Natalie Berensen has one short summer to ace her writing class and convince her parents she’s not a hopeless screw-up. No more changing her major once a month, taking time off to travel, or random friends-with-benefits. She doesn’t have time for distractions or hook-ups, not even if her longtime crush is in town for the summer and living in her basement. Who cares if he’s a snowboarding god with six pack abs and a hashtag devoted to his apparently magical penis? She’s not interested.

Until she is.

Ben Easton’s focus and self-discipline is legendary. He’s built a career as a professional snowboarder by training harder than anyone else on the mountain and steering clear of anything that doesn’t take him one step closer to his goal: Olympic gold. Then his best friend crashes in the half-pipe and Ben drops everything to take care of him. No more training. No more competitions. No more snowboarding. It’s over.

He’s back in Boulder to help with Adam’s rehab, not fool around with his little sister’s best friend, no matter how much he loves her laugh or the way her ass looks when she walks up the stairs. There’s no way in hell he’s going anywhere near Natalie.

Until he does.

Contains: a grumpy guard cat with a taste for blood, discussions of Ents as phallic symbols, and plenty of sexy times.

Dropping In was an okay romance book. With delicious abs on the cover, I was very intrigued to jump into it. Plus, being free on KU didn't hurt either.

After meeting Natalie, I was kind of hesitant on how I truly felt about her. At times she could be very annoying and dramatic. Which really isn't my cup of tea and left me frustrated. Then after meeting Ben, I wasn't quite sure how I felt about them being a couple. Again, it didn't help that I wasn't a huge fan of Natalie.

Together, they were okay but a complete hot mess at times. It was hard to understand where they were coming problem-wise because they could be easily solved. For example, get a job and make your own money instead of relying on your parents. I also wasn't invested in their love life either. I could take it or leave it at this point and sleep like a baby at night.

In the end, it was okay, but I don't think I will jump into the sequel.

Second book in the series written by Carrie Quest.

This book was fabulous as heck.

We first meet Natalie, a roomate of Piper Easton, Ben Easton's sister, a struggling writer and, a daughter pressured constantly by her parents, and a person who believes that she can never finish anything, a commitment phobe in almost every aspect (her words, not mine).

Then an accidental meeting with Ben Easton, as Natalie doesn't realise who he is and throws the satanic pet of a devil, Chuckles (yes the ironic fact), on to poor Ben.

Gosh, do I feel bad for Ben. Hope Chuckles let most of him live longer.

After the first meeting between both, there are sparks, flames of desire that pull them together and are certainly very hard to resist.

It's because Ben's babes say so. And you do not disagree with true information.

Soon, they are together but it doesn't mean that it's all roses and sunshine.

Obstacles come, old exes come, friends may get involved, all this leads to a very turbulent relationship.

But in the end, it's definitely worth it.

And I will also say it's a book definitely to read.

But I do say read it in order especially dropping in comes first, then wiping out, then bailing out.

Bailing out can be read as a standalone.

But order is: Bailing out, then Dropping In, Wiping Out.

Enjoy!

I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I couldn't really get into this book, mostly because of the characters. I found the characters quite immature for their ages and they didn't have much depth. Natalie is such a drama queen at times, it was so frustrating. Like boo hoo your parents won't pay for everything. That's such a rich privileged problem that I had no sympathy for her. Ben's conflict was kind of annoying as well because it was all in his head. I can kind of understand his issue a bit more, because the consequences are life changing. Natalie's issue could have been dealt with, she just needed to work harder and get a job to pay for what she wanted to do instead of freaking out when mommy and daddy will no longer pay for everything in your life.

~4.5 STARS~

Dropping In is a sexy romance by Carrie Quest. Natalie has always been a girl who doesn’t take life too seriously until something happens that makes her change her mind. She has decided to be the daughter her parents expect her to, but yet something is missing, some important part of her. She has found that piece of her in writing. As you can imagine, her parents are not very happy, but she is bound and determined to prove them wrong, acing her summer writing class. She has no time for distractions, but her BFF’s brother’s, Ben, returning home will test her resolve. Ben, himself, has no time for distractions either. He is home to help his best friend, Adam, recuperate after a horrible accident on the half-pipe during a snowboarding practice run. The sexual tension crackles between these two, so we’ll see how long they can keep their hands off one another.

I will be honest, I wasn’t sure how much I was going to like Natalie in the beginning. She seemed immature, never sticking to anything, partying, and moving from one man to the next, but never developing a relationship. By the middle of the book and definitely at the end, I really liked her. She did an enormous amount of growing and maturing. I even began to understand why she behaved like she did. Her older sister seemed to do everything right, always earning praise from their parents. Natalie felt like she could never measure up, so she quit trying. After a frightening experience, she realizes she needs to take life more seriously. But, she does it in a way she thinks her parents would approve of, not for her. I felt sorry for her in that sense, so when she found a passion for writing, I was happy that she pursued it.

Ben was the complete opposite of Natalie, always laser-focused on his career as a professional snowboarder, but seeing his best friend involved in such a horrible has rocked his vey foundation. He is ready to leave everything he worked for behind. I loved his personality from the beginning. He had a way of lighting a room up.

The romance was both sexy and sweet. However, at times, it was pretty serious. These are two people who have never been in a relationship before, but for different reasons. Ben is always busy, and he has no time. Natalie just never wanted one, until Ben, so this is new territory for both of them. They will have to work hard to discover what works best for them, yet allows them to keep their dreams alive.

I loved the secondary characters. Quest was brilliant as she developed the characters of Adam and Piper. They have a past, and she did an awesome job of getting her readers ready for their book. I LOVED Chuckles, the cat, and Thor, the dog! I am an animal lover, so I always love when a writer makes them characters in their own right!

This is a solid, enjoyable, romantic, and sexy beginning to a series I look forward to continuing. I can’t wait to read Piper and Adam’s story next. I think they have quite a lot to tell us!

I have to say, Carrie Quest is fast becoming one of my favourite authors ever!

I adore this series. This book is so much fun, sexy and perfect to cuddle up on the sofa and settle down for a good read!

Natalie is so loveable but kind of an adorable mess. Ben is sexy, funny and sizzling hot! Together, Natalie and Ben grow so much throughout this book. Their very first encounter in the book was laugh out loud funny that ended with a sexy encounter that sets in motion the rest of their story. If there is one thing I love when reading a romance is funny moments and witty banter. There’s so few authors that achieve this but Quest has a knack for handling this with such aplomb. Brilliant stuff! There were a few heartbreaking and poignant moments, but in general the book was lighthearted and sexy.

There were a few heartbreaking moments, but in general the book was lighthearted and sexy. I loved Piper and Adam as well, and I am looking forward to their book.

Loved this book. Well done, Carrie!!

I had no idea what to expect when I started Dropping In. This being my first Carrie Quest novel I was unsure but the synopsis sounded good so I thought I would take a chance and I am so happy that I did! I loved Ben and Natalie's story from the first page until the end and I cant wait to dive into Adam and Piper's story.

Ms Quest is a fantastic storyteller who brings humor, heartbreak, and romance to Ben and Natalie's story. Both Ben and Natalie are running from who they are and when they spend the summer together they realize that they cant run away from their feelings for each other. They also realize that if they want to make a go of any type of relationship (that includes with friends, family and each other) they have to face their past and try to move forward. The dialog between the characters is fantastic as well as the exposition within the story. I did get a little lost a few times as I was reading it but those were small misses in what was otherwise a near perfect story.

I highly recommend taking a chance on Dropping In - its worth the time.

Natalie never seems to settle. Her parents want her to be their choice for her future. She wants to choose on her own. Whether it be who she settles with, or her career, she wants control of that decision.

Ben comes after a self imposed sabbatical. He is helping a friend heal. He is also trying to come to terms about what he will choose for his own future. Right now it is uncertain.

These characters seem to have a lot in common. The sparks fly off them right from the start. While the pace moves along rather quick, the romance snuck right in with some heat that punched. I was very pleased with the banter, and it was an easy yet comfortable read. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. I give this one a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

4.5 Stars for Dropping In
This is the first book in the new Snow -Crossed Lovers Series and what a great start it is, I was so looking forward to this book after reading Bailing Out and I was not disappointed.
Natalie has never taken life seriously, she has never found anything to make her settle but her parents are now giving her ultimatums , she must finish her writing degree or she will take a degree in business studies. Ben is her best friends brother and he is home to help his best friend Adam recuperate after a terrible snow boarding accident the last thing either of them need is a relationship but sometimes our hearts rule rather than our minds.......
This book has a lot going for it, great characters, sizzling chemistry, romance and some laugh out loud moments and it’s left me looking forward to book 2 in this series. Great job Carrie Quest

I was hooked on this book right from the beginning. The scene with Ben returning home was the clincher for me. I laughed so much and that was the feel for the rest of the book. I loved Ben and Natalie together. They had great chemistry and they got one another. One of my favorite things was the Lord of the Rings reference and their private joke with it. Though this book has a light playful vibe there are some serious emotional moments as well. They tug at your heart. The animals also won me over to this book. I'm a sucker for pets in books and Carrie did an awesome job of showing off their uniqueness. I can't wait for the second book in the series because the set up from this book has me eagerly awaiting it. Carrie Quest has gained a new reader with her debut novel.

This book was fun, sexy and perfect to cuddle up on the couch and settle in. Natalie is kind of a mess, but she is a lovable mess. Ben is sexy, funny and hot as fire! Together, Natalie and Ben grow so much throughout the book. Their very first encounter in the book was laugh out loud funny and ended with a sexy encounter that set in motion the rest of their story. There were a few heartbreaking moments, but in general the book was lighthearted and sexy. I loved Piper and Adam, as well, and I am looking forward to their book. The single best "character" in the book was Chuckles. You'll have to read to find out who Chuckles is and to enjoy the magic that is Chuckles!

I really enjoyed this book. I’m not sure why it doesn’t have more reviews.

The prologue was a bit weird, but I really enjoyed Ben and Nat’s story. It was very well written. The cat made me laugh so much. I wish we’d gotten to see Ben on the slopes.

Lots of steamy scenes, great secondary characters and laugh inducing animals.

Again, I don’t understand why this book doesn’t have more reviews, I see books that have thousands of 4-5 star reviews that aren’t nearly as good as this book.

I can’t wait to read Piper & Adam’s story, which I’m going to read right after I’m done writing this review.

After reading Bailing Out, I couldn’t wait to read Dropping In.

Carrie Quest delivers another laugh out loud, sports romance. After reading this book and hearing a bit about the next one, I think Chuckles needs his own book! (You’ll see what I mean when you read it)

I love the characters, Ben and Natalie. Natalie totally cracks me up and the way her character developed throughout this book was fantastic!

Ben’s internal struggle throughout this book captured my heart. You really feel for him.

I can’t wait to read Adam and Pipers story!

Dropping In by Carrie Quest is a fun story. It's a realistic story that is charming and witty. Natalie is a relatable character, her life is a bit of a mess, but she is likeable, sweet and strong. Ben sounds like a great guy. He's struggling in the story but you see how he and Natalie grow individually and together throughout the book. For the most part the book is light, fun and sexy but there are some real heartfelt moments that complete this story. I look forward to reading the next installment.

This was my first book I read by Carrie Quest and I am so happy that I did. Natalie and Ben had such great chemistry. I loved their inside jokes and their witt with each other. That was a great addition to the book. This book is one to curl up with and just become immersed in. I did.

I completely in love with this group. This book is about loyalty, discipline and of course love, lots of it! Ben is a very strong man, inside and out, but is scared about his future and what he can handle and do with it, Nat is used to her parents criticism and their way to control her life, finally their find each other!

Dropping in (Snow-Crossed Lo ers Book 1)

What do a writer and a snowboarder have in common apparently the only thing that matters love, and that what Natalie and Ben is about to find out. I loved reading this book.

3.5 star. I liked Nat & Ben. Relationship was sexy and they had good connection too. No stupid drama over dating siblings friends. When the drama happened it was realistic and believable. Good characters, good story, realistic situations, a bit of humor and nice heat.

Oh thank goodness, finally a good romance book after a month of mostly one-star reads. This was both cute and hot, and the characters felt alive on the page. Even though I've never been either a snowboarder or a writer, I could relate to both Natalie and Ben, and the supporting cast was well set up for stories of their own in the future.

4.5 snowboarding stars!

I absolutely loved this book!! It enraptured from the very first page and I had to force myself to stop from time to time so I could get some work done otherwise I would have stayed up day and night until I reached the very last page.
One of the things I loved the most was the heroine! (I know, right?!) Usually I’m not a big fan of heroines ‘cause they tend to be somewhat annoying, but not this time. And if you pair that with a kick ass plot, a swoon-worthy hero and fun and engaging dialogues, you get one the best books I’ve read so far!!
If I had one complaint though, it would be that I thought the ending was too abrupt. In my opinion, it lacked an epilogue to wrap things up nicely. Although, this is just a minor issue that in no way affected my reading experience, it still made lose half a star from my rating.
Anyhow, I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good new adult sports romance and specially snowboarders with abs of steel 😉😜

Contemporary Romance, with winter sports as a theme. Best-friend younger sister's romance.
Book #1 of a series, but there has been a prequel.

Fun, cute and sexy!!!

Addictiveness: This is a fast-paced sexy romance that have you laghing-out-loud a lot!!!
Character: hero 4/5, heroine 4/5, secondary characters 4.5/5, growth 4/5, real 5/5  Great characters! Natalie is a bit lost, but she is fun and ready to find herself. Ben is hot and sexy! So many great secondary characters (Piper, Adam, Chuckles). Character development is great along the story. Both Ben and Natalie mature a lot.
Cover: art 5/5, title 5/5, subtitle 0/5, color-font 5/5, buy 5/5 Hot cover! Great title! I would buy this without reading the blurb.
Plot: believable 4/5, conflict 4/5, dialogue 5/5, ending 5/5, enjoyment 5/5, opening 54/5, pace 5/5, setting 5/5, subplots 5/5, twists 3/5  Great opening and wonderful ending. Perfect conflict and dialogues. Steady pace with enough subplots to enhance the story. There is a bit of serious topics but the mood is set as light and fun. I laugh a lot with both characters.
Romance: believable 5/5, chemistry 5/5, description 4/5, development 5/5, steam 3/5 This is a love story. At the same time is fun and light. The couple's chemistry is great and their love is easy to feel.
Writing Style: Amazing characters development with interesting plot. Cohesive writing with great setting.

Freshness:  There is nothing very different and unique here. But when a romance is well written it doesn't need to be unusual. It doesn't bother that is a bit predictable.

Overall

Action 0/5
Angst 3/5
Darkness 0/5
Humor 5/5
Romance 5/5
Suspense/Mystery 0/5
Would I recommend? I would recommend this book for everyone that enjoy romance. In fact, this is a fast, fun read!
Would I re-read this book? Definitely!!!
Would I re-read this series? Yes!!!
Would I read more from the author? I will definitely keep reading the author.

You MAY read this because you enjoy romance; you should read this because you like sports romance ; you MUST read this because you are looking for some sexy, fun love story!!!
