I thought no fictional family could get better than the Bridgertons.

Easily a 5 star read !
Even though this was only about 28 pages.. I loved it. I was saving it for when I really needed some Hathaway love. Kev and Win have a serious place I my heart.. So does Beatrix! She kills me. I love her love for animals and boy did we get it in here. Kev is such an awesome, hardcore male. I seriously love him. And the Hathaway humour is very much present! I actually found myself laughing out loud so many times in this short story.
I NEED MORE LISA KLEYPAS.
She is like a drug.. I'll always need more!

While the title is slightly misleading because this book revolves around Beatrix more than anyone else, this was such a sweet look at Kev and Win's wedding ceremony and a chance to revisit some of our favorite Hathaway characters.
I wish I had read this in order because I couldn't help but miss characters like Harry Rutledge, Catherine, Christopher and others we've come to love.
For a mere 27 pages, this story was full of charm and humor the way only Lisa Kleypas can do it and kept me smiling the entire time and *sighing* often.

What a bunch of hokey, half-assed, sloppy, slapstick romance “writing”:-/ Why do authors do this? Yeah it was free and I can understand if it’s not as polished but this was also a total waste of time.
This is supposed to be a short story about Win and Merripen’s wedding whose story is told in Seduce Me at Sunrise. Win is still the lovely (read “annoying”)delicate fairy-like creature who’s in love with that lummox Merripen. The wedding though is more of a backdrop than a story to Beatrix’s St Francis of Assisi sideshow (!) Here we get even more irritating details about Bea and how she can communicate with animals. From the wounded owl to the mistreated elephant, it’s just so eye-rollingly dumb :-/ She walks away with an elephant for ***sake and manages to hide the thing! But during the wedding (that has every inane catastrophe after another happening prior to the ceremony) the “little critter” pops up and no one’s freaking out (!) I think it was supposed to be an “awww, wasn’t that so just cute when he tugged off the veil hi hi hi” scene ---gag gag gag :-/ This is pretty much a set up for Bea’s story under the guise of saying it’s about Win and Merripen. Sure it goes back to them at the end with some gypsy wedding night tradition that comes off as lame and seriously trying too hard to “feel the luv” but it’s just so poorly put together.
Authors do such a disservice to their readers when they try to fob off any old crap thinking that it will be loved by everyone because they wrote it. Well this is a mishmash of drivel if you ask me, no wonder it’s free :-/ If you don’t read this you’re not missing a thing, except for maybe aggravation :-o

This was a nice, quick and free "fix" for fans of the Hathaways series. It was mostly focused on Beatrix, the animal-lover quirky Hathaway sister, and not on Merripen and Win as I had expected.

Excuse me, but how is this my first time reading this utterly delightful Hathaway short story?? I'm actually so surprised that I hadn't read it before! And I've reread this series multiple times in the past!!
This short story was SO FREAKING CUTE!! It should be read right after Seduce Me At Sunrise. Win and Kev are getting ready for their Christian wedding (the Roma celebrations happened at the end of Seduce Me At Sunrise). Leo's comment about elephants in Love In The Afternoon makes a lot more sense now that I've read this short story LOL.
To summarize: this is a short story about the Hathaway family and a baby elephant named Ollie. And I loved EVERY SINGLE WORD.

"He adored her with an intensity that approached worship."-THIS AINT NEVA LIED. Merripen is the most worshiping, loving hero I've ever met. Especially in his own story. Win was the one that caused problems for me in their own book. But anyway, this was a cute little short story that took me entirely too long to finish because I kept putting it off and doing everything else. I liked it. It wasn't anything special. But at least the family still felt like the family.

In just 30 pages, this story was filled with magic and humor in the way only Lisa Kleypas can deliver it had me smiling the entire time and sighing a lot.
The book focuses more on Beatrix than anyone else, offering a lovely glimpse into Kev and Win’s wedding.
Oh, Kev such a wonderful, intense man. I truly adore him.
And of course, the Hathaway humor was very much alive and shining.

"I'm eager for the wedding night," she told him breathlessly.
A sound of amusement rustled in his chest. "Why? Do you think I have something out of the ordinary planned for you?" A grin tugged at his lips as he felt her nod against his throat. "Perhaps I do," he murmured. "There are things I haven't shown you yet."
Win drew back to give a look of wide-eyed surprise. "We haven't done everything?" she asked.
Kev shook his head.
Her flush deepened, and she gave a disconcerted laugh. "Well, now I'm cross with you. I've been feeling very worldly and experienced, and now you tell me that I'm still a novice?"

With this cute little short story, you can read about Win and Kev’s wedding day. God, I love them soo much! So to be able to read anything with them in it makes me smile.
Everyone makes an appearance so it’s a fun and obviously crazy time! There’s lots of love and laughter and even an elephant.
Anything Kleypas writes is amazing and this is no exception!

4.5 stars. And that is only because it was so short and I want more :) This is another one of the Hathaway stories I read with a stupid grin on my face through the whole thing. I love that it set up Beatrix to be able to be free to find a husband of her choosing without all the fuss of the times. I'm looking forward to seeing who she ends up with...hopefully someone who's a vet ;)

Meh. Not worth it. Not really about the wedding so much as it is to a set up for a Beatrix book. Very unromatic. Not at all what I expected. Wedding night was a gypt too.
PS it is only 28 pages and I had to read it on my computer. Could not find a kindle edition. Glad it was free.

I liked it, although it was clearly fanservice. I enjoyed it. I believe this should have been included in the previous book to enhance the narrative and strengthen Kev and Win's love story. Furthermore, BEATRIX IS THE BEST CHARACTER EVER! I LOVE HER SO MUCH! SHE IS A GEM!!!!!

Merripen vio el caos en el granero con ardiente furia.
—¡Silencio! —rigió él.
Todo el mundo se calló. Incluso el elefante.
—Durante próximos diez minutos —advirtió Merripen a todos los concurrentes—, nadie se moverá, hablará, ni siquiera respirará. Todo esto será aclarado después del mediodía. Por el momento, quienquiera que interrumpa esta ceremonia se encontrará tirado de cabeza en el recipiente de grano más cercano.
—Silencio —dijo Merripen, haciendo un gesto de alto con la mano. Manteniendo la mirada en Fulloway, Merripen hizo una pausa mientras Win se paraba de puntillas para susurrarle algo en el oído. Él sonrió tristemente—. Lo que tú pidas —murmuró él. Caminando hacia adelante, Merripen se interpuso entre Fulloway y el elefante—. Parece que a mi esposa… —Vaciló casi imperceptiblemente, pareciendo saborear las dos últimas palabras—, le gustaría tener al elefante como regalo de bodas. Lo cual significa que negociaremos por él.
—No deseo negociar —dijo Fulloway—. Él es el único elefante que me queda y…
—Ha entendido mal —interrumpió Merripen quedamente—. No le estoy preguntando si podemos negociar, le informo que lo haremos.

Ohmygosh! That was adorable!
Don't be misled: this is not just about Win and Kev's wedding: it involves practically all the Hathaways (save perhaps Poppy. Strange that she doesn't show up here...).
Can you imagine it??
The only grumble I had was that while it was free, I would've been more than happy to pay for the privilege of owning this novella in hard copy, but alas. I'll just have to make do with the books in the series. ;)

Salvo si algo de lo que pasa aquí (que es bien poco) aporta algo en alguno de los libros siguientes, poco aporta esta historia. La Kleypas las sabe hacer más cuquis.
