James hoped his jump would finally bring his miserable life to an end. It did, but not in the way he intended.
High above Earth, the Volardi – tall, muscular, virile aliens – are in desperate need of males to repopulate their race. Their desperation gives rise to the Omega Program, an active campaign to convert the perfect candidates.
When Melk and Trevah rescue James from a rocky cliff free-fall, they entice him with an opportunity to be the first Earthling Omega and bring Earth into a Golden Age.
Hot gay guys, a science fiction lifestyle, and a family? What could go wrong? Unfortunately for James, everything.
Note:The Aliens and Their Omega is a complete standalone alpha/beta/omega non-shifter mpreg (male pregnancy) romance.
This 31,000-word science fiction m/m/m novella contains detailed descriptions of steamy threesome sex with muscled aliens. Includes anal and oral situations with a firm touch of dominance.
More like 2.5 stars for me, but this started very abruptly and then ended very...oddly? And while the middle was enjoyable, I never really felt connected to the characters or really saw what they all saw in each other.
Like, we knew Melk and Treveah were a couple already but pretty much knew nothing about them, their past separately or together, or how their feelings came to be for James. And James just started the story like right in the middle of things, we were just told what was going on with him.
Not sure why I subject myself to things I know are going to go horribly wrong.
Today was one of that days where I wanted to read a short story two, preferably something far beyond reality... usually in those case I go for mpreg stories. What can I say??? I love hot men and babies... so therefor I love hot men having babies of their own while other hot men take care of them.. ***swoons***
Anyways, now that I’ve justified my dirty dirty self... I’ll admit that while I love the genre a majority of the stuff out there is trash. I would say this one came in a step below those others ones...
Another reviewer summed up their review with ”Huh?” in their review and I don’t think you can get more accurate than that.... honestly
One, how the hell do you start a story like this... it was like starting a book in the middle of an interrogation... you have no idea what’s going on.
Two, I’m confused on how a new chapter starts while you’re in the same scene... even the same damn conversation... shit there could have been 3 chapters within the same scene... I don’t remember. Anyways an editor would have been good, maybe a beta reader?
Three, there was zero chemistry or emotion in the writing or in the story, these guys could have been anything but lovers... strangers, brothers, cousins... who knows because you couldn’t tell.
Lastly, so many things jumped at random that it wasn’t even funny... James, I’m pretty sure his name is James... it was only used once or twice in the beginning, we never really get a full introduction to him... anyways this book should be called “The Aliens and the internal ramblings of James”. The whole story was pretty much his thoughts. Imagine your having trouble sleeping and your thoughts are jumping from here to there... and then... oh yea brain don’t forget this... that’s pretty much how this read. The author just wrote her thoughts on the story as she went in without a care of trying to perfecting it into a story.
Now maybe that’s harsh and I’m sorry.... but when I read like a 20 page +/- sex scene with literally no dialogue, and just James’s rambling thoughts... it makes me want to shoot something.
And I swear to all that is holy, if I see the term “gay handsome” again I will throw my kindle...
Thanks for listening to the JoAnn rarely rants show... until next time.
Okay, you all know I read what ever I want. I don't care how bad the cover is. (omg that mustache) or the title (the overuse of theme tags). What I want is fun Aliens needs humans romance maybe with queer characters.
And this had those elements but it was so thin in every way. So, the search continues.
Male Pregnancy is a new Fascinating Concept. This was my 1st book on it. I love Sci-Fi (HOT Aliens *Wink*) The Blurb's enticing & Book was Free so I gave Tabatha Austin a chance, Who's a New to me author, I'm sure gonna Check out more in this series! ~The book's around 100 page with One PoV (James), has Insta Love too. I'd loved if the Romance Concept of the story was Written More in Depth, but Overall a Good Bedtime Read (With Hot Gay Sex!).
The Volardis Save James, A Gay Human Man, from his Suicide. He's Perfect for being the 1st Earthern to become a Volardi 'Omega' by their Technology & Get the ability to have babies.
Volardis have 3 Sexes (All are Basically Men): Alpha (The protectors), Beta (Professionals, Mostly Sterile), Omega (Baby Producers). Due to a Virus, Most of Volardis Omegas Were killed (Atleast due to this, They now knew their Importance!). Luckily, they found Earth where the Men maybe Compatible with Volardis.
James is a Sci-Fi Lover & Takes a Leap of faith, He was gonna die nevertheless, so why not even though M.Preg sounds far-fetched? He finds all the Volardis Cute but Melk (Alpha) Who's his Volardi Contact & His Partner-Trevah (Beta) are Especially HOT.
But An Evil Doctor is at Play, who doesn't Want Humans to Contaminate the Volardi DNA.. James wakes in Super Heat as a New Omega, which Quite works in Their Favor as Melk Mates & Impregnates him (Trevah was there too!). As days pass, The 3 Fall into a routine, Deeper in Love, Some Sexy times, living in the Spaceship close to Earth. Btw, the Volardi Pregnancy is Of 3 months!
The Evil Doc (& his minions!) create issues, putting James & the baby at risk. But J, by his Smartness, Is able to find Evidence against him *Yay!*, Putting him into prison.
Towards the end, The baby is safely born, Making them a Family of 4❤. And Now that This with James has Succeeded.. The Volardis are gonna Contact Earth for this 'Omega Program'. James, Melk, Trevah (& their baby!) Got their HEA, I'm so excited to see what's next in the series!
The Aliens and Their Omega is the first book in a new series by Tabatha Austin. I loved this play on the Alpha/Omega genre. I loved the chemistry between James and his two Alien mates, Melk and Trevah and I liked how the "mad scientist" got his just desserts in the end. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Well this started out promising, but about halfway through when the sex started, this degenerated into some teen flick of poor grammar, romance and sexual situations. Sad, because it began well I'd thought it would be one to recommend, now, I can only say don't bother.
Awesome. The plot was wonderful and very interesting. It's sexy and sweet. It's sad the MC has depression and attempted suicide, but it's awesome he is healing and felt needed as the first pregnant human man

DNF 25% Ew, this was so BORING. My first thought when I went to dnf this at 20% was "Hey, it'll get better, it has to." Nope. I checked past the 50% mark and read a few pages. It does not get better, it just got cringier. The only vibes I got from the main character were: - "ooh I'm less than 6 feet, I'm so smol and cute" - I'm not "gay handsome" - "ehe I have a big dick, I'm super proud of it" - "hehe these hot tall dudes with purple striped hair are looking at my attractive omega ass"
It is such a RELIEF to finally find a well-written erotic gay sci-if, let alone mpreg! And it was so nice that 1) the plot and conflict were actually solid, 2) the main character reacted in a logical manner for the situation, and 3) the cultural quirks and technology all made it feel very realistic. Great job, Tabatha!
My main constructive criticism would be that - while the plot was strong - nothing actually happened for the main character and the love interests to actually “fall in love.” Great sex does not equal love. Typically for the love interests to realize they are in love, there needs to be a defining moment outside of sex or “damsel in distress” trope - a catalyst - something needs to bring them together to connect on. I felt the main character never had that moment with either of the two leads. Sure, he “defeated” the bad guy, but that whole struggle and plot was separate from his lovers. Which meant, the two lover’s main defining characteristics was that one was a muscled alpha and one was a more sensitive beta (although the latter was not explicitly shown). Never learned much about them personally other than the Alpha was the security officer - there was no history for us to fall in love with. I wish there had been THE moment where the main character had a conversation that connected him to them on a personal level, something funny or embarrassing - just something.
If the author were ever to pop out a second edition having added an extra couple thousand words to expand on the connection of their relationship and WHY they love each other (other than the physical), it’d be really worth it. It’d grow her from a great writer, into an excellent one. This is the main reason I could only give 4 stars at this time.
Lastly, was if the author employed a solid editor/beta reader (as an English major, I’d happily volunteer!). I’m a sucker for proper grammar and punctuation and there were a tiny few clarity issues, but it did not take me out of the story.
Fun novella, solid plot, solid bad guy, solid setting, solid main character’s motives and reactions. Just a bit more character development into the love interests would have made me swoon a lot more. Overall very good and I’m excited to check out her other works.
The first in a series of books, this one doesn't make me keen to read more of them.
The premise is standard fare and the story proceeds in a predictable and formulaic fashion. It's not a bad book, just a rather dull one. There are however some problems with the story.
The main character is a gay man from Earth and despite the universal nature of human experience with regard to basic desires and fulfillment I never found a way to really connect him with myself or other gay men that I know. He wasn't relatable as a man in the main. He described himself as not being "gay handsome" and while I understand this was his point of view, the stereotyping here was pretty hardcore. Also, the alpha and beta males were very strictly defined by their bodies and cocks. Really, this is a book about aliens who have a wider and more "mature" understanding of the universe and the writer puts them in castes and roles strictly by the size of their cocks?
It's certain that writing a new kind of sex scene is nearly impossible but the very cliche' use of the word "slick" and descriptions self lubrication were banal and cookie cutter standard. Character development was minimal and there was no emotional kick with the end of the story. The book might be seen as a generic sort of PWP but really it wasn't up to the hotness necessary for that kind of reading.

This book could have been great. It had a lot of good elements. A lot of them. But it was choppy and rushed. I was very disappointed that the author didn't take it further.
The MC was ALMOST a full character. There were levels of thought and emotion that were understandable, real, and thought provoking but it was almost like the author stopped just shy of SOMETHING. Like an uber realistic doll, it looks like a person might even almost feel like a person but when you get just a little closer its painfully lacking.
The relationship between melk, trevah, and James was rushed and there was no effort to build it. They were "nice" for aliens (?) And they just happened to be there when he went into his first heat. They were attentive to his needs and treated him well all things considered but WHY does he love them? Why do they love him? I didnt see anything to suggest that what they had was love and not something else.
The sex scenes were ok. Just ok. So rushed and without passion. It almost seemed like the MC was zoned out during them thinking "oh it's amazing and life-changing and passionate" but without actually feeling any of those things.
Bottom line: this could have been an AMAZING book. But it wasnt. And I'm actually really sad about that.
This is my first book by this author. I read on Kindle Unlimited. James is unhappy b with his life prospects and fresh from finding his boyfriend in bed with another man. He is rescued and transported to a Volatile space ship and offered an opportunity to help an empire rebuild. The Volatility are very advanced technologically, although there are still differences in opinion of how their empire will rebuild. This is a quick read, not overly complicated, it had a few editing slips, but none that totally distracted from b the book. James was not asked to come aboard the spacecraft, but he is not forced into any course of action or choices. As you probably guessed this involves a male threesome, two of which are aliens, and a male pregnancy. There are sex scenes, but this book actually allows its characters to have thoughts and feelings about other aspects of their lives. I think the storyline needed a bit more, I will try the next one and see how the story progresses.
James has had enough and about to end it all and then low and behold two sexy aliens decide to change his plans.... Initially was going to give this only 3 stars as I felt it moved to far. For what he went through was a bit far fetched of a change no matter how stunning the men where. But I persevered and it got 4 stars in the end. The feelings that he goes through are well brought through, his strength as an omega grow and you guess that these two alphas really don't know what they got themselves into. He is not their usual omega and the love is strong however I would have liked more development around each character. Think over all too much cover in a short book. Now as for the alien King takes his omega well it's like baking a cake. The first try a bit hit and miss, the second a bakers delight.
A very interesting twist on the Alpha and Omega mpreg genre. Overall, the book was pretty good and I will read the next in the series. There are a couple of things that bothered me about the book. I felt that some of the transitions were a little abrupt. I would have liked to see a bit more about why James felt that he was in love with his aliens. Also I know it's a bit of a given that they were mated but the process of how was never brought up. We learned a lot of Volardi, their history with their Omega's and there was a mention of mates. What isn't defined is whether or not they are fated, I'm assuming yes since serendipity is mentioned a number of times. Also what defines their mating merely the act of having sex? Or something else? Hopefully, there will be more details in the next book in the series.
I went back and forth on if I should rate this 3 or 4 stars. I did enjoy the read but the romance part of the story DEFINITELY could have been flushed out more. James has decided to give up and jumps from some cliffs but is rescued from death by aliens. He decides to give into them and become an omega because the omegas of the aliens race was decimated by a different race of aliens called the "gloom". He goes into heat and has sex with the other main characters. From there is jumps into them being in a relationship. It doesn't really get built upon more than that. I will say though that the villain in the story was flushed out really well. I am going to get the next book in the series because I did like it but I think it could have been better if it was longer maybe?
I liked how the beginning of this book was a bit disjointed and confusing as it started after James had been picked up by the Voladri and propositioned. I thought that this helped me feel just like James must have been feeling at that point as he was being asked to make such a momentous decision.
I loved how James protected and fostered his ideals of what his contribution to Voladri society should and would be. And I found that the Emperor's justice was very just, in the whole "karma sucks" sense.
I decided to download this book initially because it was free. Having said that, I actually enjoyed it. Being a gay man, I could relate to the characters and the theme of it. I have never considered the possibility of becoming pregnant because...hmm, it isn't possible for me to become pregnant for obvious reasons. The author put forth some intriguing concepts, and they made me think about the possibilities, and the mechanics involved. The story line was engaging and kept me wanting to read more. Thank you!!
This book had some surprising twists and turns. James gets saved by some aliens while he's trying to commit suicide. Turns out that they don't technically have females, but a third male that is capable of being impregnated. Sadly most of them were wiped out by an engineered virus. So the aliens are hoping that James might be willing to undergo a few changes that would enable him to help save the Voldari race..... Oh! And there's an evil doctor who wants to use clones and make sure the new Omegas and babies.... Gotta read it!
What happens when an alien race loses all the breeders due to a virus spread by their enemy. They need to find men that they can breed with and it appears Earth men fit the bill. When jumping off a cliff he never realised how his world would change. Rescued by aliens and then offered the chance to be the Omega of a new race. I would heartily recommend this book to all readers who love great romantic alien stories. Though gay sci-fi may not be for all there is still romance and love.
This story takes James through an interesting emotional journey, starting on a day when he is feeling at his lowest, and unexpectedly Aliens not only give him hope, and offer a reason to live, but provide perspective, and show home ways in which he can truly help others.
The men in his new life provide a nice balance, and there is enough politics and intrigue to keep the story interesting and the pages turning.
This was a book I stumbled upon while browsing Amazon for a new book to read. Tabitha Austin is a author that I have never read before but I will say that I plan on reading the others books in this series after reading this one. It was a good read and I really enjoyed it. I won't give much away but was shocked yet satisfied with the ending for the books villain. Recommend this book to anyone who likes gay sci-fi with mpreg themes.
Loved this storyline! A suicidal Earthling, James is saved by Volardi, Melk and Trevah. They are his Alpha and Beta, making them a trio. He is to be their Omega and bear children, if possible, to save the Volardi. Add an evil scientist/doctor, Klar and this is a true sci-fi adventure. Only wish there had been some kind of commitment/ marriage ceremony making Melk, Trevah and James a permanent trio.
This was a different kind of story, Very sci fi, for sure. I found it a little difficult to fully become invested in yet the characters all added to the story making it interesting. The idea of male pregnancy and alien reproduction was fun. The ending was good, as justice was served and the “mad scientist” got his just desserts. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
Loved the book, but hated the fact that the data in the story was secondary when it came to having sex with James. He always wanted to be with Melk. They should have shared better even though Melk was the alpha. Other than that lived the storyline and especially the twist with the doctor. Awesome punishment.
This book was so interesting to me that I still have questions when I had finished reading it. I loved the Star Trek references that were in the book and I think mpreg books are cool. I would totally recommend this book to anyone who like mpreg or a Sy-Fy type book.
