Louis was the man of Cara's dreams. She thought she was his dream, too. But when she receives the best news of her life, he reacts by walking away. Now he's back and asking for another chance. The last time she fell, he wasn't there to catch her. Louis let Cara go once. Now, he's determined to win her back and to show her he's here to stay. But Cara's going to need to believe that, this time, the leap will be worth the fall.
A great novella that managed to give us a sweet romance between two great secondary characters Cara and Louis. Cara is Addie's best friend and Louis is a friend of Simon. We met both characters in Rise. In this short book we get a meeting of new lovers, conflict and separation and eventual reunion with a swoon worthy hero. Oh yeah and there are also sexy times! All of that in this short story. Enjoy this visual of Louis while you read 😉
Here is my recommended reading order for the Symbols of Love series:
This may not be very long, but it's well written. Cara and Louis really intrigued me. I loved this look into their relationship. Of course I would love to read more, from their intial date to after but, I will take what I can get!
I loved Cara and Louis in Dylan's debut novel Rise, and when I heard about Leap I was pretty excited to read a bit more about them. Dylan did a great job in giving us as much as she could in this short story, it even left me wanting more. A full length novel would be pretty awesome, because both characters are very intriguing. I wanted to hit Louis for the way he acted in the beginning but he redeemed himself. I am jealous of Cara for having such an awesome boyfriend. I love Dylan's writing style a lot and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because of it being a short story. I RARELY give short stories or novellas more than 4 stars.
Loved this sweet novella! It features Louis and Cara, who we met previously in Rise and Remember. There is just the right amount of drama and swoons and it was the perfect quick read. Leap is also a nice little introduction to Louis' family, who readers will really get to know in the next book in the Symbols of Love series, Release.
Leap gives us a small little look into Cara and Louis’s relationship that started out in Rise. I loved this couple in Rise and just fell harder in Leap. This might be a small short story but it packs one heck of a punch… just like all of Dylan Allen’s writing that I’ve read thus for.
Leap is truly a look into everyday people and the fear we face as we fall in love while following our dreams. Cara has dreams and is thrilled when she gets her BIG shot at living them. She can’t wait to tell Louis. Louis shows us the fears and insecurities we as people face. He handles everything pretty badly. But man, once he realized his mistake, he goes to great distances to right them.
This was an extremely romantic short story. Dylan Allen is already a master at her craft. She can pull you in so quickly and give you all the feels! I love catching up with other characters and am really hoping we get some more on Harry. It was just a glimpse but I can see good things coming from that one!! It was so refreshing to see a couple already together, albeit a bit rocky, go through a big challenge. I think Allen succeeded in making all of it believable and seriously enjoyable!!
Too many times she had trusted and been let down. When she gets the offer of her career and is ready to take a leap she may be let down again. He didn't expect to loose his heart to the dancer that made his world soar and now that she's ready to break his heart he's wondering if he should take the leap. A quick read from this author but no less emotional. Letting your heart be your guide is easy when it's easy but what happens when your heart makes you take a leap that life may not be ready for. Love this author and this novella.
This may be a short, but it has everything you would want and need in a romance.
I could have read this novella in about two hours or less, but I didn't want to, instead I savored every chapter because when Author Allen put words to paper, they become magical.
As a reader, I suggest you take a chance on the other stories in the Symbol of Love series: Rise and Remember because they are all 5+ star reads!
Leap is a sweet novella that follows Cara and Louis. Cara, if you've read Rise, you'll know who they are. Cara is Addie's best friend and Louis is Simon's. Cara has the chance of a lifetime to go follow her dreams but she never thought she'd have to choose between her dreams and a guy she's fallen for. Can Louis put behind his pride and show Cara that they really can have it all? I loved seeing these characters again.
It was nice to get more from Cara and Louise, given that so much of their story was intertwined with Addie & Simon's in the book 'Then There Was You'. With Addie & Cara being long school aged best friends and Simon & Louise being best friends too, all of their romances were sweet to watch flourish.
Louise was rash in his reaction, yet he made up for it and thankfully for him Cara loved him enough to give him a 2nd chance.
This was a charming novella and a wonderful introduction into Dylan’s books. This was a second chance sweet novella about dancer Cara who has been given a wonderful opportunity and her swoony but at times stupid boyfriend Louis. They have a great chemistry and they are perfect for each other. This book was well written and I was hooked from the first page. Dylan was a new author to me and I am excited to read more of her books.
A really short, short story which gives us a further look into Louis and Cara. Both outspoken individuals who hide their hesitancy in self confidence with the opposite sex. They both have their dreams. Cara is waiting anxiously for her call about her future dancing. She finally gets her call and excitedly wants to tell Louis. But his response is not what she thought. So see what happens next!
This review is for Leap by Dylan Allen I loved this story about Cara and Louis! After reading Rise by Dylan Allen I wanted to know more about Cara's story. I don't want to give any of the story away, so I'll just say that I loved it! Cara and Louis go through a lot and come out on top! They have the perfect love story! Thank you Dylan Allen
Leap by Dylan Allen is a short, sweet novella. This is Louis and Cara's story and you will be instantly hooked from the start. Although short, you get quite a bit in this tale including some drama, romance, some steamy scenes and a HEA ending. I enjoyed this quick read.
This was short and sweet. The details add to the rest of the novels and strengthen ideas shared already. Cara and Louis 's story sounds like it would be just as good as the rest of the Symbol of Love novels.
A SHORT GOOD READ THAT GIVES YOU AN INSIGHT INTO THE AUTHORS STYLE OF WRITING. THE STORY FLOWS WELL AND EASY TO FOLLOW. CARA GETS THE JOB OF HER DREAMS AND GETS UNEXPECTED REACTIONS FROM SOMEONE SHE LOVES. A FAST PACED READ.
This was included in an anthology that I was reading. It was a fast story that picks up at the drama in an existing relationship. We get the kids and make up part. It was enjoyable.
I've always liked Louis and Cara. Why is it that hurt is always inflicted when trying to protect one's heart. So glad this couple worked out their issue
Quick and sweet mini stories of these two characters from the series. It's barely a novella, not even reaching 100 pages, but gives a nice buffer for 30 minutes of your life.
I liked the overall story but I just didn’t feel attached to the characters or their emotions. I do like the author’s writing style and will definitely try another one of their books!
Super fast read! It was cute and a good pick me up. Shorter than I expected, but had some good grovel for a minute. Kind of tempted to read the other books so see if they are good so maybe another time.
