About the author

Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle was a Scottish writer and physician. He created the character Sherlock Holmes in 1887 for A Study in Scarlet, the first of four novels and fifty-six short stories about Holmes and Dr. Watson. The Sherlock Holmes stories are milestones in the field of crime fiction.

Doyle was a prolific writer. In addition to the Holmes stories, his works include fantasy and science fiction stories about Professor Challenger, and humorous stories about the Napoleonic soldier Brigadier Gerard, as well as plays, romances, poetry, non-fiction, and historical novels. One of Doyle's early short stories, "J. Habakuk Jephson's Statement" (1884), helped to popularise the mystery of the brigantine Mary Celeste, found drifting at sea with no crew member aboard.

இந்த நூலில் Scandal of Bohemia, Red headed league மற்றும் A case of Identity ஆகிய சிறுகதைகள் இடம்பெற்றுள்ளன. முதலிரு கதைகளும் பிரபலமானவை, சுவாரஸ்யமானவை. மூன்றாவது கதையான A case of identity சுவாரஸ்யமாக இருந்தாலும் குற்றவாளியை இலகுவாக கண்டறியக்கூடியதாக இருந்தது. தமிழ் மொழிபெயர்ப்பு இயல்பானதாகவும் நேர்த்தியானதாவும் இருந்தது.

இது வரை ஆர்தர் கானன் டாயில் படித்ததில்லை. ஆங்கிலத்தில் படிப்பது கொஞ்சம் கடினமாக இருந்ததால் தமிழில் படித்தேன். கதை முடிவை ஓரளவு ஊகிக்க முடிந்தது. நாவல் நன்றாக இருக்கிறது.

கதையின் நாயகன் கதையின் காலத்திற்கே நம்மை அழைத்துச் செல்கிறார் ஆசிரியர்..
வாழ்த்துக்கள்......துப்பறியும் கதைகள் அன்றும் இன்றும் என்றும் ஜெயிக்கும்....இது போன்ற நிறைய துப்பறியும் புதினங்கள் தமிழில் வர வேண்டும்...

Good One

It has 3 stories about the intelligence of Sherlock and all are good but last one is easily predictable. Other 2s are not predictable.
