In a world where the gods live together in one society, a revolution is coming-led by the goddess Artemis and the five gods who are her allies and protectors.

Artemis is pulled from her simple life in the forest, where her father Zeus hid her to shield her from a dangerous society and taken to the Academy of the Gods.

The strongest god in the Academy, Apollo is dead taking with him any hope for a new future. Artemis must take her brother's place in the Trials of the Gods, a series of challenges designed to either prove her strength or determine her failure. The winner of the Trials will lead the Academy towards a new future.

Can Artemis win the Trials and fulfill her brother's plans to bring equality to all gods and goddesses?

Dealing with her new life and role is challenging enough without the distraction of the gods she must ally with: Thor, Loki, Dionysus, and Triton. Romance is the last thing on her mind, but the closer the five work as a team, the harder it is to resist.

Not everybody supported Apollo's desire to begin a revolution. His plan to create equality for the goddesses in a world where they're inferior could be the reason for his death. Can Artemis also bring Apollo's killers to justice? Or will those behind his murder succeed in stopping the revolution Apollo planned?

Huntress is a reverse harem fantasy romance which joins Greek, Roman and Norse mythology into a sexy and thrilling story, from USA Today bestselling authors Angel Lawson and LJ Swallow.

So Artemis is pulled out of her world of women into a world of men to take her bother Apollo’s place in a trial at the Academy to determine who will take Zeus’s place as the head of the council for the Academy. The world she’s thrown into is one where women are second class and have no rights or voice in society. She’s fighting for equal rights and decides along with winning the trial she needs a Harem as women aren’t currently allowed this only the guys.

This had all the elements of a story right up my street, mythology both Norse Greek and Roman yes please. A potential Harem of Gods, and a strong Heroine who is up against the status-quo. All good so far.. so where did it go wrong?

Perhaps my expectations where to high? When you write a book about Gods I expect them to be all powerful, immortal etc etc I don’t expect them to be like teenagers in high school, smack talking behind people’s backs. The first things clear they are not immortal and seem to get hurt here at every turn – not very God like, they don’t have many “powers” and seem more human than God (it seems they don’t even know Apollo is the God of the Sun and wonder at one point why the sun shines brighter when he’s in it? Eh?)

I expected Artemis the Goddess of the Hunt to be more kickass, yes she was strong and self assured and was true to herself but did she really kick ass? I don’t believe so, yes she put some people in their places but when it came down to the fights it was the guys who did the work (the very thing she was trying to disprove) She caused much more friction in her group than problem solving. I did like her no nonsense straight talking approach though.

All in all, if I were Zeus I would cancel these trials because clearly none of the “Gods” are mature enough to take his pace yet.

The virgin Goddess is going to have some fun~

From the last 'godly' rh i've read, this one was by far my favorite.
There was action, political schemes, a real plot and boarding stuff which i'm a sucker for. Artemis was not an idiot and seriously badass; she was strong, intelligent and very confident.
The guys, on the other hand, are mostly jerks. Thor is a sexist douchebag, Loki is... well, Loki, Triton is a brooding nerd and Dion is a manwhore. But I can't wait to see them evolve and be fully part of Artemis' harem.

warning: remember, the characters are gods; the guys do quite a lot fool around with other women. But don't let it stop you because it's making the story even more interesting as Artemis wants to be the very first goddess to do the exact same. Plus, the guys and her are not lovers yet.

I have...thoughts about this book. It was certainly something.

I really felt like it could have been better executed. I was super excited for it, but it was a real letdown.

1. I hated most of the characters. While I was like, "Yes, no more sexism! Go Artemis!" I didn't like her as a person. She was overly competitive and kind of whatever. Also, if she was a goddess, where were her powers? The other characters weren't really developed and I didn't care for them or their attitudes. Some stuff, like the attitudes of Zeus, don't fit with general mythology, just saying.
2. The plot could have been so much better. It's an academy - where were the class details? That aside, the trial stuff was lame.

Basically, this could have been way better, but it sucked for me. Pretty cover though.

This book did not appeal to me at all. I did like the main character which is the only reason I finished this book but the character and relationship development was awful. I kept waiting for them to actually form emotional attachments instead on relying on instant lust but nope. I felt like the whole story was repetitive and was on a continuous loop. The so called "men" were actaully giant man babies and could not work together at all even though they were all supposedly "close". Their arguments were petty and the main heroine did nothing to help them resolve anything. I will not be reading further into this series.

Well written and an interesting story overall.
Not quite as fast moving as I thought it would be and some parts were quite slow. I don't really know how I feel about the guys, but I like Artemis. You go, girl!!

Well this was certainly a fresh and exciting read. I absolutely love anything Myth in fiction, I have a huge soft spot for it.

Yet, Huntress is nothing like I have ever read before in a Myth themed story. For starters we are not only taking some well known mythological characters from all sorts of worlds, realms and themes. We are throwing them all in one mix, and wait for it.........adding in a Reverse Harem genre to the mix. I mean, that's a lot to mix up, and a lot to take in. But, it actually works. I know it sounds like it could be a complete crazy concoction, but it really isn't.

So we have Artemis, sister to Apollo, living out in a hidden forest where only woman inhabit, to keep her sheltered and hidden from anyone wanting to harm the daughter of Zeus. But upon her brothers death, Artemis is told she must take her brothers place at the academy of Gods, to take part in the trial that will determine the next leader, after Zeus.

Artemis is one kick ass heroine, and not afraid to take on any challenge, even if it's a bunch of other equally famous gods from various times and mythological realms that are all wanting the place as winner in the trials. Nothing that Artemis can't handle. And she certainly shows her strengths in and out of the trials.

Incredibly clever, a fresh new twist on some loved characters. Love following this new interpretation, and can't wait to see what comes next for this world, and of course the fate of the characters.

Artemis, Daughter of Zeus and Leto, twin sister of Apollo was sent away as a small child, hidden away from the world of gods. She has lived her life in the forest with a group of women. She is an expert hunter and a fierce warrior. Now she has been forced to leave her forest camp and taken to the Academy of the Gods where she will face a new type of threat. Society. Apollo has been killed and Artemis must take his place in the Trials of the Gods, a series of challenges to determine the next Academy leader. It's a volatile time since some want changes; recognition and equality for women while others want the Academy to remain unchanged. Artemis must join Apollo's former team, his friends, Thor, Loki, Dionysus, and Triton in the challenge. They will try to ensure that one of them fulfill Apollo's goal for revolution. Artemis is determined to be the next leader but she also wants to bring those responsible for her brother's death to justice. She must learn to work with and trust the team. It's complicated though. She may be part of the team but her relationship with Apollo's team is quite different than the one he shared with them. They were his best friends, she wants to make them her harem.

Huntress is a collaboration between two of my favorite RH authors, Angel Lawson and Lisa Swallow. It's fantastic. Anyone familiar with my reviews knows that my favorite genre is RH. It's also clear that I love myths and gods of every culture. This story could have been written especially for me. Artemis is a kick-ass heroine! She's as fierce as the men and twice as determined. Her awkwardness in society is hysterical. I love her untamed manners, her sharpness, and spirit. I hope she never conforms to society completely. I want to see just a bit of polish and then see society bend to her ways. I love the challenge she presents to the stagnant society on so many levels. May she always remain true to herself! Her designated future harem is full of hotness. Thor is gorgeous, arrogant, not used to being challenged, conflicted about Artemis being Apollo's sister. It's an interesting dynamic. Loki, damaged, complicated, his own worst enemy. Dion, the heavy drinking manwhore. I assumed that I would hate him but his charm and his open heart drew me in. Triton, the scholar, secretive. I haven't made up my mind about him yet. And Apollo. I realize he's not a member of the harem. First, he's dead, second, he's her brother, ick but he's everpresent. His loss, his thoughts, his dreams have an impact throughout. The other gods and goddesses, friend and opponent add layers to the story. It's a typical university in many ways; drunken parties, pushy guys, flirty or catty girls; then god politics come into play and it becomes a life and death battle. I love this paradox.

This is a story set in multiple parts. There are the actual trials. Pure entertainment, exciting, possibly deadly. There is the mystery of Apollo's death and the impact of his loss on his friends and society. There is the potential societal revolution; a new way to live in the world of gods where women are equals. And there are the relationships between Artemis and the team. These aren't your average popular guys. They are gods. They are used to having harems themselves, they use women for their pleasure, they don't do relationships. But the little wild girl wants them as her own and her aim is always true. These all blend together in a well-written, complex, entertaining read. It's compelling, amusing, addictive. I loved this and look forward to more. #TeamArtemis!

Books that are based on characters in mythology are always a plus for me; the fact that this one is reverse harem (RH) is another. This is a difficult book for me to review because the book is a decent length, and I really enjoyed everything that happened in it, and the characters, but I still felt like it was missing something the entire way through. It could be that the story is a little too fast-paced for me - as I said, I liked everything that happened quite a bit, I just wish each thing could have taken a little bit longer, and been a little more detailed. It felt kind of like an abridged version. Even with this feeling, I had a strong liking for each of the heroes, and only partly from my preexisting knowledge and love for these characters in various other incarnations in popular culture. I want to write that Triton is my favorite (the anticipation for his capitulation to romance is fantastic) but even as I type I think about Loki's vulnerability, Dion's easygoing pleasure and Thor's annoying boastfulness and know I can't really choose, which is the whole fantastic point of RH - we don't have to! Artemis is a likeable, strong heroine as well, and there are plenty of humorous moments too. Despite wishing it was a little more fleshed out, I ended up enjoying the story and there was definitely enough to get me hooked into reading the next book.

Wonderful!

I started this book a week ago, read one page and out it down - my mistake. I had just finished book 4 in the All the Pretty Monsters series and my headspace wasn’t ready for Gods. Wait a week, try again and I DEVOURED this book! Its fresh, original and it takes some of the most well loved pantheons and twists them on their heads! You still have the echoes of myth imbuing the pages, but this story is truly all about Artemis and the Academy of the Gods.

Pros:
- Artemis: Bad@ss extraordinaire.
- Underlying politics
- Zeus is a good guy??!
- Each god or goddess still play the roles they are known for,but things are shifted just a little bit to the left...

Cons:
- like Artemis, you don’t quite know who to trust just yet.
- Book 2 isn’t ready yet...

Amazing good and engaging

This book sucked me in, and I couldn't put it down. I love the mix of deities from multiple places, all mingling and interacting, and I really like Artemis' spirit, spunk, confidence, and passion to change the way the world of the gods works. I can't wait for the second book!

I can't say I was sad to finally finish this story so I could move on to something else. While I like works by each of these authors, individually, I find this novel didn't catch my interest. The gods were more juvenile frat boys than hero material. Loki was the only character I enjoyed. Dion was the frat boy alcoholic, Thor was a pompous ass, and Triton had no personality. What they ever saw in Athena, I have no idea. She never became a believable heroine in my eyes. The story is interesting, but the protagonists never resonated with me.

Great first half of the book until she had the trial “and slide down the rock and hide behind her knees”. After that I didn’t buy her badass persona.
The romance feels forced too.
I tried to finish it but cannot push through around chapter 23 and just mark this as dnf.

A word of warning: I grew up on stories from both Greek and Norse mythologies so I may have got a little carried away in this review. I also could not decided between a 4 or a 5 star rating, so may change it shortly (I apologise for my indecisiveness).

I really enjoyed Huntress. Lawson and Swallow have taken ancient Norse and Greek myths and woven them into an action packed adventure about inequality and oppression. Turning myths about gods and goddess into a modern tale is not a new idea, and many of the characters are showing up more and more in different genres (getting a little tired of all the Thors), but Lawson and Swallow appear to have done their homework on the myths around the deities. Their personalities appear to match their myths closer than most modern retellings even try to.

Artemis is truly the goddess of the hunt. She is fierce, fiery and not afraid to challenge those who oppose her. She’s also a sore loser. The men, or gods, are so diverse, it’s refreshing. I am, as I mentioned before, a little over Thor(s). I wonder if everyone is suddenly fascinated with the god of thunder because of Chris Hemsworth, or was everyone a big fan of the Norse stories where Thor is a boastful drunk most of the time? At least in Huntress, Thor appears how he was originally portrayed, a boastful drunk, except he is so annoying - I want to clobber Thor over the head. That’s going to be one hell of a hookup when it finally happens. Dion is great as Dionysus, god of wine; he’s the ever pleasing party god, except thankfully in this version he’s also hot. Triton is also a little different than the original myth, for a start he isn’t a merman, but I love that Lawson and Swallow included his conch shell. And lastly there’s Loki. Just like the Norse myths about Loki, in Huntress he is a trickster and an outsider and it always makes me feel sad. Loki is like a big kid who is just looking for love and acceptance, except he screws it up every single time. (Insert sad face here).

Huntress is well written. Both authors blend the multiple POV’s well, the world building is good and the plot is intriguing. But - yes there’s a but, of course - it felt at times as though some sentences where slightly disjointed. I could not put my finger on the problem but every now and then there was a small hitch in the writing. I also felt like there was something missing. I’m not sure if a bit of warm fuzzy, or a little bit more between the group’s squabbles, or a bit more between action scenes, would of filled that hole. It was not something that was a big problem, more like a small niggle that lingers.

I do prefer the older mythologies where Athena stood in the top spot before man replaced her with Zeus, but I still love both Greek and Norse mythologies and I love this reverse harem fantasy. I love that Lawson and Swallow have stayed truer to the original myths and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the Trials of the Gods series.

Fans of LJ's will love this so much. I have never read Angel Lawson, but will be changing that after today. These two together are gold!!!!! We start off the story with Artemis, where she has just been summoned to the Academy of the Gods. Her twin brother Apollo has been killed and it is up to her to take his spot. There she encounters dangers all around. Why was her brother murdered? Who can she trust? Is her life now in danger as well? She knows that her brother was trying to win the Trials so that he could be leader of the Academy and make change happen. Change that some people will kill to make sure does not. She takes a chance and aligns herself with her brothers best friends Thor, Loki, Triton and Dion. Not expecting to feel something more than friendship with all four. It's not like she has enough on her plate with the Trials and the games that the gods play, not to mention four hot gods who are just as equally attracted to her as she is to them. But can she trust them?

Oh man Artemis is just such a fun, kick a@@ character, that yeah can use some help but by is no means weak. She is having to deal with the death of her brother, which she has always wanted a relationship with but never got to know. I really felt her sadness and heartache of now never getting to know him. But the unexpected gift she is given, helps eases the ache some. When she gets to the Academy she has to figure out who can she trust, what the trials are and how to beat them, as well as figure out who killed her brother. I really liked Apollo's friends, with Thor and Triton leading the pack. Each one has their own personalities that are different and I honestly liked each one. Although I will say Dion is going to have to grow on me some more, there is just something off about him. The guys don't know what to make of her, or that she can even succeed where her brother fell. But they will help her however they can. There is not so much action, as there is setting up the story and introducing the characters, she does go through her first trial, which I found was exactly what I thought it would be from the gods. It messed with her head and was tricky. She is such a strong and fun character, I am going to enjoy this series so much. Would I recommend Huntress? Hell yes!! This is going to be a good one guys!!

I felt it in the eclipse that day. A light was snuffed.”

Artemis knows the moment her brother Apollo died. Sent by her father, Zeus, to live with only women in relative freedom away from the politics of the gods, she is 20 when she feels her life has changed during a recent eclipse.

Summoned to take the place of her brother, in a series of trails to earn the title as Zeus’ replacement as leader of The Academy, an elite school for young gods to prepare for life in Government and Politics, Artemis will also join the alliance formed by Apollo in his bid to win the trials. That alliance will bring her in close contact with four other gods - Thor, Loki, Dionysus and Triton.

Each of them bring different strengths to the alliance, and she’s decided that she will meet each of them on an equal footing, something that her father and brother were trying to bring about as a matter of policy, had Apollo won the trials and been announced as the next leader. Now it is up to her and her four gods.

Trouble is, there is another faction who want to maintain the status quo: gods rule, and goddesses live to serve them.

This series is LJ Swallows second foray into the world of RH, and even being a relative newbie myself, I love her style. Angel Lawson is a new to me author, but I can feel her influence in the writing, and together I believe they make a strong team. If you love paranormal, Greek Mythology, the Reverse Harem genre or even just enjoy seeing a strong heroine kicking some male butt, then this is for you. Even if you’re unsure of the RH genre, as I am, but are curious, then this is your series. Written is this paranormal/mythological genre is a way that I can digest it comfortably, and I urge you to give these authors a try.
Congratulations on an amazing start to a fantastic new series LJ and Angel! 5 Stars.

A great start to a new series!

As a huge fan of Greek Mythology, this story adds a whole new twist to some of my favourite Gods/Goddesses. I must admit, starting off it was a little strange, as I had to put aside all my preconceived ideas regarding Artemis, and the other Gods in the story. However, as I was drawn in and the story took hold, I found myself drawn deeper into their world.

Artemis is a Goddess to behold. I cannot wait to see where her story takes her. She is one kick-ass female. Raised away from normal society and family, she has been brought up in a female only society, away from civilisation. As a result, she does not hold or adhere to the same rules as her piers. After the murder of her twin brother Apollo, Artemis is returned to The Academy (by her father Zeus), to take her brothers place in The Trials. Wild and untamed, she comes face to face with Apollos allies and enemies and their relationships develop. Unfazed by what she sees and hears, Artemis wants to take the current hierarchy and turn it on its head, setting her own rules, following in the footsteps of her brother. As a reader, you are standing on the sidelines cheering her on!! If it is good enough for the Gods, it is definitely good enough for this Goddess!

This is a great start to the series. It sets the tone and pace of the story to come, and most definitely leaves the reader wanting more. Who really are Artemis's allies? Who murdered Apollo? How will the Trials play out? Now I just have to wait for Book 2!

A really exciting new series from two authors that I love. I've enjoyed all their books they've written separately so was really excited to see what they'd produce together when I heard they'd decided to co-write a book. I wasn't disappointed. This is a mix of several of the world's myths on gods. It contains them all and I really love the work the authors have done in going into all the various mythologies.

I really loved the main character, Artemis. I really, really loved Artemis she's awesome. I always love a female main character that stands on her own two feet and is strong, but what I love about Artemis is that she's stronger in every way than the men around her. She's kickass and she's funny and she really doesn't care what other people think of her. She's also ready to stand up for what she believes is right in a world she really doesn't know much about.

The four men, who I suspect will be in Artemis's harem are a mixed bunch. I have to say that so far there are only two that I really like, I'm not sure on the other two and I was surprised on that as I thought I would like the two I don't particularly like and that the authors would have their work cut out to sway me for the other two. I love when authors surprise me with the unexpected and they've definitely done that with these four men.

I really enjoyed Huntress, I thought it was a great series and am looking forward to the second book in what looks like it's going to be a great series.

The reason I first chose to read this book was mainly the plot. I hadn’t read much from either of these authors before, but I love a good twist on mythology. Bringing together so many different backgrounds was an intriguing idea, and I wanted to see if someone could do it right. I forgot to review it the first time around, and I’ve since reread it, because I thought it was that good the first time.

I thought this book was brilliant. For me, Artemis makes this book. She is a brilliant protagonist - strong, smart, unapologetic. She’s not afraid to push back and MAKE her own place, rather than simply accepting an outdated status quo. I’m also a big fan of the relationships she builds with the gods. They have to get past their own flaws, and it’s more believable (as believable about a reverse harem of gods can be, of course). I think the story has good pace, and moves along. There’s not too many criticisms I can think of. Really, it’s my curiosity, which can’t be held against the authors. I would love to see what the story is with some of the side characters, as they currently feel a little glossed over. At this point, it’s hard to know if it’s foreshadowing or an actual issue. I’m also a little disappointed at how long the sequel is taking to come out, but this is a co-written series, and I can understand that you’ve got to get more than one schedule to line up. Really looking forward to what the next book brings.

This is a really good start to a new series by Lisa Swallow and Angel Lawson. In this book we are introduced to Artemis and she is a really fun and exciting MC! She is strong, capable and self-assured...and a goddess! Then you mix her in with a bunch of God’s for allies and friends and you have an explosive mix! Dion is an easy to like character but I am still not sure about Loki, Thor and Triton! These three I think I will need to get to know more before I start to enjoy their arrogance!! This is an interesting and intriguing world that has been created by Lisa Swallow and like all her books is well written. This book is about setting the scene for more to come and I liked the character development. Only short fall I will say is that it ended quite suddenly and I would have liked a bit more at the end! However having said that this book is full of action and adventure and really captures the readers attention all the way through. I can’t wait to read what happens next!! Highly recommended.

Do you like Greek Mythology? What about Norse Mythology?

Artemis grew up secluded away in the forest with only other females as companions.
Dreaming of her brother every night.
When a messenger is sent by her father to summon her, she knows it can't be for anything good.
Learning of her brother's murder, she sets out to prove that women are meant for more.
And she will get her revenge on whoever harmed her family.

I love the idea of mixing Greek and Norse mythology.

This has an amazing storyline.
I loved it so much, I'm not exactly sure what to say about it.
Everything about it was perfect.

It does end on a slight cliffhanger.
I guess that is it's one downfall. LOL.

The characters are described well.
Everything between them seemed to happen organically and didn't seem rushed.

I'm just curious about what will happen next.
I can't wait to see the what the next book brings.

I would consider this a medium-burn romance.

Highly recommend.
This book is very well-written and will suck you in.
You won't be disappointed in it at all.

This book is on its way to quickly becoming one of my favorites. Seriously, it’s so good! The writing, the characters, the storyline....everything about it is A+ quality. I am really loving this take on mythological gods and goddess, it’s an entirely unique approach.

As the blurb says, goddesses are considered inferior and treated as such. Whoever wins the Trials will determine the future of the gender laws. Talk about a wee bit relatable, don’t you think?

Enter Artemis, a fierce heroine who I am just in love with. She is everything a woman could want to be: strong, intelligent, loyal, a keen fighter and a lover all wrapped up in one. Everything about her just screams “gender laws be damned” and I can not get enough!

And let’s not forget her harem...Thor, Loki, Dion, and Triton. I’ll be honest, Loki is my favorite so far. But all of them are just incredible multifaceted characters.

I’m gonna need more of this world to delve in to...like now!!

So the start of this series really shows potential.

In this book we meet Artemis. Artemis has lived in the woods with a female only tribe. For reasons unknown to her, Zeus (her father) sends her away from her twin Apollo shortly after her birth. Her life changes when a Hati shows up to inform her that her brother has died, and she is now expected to head to the Academy to take her place. Artemis is expected to compete in the trials with the hopes of taking over Zeus' role.

In a world where women are second class citizens, she struggles to find her place and win the trials. She struggles to figure out who is a friend and who is foe.

I genuinely enjoyed Dion and Loki as characters. Thor I found a tad annoying, but I figure he will probably be character I grow to love.

This is definitely worth the read!

A fascinating read!

In a world where the gods live together in one society...
A revolution is coming...

This was an absolute fascinating and interesting take on mythology - combining the three mythologies and making the world of the gods unfair and unequal. Loved this angle. Cannot wait to discover what the MC and her protectors will do in order to bring equality to all gods and goddesses.

This book was such a perfect read suited for the mythology (and reverse harem) lover in me! The perfect blend of Greek, Roman and Norse mythology with romance and political factors.

Full of gods, goddesses, patriarchal society, revolution, trials, enemies, loss, action, adventure and romance.

Perfect for readers of fantasy reverse harem romances/Greek mythology/Roman mythology/Norse mythology.

Wow! Ms. Swallow has done it again! She has created a fantastic new world filled with Greek, Roman, and Norse gods.
Artemis and Apollo are twins, with Zeus being their father. When Artemis was young, Zeus took her to the forest to grow up with a group of women, while Apollo stayed with his parents. When Apollo dies during a Trial, a competition between the students at the Academy, Zeus sends for Artemis. She has to learn a whole new way to live and she definitely stands out.
Artemis is tasked with filling Apollo’s place in the Trials. These trials test her mind and her physical strength. As she goes through them, she begins to have feelings for four of her teammates that she has formed an alliance with.
Come meet the gods Dionysus, Thor, Loki, Triton, Adonis, Skoll, Eros, and Hati.
“Huntress” is the start of a great new RH series.

See I'm kind of debating because so far I don't see any of the love interests as worthy of Artemis, especially not Thor who comes across as a sexist, condescending ass. Sure he may claim to want the revolution but his casual comments, his attitude and behavior state the exact opposite. In all honesty despite the interesting plot line the only character I really like is Artemis and that doesn't bode well for my opinion of the series. I liked Loki for a while but then he betrays them just to irritate Thor, never considering how it would affect Artemis and I stopped rooting for his character there. Dion is nicer but he's a complete womanizer and not the good time with all his disrespectful comments and conquests. And then there's judgemental, sexist Triton who fall flat on the large and doesn't come across as sexy to me in the least. Honestly she's better off single.

I love books about the gods and I love reverse harem so this book has made me extremely happy! The gods are shown in a way I have never seen before. Artemis is a goddess, she lives in a female only encampment and away from her family and twin, but when her brother is murdered she must step up to the plate in the trial of the gods. As well as trying to navigate her way through this new world, she needs to navigate her way through relationships with thr other four gods who were her brothers friends, her allies and her protectors

Well written this story kept my interest all the way through, I was glued to the page following Artemis’s struggle to find her way and I am so looking forward to reading the book in the series, I loved this story squeeeee

Badass

Supernatural. Rh. 4 Gods. Badass heroine. Artemis has been summoned to the Trials to take her brothers place. Apollo was murdered during his first trial. Zeus wants her to find the killer and win the Trials. Having grown up with only woman in a closes society, Artemis doesnt know women\goddesses are now second class. Her being at the Academy and in the Trials threaten the rules of the reigning Gods. She must prove herself to her new team composed of 4 Gods. Thor, Dionysus, Triton, and Loki. I love how strong and confident Artemis. Also how the guys are written, just how the actual gods would have acted. With the last bit you can tell this is going to be a rough journey for them. Full of suspicion, loss, and battles. Will follow series closely.

Oh my gods and goddesses!

A super cool twist on Norse, Greek, and Roman mythology, Artemis, sister to slain bother Apollo is thrust into the deceptive and political world of the gods. Artemis was summoned by her father Zeus to take Apollo’s place in the trials, a competition to win a seat on the prestigious board which is able to bring desperately needed change to the land. Women are oppressed and a small faction of gods want to change that. Artemis surrounds herself with the god squad her brother trusted. She needs to further his vision, and find his killer. But she needs to figure out for herself if tricksy Loki, arrogant Thor, quiet Triton and enigmatic Dion will help her through the trials with her body...and heart, in one piece.

Ah, Artemis is another heroine who lives up to her words and knows how to deliver. She is intelligent, confident, strong and even more when in action. I about cry and bleed dry trying to cheer for her. I just love her so much!

I am curious and interested at the dynamics of Thor, Dion, Loki and Triton. They are all different to one another yet the diversity worked well for them. Buuut, I am really more invested on their background stories. I want to know more!!!

The whole academy thing was freaking amazing and I love the authors' version of Greek, Roman and Norse mythology.

The story seemed medium burn but the progression of events felt satisfying enough for me. As in I dig what they're dangling in front of me.
