Eight years ago, I let the woman I love walk away over canned cranberry sauce. And it was the worst mistake of my life.
So when she shows up to play Santa for my daughter’s preschool Christmas party, you’re damn right I’m going to try to get her back.
Except Kaitlyn Holly’s lost all of her Christmas cheer. Which means it’s my job to help her get it back. No matter what it takes.
Exes and Ho Ho Hos is a short, sexy, standalone Christmas romance told in alternating first person, complete with reindeer, a Santa brawl, and a little mishap on the most iconic skating rink in New York City. It stands alone and has a merrily ever after.
Before she became a USA Today and #1 Amazon bestselling romantic comedy author, she was a young military spouse who got into writing as self-therapy. That happened around the time she discovered reading romance novels, and the two eventually merged into a career. Today, she has more than 30 knee-slapping Pippa Grant titles and nine published under the name Jamie Farrell.
When she’s not writing romantic comedies, she’s fumbling through being a mom, wife, and mountain woman, and sometimes tries to find hobbies. Her crowning achievement? Having impeccable timing for telling stories that will make people snort beverages out of their noses. Consider yourself warned.
Exes & Ho Ho Hos is a short, sexy holiday story by Pippa Grant.
Eight years ago, Kaitlyn Holly lived for Christmas. And for the love of her life, Jake Huntington. Kaitlyn’s family owns the city’s largest Santa booking company. An argument that got blown way out of proportion ended her relationship with Jake. After the loss of her parents, Kaitlyn lost Christmas.
Jake never forgot Kaitlyn. After they broke up, a rebound relationship ended in a pregnancy and wedding. The marriage didn’t last but Zoe, his little girl, is the light of his life. Now that he’s found Kaitlyn again, he’s not letting her get away.
“When our lips touch, it’s like I’m coming home. Cinnamon and chocolate and peppermint flood my senses.”
This was a quirky, sexy and sweet little story. Of course, the Berger twins also make an appearance! Jake and Kaitlyn are given a second chance at finding love. And, Jake needs to help Kaitlyn find Christmas again. This might be the best Christmas ever for Jake and Kaitlyn. This story also has an adorable little epilogue.
I thought this would be a cute Xmas book to read in between baking and cooking for tomorrow. It was not. One, the reason they broke up eight years prior was BEYOND childish. Two, he sure didn't wait long to move on by knocking up an OW and marrying her. Three, she falls right back into bed with him a couple of hours after seeing him for the first time in eight years. Instead of HOHOHO, this was BAH HUMBUG.
2.75 stars. A whole lot of Christmas Craziness from the "wacky" Pippa Grant. Short and smutty novella.
Of all my regrets in life, my biggest at the moment was sitting on Santa’s lap at Macy’s when I was three and asking for a little brother. Because the fucker delivered, and I want a refund. Twenty-five years isn’t too late to return him, is it? …………………
Christmas in July? Why not! This was cheesy and funny and festive and sexy and fun... all the right ingredients for a quick and merry read. This was a great holiday novella. It will definitely put you in the mood... ;-)
For Christmas! Get your mind out of the gutter. :p
This was a freebie today, and I had half an hour to kill, so I figured why not? It was a sweet little second chance romance about a woman who had given up on Christmas, but still owned a Santa rental business with her brothers, and her college boyfriend meeting up eight years after they split. Not a lot of pages for story development, but I have now borrowed a book with crossover characters on kindle unlimited because I needed more. Hoping I've found a new favourite author to stalk!
3.5 stars — I was worried I wouldn’t connect with the humour, because that happens a lot with really popular romantic comedies…I guess I just don’t always follow the masses with what I find funny. But I enjoyed it more than I expected! It definitely has a bit of an over the top feel, but it was balanced by a lot of heart, which is exactly what I want. That and a great Christmas feel, it was perfect to get into the spirit of things.
I thought both Kaitlyn and Jake were easy to connect with. I loved that we got to learn their history a bit at a time, and that you could understand how much they felt for one another, but you really got the idea that they just weren’t at the right time in their lives to work it out. Kaitlyn had a bit of a holier than thou attitude about Jake’s family business, but I could see it with her personality, and with that idealized college age. And I appreciated that the reasons for her losing her Christmas spirit was more than just their break up…I really felt for her.
Jake was pretty sweet. I loved how determined he was to connect with her again and show her how important she was to his life.
They had pretty good chemistry, though I didn’t get that into their steamy scenes. I just felt…disconnected? I don’t know. I’m also not huge on all the innuendos thrown in at every opportunity. *shrugs* But that’s just me.
I loved the few appearances by Zoe, she made me laugh so much. And I’m sure if I’d read other books by Ms. Grant, I would love the cameos by what are clearly other heroes…makes me curious about their stories…
So all in all a solid fun holiday romantic comedy.
"She's wrapping her arms around my chest, resting her head over my heart. Her heart. Always has been."
Loved Kaitlyn and Jake's reconciliation and how Jake restores her joy in Christmas. It was fun, amusing, and sexy. Enjoyed the cameo appearances from a couple of characters from this author's Copper Valley Thrusters series. Loved it!
This short Christmas story is leaving me with a few questions...... Jake & Katlyan broke up 8 years ago and he says she is the love of his life and he regrets it ever since however he not only went and married someone else but had a kid 🤔 I think I might be over thinking this one just a little 😆
This was a quick, steamy and sometime funny second chance romance. It was a little on the cute side at times, but not enough to make me not like it or turn too syrupy sweet. It was a perfect Christmas tale as these two former lovers find one another again and both have changed. Jake has changed but so has Kaitlyn. In the most significant way is Kaitlyn used to have so much Christmas spirit but now has lost it. It was enjoyable to see her find and to see the couple find their way back to one another. A wonderful holiday read.
This is a super quick, get you in the holiday spirit, second chance romance. Kaitlyn and Jake were college sweethearts but had a falling out and went their own ways. Years later, when Kaitlyn is playing Santa at Jake’s daughter’s Christmas party, he knows this year his Christmas miracle might come true. Unfortunately Kaitlyn has lost her holiday spirit. Jake is determined to help her find it again.
Quick hilarious and steamy read. Typical Pippa Grant silliness with a few cameos from the Berger Twins. All the naughty Christmas euphemisms you can handle and lots of smoldering steamy scenes. A quick read that'll put you in the holiday spirit with a sweet HEA.
At last! A funny, hot and festive romance. Kaitlin has lost her Christmas spirit. Jake found it when they split up. Can he help her find it again? Warm as spiced cider, sparkling like the sun on snow, this is a brilliant short story full of love. It's also full of PUNishing jokes, as Jake and his candy cane and jingle bells, find their way back to Santa's grotto (that last bit was me, sorry). Terrific, I loved it.
