He's making my life difficult, and I'm positive he only comes to work to annoy me. I contemplate quitting just because of him. That is until I realize who he really is. A famous wedding photographer whose clientele ranks among the rich and famous. Getting Elliott Warren to be your photographer comes with a price tag and it just so happens my best friend has been trying to book him for her wedding.
The dilemma?
He’s so famous that asking him to take her wedding photos is like asking Michelangelo to paint your apartment. I can’t let my best friend down.
The deal?
Go on a date with him and he’ll take the photos. It's supposed to be a simple business transaction.
Pfft. Impossible. Not when you're dealing with someone as devastatingly attractive as him.
Just when I think I have it under control, he makes his next deal. And this time, I find it even harder to resist. He knows exactly how to deal.
Authors Note: A portion of How to Deal was previously released as a novella titled Deal in 2014. How to Deal is now a full-length novel and includes brand new material to complete the ending of Tathan and Amalie.

Everyone has a deal. A reason as to why they are the way they are.
Amalie has been hurt one time too many, her boyfriend cheated on her, while her father was diagnosed with cancer and later on she lost the only person that mattered. After that she swarn off men, at her young age of 23, she decided she doesn't want nor need them and she still doesn't know how her life should turn to be.
And he doesn't make it easy on her either. The constant in her everyday life, her co-worker, her neighbour, her temptation-Tathan Elliot Madsen.
He doesn't give up. And the more she steers clear, he's more persistant. And the worst thing is, if so, he is, in fact a good guy and it's only a matter of time, Amalie is going to realize that not every guy is a cheating, unworthy bastard.
And Tathan will show her, there's more than undeniable chemistry between them, and that a good guy has been standing right there in front of her, solid and worthy, all along...and this final time, he won't take no for an answer.
I love Shey's books and I ve been her fan ever since I've read and absolutely had a blast with Bad husband my review HERE
I'm just gonna say that I'm not disappointed at all, in fact, it rarely happens I get swept off my feet by a character that is a swooning material...lol
I do not swoon, dammit!
But I did here...and that's a winning ticket for a pleasant joyride right here!
Tathan is a cocky one, “you know, I really wasn’t asking for the dance.” He laughs under his breath. “I was just being kind. I think you know I was demanding a dance.” Tathan is just too sexy for his own good, “but if you keep that up, and the moaning, I’m going to test out the sturdiness of this table. Eff the eating. I’ll eat—” When you let Amalie's beast out there's no stopping her, "...I straddle him. “I meant that in a good way, Tathan. Now how long does this beast take to get ready again?” I gesture toward his monster between my legs." I loved this book, Tathan and Amalie were made for each other, they're both very passionate people.
This book had it all. I am a big fan of Shey Stahl ever since I ran across and then devoured her Torqued Series. I have read several of her books since then, and she never disappoints. In How to Deal, the two main characters are Amalie and Tathan. Even their names are sexy. Amalie doesn't want anything to do with Tathan, and his manwhore ways, even though she secretly has a thing for him, she will never tell. He asks her out all the time, but after hearing all chubby and sweet cheeks and lizard lips going into details of their encounters with him, she doesn't want anything to do with him. She has been hurt before and she won't allow herself to be hurt again. Her best friend is getting married and has been trying to get in contact with this amazing photographer to take the photos, and guess what, Tathan Madsen is that photographer, and when it comes out, the only way he will take those photos for Casey's wedding is if Amalie will agree to go on one date with him. What happens, well you have to read it because I am not going to spoil it for anybody. But it is full of sexual tension and the things that come out of Tathan's mouth just make you want to swoon. And the things that come out of Amalie's mouth, most of the time make you want to cringe. But it is hilarious. The book flows smoothly and the characters are very well developed and they are all likeable characters. The scene stealer in this book is Oliver. Spoiled puppy. This was a really great book and Shey Stahl is an author I never hesitate to one click! This was just a very fun book!
Absolutely a wonderful frienimes to lovers book! You won't want to miss this feel good book! Originally this book was titled The Deal. But Stahl added words and an ending that we were all wanting! And it was worth the wait! Oh my goodness! Tathan is a man you love to hate and Amalie is such a funny girl. You can't help but love her and her little dog too! Such a feel good book with scorching love scenes and emotional moments that will have you feeling each word you read!
This was ok. A slow burn romance totally told from the female's perspective. There inlies a big problem I had with it, I didn't really like the heroine that much. At times, I felt the author was trying too hard to make the heroine witty. Much of the time failing, as I felt she came off as mean more than sassy. I really didn't understand why Tathan was so enamored with her -- seriously his attraction was never explained -- because she was so nasty to him. Her reasons for constantly pushing him away were dumb.
A lot of new chapters picked up exactly where the last one left off, this was problematic with the ending. A time jump would have worked better here. I liked the Hero, yet it was too insta love on his part and he was a bit of a doormat. For the life of me I honestly couldn't understand his pursuit of her. An epilogue should have been written.
3.5 stars. Amalie has sworn off men, relationships and love. She wants no part of it after having been burned during a low point in her life. So no matter how tempting Tathan Madsen seems, she isn't giving into his advances or swayed by his charms. But he will not stop trying to get her to agree to go on a date with him, completely undeterred. I liked Amalie, she had an edge to her that was entertaining, but sometimes she went a bit overboard with how resistant and nearly rude she was. As for Tathan, it was impossible not to like him, but sometimes he seemed too perfect in the way he pursued Amalie. If you're looking for a story with a woman who ignores a guy's relentless advances until he wears her down and then sweeps her off her feet, then this is the story for you.
Refreshing, fun; lots of will they won’t they. A completely swoon worthy leading man and a bitchy down with love heroine. This was just what I needed. I really didn’t want to like Tatiana as he was almost too good to be true. I enjoyed our feisty heroine. She did everything she could not to fall for Tatiana. He had everything and she just couldn’t stay away. Eventually she was worn down. Her bff wanted wedding shots to die for so she had to give him one date!! I loved the way he wheedled his way into her all existence. Such a refreshing read. A big fat five stars for me. A great read💕💕😎
Absolutely love the revised version of the story. Couldn't have asked for a better ending, it's the one I've been waiting for!!! How to Deal is a super fun read! Laughed from beginning to end. Between the yummy Tathan and his tormenting ways, Amalie's crazy best friends Zane and Casey, then top that off Amalie and her interesting use of office supplies. I couldn't stop laughing. I may work in a restaurant but we do have office supplies, might just have to adopt some of her ways. lol Loved this book five full fun loving stars! Thanks again Shey :)
I never got a chance to read the original story but after reading how to deal I'm glad that I didn't get a chance to because I have a feeling that I would be left wanting to read the end of their story, even though it was a short book I loved it. Sheys books are tthe reason I fell in love with reading again and I absolutely cannot wait to read the next one she writes. Thank you Shey
I did enjoyed it even though the heroine was annoying me often with running away TOO MANY TIMES and her throwing to many F*cks (which normally I don't mind at all) at hero who didn't deserved them.
I love hero he was sweet, caring and wicked at the same time!
It was easy to predict all the twist in the book but it was still enjoyable and sexy!
The main motto of this book is - Don't judge the book by it's cover!!!
I admit, at first I found him too persistent and a bit much...and his name was irritating beyond belief. But as the story progressed, I really enjoyed it. I thought the banter was good, the chemistry was great, and the progression of the story well done. It was also great to read about a guy who wasn’t a manwhore, reformed manwhore, bad boy, etc etc.
I really enjoyed this story. I liked how the author didn’t rush the relationship between Tathan and Amalie. It was attraction drawn out. This is a story about realizing what one assumes is not always true and learning to open ones heart again. If you’re looking for a short, sweet read this is the one for you.
Tathan is a keeper for sure. The heroine ? Not so much. Personally, she was too fickle and childish at time for me, but I get it. She's young and had been hurt before. She makes assumptions before knowing Tathan, which turn out to be just as real as her "bucket". For me Tathan made this book and the secondary characters.
Hadn't read the short story this came from, but this might just be my favorite of all the ones I've read from this author. It just made me happy the whole way through and I just really enjoyed all the characters. Great read, 5 stars!
I waited to read until it was released as a novel since I don't particularly care for novellas. Love all of her books. Again, with this love story the characters are hilarious but make you want to see their perfect ending. Love it
Prepare to laugh, possibly snort and have some tummy aches after reading this book. If you are looking for a good rom-com I definitely suggest this as next read. I loved the characters. Shey Stahl did an excellent job when she created this little gem.
Tathan and Amalie are made for each other. I read this book and found myself so engross I hadn’t realized I was almost done with it after the first day. These two just blow me away and kept me wanting more.
I love tathan and Amalie’s story. It made me both laugh and cry and that’s the sign of a truly great book. I love all of her and all his exploits. Would love to hear more from these two
It’s alright, but nothing happens, not to mention that the FMC was super annoying and threw and said weird stuff all the time without it being cute in the slightest. The “shocking” and “heartbreaking” moment was lame and not believable at all.
I loved Tathan, but Amalie....a big no! She came across as mean. I can't even understand why he would actually like her. I get hesitancy regarding relationships after what happened to her, but so many of the encounters she had....even the ones with her friends...she simply came across as bitchy.
I love how she hates him in the beginning but he doesnt give up. He continues to try to be with her. I love there love story. This was such a good book.
I loved this book. It is funny, sweet, sexy and just plane good. The characters are just wonderful together. I love this book and recommend it to anyone.
I gave 2 stars only because there were some laugh out loud moments. The entire time I was reading this story it felt like I was being held hostage by a gas bagger that rarely took a breath.
