I liked this one, but I can't say it wowed me!

It would be a good filler book, or if you need a quick, light easy read!

There was very little drama, some good banter, not much steam.

MEH *shrugs*

Chris went to Muddy Mountain Resort to start a 'new' life (as a waiter, yes) and planned not to jump into bed right immediately with any man he was attracted to as part of his New Year's resolution. So when he met ski instructor, Trevor, Chris tried to take things slow. I thought it would result in slow-burn relationship, starting with friendship.

But then we had a slight misunderstanding, an ex-boyfriend who didn't really understand the word "no", a chef who seemed to have a revenge against Trevor, a guilt over dead lover ... and I just lost any interest. It was like all these were added for the sake of 'drama' because maybe, without it, it was clear that the story was dull. It didn't win me over. Not a little bit. Maybe if I haven't read 1000+ stories before this one.

And the ending ... wasn't there still a lot of things hanging loose out there? Chris's ex? Mason's anger? How about those?

So yeah, MEH. At least it was a novella length...

An easy going romance with low angst and a touch of misunderstanding which is quickly resolved because our heroes actually talk a lot. I liked it, and it was an easy read to wile the time away.

This was a pretty good book. Very intriguing in ways. Kinda led you on a little bit as far as the storyline to keep you hooked. And I am actually anxious to see if there will be another book. I can see where it would go if so. Well hopefully. There's a story for a Mason there somewhere lol. But anyway. The storyline had a few moments where I was like what? And I was so hooked to find out what happened next.

Chris has made a New Year's resolution. He wants to learn to ski. He figures it's a resolution that never happens so he just said it to say it. Until his friend Jenny ended up hooking him into a job with a ski resort 3 hours away. With the way his life has been going, dumped by his ex (who keeps popping up conveniently *ahem*), losing his job and not getting paid his last paycheck, (and that's just some of it),he figures why not listen to her and get a fresh start somewhere. So he gets the job and takes off. He makes a resolution to also not jump into bed with someone right off the bat and actually take time to get to know someone. The minute he gets there to the resort though, and he wanders how he's going to do it, because the hottest guy he's ever seen with the greenest eyes ever is flirting with him, AND he's an instructor. Trevor is just so hot and chemistry is exploding between them. But Chris puts his foots down, regretfully, and tries to stick to his rule. But the pull is too much and about a week later, it happens. But there is so much history going on around Chris and he's confused and wary and doesn't know if he can really trust Trevor. And it seems everyone wants them apart. Especially the memory of Trevor's dead lover, Lane.

Sometimes the best intentions seem to fall apart in front of our eyes. Chris is determined to try to make a new start, but his new boss is an ass, the ski instructor is flirting with him, and he doesn't know if he's going to last a week. He wants to, but another part of him wants to run. He's scared to get involved with Trevor, for fear of the same old thing happening, and he doesn't want it to be awkward at work. But he definitely has the hots for the man. Trevor wants to be with Chris too, but after getting kind of a brush off, he has steered clear, not sure what to think. Trevor has secrets that haunt him to this day. The death of his lover, Lane, still weighs heavily on him and he's scared to open up again. So he feels like if the door is going to shut in his face, why bother? But these two want to be together so bad. But it's going to take a lot of trust and opening up to do it. And communication. After a near death experience, things kinda really come to a head, and it's basically shit or get off the pot. These two have to make a decision to be together or go their separate ways. Fortunately, chemistry seems to speak for them lol. I admire both of these boys. Chris is more or less…I hate to say spineless...but pretty close. But he decided to face his fears and make a fresh start in life and try to stick to his guns and his rules to make things better. Trevor is still more or less loving in the past with Lane, and he had to finally let go in order to move on with Chris. Very hard to do for both of them. But in order to get to something better, you have to let go of the fear and move on. Anything worth having is worth fighting for.

This book was so much fun. I always enjoy S.C.'s books, but this was less dramatic than some. Lots of humor and hot scenes. One I will re-read for sure.

Chris is drowning his sorrows on New Year's Eve with his best friend, Jenny. His boyfriend has dumped him and he's about to lose his job. Jenny persuades him to apply for a job as a waiter in a ski resort which is perfect as one of his New Year's Resolutions is to learn to ski.

Cue one hot ski instructor called Trevor who has a dodgy past and a twinkle in his eye for Chris. The trouble is that Chris's relationships always start with sex and then things get awkward when they realise they have nothing in common. You can't spend all your time having sex, right?

Right. He's promised Jenny that his other New Year's Resolution is to get to know the next guy he's attracted to before he tumbles into bed with him. And he kind of wants to keep that Resolution up until he breaks it. And then things get awkward. (But the sex was amazing.)

A lecherous head waiter, one dead past boyfriend (Trevor's), one live ex-boyfriend (Chris's) who keeps turning up wherever Chris is, and a brush with death are all mixed up with humour, sexy times and excellent storytelling.

I enjoyed this story. It's a light romance, not too angsty, and with enough of a plot to keep me turning the pages. The characters are believable and I'd love to go out for a drink with Jenny one time. I reckon she'd be a right laugh :D

Cute light story, just what I needed in my weekend.
The idea of moving on and really 'moving' made Chris cringed, liked it or not, he needed to, at least he needed a job and not seeing his ex in regular basis.
Finding love in a ski resort is the last one he expected, but then he met Trevor, Trevor made it hard for Chris to keep on his promised not to jump straight to bed to any guy again.
But Trevor is not any guy, he's gorgeous, affectionate, sweet and sexy. Kinda hard to resist, right?
This is a heartwarming story about starting over again, after a bitter past both for both Trevor and Chris, a maybe holiday fling leads to a great relationship between the two men.
I liked the dynamic between Trevor and Chris, at least Chris didn't straight away jumped into bed with Trevor, not until he felt insecurities about Trevor's interest in him.
So yeah, this one is fun, light and enjoyable read I really liked. Recommended!

"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."

I was impressed by how much story got packed into a short read. There was enough detail and dialogue to give background and potential for a future. The idea of basing the story around a New Year's resolution was fun, and ensured that the plot worked. The leads weren't damaged by their pasts, just wary, so the excesses of angst were avoided. Jenny was a fun character and I hope we get her story too (hint hint Ms Wynne).

Falling into Love is an enjoyable, quick to read, m/m romance. I like our hero Chris. Unlucky in love (usually because he is dating not so great guys) he is a laid back and easy to understand character. The chemistry between Chris and sexy ski instructor Trevor was natural, as was the conflict that arises.

Falling into Love was a good read and I hope the author considers writing stories for Mason or Jenny.

This was adorable and fun with the exact kind of understated witty dialogue I've come to expect from SC Wynne. Loved Chris to pieces and I want to know more about Trevor. I'm usually pretty good at accepting shorter stories for what they are, but I have to admit I am pondering the kinds of bribery that might get me a follow up about these two...

First of all this is a light and easy read perfect for when you're wanting to be entertained without having to work for it.

The plot is straightforward without any major twists and the characters are likeable and easy to relate too though they don't have all that many dimensions to them.

I'll definitely recommend checking out this author and her work for those times where you just need to relax and let your mind go to a happy place.

This was a really cute, sweet story essentially about two people who find love again after a loss and breakup. I think what I loved the most is the hope this story instills in its readers. I loved Trevor and Chris together. It was awesome experiencing their connection and watching the relationship develop, grow, and persevere even after a few obstacles were thrown in their path.

Chris has been dealt his share of bad luck. He’s just lost his job and his boyfriend to another man. He knows things have to change and he knows he has to be the one to change them. After a night out drinking and talking with his best friend Jenny, Chris decides enough’s enough. He’s going to follow through with a goal he set for himself of learning to ski all the while starting a new job and new adventures at a ski resort.

Trevor Brown is a ski instructor at the ski resort where Chris’s new job awaits. The moment Chris and Trevor see each other you can feel the pull of attraction. But Chris trying to break old habits of falling into bed too soon with men and Trevor still battling the grief of his dead lover, you get the feeling it’s going to be an uphill battle.

Chris and Trevor trudge through the beginnings of their blossoming relationship. I loved how sweet and hot these two were together. The chemistry was off the charts.

I truly enjoy this author’s writing style. I was engaged and interested in the story the whole way through.

Of course there are issues that just added to the plot and made everything all the juicier. I loved Jenny. She was Chris’s rock and support. What a great addition. The different love triangle additions were entertaining as well. I sure did love to have Mason.

Overall, a very sweet, hopeful read that I definitely recommend.

Adorable sweet read! Trevor and Chris were very cute. I wasn't a fan of the ending, I really did to like Riley (although I'm sure that's how it was written), I need an epilogue that shows Jenny there getting married. Lol

A cute, lighthearted story. Chris is a nice guy who has been choosing the wrong men for a while. His job choices haven't been much better. On the prodding of his best friend (as well as the goading of an ex), he makes some changes in his life. The first of which is leaving town and taking a job at a ski resort. There, he meets Trevor.

Trevor seems really interested in Chris, but he's not sure what to do with Chris's mixed signals at the beginning. These two are cute together once they clear the air between them. The banter between characters was funny. I was happy to see Chris doing a lot of things differently and actually listen and try to communicate with Trevor as they navigated through some potential relationship ending issues. They both had insecurities and doubts, but they worked through them.

There was a lot that happens in this book: an ex that drops in at the worst times, a dead boyfriend to contend with, an accident, and a jealous suitor. While that seems like a lot of drama, it was handled in a good manner without getting too heavy and still giving the impetus for change.

I am hoping that we will see another book soon featuring Mason.

I liked this story a lot. In the dedication, the author states that they wanted to write something lighthearted and romantic. And they sure did with this book.
The story is told from Chris’s POV, so we get quite a good understanding what he feels and thinks. He is a bit insecure and self-doubting, thinking he is not cut out for serious relationships. Trevor is somewhat harder to pinpoint but is a caring guy, who is still hurting after his boyfriend’s death. Their attraction and chemistry is undeniable and
There are some bumps in the road including some exes and an icy adventure, but the end is very satisfying.
The best part of this book was the banter. It was so funny I was grinning all the time. Not over the top, but just my kind of humor.
I loved Jenny, Chris’s best friend. In many books, a guy’s best friend is a girl with either all sorts of good advice or snarky comments. She is somewhere in between. A sassy girl but with her heart in the right place. Again, portrayed really well without overdoing it.
All in all a charming and indeed lighthearted romantic book.

If you're looking for sweet, light, romantic fun, you've come to the right place. Trevor and Chris were all of those things, and they were sexy, too. Once again, SC Wynne provides a respite from the book hangover and the heavier read. The few bumps in the road to happiness were resolved with minimal angst, and there was depth to the characters I don't usually find in "light and sweet" books, a credit to the author's writing, which I have always loved. Although this was told from Chris's POV only, I didn't feel like I was missing out on Trevor--more kudos to SC Wynne.

On the other hand, I found myself wanting more. I might be just a bit spoiled; I have read some of this author's heavier works, such as Believing Rory and Memories Follow, which completely blew me away, and I'd be lying if I didn't say I'd love to see more of that from the supremely talented SC Wynne. That being said, I will always want to read what this author writes; regardless of what it is, I know I'll enjoy it.

3.5 stars. This is a good story about two guys who are both trying to get past some not so great history. Chris has decided to turn over a new leaf, so to speak, at the prodding of his best friend Jenny. He's been in a rut of dead-end jobs and relationships. He goes off to a ski resort to take a job as a waiter and learn to ski - his New Year's resolution. Trevor is a ski instructor at the resort. He and Chris hit is off right away, but Chris holds him a bit at arms length - by being honest with him! Chris is working on his communication rather than just jumping into bed with the first hot guy that catches his fancy. After a few fits and starts, they seem to be on the best page. But the past doesn't seem to want to leave them alone. And then there is an accident that brings them full circle.

I enjoyed the writing and the characters. I would LOVE to see a story for Jenny and for Mason. Maybe even Jules. There are a goldmine of characters that could all use HEAs!

I really liked this book, the characters, and the location sounds so much fun,

Chris moves to the resort for a fresh start. He meets Trevor that is a ski instructor there. They instantly hit it off and have their eyes set in each other.

They face some bumps along the way for example ex-boyfriends, co-workers that don't support them together, and fears of their own personal relationship problems.

They finally learn to communicate and trust each other to totally fall in love. These characters were super sweet and caring. I was happy with them opening up and learning new things about themselves to give this relationship a shot.

Maybe there will be a book 2 of some of the other characters. I would love that

A new year's resolutions to be brave and overcome fear leads to love. Great banter and some sizzling chemistry set the stage for a sweet love story. Fun story about learning to fall and that it is okay to not be perfect. Chris and Trevor both have some growing to do in this story as they learn to accept themselves and learn to trust.

i found the setting engaging and the story-line kept me reading and enjoying! i really fell in love with Chris and Trevor!

Great read! Looking forward to more stories in the Muddy Mountain Resort Series!

This is a sweet, hot and fun read and I really enjoyed it. Chris and Trevor meet when Chris arrives at the Muddy Mountain Resort determined to turn his life around with a new job, a resolution to learn how to ski and to hopefully connect with someone in a real way. His best friend thinks getting away from his ex and being out of the city will be good for him and he promises her that he will get to know someone before he sleeps with them. Trevor has a tragedy in his past that he is still dealing with but he wants Chris. Neither of them are good at communicating their feelings but their bumbling efforts to create a relationship make this story interesting. I loved the ending and I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
