#IsHeHereYet: Being the Person You Want to Be With is an extremely raw (and funny) look at the perceived epidemic of being single in our quest for love. It dismantles the notion that there is something that we need to do in order to bring in "The One." Instead, it challenges you to be "The One" and see what shows up then. Regardless of the outcome, the end result will be the best version of you possible.
This book is geared toward single and partnered people alike. Through personal and professional accounts of real life situations, as well as thought expanding exercises and meditation tools, the reader will leave with a greater understanding and concept of themselves. They will be able to "date themselves" and create the space to naturally attract loving and authentic relationships.

So many amazing insights for the gay and straight population. While some of his personal experience appear to be dated for a younger generation, the emotions are the same for everyone. The pressure of being in a relationship is not limited to sexual orientation and this man's journey to greater self-acceptance is nothing but inspiring. His rawness and authenticity is palpable. Thank you Dr. Ortega.
Enlightening, thought-provoking, challenging...everything I'd hope for from a self-help book by a leading clinical psychologist about how to be truly OK with being who you are...right here, right now.
Thank you to the Literally Pr and the author for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review. After receiving a copy for Christmas of one of his author books I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a copy of this! The emotions really hit home with me and your journey to self acceptance is a inspiration to everyone! I was drawn in from the get go and it has really made me think. Thank you for giving me so much more insight into…. well everything Dr Ortega!
My timing on reading this book couldn't have been more ironic, sad, poignant....pick an adjective. My best friend went through a horrible breakup while I was reading this - one that was unexpected to him, caught him by surprise and devastated his heart. I went into this book - as a straight, happily married woman - expecting to read it as an outsider. I finished it feeling enlightened, hopeful and filled with knowledge that will not only help my friend but can also help me in my own life. Despite my happy marriage, I've suffered from low self-esteem my entire life. There are things that I can utilize from this book that can help me to learn how to love myself more. This is not a book for gay or straight men or women. This is a book for everyone.
BOOK BLURB. #IsHeHereYet: Being the Person You Want to Be With is an extremely raw (and funny) look at the perceived epidemic of being single in our quest for love. They will be able to “date themselves” and create the space to naturally attract loving and authentic relationships. MY REVIEW. This book truly speaks from the heart. Dr Tony Ortega gives a lot of himself in this book confessing his mistakes, lessons learned,, heartbreak and how he’s become a stronger person having experienced these challenges. Many of us will relate to what’s written in this book; regardless of gender or sexual orientation. We all experience heartbreak at some point in life and reading his book, #IsHeHereYet will give comfort and sound advice. Every chapter is rich with advice from Tony’s experiences revealing much of the pain he felt during that time. These are accompanied by introductory quotes from people such as Jennifer Aniston, Adele and Kristin Davis. Every chapter finishes with a few Makeover Questions allowing the reader to grab their journal and ponder what was read and learned through the chapter and how that helps in their life. These questions are then followed by a series of affirmations to try during meditation – whichever way the reader prefers to do this – either accompanied with essential oils, calming music and scented candles or a few stolen quiet moments before starting the day. Points made and worth pointing out are highlighted as ‘Miracle Moments’. These are points to which the reader is encouraged to pay special attention. I enjoyed reading #IsHeHereYet. Being the Person You Want To Be With. It’s full of good advice and positive steps forward. Thank you, Dr Tony Ortega, for sharing your experiences with us and being so honest, open and helpful. This book is a must for anyone who’s feeling lost, hurt and in need of something to help get their life back on track. #IsHeHereYet: Being the Person You Want to Be With
This book is for everyone! Whether you are single, married, straight, gay or in an on off relationship you are guaranteed to find some form of guidance here which will help you to work towards and become the best version of yourself.
There is plenty of humor here along with practical advice and exercises. This is a book all about learning how to love yourself, how to be in love with the person that you are and how to be proud to be you.
I enjoyed reading about the author's personal experiences, along with the experiences of people that he had met and done case studies on. I got quite a lot from these parts of the book. It's always helpful knowing there are others out there that have felt or done the same things as you have in certain situations.
Another thing I really liked about this book is how it is hugely interactive, at the end of each chapter there are exercises to do and you are advised to use your journal to write down your thoughts and experiences. There are questions to answer and also affirmations to use in your meditation practice or general quiet moments.
Such a helpful book which I am pleased to have as my companion!
If I had to define this book in a single word I would call it "enchanting", Tony's capable of guiding you from his own experience to a journey back to self-love, since ultimately it is self-love that should be our first love.
Conceived as a book meant to help gay men facing issues staying in relationships, anyone can take this journey of self-love no matter their gender, sexual orientation or relationship status. I doubtlessly recommend this as a must-read to cultivate self-growth.
This is a refreshing take on the dating trials we all go through. Our search for the "One" can totally encapsulate our whole mind, but we never seem to find what we are looking for. Making ourselves into the "One" allows us much needed insight into ourselves and whom God created us to be. Once we do this we may realize that the one we were looking for becomes much easier.
Advice & guidance on how to love you, yourself & be the person you truly want to be in every way. Live & love who you are & want to be. #beingthepersonyouwanttobewith Relationships, self love;acceptance; breakups; it’s all in here bringing greater love for yourself.
Many thanks to team LiterallyPR for my copy in exchange for an honest review
#IsHeHereYet Being the Person You Want To Be With by Tony Ortega is a self-help book to support your journey to being the person you would want to date. It’s not just for single gay men - as Tony was when he wrote this book - if you notice, the title says ‘person’, which means that this book is for anyone - single or in a relationship - it’s for anyone who wants to be a better person.
#IsHeHereYet can be described as an experiential journey written by a gay man but enjoyed by anyone. I am enjoying my journey through this book immensely.
The writing is typical for Tony’s style. It is emotional, informative and humorous. It is raw. Tony opens his heart and shares it with the reader, intimately.
Along with Tony’s personal anecdotes are ‘Miracle Moments’ which are things to consider in relation to the topic, event and learning. At the end of each chapter are ‘Makeover Moments’. These are exercises to work through in relation to each section of the book. These Makeover Moments make this book personal. I have been finding the exercises thought provoking and eye opening.
As a single woman who is apprehensive about dating, I have found this book enlightening. Tony’s experiences, reflections and humour are enjoyable and encouraging and make this reader more aware of how I can be a better person.
Thanks go to @literallypr and @drtonyortega for the copy of this book to read, enjoy and review.
