About the author

Denis-Pierre Filippi est né le 19 juillet 1972 à Bergerac. Il accroche à son palmarès scolaire un Bac scientifique, et une maîtrise de philosophie. Son penchant pour la BD est un héritage paternel qu’il a entretenu dès son plus jeune âge en fréquentant assidûment les pages de Spirou, en découvrant Ptiluc et plus tard Bilal et Loisel. Il voue aussi une affection toute particulière à Schuiten, Gimenes et Tolkien. Toutefois, les premières œuvres de ce jeune scénariste bordelais sont des contes pour enfants destinés aux écoles sous la forme de montage diapos. En fait, si Denis-Pierre Filippi est conteur, il est aussi raconteur et acteur puisqu’il n’hésite pas à «tester» ses écrits sur le jeune public : jouer son texte devant les enfants pour guetter leur réaction. En tout cas, l’intérêt pour lui est de «retourner à l’origine obscure et ancestrale des contes». En 1995, lors du salon du livre de Bordeaux, il fait lire une de ses histoires à Tiburce Oger, l’auteur de la série Gorn. De leur collaboration naît en 1998 Orull, le faiseur de nuages. En 1999, Filippi imagine une nouvelle série : Un drôle d’ange gardien, dessiné par Sandrine Revel. Infatigable, alors que se profile le dernier tome d'Orull, le scénariste a créé un nouveau duo : en compagnie de Tatiana Domas, il peint les aventures de Téo, un enfant traumatisé qui sort peu à peu de son mutisme.

Denis-Pierre Filippin ja Silvio Cambonin "Mikki ja hukkunut meri" (Sanoma, 2018) ottaa reippaasti etäisyyttä perinteisiin Disney-tarinoihin. Luvassa on omaperäisiä visioita ja visuaalista ilotulitusta siinä mittakaavassa, että heikompaa saattaa hirvittää.

Sarjakuvassa on Ankkalinna jätetty kauas taakse. Suursota on päättynyt seitsemäntoista vuotta sitten ja se on laittanut maailman uuteen uskoon. Energiamuotona käytetään koralliiniksi kutsuttua mineralia, jota kerätään muun muassa meren pohjassa lojuvien sotakoneiden tankeista. Näissä puuhissa tapaamme ensimmäisen kerran Mikin, Minnin ja Hessun.

Valitettavasti sankariemme kiusana häärii edelleen Musta Pekka, joka kätyreineen etsii myös kallisarvoista koralliinia. Se on kuitenkin vasta alkua mielikuvitukselliselle scifiseikkailulle, jonka aikana vaivutetaan Mikki viisi vuotta kestävään uneen ja onnistutaan mullistamaan luonnonlait kertaheitolla...

Sarjakuvan käsikirjoitus on omaperäinen, mutta tarinaa olisi minun puolestani saanut hieman syventääkin. Nyt loppuhuipennus tulee vähän liian nopeasti. Sarjakuvantekijät ovat ottaneet välimatkaa päähenkilöiden perinteisiin rooleihin: esimerkiksi Hessu Hopossa ei ole ulkonäön lisäksi oikeastaan mitään, no, hessuhopomaista.

"Mikin ja hukkuneen meren" perimmäinen juju piilee italialaisen Silvio Cambonin piirroksissa, joihin on poimittu aineksia steampunk-kuvastosta. En muista lukeneeni toista Disney-sarjakuvaa, joka olisi visuaalisesti lähellekään yhtä upea. Sarjakuva kannattaakin ottaa haltuun jo sen vuoksi!

Przy tym komiksie nie będę się zachwycać jak przy dwóch poprzednich (Kraina Pradawnych i Horrifikland). Niestety tutaj mamy bardzo prostą historię, w której brakuje smaczków i humoru. Od początku wiadomo jakie będą kolejne wydarzenia i nic nas nie zaskakuje. Sam pomysł na tę historię oczywiście fajny, ale brakuje tego czegoś. Gdyby nie Goofy i kilka jego tekstów to byłoby kompletnie płasko.
Za co więc taka wysoka ocena? Oczywiście za grafikę. Ta jest chyba najlepsza z całej trójki (kreska z najnowszych tomów z serii to już zupełnie nie mój klimat). Kolory, kompozycje, a w szczególności postaci które są jakby w 3d zachwyciły mnie niesamowicie. Jak ktoś sięga po te komiksy z sentymentu i dla wrażeń wizualnych to warto! Fanom samych przygód Mikiego - odradzam.

En tiedä, kehtaanko myöntää, että Mikki oli pitkään suosikkihahmoni Aku Ankan taskukirjoissa. Ehkä kaikki dekkarimainen vain viehätti minua tavattomasti. En pitänyt Mikkiä edes kauhean ärsyttävänä viisastelijana, kuten olen myöhemmin oppinut ajattelemaan.

Pirkanmaan lukudiplomiin on eksynyt myös Mikki-sarjakuva nimeltään "Mikki ja hukkunut meri", jossa Mikki, Minni ja Hessu tekevät merellisiä tutkimuksia. Tiedemiehinä he ratkaisevat hurjaa ympäristökatastrofi, jossa meren paino katoaa.

Seurauksena on tavattoman kaunis kuvitus, joka saa lukijan haukkomaan henkeään. Palasin lapsuuden tunnelmiin ja fanitin Mikkiä taas ihan täysillä.

The art is breathtaking and the vibes are impeccable. The story though, is so interesting that it is immensely disappointing it was not stretched out to more than sixty pages!

O ile mnie pamięć nie myli, idea tej serii jest taka, że znani europejscy artyści tworzą własne historie o słynnej myszy. Patrząc na "Zaginiony ocean" i "Kawę: Zombo" widać, że tematyka i kontekst są dowolne, więc są szanse na sporą kreatywność autorów. W omawianym zeszycie wszystko jest nie tak oprócz imponujących, choć jak dla mnie momentami zbyt kiczowatych grafik. Rozumiem własną inwencję, ale moim zdaniem żaden z bohaterów nie przypomina choćby w zarysie siebie w klasycznej wersji. Z całym szacunkiem dla sympatycznego gryzonia - tytanem intelektu nie był nigdy, już nie wspominając o głupkowatym Goofym. No i ok, takich ich lubimy i to nam robiło dzieciństwo. Otóż w "Zaginionym oceanie" mówią oni językami naukowców, którzy mają predyspozycje, by ratować świat przed zagładą. To dla mnie kompletne nieporozumienie. Mogły to być zupełnie inne postacie i nic by się w fabule nie zmieniło. Może, gdyby upchać tu gdzieś Diodaka, miałoby to jakiś minimalne uzasadnienie, a tak? Dodatkowo brak tu choćby jednego momentu, w którym bym się pod nosem uśmiechnął, a przecież na humorze zbudowano pierwowzór. Owszem, widać, że w kilku sytuacjach autorzy się starają, ale to żarty na poziomi 6-latka, a ten komiks (z jego tematyką) do takich dzieciaków nie trafi. No i historia - mieszanka science fiction i postapo - sprawia wrażenie mocno skrótowej, dostosowanej do formatu pięćdziesięciu stron, mimo, że materiału wystarczyłoby spokojnie na dwa razy tyle. On se saakelin kaunista luettavaa.

Se, ettei tutut hahmot Mikin seikkailusta ollut ihan omia itsejään oli positiivista, kun mikki-sarjikset olivat aina inhokkejani. Maailma on kauniin yksityiskohtainen ja steampunk-henkinen, teknologia tieteisjuttua mutta jotenkin kuvituksesta tulee semmoinen vähän absurdi fantasiafiilis... Juoni oli, sanotaan näin, ihan tarpeeksi hyvä vaikkei ehkä minulle kaikista vetävin.

I picked this up because I heard about a Mickey Mouse steam punk adventure that starts with the line, "The great north Mediokan mountain range, 17 years after the great war..." So needless to say, I was wondering about this great war in the Mickey-a-verse. While you dont end up learning about the war, this is a world of scrappers and scientists, inventors and adventurers. The setting is great. Rich art fills every page, and the setting looks magical. The story is good, though it feels restrained, unable to reach true heights, having to appeal to a broader, possibly younger, audience, all while keeping the Mouse's image safe.
Again, the art is stunning, making the book's purchase worth it. I can't help think Filippi and Camboni were inspired by Discoverland at Euro-Disneyland. The magic of Jule Verne is in the bones of the comic. I want more of this beautiful world. - 3.2. The art is a 50 out of 5, phenomenal - fine art meets steam-boat willy. The story is fine, 2.5.

I picked this up because the art by Silvio Camboni looks bright and modern, yet harkens back to the traditional style of Floyd Gottfredson or Paul Murray. The art is indeed excellent, with a modern, 3D look. The story by Denis-Pierre Filippi is simple (to be fair, Gottfredson's and Murray's stories were also pretty simple), aimed at younger audiences. The timeline of the story jumps around in keeping with its brisk pace. There is a lot of technobabble and not much character development (Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy could be any generic steampunk protagonists). Nevertheless, I enjoyed the book for the most part, especially for the artwork.

Questo fumetto mi ha decisamente sorpreso!
Panini porta in Italia le graphic novel pubblicate da Glenat in Francia: storie Disney con però l’approccio tipico della BD franco-belga.

Mickey e l’Oceano Perduto è una storia in salsa steampunk, che vede Topolino, Minnie e Pippo nel ruolo di cercatori di relitti e tesori in un mondo post-apocalittico.
Dovranno vedersela con il nemico Pietro Gambadilegno, ma le cose sono destinate a prendere una piega inaspettata.

I disegni di Silvio Camboni sono uno spettacolo da mirare e rimirare, ogni tavola è una gioia per gli occhi.
Filippi regala invece una “voce” adulta ai tre protagonisti, lasciando il lettore affascinato da dialoghi maturi che aiutano ancor di più a immergersi nella storia.

La nota stonatissima riguarda l’edizione: scegliere la carta opaca e porosa è un peccato MORTALE per questo tipo di storie. Questa carta spegne i colori ed è davvero uno spreco stampare storie di questo calibro con questo tipo di carta.
Male, Panini, davvero male.

C'était vraiment chouette.
Tout ce que j'attendais de cette bande dessinée était présent. Un graphisme mi steampunk - mi biologie marine impressionnant avec de magnifiques couleurs, une petite histoire pleine de rebondissements et d'action, et des personnages fidèles à eux-mêmes. Je redécouvre les Mickey, Minnie et Dingo de mes souvenirs d'enfant. Je recommande grandement cette lecture au public à laquelle elle s'adresse, c'est-à-dire aux nostalgiques, aux grands enfants comme moi et aux plus jeunes.

Selon moi, ce type de graphique mérite une adaptation animée. En plus, l'histoire s'y prêterait vraiment bien.

Je pense poursuivre la collection de ces ouvrages en me les procurant au compte-gouttes.

Tym razem schodzimy pod morskie fale, a naszych bohaterów umieszczamy w batyskafach, łodziach jakby prosto ze świata Kapitana Nemo, czy w końcu podwodnych i latających dronach. To kolejne przygody Mikiego, Minnie i Goofy'ego ryzykujących swe życie dla...paliwa. Graficznie śliczna szczególnie druga połowa tomu, chociaż przyznam, że mi szczerze bardziej podobały się rysunki z poprzedniego tomu. A jak scenariusz? Tym razem chyba odrobinę lepszy, chociaż przez to, że całość trzeba było upchnąć na niewielu stronach wciąż za mało pogłębiony.

Uusien/uudenlaisten Mikki-seikkailujen albumisarja jatkuu. Silmiähivelevän upea albumi on tällä kertaa scifi-steampunk-dystopia-tunnelmissa. Juoni jää ehkä vähän köykäiseksi, mutta vaikuttavaa työtä tämä silti on. Ja edelleen: yksi tähti tulee ihan siitä, että Disney antaa tehdä tällaisia albumeita.

Lovely and detailed steampunk art! But I can't say I really I enjoyed the story much.

I was surprised in this to see Goofy acting just as smart as the other characters. Is that normal for his character now? I haven't followed any Mickey stories in years.

Vau, kuvitus on UPEA! Tarina on tiivis, mutta toimiva. Estetiikassa on steampunkia, mutta tarinallisesti enemmän tieteisjuttu. Ja erityistä plussaa siitä, etteivät Mikki, Minni ja Hessu ole perus-Mikki-sarjakuvan hahmotropeidensa mukaisia! Mikki ei (näsä)viisastele, Minni ei kiukuttele ja on taitava matemaatikko eikä Hessu ole tyhmä koheltaja, vaan osaava mekaanikko sekä tee-entusiasti! Hienosti oli monta teehetkeä onnistuttu livauttamaan lyhyeen tarinaan. Niin ja loppupuolella sitä teetä juotiin muuten Star Wars-mukeista!

Ihan yllätyin miten paljon tästä tykkäsin, koska en suuremmin välitä Mikistä, mutta kun näin Aku-fanienkin tätä kehuvan, niin päätin tsekata. Kannatti!

After reading Donald's Vacation Parade I had high hopes for these new Disney comics to capture the feel of animated shorts. The artwork is beautiful and the 'story' is a series of exposition drops laden with sci-fi gobbledygook which left me completely uninterested. Characterization wasn't there at all and the fact they were Disney characters was purely visual other than superficial detail given to Goofy's distinctive talking style. I don't think I'm the intended audience and would rather provide no ratings than a low one for that reason but I'm pretty sure it's required to put out a review. I imagine people whose expectations are different from mine will have a better time.

Sellaiset kolme ja puoli tähteä. Hyvin erilainen tarina kuin Mikeissä yleensä. Hyvin erilainen tyyli kuin Mikeissä yleensä. Olen edelleen tyrmistynyt miten umpikonservatiivinen Disney on antanut näin paljon vapauksia uusille tulkistijoille. Kunpa tämä olisi nähty viisikymmentä vuotta sitten!

This was BEAUTIFUL to look at. The story itself was fun, though the ending was a bit rushed. I wouldn’t necessarily hand this to an early reader, as it is remarkably heavy on the steampunk lingo. I did feel that the ending was just a bit rushed and I would’ve liked a bit more, but it was definitely worth the read. It is also worth keeping just to look at it!
