night out Angela introduces Dakota but earlier in the story when Arden and Keera were at the park he said to her she had already met his sister Dakota????? again confusing I also have to say mentioning a Ruth Cardello book in the first story was funny this time it seemed irrelevant and just an advertisement so that turned me off a bit as well.

This story didn't have any continuity that I have found in the previous series by Melody Anne and it's also the very first of her story's I didn't really enjoy and really dislike giving low star reviews but there was no getting past my disappointment on this one.

I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

This book can be read as a standalone, but you might want to read book 1 just to tie everything together.

Arden is happy coaching football and teaching in his home town. He also has a slight crush on the new school principal. When his brother comes to him and discloses that there is a drug issue within the school, Arden is both sad and angry. Arden is also slightly frustrated that his brother drops Max, a retired police dog off too. Arden and Max's job - to sniff out if there are drugs at the school.

Keera has a complicated past. She is trying to move past that, but when her past collides with her present, Keera will have to confide and figure out if someone is trying to hurt her directly or is just using her past to hurt the community.

Arden is sweet when it comes to dealing with Keera. He is also very protective of her. Keera is a strong woman who has overcome her past in order to be who she is now. When she is confronted with that past, she will experience frustration and loss all over. Keera will lean on Arden for that.

This was a sweet story with a unique twist. While it wasn't my favorite when it comes to mystery-romances, it is a quick read that is entertaining.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the second in the series, although it links in with previous series too. It could be read as a stand-alone, but you will probably want to read Kian’s story as soon as you finish Arden.

Living life as a secondary school teacher and football coach, Arden is happy with his life, and the philanthropic ways taught him by his parents. But when new Principal, Keera finds herself and the school in danger, he steps in. And finds that she may just be the woman with whom he wants a future.

Keera has had a pretty unusual and difficult family life and now she is a self made and solitary woman. In a competitive world, with a lot to prove she is very independent. So when Arden steps up she isn’t sure how to react. She however recognises that there is a chemistry between them that may need to be explored. Pity her life is going crazy and he and his FBI brother are constantly putting out fires.

The drama is small town, but with imported drug dealer chaos, and the resolution brings drama of its own. I loved the complications of family, issues of wealth and best of all, darling ex-police dog Max.

Lovely story with a perfect ending and much more excitement to come from the rest of the as yet unpaired brothers.

Ps just one thing I didn’t get - what happened to Angela at the end?

She needs a hero. What she finds is a soulmate. Arden tends to be the man people overlook. His brain is his greatest weapon, but It's his heart that could be they key to his undoing. Keera haunts his every waking moment, but the secrets she keeps are making her life a living hell. They don't go looking for trouble. Somehow it seems to find them. Will the ultimate non hero be smart enough to save the day? Arden is a thriller with that has the heart of a champion and the smarts to back it up.

The story was cute, but very predictable. The who and why was figured out in the first few chapters of the book. The ending for the bad guy felt repetitive since it was already used. The book felt slow at times, often dragging in detail.

Great book and series. Keera is a very strong heroine and Arden is definitely a strong hero. I must say I fell in love with Max though and adore the "conversations" between him and Arden. Looking forward to the next book.

A billionaire teacher and a retired police dog, cue the ahhhs. Arden was great with kids and loved what he did. That was kind of irresistible. Add a police dog that was retired before his time and you have a match to melt all hearts. This one took the mystery and intrigue up a notch. I was thinking this small quiet town is not so quiet anymore.

**trigger warning** suicide

Keera is the new principle at the local high school just wanting to do her job and fit in. She hesitated to take the job here because several years ago, her little brother was murdered here. As the daughter of a drug kingpin she's not proud of the life her father lived or the way he walked away from his family when the authorities got close.

Arden is a history teacher and the football coach at the high school. Its all that he ever wanted to do. Everyone in town knows he doesn't have to work because his family has money, but that doesn't matter to him. He likes knowing that he's having a positive impact on his community in a meaningful way.

When Keera is hurt at school, Arden finds that it bothers him on a deeper level. There's something about April that calls to his soul, that soothes his rough edges. Keera likes Arden but knows that she's out of his league. She doesn't want to tell him about her messed up family but the more she gets to know him, the more she realizes that she can trust him with her secrets. Especially when the threats against her get even more serious.

Keera's emotional upset at the death of her father and her subsequent assault is heart-wrenching. Arden's careful tenderness with Keera is great and the way he sees to her comfort is endearing.

This was book 2 I believe in this latest series by Melody Anne and she once again keeps us guessing with what is really going on in this book. Just who is after Keera and why are they so determined to get to her? Well most of these questions are answered but not fully, we are left with even more questions about just what these people were after and why it’s so important that no one gets to it.

Max stole the show for me in this book...I loved that he had such a personality especially for a former police dog. They usually seem so intense when you see them so for this dog to have such an amazing personality in this made my day.

I was quite upset that after everything happens that we don’t hear anymore about Angela...she was there in the house with Keera but we never hear anything after about if she was checked out or had a concussion....nothing was said and I was hoping we would see a more vulnerable side to Declan when he heard or saw what happened to her...(these two need to get together!)

I’m pretty sure Owen’s book will be next and hopefully we get the rest of the answers we were left with at the end of this book.

This book captured my heart instantly because there is something I love about men whose primary nature is to protect and defend the people they care about. Keera is a school principal who has barely been in the town for a month before things start to go wrong.

Arden is a sports coach and his brother apprises him of a tip that something is not quite right in the school which also ends up being a sneaky ploy to get Arden to adopt a police dog called Max. I’m calling it now, Max is mine. His actions with Arden and how they are completely opposite to his actions with Keera made me laugh so many times. There is something very special about the bond between a human and an animal. A bond that is not to be taken for granted.

The school has a drug problem which in a sinister way links to Keera. This mystery is a plotline that goes through the entire story and whatever you think it may be, you’re probably off track. I was expecting one element of it but not the rest. The true reasoning about Keera being in the job and who brought her there and why they did are secrets you get to uncover.

The sexual tension and chemistry between Keera & Arden is off the charts, I want myself an Arden, or even any of the Forbes, I am not fussy. The family unit in the Forbes family is something I’m so envious of, this book has it all; tension, romance, drama, heartache and family. I genuinely would recommend to everyone. You don’t even have to have read the first book but I think you should because you’d miss out on another amazing story if you didn’t.

The mystery hopefully continues to be unraveled in the next book. Enjoyed the suspense and the love between Keera and Arden. And yes Max. Love that dog but then I'm partial to German Shepherd having grown up with one.

Arden’s story was so much better than Kian’s. Filled with suspense and mystery from start to finish, I was hooked. Add in a well trained, lovable dog that seems to have a human-like personality? Gold!!

I was instantly drawn in to Arden’s character. Having met him in the previous book, there was something about his character that spoke to me. As with all of the Forbes siblings, the bank accounts are extensive but their career choices are an extension of who they are and in each case those shoes professions that serve their community. In Arden’s case he became a teacher/couch. He takes pride in educating children in the high school he attended. He’s well respect and loves his job

But coincidentally, things start to happen at the school that seem connected to the new and beautiful school principal. Arden is faced with protecting his school and its students, as well as determining if Keera is the threat or in need of his protection as well.

This story was filled with suspense and passion and had me invested from start to finish.

** I was very fortunate to win Arden (Undercover Billionaire, #2) in a Goodreads giveaway for an honest review no compensation was given.**
Arden is the second book in this series about the incredibly hot Forbes' brothers and the women that tame them. I did read the first book in this series and really liked that one also, but if you are just picking up this series, with the second book, you will not be confused or lost. Ms. Anne does a good job of explaining past characters. Be warned, you will want to go back and read Kian! I always enjoy Ms. Anne writing style, she has the ability to put the reader into the mindset of the main characters and this enables the reader to really connect with them.
Arden is a billionaire, but being a high school history teacher gives his life real meaning. He comes from a supportive and loving family. Keera has been the principal at the high school for about a month, and has been avoiding Arden. She is not looking for a relationship. Something has happen in her past that has left her broken and distrustful of people, especially a totally hot history teacher who just happens to also be the football coach with great abs. Ahh, and then there is Max, -who I fell in love with- his soft brown eyes and complete devotion to Keera won me over, and that is all I am will to say on that subject.
There were some very suspenseful parts to this book and it definitely kept me reading. Keera has secrets and her past just might be catching up with her. There is an abundance of sexual tension between Arden and Keera and a bit of jealousy between Arden and Max. So, will Keera let Arden not only into her bed but into her life??? This was a suspenseful, action filled book, with scorching heat. My honest opinion... this book is well worth your time. Hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

Romantic suspense following super hot, Mr Nice Guy, billionaire history teacher, Arden Forbes as he gets to know the new headteacher Keera Thompson. They work together to try and figure out if someone is trying to kill Keera, and if there’s an actual drugs ring in their sleepy town. Whilst I thought the story had lots of potential, I couldn’t gel particularly with Keera, maybe it was because she didn’t fall for the goodness, and the hotness, that was Arden Forbes, how could she not trust him? I found some of the dialogue and the sexy scenes to be a bit cheesy in places, so much so that I was inwardly cringing. I did however love retired police dog Max, and the scenes that included him were cute and funny. All together a good read, with some great twists and turns. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This started straight away. A break in to the school and drugs found inside almost immediately.

I didn’t really “get” the Keera and Arden relationship though. She had already been there a while when all this started. They noticed each other straight away. I am unsure why it took a dog, a break in etc for them to finally get together.

I found the mystery surrounding Keera’s family a bit boring and honestly wasn’t that bothered by what the “bad guys” had on her. I also couldn’t help but think she wasn’t giving Arden enough credit to his character when it came down to it.

In the end I found this is be slow, not particularly anti-climatic or much of a mystery. I wasn’t sucked in by the love story either so for me this was just an average read.

Arden, Arden, Arden. Oh how I tried to like you.

After the first chapter the characters intrigued me enough I had to jump on my Kindle and find Brother number 1 and loved it. So when it came time to start reading this again I was excited.

It might have been me but I could not like Arden and the new principle with all the problems. Even with the mystery of who did what and why.

I do have to say I loved Max. That canine had more personality and honestly I preferred him over all the others.

That's my review. I might try reading this another time. I received this from a goodreads Giveaway and am providing my honest review. Book 3 is a maybe. The author did a great job on the first brother/book. Oh and the cover art is yummy. So all good there. Arden might get a personality lift later on however for right now it is what it is.

Didn’t quite grab me and doesn’t answer WHY. Need to read the next book to get the answers.
Once again a good story about humble billionaires working hard jobs that was overly long and ruined by a weak heroine.
Keera was once again a weak heroine, thinking herself not good enough for the Forbes family.
Having read this straight after book 1, a few facts were incorrect between the books.
This book actually ends with no answers as to why certain things happened.
I believe one has to read the next book to find out which is annoying.
Read through KU so no loss except my time. Will be reading the next book to get answers.

Arden is the second book to the Undercover Billionaire series by Melody Anne, but it can be read as stand-alone. Arden was in a school as a teacher and Keera is the new principal there. After some violent events took place, Arden is set on protecting her and they finally act on their feelings for each other. Add a dog to the mix and you have the ingredients for a good story and it was. It had some elements that were not that good, but most books do and overall I liked this one.

Very repetitive. Frustrated with the heroine never trusting her gut... ever. This is a bad situation and yet she still walks into it. Like I know you want her to get saved but at certain point I’m like here we go AGAIN.
I was just overall disappointed.
