Do you recall Silas' threat of a threesome back in A Seditious Affair? If you found the idea even vaguely intriguing, then you should most definitely check out this final little extra. Even though I'm not a big fan of this couple, there's no denying that their chemistry is through the roof!

whoa!

The second part of the story, is made up of a series of letters sent by Richard and David, "honeymoon-ing" in France, as well as their friends and family back home, forced to deal with a surprising number of (minor?) emergencies, recounted in a most hilarious manner.

Score: 3.3/5 stars

Now this is what all extras should be made of!
Even though I didn't feel the need for any additional closure after finishing A Gentleman's Position, getting not one but two sets of epilogues (FOR FREE!), was an unexpectedly nice bonus.

~3.5~

I couldn't place all the references in the letters, which make up half the story.

The highlight was a threesome Silas sets up for Dom. HOT! I don't typically like it when a couple introduces a third, but it worked for Silas and Dom.

Richard's portrait made me smile. His red-headed fox indeed.

I wanted more Richard and David, my favorite couple of the series, but they're not on page at all. Neither are Harry and Julius.

3.7 Stars - A wonderful extra tidbit candy for a passionate KJC fans like me

Book #3.5 in the lovely Society of Gentlemen series. — A Cristmas coda (catching up on the main characters a year and a half later) free from the author. — Historical M/M love and I really enjoyed all three full-length novels (Recommended reads).

This was a perfect quick joy the day before Christmas Eve. Love these interesting men and their life together back in the 1820:s.

I LIKE - 'course I do

If you have read books 1 to 3 you can't miss this free morsel of goodness.
So well written, so much in the style of the days gone by and so much fun! And Silas and Dom in a threesome. *wiping her brow*
I don't often give 5 stars to novellas, but I have to make the exception here!
Absolutely worthwhile and so enjoyable!

This was the epilogue of my dreams. It had everything I could wish for. My heart is full and happy, but also sad because now the series is truly over.

3.75 stars rounded up

I love you, Silas thought. More than my heart can take. My knight, my tarnished knight on his knees.

I was happy to know that Richard finally took his Foxy to travel (and actually enjoying it); David deserved it!!. It was also nice to know that Harry was still color-challenged when it came to coats and frustrated the hell out of Julian. I absolutely didn't remember who Sir Absalom Lockwood was (sorry, my short-memory term sucks!) though.

But DAYUM!! That threesome scene between Dominic, Silas, and
.
.
(sorry, will be back, wet my panty).
.
.

All the stars are given for this one. And I am not even a self-proclaimed fan of threesome!!

OMG - this is a must for fans of the Society of Gentlemen series, ESPECIALLY if you loved Dom & Silas. I was chuckling away, loving the letters and catching up with these wonderful characters, when I almost choked on my cup of tea 😂. Couldn’t have ended more perfectly than with that reference to a certain portrait 🦊❤️.

A 7.5K story tying up some Society of Gentlemen loose ends (mainly what happened to Absalom, and whether Dominic and Silas ever did have that threesome...). Beautiful cover is by Mila May. Get it through my newsletter at kjcharleswriter.com/newsletter

Lovely epilogue in letter - format, plus Silas and Dominic are (as hinted at near the end of their book) joined by Jon one evening.

I adore all these characters so tremendously!!

I love Harry and Julius' little squable with the Violet waistcoat. LOVED.

I enclose a scrap of material. Suffice to say that I shall be wearing a coat in this colour, in public, and it is all Harry’s fault. I blame you for everything.

I adore above all else, Silas' love for Dom.

I love you, Silas thought. More than my heart can take. My knight, my tarnished knight on his knees.

And I literally salivate over Dom and Silas' sex scenes, but adding in a third.... Ho-ly shit!

“Man at each end,” he growled. “This what you want, Sir Dominic?”
“Spit-roasted like a sucking pig,” Jon gasped.

Lastly if Ms Charles doesn't follow through with this little promise I may die in a puddle.

“Could get friendlier,” Silas said. “Will likes to watch.”
There were a few seconds of silence, then Dominic said, “You are, in fact, trying to kill me.”

Merry Fucking Christmas everyone!!!

A neat little addition to the series and as such, it is okay. It won't mean anything to those who don't know the characters, their quirks, and what they've been through. It is partly told through letters with the exception of one long scene featuring Silas and Dominic ().

Definitely read this after the third book to understand it better. I liked the description of Richard Vane's painting.

This was unexpected! I loved the letters, them all complaining to Richard about each other, I loved Richard's portrait *heart eyes* and the way Silas always makes sure he gives Dom what he needs, whoa! *fans self*

I will never get enough of this society of gentlemen! <3

A quick and fun addition to the Society of Gentlemen series.

Half of this short freebie consists of letters written by the Ricardians and secondary characters to each other. It was great to catch up with the various couples. Plus, the trademark humour and antics kept me grinning from the first page.

But the highlight (at least to my admittedly one-track mind) is the threesome that Silas plans for Dom, as a celebration for Dom's knighthood. If I remember right, this is something that Dom and Silas had spoken about before, and I'm very pleased that the author followed through with it.

"And I'll use you how I want, when I say, how I say. You hear that, Sir Dominic?"

***

"Use me," Dominic said. "Please. Do what you want, Fuck me. Anything."

The threesome was, predictably, hawt. Silas has a mouth that could make a sailor blush, and Dom submits so beautifully. No complaints from me.

Overall, I really liked this update on the Ricardians. More please?

With this, the awesome BR with Ele, Moony, Shile and Teal come to an end. I'm looking forward to the next one. Reading with you all is so much fun.

I liked this short story, but not all of it. The epistolary part is good and we learn some things about what happened after "the letter affair", but the other part didn't work for me. I think is out of character.

Well. Not only was that pretty steamy, it was perfectly in character. S's letter to D was probably my favourite line (although there are many wonderful lines!) and I may just have teared up a little at the Portrait with Fox.

What a wonderful Christmas gift.

Too short to rate. This was a lovely conclusion. Julius and Harry were hilarious as usual. Richard and David were adorable (I wanted more from them). I skimmed the Dom/Silas bits (still not my thing) so all was well!

Thank you Santa [KJ, in this case], thank you ever so much for this.

On any account 2016 has been a crappy, crappy year. The Dom/Silas threesome has gone some way to saving it. Hot as all get out and romantic too.

I liked the rest of this too. The letter-style (there's a technical term for this but I cannot for the life of me remember it) works very well, like we're peeking back into everyone's lives and they've just been living them this whole time. It's also nice way to get a slice of everyone's voice and personality. I felt like I got a lot more out of this than just 7000 words.

That said, it's too short to get five stars from me. Solid 4.5 though. I'm sad that this is likely to be the last time we get to see inside this world and very impatient for more KJC in 2017.

I think my favourite part of this novella/epilogue for the series (ps insert cry emoji face here) might have been the letters. But then there was that particular scene between Silas & Dom and.. spoiler. And then there was the final wrap-up with the painting..

Jeez. I already miss this series and I still have the first book (which is making me lolz) to go!

This was so much fun! It was nice to catch up with the guys,to see what they've been up to after everything that has happened. Told in letters (except for one longer scene written in the thurd person), these are great snippets to remind you of why you loved this series.
My favorite bits: Harry's new waistcoat (alas, not in puce this time) and Julius's reaction and Richard's portrait. I also thought the letters were brilliantly done, and I loved how you could tell who were them without being told! I really miss Harry's exuberance and Julius's biting sarcasm, I think a re-read is in order 😁

in which KJC finds ways to elevate the epistolary form (which is already iconic af) and make me blush furiously (that interlude KHM)

a few of my favourite things:
-Dom being knighted for being good at collecting taxes??! we love to see His Majesty being a weird one
-Wilberforce quoting one of Silas's pamphlets on abolition in the House of Lords 😭😭 The best man in the world is still agitating for change and actually being *listened to* 😭😭😭 I mean it sucks balls that it only came to pass bcs of his connection to Richard/respectability, but that's the whole crux of the issue isn't it?
- Harry (backed by Julius) and Francis violently arguing over Harry's violet coat....I love useless fops so much. From Silas, after solving An Actual Problem: "Things are well enough otherwise. The gentry are all arguing about some coat that Harry's fop friend is wearing. I dare say it keeps them busy." LOVE
- "I suppose you know Dominic is to have a knighthood. His warewolf's howls are, I am assured, plangent and dismayed." JULIUS MY BELOVED
- the interlude,,, don't talk to me about the interlude I'm still recovering
- RICHARD COMMISSIONING A PORTRAIT FOR HIS FAMILY'S GALLERY WITH A FOX PAINTED IN HIS LAP 😭😭

Very enjoyable update on the couples of the Society of Gentlemen. It was largely a series of letters being exchanged between the friends. There were references to some secondary characters in the stories that I had a hard time recalling. A couple of names I couldn't remember at all. At some point, I'll reread them all at once and get it all straight in my head. The very best part was my very favorite couple, Dom and Silas! Well worth reading simply for that. Short but sweet enough.

Oh so lovely catching up with the boys <3. I suggest rereading the blurbs of the other books before reading this as a refresher and to get your parings straight.
