World renowned geoarcheologist Jackson Whiteside has come home to Colorado to care for his grandmother and teach at CSU…not to rekindle the passionate, but doomed love affair with gramma’s high-spirited neighbor whose memory has haunted him half-way across the globe. But the moment he sees his feisty, melodramatic ex, his cortisol levels spike. And he damn well knows he’s about to unearth more layers of their relationship…whether his neurotransmitters like it or not.
If there’s one thing dancer and dispatch operator Mya Castillo can do well, it’s Tango. But dancing with her feet is one thing...dancing with her heart is another. Especially when she has no choice but to accept her ex— the world’s most unintentionally sexy professor—as her stand-in partner for the biggest performance of her life.
Jack’s two-year scientific immersion has kept a tight lid on his dangerous right-brained proclivities, but his irritatingly illogical gut is telling him the attack on Mya’s dance partner jeopardizes more than just her dance studio. It bodes evil toward the woman he still loves beyond reason, so this is one dance he won’t sit out.
Misty Dietz loves her man, her kids, kayaking, and Dean Winchester (oh yeah, Supernatural fans unite!). She writes romance, but she reads anything she can get her hands on, usually with her fur baby on her lap.
She spends her days writing sexy, adrenaline-fueled stories, enjoying family and friends, and praying her children don't come home with math homework.
I loved this book! Mya is a feisty cuban and a temper to boot. Jackson is a sexy geek. But when these two get together it's magic! I highly recommend this book!
I was given an ARC for an honest review. We revisit Maya after she set her brother up with a visit to the castle in Flirting With Fire.
This time Maya is the center of attention when Jackson comes back to take care of his Gramma who is Maya's next door neighbor. The love and chemistry between Maya and Jack hasn't faded despite the distance or Jack's two year absence.
However, a very real threat to their happily ever after makes itself known so will Maya and Jack's love be able to stand the storm?
When Mya's ex comes home, the passion between them is still there. But so are the same reasons why they broke up. Can they make it work a second time as Jackson fills in for her hurt dance partner? Will feelings get in the way of their dance competition? What about when Jackson gets the chance of a lifetime? Will he make the same choice that lost him Mya the first time, AGAIN?
I found Tango and Lace an entertaining, sexy story. I liked Mya and Jackson together, how well the opposites attract thing worked for them. There is some suspense, secrets and of course, the chemistry between Jackson and Mya is electric. I'm looking forward to more from this author.
Mya Castillo is not only a dispatcher in Colorado, she's also a dancer. Jackson Whiteside is her ex who's been on the other side of the world being a well renowned geoarcheologist for the past two years. He's summoned home once his gramma (and Mya's neighbor) has a heart attack. Mya is about to dance the most important dance of her life, until her dance partner is attacked in her home. Now she has to determine if she still has the dance chemistry with Jack so she can try and win the dance competition and get the dance studio of her dreams. All while trying to determine if her love for him is still there. I really loved this story, as well as trying to figure out who is after her.
If you're looking for a hot read on a hot night, I recommend this book. It has everything you could want between the covers. Rekindled love, suspense and the Tango.
If you've never read Misty Dietz, I suggest you pick up a copy of Tango & Lace and fall in love with love.
Mya dance teacher trying to get her own studio. Jack just back from 2 years in Jerusalem having been part of a team having found some dead sea scrolls. They ended their relationship when he left, but now he is back at his grandmother's next door. Frist day back and danger hits at Mya's house and everyone jumps to protect her and her siblings. Fun action packed story of family and love. This book is a good read about 1 1/2 hours.

Mya Castillo, sister of Cole from Flirting with Fire, is back with a bang. She is the neighbour of Jackson Whitesides gran and when her house is falling apart and she has a health scare, Mya and Cole, along with some of Rosies grandsons decide to get the place back into shape. But she forgot that one of those grandsons is Jackson Whiteside. After all out of sight is out of mind...right? But when he returns home after 2 years abroad Mya is flustered, panicked and desperate. Her current dance partner has been sidelined by a freak accident and she needs to win her latest dance competition. She and Jack used to make music together, on and off the dancefloor, but can she trust him with her heart again? Or Will he yet again choose his career over her?
I LOVED this book! I loved Mya when i first met her in Coles book and I'm so happy that she gets her own HEA. Jackson is like an amped up, nerd king with muscles! That man can move and he has a few choice manoeuvres in the bedroom too!! I loved trying to work out who was messing with Mya and I got it right! Yay me! I loved all the nerdydom that Jack spouts but I loved learning more about the dance world ( I have two left feet and no sense of rhythm whatsoever!) Fab dialogue, witty and engaging characters, dangerous stalkers and we have ....murder on the dancefloor...well not quite but you get my drift!! FABULOUS book!
Tango & Lace is an incredible story filled with excitement. Mya Castillo does not disappoint as the passionate Tango dancer who has never gotten over her first love Jackson Whiteside. Jackson is the grandson of her next-door neighbor and a globe-trotting geoarcheologist who walked away from Mya two years ago. Now he's back to help care for his grandmother who has developed some health problems and the sparks between he and Mya are as intense as ever. Neither is sure if they're willing to risk heartbreak all over again, but when Mya's dancing partner is injured in a suspicious accident Jackson must step in. These two are magic on the dance floor and in the bedroom, once they stop arguing with each other that is. The author, Misty Dietz, has really created an entertaining story with mystery, danger, non-stop action, great characters, witty dialogue and banter... all as a side dish to this incredible second chance love story. You really don't want to miss this one! 4 stars
Tango & Lace by Misty Dietz was a fast paced romance with a touch of mystery that added to it's deliciousness. Mya and Jackson set the pages on fire as soon as they meet again with their chemistry. The story flowed smoothly, the romance was hot, dancing the Tango created more flames and all of the characters were well developed. A great read and a fiery addition to The Hard Men of the Rockies series. Read it and be swept off your feet by the Tango.
Tango & Lace is a fast-paced story with great characters and a fabulously entertaining plot.
Mya and Jackson have a combustible chemistry that obliterates two years apart, makes their pulses race, and sets the dance floor on fire too. The unusual mix of scientific excellence and the seductive influence of Cuban dance made for an all-round exhilarating and breathtaking read.
Ms Dietz definitely has a new and excited reader who can’t wait to discover more of this author’s fabulous work.
This is the second book in the Colorado Heartthrob series. This book contains the story of Jackson and Mya. We get a second chance style story with these two. Jackson is back to help his grandmother fix up her house as he has been away for work. Mya lives next door. Jackson and Mya have been together in the past and give the illusion of no scars. Mya is a competitive dancer and she has a competition coming up which she is put in a lurch for as her original partner is injured. Mya needs a substitute.......Jackson. This was a very quick paced story that contains a lot of movement and keeps you turning the pages until the last word. I enjoyed reading about both of these characters and the complicated walk they have on their road HEA.

This was a fantastic second chance romance story from Misty Dietz. Mya and Jackson were high school sweethearts until problems in their relationship drove a wedge between them. Now years later they are reunited and although the problems are there, their feelings and connection is still there too. Tango and Lace is a gripping story filled with drama, heartache, healing, a sassy, spitfire of a dancer, a sweet geoarcheologist, a kidnapping, danger, passion, romance, and love. This is a captivating must read that readers will fall in love with and won't want to put down. I really loved this new book and can't wait for the next book in the series.

Tango and Lace by Misty Dietz was a riveting, fast paced novella that I really got into and enjoyed! Jackson has 'finally' come home to help care for his grandmother Rosie and help fix up her house. But home also means seeing his former lover Mya...a hot blooded woman with whom things ended poorly. Mya is part of his grandmother's life, so there is no way they can avoid each other. When they meet again, all kinds of sparks fly, but Mya is determined not to fall for him again. Circumstances push them together with a little help from Rosie, but can either of them risk their heart for the other again for someone they're never truly gotten over? Suddenly there is more than their hearts at risk though, and as danger stalks Mya, they find the walls they've build to protect themselves for each other crumbling. Will they be able to take the chance? Or is it too late for second chances?
I loved this novella! In particular I loved Mya!!! She is feisty, passionate, and holds nothing back! She literally holds nothing back! I loved the Spanish phrases that fly out of her mouth, her hot temper. her passion for family, her caring for others, even her life plan is one of passion for her...and eventually her passion for Jackson. She is a powerful, strong main character who will stick with me. She is a heroine I can clearly see in my mind. Make no mistake, Jackson is just as lovable and a very strong hero. He's also passionate, but for him it doesn't flow out of him as easily! The care these two so obviously have and fight against for each other is palpable throughout Tango and Lace. The suspense of danger directed towards Mya adds a lot of edge to Tango and Lace, and Misty had me totally fooled about who it was and what would happen!
The secondary characters are just as powerful and relevant to the plot. As usual, Rosie shows up, and she is a constant in this series. I love her. She is definitely not your typical grandmother and if mine was still alive I'd love it if she was like Rosie! All of the secondary characters stand strong and show up from other books in this series, but for me it is Rosie who shines.
Despite some conflict and tension, and an unexpected danger thrown into their lives, they all handle it so well and felt like a family I'd love to be a part of ((both families!).
Tango & Lace is part of the Hard Men of the Rockies novella series, but this one is a definite stand alone. I would highly recommend it to any romance reader who liked strong family connections and second chances!
Great book. At first I was concerned with the Spanish in the book since I don't know what it says but it just added to the books unique qualities. I loved this love story with a little bit of suspense.
"Love isn't perfect. People aren't perfect, but this could be your second chance." I think Jack's grandmother, Rosie, said it best with this one quote. Her statement sums up the whole story. Mya and Jack are both complex people with their fair share of flaws, but their opposites definitely attract. I had a hard time with some of the bigger words that were used, but it does make sense to use a more intellectual dialogue since one of the main characters is a geoarchaeologist. This story did have some suspense which I really enjoyed. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, it went in a new direction.
I really enjoyed this short story in this series, it seems gramma`s family who seem to be all sexy men are really taking good care of her. it`s a good story line with Jackson and Mya getting close again after 2 years apart. It seems dancing is`nt the only thing on there minds. Some very sexy dance scene`s and the threat of someone harming Mya and of course gramma`s matchmaking make for an enjoyable read and of course the well written sex scenes help too. I was given this ARC to read for an honest and unbiased review.
This tango might be hotter than ever. There's mystery, danger, action, amazing characters, witty dialogue and banter to boot!!!!! Who ever thought that a dancer and a geoarcheologist could be such a sizzling match?

Misty Dietz has invented a new genre: Second Chance Romantic Comedy Action Suspense.
I love it!!
This was a definite deviation from her awesome Paranormal Romantic Action Suspense 'Unholy Inc' series but it still had the same fast-paced captivating story-line one can always expect to find in a book by Ms. Dietz.
This is the second book in her Colorado Heartthrobs Series and it starts off with a bang. Literally. The action does not stop there. Chemical filled canisters, stalking, kidnapping, arson and a sexy tango dance competition - this book has it all!
I hope Misty continues this series with some of the secondary characters getting their own stories in the future. Arturo and Lilith (together maybe)? As well as the younger Castillo siblings eventually?
Mya and Jackson (Jack) have chemistry off the charts and I immediately adored Mya. I did not think much of Jack (in fact he was somewhat of a dick through a good half of the book) but he does eventually learn the hardest lesson the majority of men throughout the ages have all had to learn. It Is Not All About Them!! Even though he did almost blow it in the end he managed to redeem himself so he and Mya get their second chance HEA.
Thank you, Misty for another great FIVE Star book!
