Holly: I just dumped my boyfriend, but then he did cheat on me, in the worst way possible. And after what he did, I’m not sure I’m ever going to be able to trust a man again…
Coming back from what was supposed to be a romantic week away, to my first day in CID, I’m unexpectedly put on a murder case, and I’m going undercover… with an American. He’s the original tall, dark and handsome, with eyes I could just melt into. And not only that, just when my defences are at an all-time low, I have to pretend to be his wife…
Todd: My dad was a cop. I’m a cop. But my dad was killed in the line of duty and I watched my mom fall apart. So, I’ve never been in a relationship. I can’t risk taking on that kind of responsibility…
I’ve been sent to London to go undercover, but I won’t be working alone. I’m gonna be teamed with a female officer… and she’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. Not only that, she’s vulnerable, sad and kinda lonely and, for some reason, that bothers me. I want to make it right. I want to protect her. I want to make her happy. Dammit, I just want her…
When Todd finally falls in love, it seems he falls hard, and fast. But is he asking too much of Holly? Is she ready to love again? And when their feelings are put to the test, who will be found wanting?
A dual POV story, with graphic sex scenes and adult language.
Finding Todd is the fourth and final book in the Escaping the Past series, but can be read as a stand-alone story, with no cliff-hanger and a guaranteed HEA.
Suzie writes steamy and contemporary romances, with the kind of book boyfriends every woman needs in her life.
When she’s not writing, she likes nothing more than to relax with a coffee, while thinking up new storylines, and to pretend that plate of crumbs had absolutely nothing to do with her. Nothing whatsoever.
She lives in wedded bliss with the only man she’s ever loved… and their crazy cat.
This is the last of the 4 gorgeous friends who meet the love of their lives. Todd is the Boston cop who never wanted to fall in love as he never wanted them to receive a call saying he was killed on duty as that’s what happened to his Dad and it broke his Mom. Holly has been cheated on by her long term boyfriend and doesn’t trust any man. They work undercover together to find a serial killer and Todd is falling for her from day one. Holly did annoy me a bit with her mistrust as Todd even bought ice cream right from day one as he knew she would need it (you see why). He never gave her any reason not to trust him but she just kept talking about her ex which I can understand would annoy someone interested in being with you. Once she gets her act together they are good together and Todd is so loving and respectful with her and wow I hated her sister and mother they were awful characters but her Dad was sweet. It’s a pity you didn’t cover their wedding in the epilogue as it would have been so good with her having Grace, Megan and Jamie as bridesmaids but not her sister lol 😂 I really enjoyed this series and would definitely recommend it.
Absolutely Loved this series. Matt & Todd I’d say were my favourite followed by Luke & then Will last. It’s based mainly on finding the one, your soulmate. Purely by chance & interweaving their lives together. The good, the bad & the destructed. But also about friendship & family & how important that friendship has on your life as it’s the family you actually choose. Not the family that you’re born into & have to tolerate
Todd is sent to the UK to go undercover and catch the killer. He doesn’t know it but he is to pose as a married couple with Holly. She is new to the team and has just gone through an awful breakup so living full time with a man she has just met might not be the best thing
I struggled with this book. I hate miscommunication but I felt off. I wanted her to be a bit stronger, I didn’t feel she was good at her job which was quite a big part of the book.
Todd is the last of the four to fall. Holly is a coworker Luke goes undercover with on an assignment. Possibly pretending to be married might just be a bit to close to home. Love is not something he was looking for but it is what he found with Holly. Can they let the walls down enough to give it a chance?
Loved all the books and the storyline of each one beautiful friendships and lots of twists and turns would have loved a bonus scene for Will and Todd do they have kids?
I read all 4 books straight after each other, very entertaining loved all the main characters and everything they had to ensure. Brilliant writing can't wait for more of the same
