The Nanny #1

The Doctor's Nanny

Rate this book
Sometimes, no matter where you come from, all you need is love.

When Sasha Rivers is wheeled into the emergency room after a car accident, Dr. Xander Sullivan knows she’s something special. Despite her injuries, Xander can’t help but be entranced by the mystery in her silver-blue eyes. Could this be the woman to bring his playboy days to an abrupt end?

There is much more to Sasha than Xander could ever imagine. Born dirt-poor and raised by a single mother in the heart of Minneapolis, nothing in Sasha’s life was easy. Things only got worse when she fell headlong into a tumultuous relationship with Enrique Sanchez, the son of Mexico’s most notorious drug lord.

And though Enrique continues to lurk in the shadows of her life, Sasha can’t help but find new hope in Xander’s arms. The man she once thought an arrogant asshole is more than meets the eye, and nothing makes that clearer than the relationship he has with his five-year-old daughter, Victoria. Lucky for both of them—Victoria is in desperate need of a nanny, and Sasha is without a job—it’s the perfect match in more ways than one.

As the once-broken doctor and his lonely nanny draw closer together, there’s no ignoring the connection that sparks up between them. They could be the perfect match, except Enrique is willing to do anything and everything to get her back, no matter the consequences.

Emerson Rose has written another brilliant read! This is a completely fabulous story about a playboy doctor and the temporary nanny he hires for his little girl. The chemistry and angst between Xander and Sasha was phenomenal. The story flowed well and suspense and plot twists added to this story perfectly. I really enjoyed this angsty, passionate, suspenseful, loving romance read.

NOTE: Some spoilers contained within this review. Proceed with caution.

I couldn't take the ride on the crazy train with this story. The heroine is unlikable -- she's snarky, rude and judgmental and hiding a very dark secret. The hero wants to hire her as his temporary nanny. The heroine selfishly puts her financial needs ahead of the safety of the heroes daughter who has trust and safety issues stemming from a kidnap attempt several years earlier. The hero and his daughter now live in a gorgeous fortress (by the ocean) complete with panic rooms and alarms on all the windows and doors to keep the bad guys out.

Knowing all this, knowing that the little girl has nightmares and that she has to be medicated to get to sleep, the heroine withholds her scary past from the hero, thus placing them all in danger. After a scare on the beach, the heroine reluctantly tells the hero how her crazy ex-husband is stalking her and that he is the reason why she ended up in the hospital with a broken nose and lacerations to her face. Does the hero cut ties with the heroine which would have solved the problem?! Nope! His answer is to hire extra security and seclude them all inside of his home. Instead of just pressing the Easy button! By ditching the heroine for the safety and sanity of his young daughter! Problem solved. See. Easy. Peasy. Next!

When an unexpected resolution comes out of nowhere for a persistent problem, the bodyguard tells the heroine she got lucky. The heroine takes offense and gets snarky. Unequivocally--no ifs, buts or maybes, the heroine received a nicely gift wrapped package on a platter in a very, very convenient resolution.

For me, this story is just too farfetched with too many unanswered questions along with people who disappear, never to be heard from again.

I'm an Emerson Rose fan so I will continue to read her books.

Emerson Rose. There is no secret that I am a HUGE fan of her. I have been blessed to have been following her since the beginning of her career until now. So when The Doctor's Nanny fell into my lap I knew that I was going to get an amazing read.
And again Emerson did not disappoint.

We meet two opposites in this sinfully naughty novel.
Xander and Sasha.

While Xander is the top plastic surgeon in the country, filthy rich and the ultimate player, we have Sasha, a poor and very much single girl selling shoes at Macy's just trying to get by day by day.

Xander rich.
Sasha poor.
Xander the player.
Sasha the loner.
See complete opposites.

But one night, one accident, one visit to the ER is going to change the course of both their worlds.
Xander and Sasha are thrown together in the most unlikeliest of circumstances.

And it's explosive people.

While Xander is drawn to Sasha, Sasha has her reservations.
While Sasha tries to deny her feelings, Xander is willing to share his.
But what is holding Sasha back?
What can't Xander break down her walls?
What is Sasha keeping from him?
Will her secrets be revealed?
And what impact will they have on Xander?

An absolute brilliant read that I couldn't put down. It's naughty, sinfully delicious, raw, gritty and highly emotional. It's lighthearted, warm and breathtaking.
Xander and Sasha are two characters that you can't help but fall in love with.
But guys be warned.....There is a beautiful little five year old girl, Victoria who will capture your whole heart and will make you fall in love with her instantly.

A highly recommended read for those who share a love of naughty doctors, sassy women and beautiful, angelic five year olds.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved Sasha. She was a "say it how it is" type of person and doesn't hold back. She's sassy and strong. At first Xander is a cocky, arrogant, all women love me, type of person but Sasha changes all that in a blink of an eye.
They meet in the ER after Sasha is involved in a car accident and he stitches up her face and fixes her broken nose.
His daughter Tori, (Victoria) takes an instant liking to Sasha, which is a shock to Xander as Tori doesn't do well with strangers, especially after attempted kidnap by her mother. She is sweet, adorable and not the least bit spoilt for a child who receives everything she wishes. She is wise beyond her years and seen things no 5 year old should see!
So Sasha becomes Tori's temporary nanny after losing her job. She also has an instant connection with Tori and it's wonderful and they both get each other because they've been through similar trauma.
You could see where the story line was going but I enjoyed the journey through the pages. I was happy to see them all get their happy ever afters. The only thing I didn't like was that Emerson made me feel sorry for the villain. I don't know why but I always need to hate the villain but I just couldn't. And I don't like it, lol!
But, overall it's a really great read. Loved it!

I have a new favorite Emerson book! I liked this story a lot, it's sexy, heart warming, protective, suspenseful and just a really good story. Xander is a cocky ladies man because he's the top plastic surgeon in the country and he's a sexy single father, yum! His daughter Tori had a life changing experience thanks to her worthless mother so now he and Tori are extra aware of her safety. Sasha shows up at the ER after a hit and run left her face broken and cut up but luckily for her Dr.Sexy is on duty and fixes her to perfection. Sasha is definitely attracted to him but she doesn't like his cocky attitude but as long as he's a good doctor and works his magic, she can deal with him a little longer. Xander never lacks for attention from the ladies but one lady has his attention and he wants to spend some time with her so luck is on his side when he needs a temporary nanny at the same time that Sasha needs a job. Sasha and Tori immediately bond because they both know what it's like to live with fear and suffer from nightmares of bad men coming after them. Xander knows that Sasha is hiding something from him and that puts all of them in danger. Will the playboy doctor open his heart and change his ways for his sexy, sassy new nanny? With danger lurking around, will Sasha and Xander get the chance to see if they could have something real and lasting? I really liked this story a lot!

One can find love when you least expect it.

Dr. Xander Sullivan, plastic surgeon extraordinaire was the ultimate playboy doctor who used his practice to date and romance his way into being the Dr. Hottie extraordinaire with his female patients. That was until his charms just did not work on a certain emergency room patient he was very attracted too. Sasha Rivers was physically attracted to Xander but his bedside manner and cockiness just turned her off and she let him know it. This was something he was not accustomed to have happen to him, women usually just fell all over him. He was extremely drawned to her and wanted the beautiful silver eyed lady. To top things off, so did his daughter Tori. With the sudden illness of Tori's nanny and Sasha losing her job, she became Tori's temporary live in nanny.

This story was about two people from extremely different backgrounds, becoming attracted to and falling in love with each other. It helps that these two are also glued together by the love for a little girl who loves them both. But Sasha has a crazy ex that she needs to protect Xander and Tori from. Things don't turn out as they expect but they are still able to create their happy family despite a maniac being after them. Karma is a beotch and God does not like ugly.

This was another book that I had downloaded for free, that I chose to start reading after having a DNF book. I was looking for something that would be predictable and mindless that I could read quickly, and this looked like it was going to fit the bill.

I was so wrong! I thought this was going to be one of those books that was written well enough that the typos were at a minimum, young woman plus sexy alpha male doctor plus them spending 75% of the book in the bedroom equals a happily ever after. Now this book did have a young woman, sexy alpha male doctor and a HEA but they did not spend 75% of the time in the bedroom. It was NOT predictable in the slightest. I was not prepared for the characters to have so much depth to them. As much as this was a romance, and with these sort of books that normally means sex every other chapter, this story focused a lot more on the relationship aspect. It was interesting to see how throwing a five year old child into the mixed creates a different dynamic between the characters.

I loved the way the relationship developed between not just Sasha and Xavier but also between Sasha and Victoria (Xavier's daughter). The father/daughter relationship was also nice to see, as it was believable and not something that is often focused on in these types of stories. Great characters aside, this is really well written, with a good pace and flow that makes for easy reading. As well as this there is a pretty good story line underneath everything that keeps the whole thing progressing nicely.

I really enjoyed reading this and would recommend it if you are looking for something that is quick to read but still has a bit of depth to it.

Sasha can’t stand the doctor that is going to fix her nose. He is arrogant and doesn’t mind showing it. So in a short amount of time, she had a horrible wreck, has nose surgery and looses her job. When the sexy doc offers her a job, she really can’t turn it down.
Xander is very intrigued by Sasha. He needs a nanny but he also wants her. These two go on a journey that is full of lust, danger and crazy moments. Will Sasha’s past put everyone near deaths door or can Xander put an end to her haunting past once and for all. Excellent writing.

Xander is a rich, sexy, playboy, who is a top plastic surgeon, and when Sasha who is a poor single girl in brought into the ER, the chemistry between them is explosive. These two are total opposites, yet are perfect together. This is an emotional, naughty, light-hearted, raw, gritty, sinful and powerful storyline. I was totally hooked and intrigued from the very beginning, and I look forward to reading more of this authors’ work. I highly recommend this extremely talented authors’ work for all readers, as you will never be disappointed.

The title sounds simple, cut and dried, but the story line is anything but simple. How Sasha and Xander come to meet is sad and tragic. Sasha is hired as a temporary nanny to Xander's daughter, Tori. Tori is NOT a spoiled brat that you tolerate as a character, but is a child that is wise beyond her years; one that you want to love and protect. This book has attraction, snuggles and love, but it also has anxious moments, fear and heartache. It is nicely written with dual POV.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Seriously, who does not love Emerson Rose. this is the beginning of a new series and she definitely has another hit on her. Sasha and Xander plus cutie Victoria have their ups and downs but make it though and get their HEA. Sasha is a take no crap kind of a gal, that's been at a low point and got her stuff back together. Xander is an AMAZING dad to his little one and super hot and smart. this is a 4.5 read for me.

This was a good read. The writing flowed well, and the story was okay. Xander and Sasha are okay together. Sometimes it was a little too much opposites for me, but that got better as the story went on. I pretty much knew where the drama was headed, but it was a good read to get there. This isn't the first for me from this author, and it won't be my last.

The successful, sexy doctor and the nanny were a sizzling hot couple waiting to explode. Xander and Sasha met when she ended up on in a car accident, and they got off to a patchy start, their chemistry soon took over. I liked Sasha's character but I thought she was a bit too judgmental. I loved Tori too, she was adorable. Good sexy single dad romance.

Sometimes, A Good Book Is All You Need...

I enjoy all things Emerson Rose, and "The Doctor's Nanny" is no exception. It was lust turned love at first sight for Xander when he stitched Sasha's injuries after a car accident. They both had histories, including Xander's 5 year old daughter Victoria who comes in immediate need of a nanny.

I was entertained by the love story between Xander and Sasha. Good build up between them as well as the chemistry. I also enjoyed how Tori was incorporated into the story to bring Xander and Sasha closer together initially. The suspense is paced well as well as not over-the-top, so it adds organic drama to the story. Solid read and I look forward to the next book by the author.

Good story

I was really having a hard time liking Sasha and I'm pretty sure that I don't. She made some really stupid decisions. Luckily for her Dander loved her. I didn't read any of the bonus books.

Good suspense filled page turner. It will keep you guessing until the very end.

This has humor, grit and decent characters. Not your normal premise of what you might think of when looking for a new read with a HEA. No cliffhangers.

Great Story

Really good story. I just have 1 complaint, I think it would have been better if the characters were closer in age. I think a 16 year difference was just a tad too much
