Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year.
Jayne Frost is a lot of things. Winter elf, Jack Frost's daughter, Santa Claus's niece, heir to the Winter Throne and now...private investigator. Sort of.
Christmas is over, the new year has begun, and life is thankfully slowing down for Jayne, giving her more time to chill with her new guy. That is, until Myra Grimshaw’s death reveals the elderly fae had a strange obsession with Jayne’s royal family and an unauthorized collection of exclusive winter elf objects. Including one very questionable snow globe.
Then a whiteout of magical proportions snows the town in and unraveling the mystery of Myra and the objects becomes job number one. Especially when Jayne suspects one of those objects is behind the dangerous creatures now roaming the town’s streets.
Things take a chilling turn when one of Jayne’s dearest friends is kidnapped and rescuing her means cracking the secrets of Myra’s past. But when Jayne discovers blood really is thicker than water, her own life is suddenly on thin ice. Can she save the town and her crown?

MISS FROST BRAVES THE BLIZZARD is a cozy paranormal mystery, the fifth in Jayne Frost’s adventures in Nocturne Falls, and one of my favorites in the series to date. A portal is opened between Nocturne Falls and the North Pole, unleashing eternal winter and all sorts of winter monsters and havoc on our favorite supernatural town. Super cute. Reindeer. Santa Claus meeting your boyfriend. A good mystery. I liked this one.
Yeti’s are actually small blue creatures who inhabit the deep forests of the north pole. Or, at least, they did until a portal is accidentally opened between Nocturne Falls and the North Pole and hundreds of Yeti storm through. Stuff of extreme strangeness unfolds.
Many of the characters of the mainline Nocturne Falls series show up in this book, as does a good many of the Frost series characters. Missing, though mentioned, are Jayne’s former love triangle partners – Greyson the vampire and Cooper the summer elf. Present and actively being solo-boyfriend, is . . . um . . what the heck is donut boy’s name again? Crap, I forget. Well, he’s there looking all manly and stuff. He and Jayne get along as well as Spider (Jayne’s cat) and Sugar (donut dude’s cat) do.
Solid enough book, I suppose. But just . . . good enough.
My brain has turned into jello and bounced out my ear, so…
The books in this series are a treat I enjoy savoring. The author quickly drew me in and kept me reading until the last page was turned. The story has plenty of plenty of twists that kept me guessing. I enjoy these characters and watching them grow and evolve. I look forward to reading more.
I received a copy of this book from the author, my review has been voluntarily submitted.
I have quite enjoyed this series so far, its easy, the dialogue is so-so, but its charming, and magical and its a cozy mystery, so you aren't expecting CSI, just some sleuthing and not too much blood and gore. Well all that happened again in this book, but for some reason, Jayne annoyed me alot. Maybe its her and the new boyfriend - insta-love Sinclair? The way she seems to have dumped her other two suitors without a backwards glance? I don't know, but it didn't have the same vibe for me as previous books. I will read the next installment of course, and cross my fingers it feels better.
Book 5 of this paranormal cozy mystery series in the town of Nocturne Falls. While this is the best of the series to-date, I would recommend reading at least a couple of the prior books to get the full benefit of this wonderful plot line.
Outright fun and entertaining. A portal is accidentally opened between Nocturne Falls and the North Pole and some of the things entering? Not so nice. It’s up to Princess Jayne and her friends and family to put everything back where it belongs.
“Santa Claus is coming to town.” Yep, that line for the book slayed me?
An except about the Princess’s character: “I headed for the fridge. “I need something stronger than coffee this morning.” I pulled out a bottle of Dr Pepper, unscrewed the top and downed about half of it. Which was going to result in a very un-princessy burp, but certain things couldn’t be helped. Maybe I could hold it until I was in the shower.” Excerpt From Miss Frost Braves The Blizzard By KristenPainter
An insider memory - have you read the novella “When Birdie Babysat Spider”? - the below tickled me. Excerpt: “Both cats seemed especially interested in Jack. Perhaps it was the shifter side of his familiar kind. He could transform himself into a raven, after all. In fact, I could have sworn Spider licked him” Excerpt From Miss Frost Braves The Blizzard by KristenPainter This material may be protected by copyright.
Miss Frost Braves the Blizzard is book 5 in the Jayne Frost series. After Jayne suddenly parted ways with her 2 main boyfriends in the last book to make way for the new storyline with Sinclair, I wasn't sure how I was going to like this book and the new direction. I really liked it though and although slightly contrived due to Jayne's relationships in the past books suddenly ending, I like Sinclair and Jayne together.
I really liked that we got to see more of Jayne's dad, Jack Frost, and her uncle Kris, aka Santa, in this book and they actually came to Nocturne Falls to help Jayne and the town with the latest crisis.
This series has been a lot of fun so far and I highly recommend it. I'm looking forward to continuing this series and moving on to book 6.
The narration is good. It is the same narrator as the prior books in the series so all of the character voices are consistent.
This wasn't really a whodunit mystery like the previous books. It was more a how-do-we-fix-this mystery. It was still entertaining and a very cute book, though the slowness of the relationship was a little excruciating - and the development at the end seemed to come out of nowhere, with no buildup or chemistry in this book (there was chemistry in the previous books, but no progress in the relationship at all for 95% of this book). But the romance really isn't the major part of this series, so I didn't lower the rating because of it. Looking forward to the next book!
Ms Painter really just dumped two slow-burn love interests like that in the end of the last book and did a full 180 to insta-love with Sinclair. I didn't really mind the change but having him propose already just felt too fast. Like give a girl (Jayne and the reader) time to breathe.
In my opinion the book should have ended with ILYs and an engagement in the end of the next book.

3.5 stars — another quick listen, decent story, but pretty disappointed in the author’s choices regarding Jayne’s love life. That’s all I’ll say about that without including a spoiler warning lol
I’ll still continue with the rest of the series— I still enjoy Nocturne Falls, but knowing where it’s now going leaves me way less enthused about the remaining two books. Bummer.
Series: Jayne Frost #5 Rating: 4 stars - It was really good
When Jayne gets a call to visit a recently deceased fae’s house, she finds an obsessive collection about Jayne’s royal family, including unauthorized objects from the NP. When an unnatural winter storm hits Nocturne Falls, Jayne must work with the town to stop the dangerous creatures behind it.
This book was so much fun! It presents a small taste of one of the North Pole’s worse creatures, the Yeti. This adventure also gives us more Santa Clause, Jack Frost, and reindeer which was wonderful and I can’t get enough of it.
My favorite part of this story was watching Jayne and Sinclair work together to fix the problem. I really love Sinclair. He gets better with every book it seems. He is one of my favorite heroes, especially since he is so supportive of Jayne.
I can’t wait to reread the next book because it is set in the North Pole. I have been dying to see what the NP is like and how they will react to Sinclair.
I really enjoy this series. It's a great mix of paranormal world-building, interesting and likable characters and just enough drama to keep things interesting while also being a fun and easy read.
Jayne Frost is really a terrific main character. She carries the story in each book well and is a genuinely likable character. She's spunky and kind but determined and clever. I like her a lot.
It has been fun watching Jayne's life and the world of Nocturne Falls develop from book-to-book. This is book 5 and I am still enjoying the series. I look forward to reading the final two books in the series.
I enjoyed it.... but it took me a long time to complete because I kept dumping it for something else, and for whatever reason didn’t captivate me as the others have. I do love Sinclair, though!
DELIGHTFULLY ENTERTAINING !!! Title: Miss Frost Braves The Blizzard Series: Jayne Frost (A Nocturne Falls Mystery) Author: Kristen Painter Designation: Book 5 of Series, Cozy Paranormal Mystery, Standalone Novel, NO Cliffhanger My Rating: FIVE DELIGHTFULLY ENTERTAINING STARS***** I fell head over heels for Kristin Painter's work several years ago after reading The Vampire's Mail Order Bride, the first book of her Nocturne Falls Paranormal Romance Series and have since devoured every single book of the series. My preferences in literature are quite eclectic, encompassing almost every genre but cozy mysteries, especially when they include a little romance, have been one of my favorite subgenres for more years than I care to admit. So naturally, when I heard Painter was introducing a spinoff series which would be more supernatural cozy mystery, I could hardly wait to get it in my hot little hands and Painter did not disappoint. Don't get me wrong, there is a light sprinkling of romance in each story, but unlike the Nocturne Falls Series featuring a different Nocturne Falls couple finding romance in each book, the Jayne Frost Series features primarily mystery and well...Jayne Frost, winter elf extraordinaire who just happens to be the daughter of Jack Frost and the niece of Santa Claus, making her the Winter Princess and heir to the Winter Throne. She's also the newest resident of Nocturne Falls now that she's accepted the permanent position as manager of Santa's Workshop Toy Store in Nocturne Falls, Georgia. Oh, and I forgot to mention that she's also an amateur sleuth...an investigator of sorts - kinda. After reading the first release, Miss Frost Solves A Cold Case, I was immediately hooked and have read every single book in the series and loved them all. They totally blew me away! (Get it? Blew me away as in winter storm? I know...a terrible pun.) But let's talk about this story! Miss Frost Braves The Blizzard is a well-crafted, fast-paced, easy-to-follow whodunit with paranormal/fantasy elements which can be read as a standalone. But why would you want to when they're all so great?!? They're like potato chips; once you try one, you can't stop until you've devoured them all! lol... It's also cute, exciting, original, imaginative, and extremely clever with a completely unique twist on cozy mysteries and filled to the brim with a plethora of supernatural beings, snappy banter, delicious humor, a little sweet romance and of course, mystery and suspense. The narrative is beautifully written with a first-person perspective from none other than Jayne Frost, Winter Princess, and daughter of the Winter King, Jack Frost. The dialogue is smart, snappy, humorous, and flows effortlessly. Painter is an exceptionally gifted storyteller who excels at creating imaginative, vividly detailed worlds, then populating them with an endearing cast of captivating characters that literally explode from the pages of her books. They take on a life of their own, capturing your imagination as well as your heart. Which brings me to another thing I truly enjoy about Painter's books. Her characters cross over between the Nocturne Falls and Jayne Frost series. If you have a favorite character, or characters, from her Nocturne Falls series, you're more than likely to also find them in the Jayne Frost series. Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! Would I recommend it? You bet and I am, for all ages and anyone who loves a sweet little cozy mystery with a smidge of light romance! Will I read this author again? Absolutely! Just as soon as she releases her next book! Was I entertained? Completely! Sounds like a five star read to me!
Premise: For all you folks who haven't heard of Nocturne Falls, it's a fictional town in Georgia which celebrates Halloween 365 days a year and they celebrate it big time since it's the town's main source of income. Yup, tourists flock to Nocturne Falls where the streets are populated every single day with all manner of supernatural creatures dressed as gargoyles, vampires, witches, elves, genies, werewolves, valkyries, and anything else your mind can imagine. Except they aren't just dressed as these creatures.....they actually are these creatures, and they're hiding in plain sight of the entire world. Oh my! And they not only live in Nocturne Falls, they make their living by owning businesses which cater to the human tourists. But how could you not love it with haunts (sorry, another bad pun) like the I Scream Shop(ice cream shop), Hallowed Bean(coffee shop), Howlers Bar & Grill, The Poison Apple(pub), Illusions(jewelry store), Insomnia(nightclub), Ever After(bridal shop), Big Daddy Bones(barbecue & ribs joint), Mummy's Diner, The Gingerbread Inn, Delaney's Delectables, The Black Rose D & B (*snicker* a Dead and Breakfast rather than a Bed and Breakfast *giggle*), a newspaper called The Tombstone, Zombie's Donuts, and Santa's Workshop. Santa's Workshop??? How did that one get into the Halloween themed Nocturne Falls? Well, every town needs a toy store, right? And this store is only one of many located around the world owned by none other than the fat man in the red suit. That's right! The chain of toy stores is owned by Kris Kringle, aka Santa Claus, and is overseen by Santa's right-hand man, the Winter King Jack Frost, who just happens to also be his brother-in-law. Yup, family business and all that. I would love to live in Nocturne Falls!
After the Christmas rush at Santa's Workshop and a short visit with her family at the North Pole, winter elf Jayne Frost is more than ready for life to slow down, especially after the fiasco with her old frenemy Lark Bramble at the Black and Orange Halloween Ball. Thankfully, Lark's crime was exposed, Juniper was exonerated, and Jayne saved the day again by recovering the stolen jewels. It's been a rough few months, considering she was dumped again, sorta, by both Greyson and Cooper. But never fear, there's another new hot hunk in Jayne's life! It may be a chilly January in Nocturne Falls but Jayne's love life certainly seems to be heating up with Sinclair 'Sin' Crowe, handsome necromancer and owner of Zombie Donuts. Yup, it looks like a match made in heaven for Jayne and Sin, and their cats Spider and Sugar! Unfortunately for Jayne, Nocturne Falls is about to get a whole lot colder, as in North Pole cold, which suspiciously coincides with the death of elderly fae resident, Myra Grimshaw. Sheriff Merrow contacts Jayne when a stash of newspaper clippings about her Royal family are discovered in Myra's basement along with several items no one outside Winter Royalty should possess. But why would the elderly fae have these things and how did she get them? Never fear, Jayne's on the case, but if she wants to save Nocturne Falls, she'll have to solve this mystery and quick. This time it will take all the supernaturals from Nocturne Falls as well as reinforcements from the North Pole working together to save the day. But will it be in time to save the lives of Jayne's friends? We'll see!
Fifth in the Jayne Frost magical realism mystery series with an amateur sleuth (and a spin-off from the Nocturne Falls Universe, 8.3) revolving around a winter elf who happens to be the heir to the Winter Throne. The story is set in January in Nocturne Falls, Georgia.
My Take It's a cute re-intro to Jayne and the characters along with a mystery that we experience through first person protagonist point-of-view from Jayne's perspective. So we only know what Jayne experiences, thinks, or feels.
Oh, no. We find out the price Sinclair pays when he resurrects a soul. Nasty. Then there's the reasoning for the yetis kidnapping a friend of Jayne's . . . a total disaster between that gift from Jayne and a curious deputy.
I do adore Spider. His conversation is so dang cute!
Eek! The North Pole sounds fantastic . . . until Jayne starts listing all the nasties that also live there. I gotta say, that banishment order that punishes everyone is unfair! Oh, we find out how Rudolph got his nose so bright!
Painter does manage to slip a lot in here. From Myra's secrets, those past histories, the yetis and their architectural wonder and customs — yuck!, the plans they come up with to rescue their friends, the coziness of the overall story, and so much more.
It's a town-wide disaster with everyone jumping in to help, so grab a cup of hot chocolate and some donuts.
The Story A fae with an NP snow globe? Oh, no. She can't be a fae . . . And what's with this blizzard of the century!?
It takes some work to piece it together . . . and then the monsters kidnap a friend!
The Characters Jayne Frost is the manager for Santa's Workshop in Nocturne Falls. She's also a royal princess as the daughter of the Winter King, Jack Frost; Santa's niece, and a winter elf. Spider is her talking cat (Miss Frost Ices the Imp, 2). Aunt Martha is Kris' wife. Jayne's employees include Holly, Rowley (a retired NP tinker) and Dorothea (a retired NP baker) Gladstone, Kip, Juniper, and the goth Buttercup Evergreen who offers herself up. Pete, the fae pharmacist, is Juniper's boyfriend.
Sinclair Crowe, a necromancer, plays to his gift with his business, Zombie Donuts, who's dating Jayne. Sugar is his sweet white cat. Archie Tingle is a baker from the North Pole kitchens sent to help Sin after he was injured in Miss Frost Cracks a Caper, 4. Johnny is one of his employees.
Cooper Sullivan, a summer elf with whom Jayne reunited is still at his parents and a big help to his dad. Greyson Garrett is an Irish vampire whom Jayne is also dating, although he hates Sin.
Nocturne Falls, Georgia, is . . . . . .a small town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year — and provides safe haven for supernaturals — is mostly owned by a family of vampires. Elenora Ellingham is the matriarch with three grandsons: Sebastian, Hugh, and Julian.
The unofficial mayor of Nocturne Falls is the gossipy Birdie Caruthers, a werewolf, who is the dispatcher for the sheriff's department where her nephew, Hank Merrow, is the sheriff. Hank is married to Ivy, another werewolf (Miss Frost Ices the Imp, 2). His deputies include Dave Jansen, Remy Lafitte (a vampire who relocated from New Orleans), and Jenna Blythe (a valkyrie). Druzy, a vampire, works in the morgue.
Titus Merrow is another nephew and the fire chief. Nick Hardwin is a gargoyle dating Willa Iscove, a lapidus fae with a jewelry store, Illusions (The Gargoyle Gets His Girl, 3). Ivan "Van" Tsvetkov is a dragon shifter and retired MME fighter (The Dragon Finds Forever, 7).
Jack Van Zant, Cole's father and a raven familiar, is dating Birdie. Prof Cole Van Zant is engaged to Pandora Williams, a witch and the best realtor in Nocturne Falls (The Professor Woos the Witch, 4). Kaley is Cole's daughter and another witch. Kizmet is the kitty Kaley got in "When Birdie Babysat Spider", 4.5. Marigold is Pandora's sister, a green witch; the sisters and their mother, Corette, will do some spellwork. Ada is a ghost helper.
Arty is an amazing server — and an oracle — at Mummy's diner, the premier breakfast spot. Timmy buses the tables there. The Poisoned Apple is a nice pub. I Scream is a great place for ice cream. Insomnia is a supernaturals-only nightclub owned by Lucien Dupree, a retired reaper, where Chet is a bouncer. Bridget Merrow, Hank and Titus' sister, is also a werewolf, and she owns Howler's, a popular bar and grill.
Myra Grimshaw, a part fae, passed and a shrine to Jayne was found. Nate had been her great-nephew and had gone to school with Titus. Charlene Paris Monroe was the girl Nate and Titus fought over. Brett Gonzales had a license and keys to daddy's car. Simon Hart and Francis Saint are possibilities.
The North Pole (NP) Eustace "Stacey" Brightly is a winter elf and tinker who went a bit overboard with some snow globes. Sarabelle had been Eustace's sister. Tempus Sanders, a.k.a. the Sandman, had been a special guest in Miss Frost Saves the Sandman, 3. Rudolph Pringle was an inventive tinker. Prancer and Cupid are some of the reindeer pulling Santa's sleigh on this emergency jaunt. Owen Coldwell was a tinker who was banished. Yeti are actually tiny, the size of a four-year-old, very fast, and hard to reason with.
Lark has been Jayne's enemy for the past decade, even more so after events in Miss Frost Cracks a Caper, 4.
The Cover and Title The cover has a bright blue sky with a mix of pale blue and white snowflakes creating a border around the central image. True to form, the center is the magic snow globe with a furry blue yeti standing in the snow. The stand for the globe has a brass label indicating the series information. The green-eyed Spider wears a fuchsia muffler and sits to the left of the globe. Jayne is on the right wearing a black coat trimmed with white fur on the shawl collar and cuffs with a matching fur pillbox hat and ear flaps of royal blue with turquoise trim. The title is at the top in white with a dark black shadow. The author's name is in line with Jayne's hips at the bottom in white with a softer black shadow. Below that is an info blurb in white with a fuzzy black background.
The title isn't just Miss Frost Braves the Blizzard, but everyone in town!
This installment was just rushed. The romance between Sin a Jayne is rushed. The mystery has huge plot holes that I can't give away because of spoilers. And I didn't enjoy it.
This was a different Jayne story, namely, it was the most romantic one thus far. While previous stories were mysteries with a dash of romance, this story was a romance with a dash of mystery, and in that sense it resembled more the Nocturne Falls series than Jayne Frost. this is not necessarily negative, however, I expected some explosive action after the previous book. In this book we get to meet a more domesticated and well settled version of Jayne. There is no pressure, no uncertainty, just Jayne having a boyfriend for a change. I can't say any more without giving spoilers for previous books. Jayne was also different in this book, some of her confidence was gone for some reason and she spent half of the book blaming herself for something which was utterly out of her control, basically she was putting blame on herself for being herself. I did not like that, but I did like that we get to see a more vulnerable side of Jayne. The mystery and action are slow building here and most of the usual Jayne stuff happens here in the last quarter of the book. The problem she is facing is different as well and there is no simple solution for it. However, there were few surprises worth waiting for. All in all, it was a nice addition to the series, but I hope the next book comes with more mystery and action. The Nocturne Falls is a great series and the reading order is: The Vampire's Mail Order Bride (Nocturne Falls #1), The Werewolf Meets His Match (Nocturne Falls #2), The Gargoyle Gets His Girl (Nocturne Falls, #3), The Professor Woos The Witch (Nocturne Falls, #4), and The Witch’s Halloween Hero (Nocturne Falls #4.5) in Spell of the Ball Anthology, The Werewolf's Christmas Wish (Nocturne Falls #4.6) in Hex the Halls Anthology, The Vampire’s Fake Fiancée (Nocturne Falls #5), A Vampire's Valentine Surprise (Nocturne Falls #5.5), Miss Frost Solves A Cold Case: A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost #1), The Shifter Romances The Writer (Nocturne Falls #6), Miss Frost Ices The Imp: A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost #2), The Vampire’s True Love Trials (Nocturne Falls #6.5) in Taming the Vampire collection, Miss Frost Saves The Sandman: A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost #3), The Dragon Finds Forever (Nocturne Falls #7), The Vampire's Accidental Wife (Nocturne Falls #8), Miss Frost Cracks A Caper: A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost #4), Miss Frost Braves The Blizzard: A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost #5), and ever growing series of Nocturne Universe Novels, which surpassed 25 by now. Great world to get yourself immersed in.
Christmas is finally over and life has slowed down for Jayne for now. Jayne has a new beau and she's beginning to think he is the one. He has a cat that Spider likes and everything seems great. That is...until Myra Grimshaw's death reveals the elderly fae seemed to have a strange obsession with Jayne's royal family and she has a lot of unauthorized objects that should only belong to a winter elf including a very questionable snow globe. Overnight a huge whiteout of magical snowstorm hits the town and Birdie is kidnapped. Can Jayne save the town, her crown, and her friends?
This was of the most intense mysteries Jayne has faced yet! There was a lot at play here and everything was tied together somehow, someway. I'm glad the author upped the game here. The last couple the mystery seemed rather easy to solve, but this one I was unsure how Jayne was going to fix EVERYTHING and figure out what was going on.
And that twist about Myra. That was great.
I'm beginning to like Jayne's new boy. I'm sad it didn't work out with the vamp because I adored him, but this new guy seems to be perfect for her and Spider and I am happy.
Can I just say how happy I am that the original narrator is back!!!!! Don't get me wrong...the guy who did 4.5 was good, but I adore this narrator so much more. Her voices are perfect for the characters.
Overall, I really enjoyed this one. Probably one of my favorites of the series so far. The mystery was fun and I had no idea how Jayne was going to save everyone and everything. I'm liking the romance and the original narrator is back. Yayy! I'll give this 5 stars. No issues. Adored it.
Aunt Birdie having blue hair like our Winter Elf Princess Jayne Frost might just be a coincidence, but that coincidence lands her in the middle of an unexpected crisis. It begins when when Jayne is asked to help determine the true identity of recently deceased Myra Grimeshaw; who was believed to be fae, but because of what is discovered in her basement may possibly have been a winter elf. Curiosity may have killed the cat, but in this case it's the curiosity of a clumsy deputy breaking a missing experimental snowglobe that may end up freeze all of Nocturne Falls! Add in the story told to scare elf children, about the yetti kidnapping children to make them their king or queen, and those children never being seen again, only the story has some terrifying basis in fact. This is one time where Jayne has no hesitation at calling in the big guns! Her father, Winter Elf King Jack Frost ! Her uncle, Kris Kringle alias Santa Clause ! And the Sandman ! But, Oh what a mess to cope with in the meantime ! Delightful reading
I love Kristen Painter's entire Nocturne Falls series, and this book is no different. When a deputy accidentally breaks a mysterious North Pole snow globe at a crime scene, it creates a portal to the North Pole, allowing Yetis to turn Nocturne Falls into a mini-North Pole.
Unlike the previous mysteries in the series, this one is light on the mystery. Plus, the whole insta-winter strikes Georgia because a deputy drops a malfunctioning North Pole snow globe communications device, and the story doesn't have a villain -- except for maybe the Yetis, who seem to be like evil blue Teletubbies on a sugar high.
The character parts are excellent, and the relationship between the different characters is great. Buttercup finally gets something to do (I like her and she's been largely MIA from the series since book 1). I'm also starting to really like Jane's new boyfriend Sinclair (even though they're moving very fast).
I started this series by grabbing a free copy of the first book and each book has been amazing. Just when I think that the last book was the best, I read the next one, but really, each book has been really good. Only now I've finished this one and amazon hasn't offered me the next book. I feel like I have been left with a cliffhanger. This latest book in the Jayne Frost series was a lot of fun. The story is never dull and I always feel like I can't put it down until I have finished the entire book. I love Nocturn Falls, the town and the people. You never know what may happen next.
Finally the annoying triangle is gone! I just don't get it. Why was there a triangle at the first place? It felt so out of order. Just like... triangle? Why not? Let's add the triangle for the sake of triangle and doesn't matter if it feels so unnatural. It might be my issue and sound a bit emotional but I don't like triangles in general and if they are added who knows why... you guessed it! As for the story I loved it! Charming, freezing and pretty interesting. Some moments were surprising and festive. A nice story for a chill winter festive evening. I appreciate the cozy and very warm feeling the story gives you. It's so calming and inspiring at the same time.
Needed a “Nocturne Falls Fix” and Jayne Frost is a fun way to revisit.
A death, blizzard, secrets, Princess, Necromancer, Jack Frost, Kris Kringle, eggnog fudge and yetis. What’s not to love about this book. The mystery was solved in my head in the first quarter of the book, but that doesn’t take away from my complete enjoyment of the book. I love the world Kristen Painter has written for us and her style of writing is perfect for spending an afternoon with.
I love this series! Jayne has just survived the Christmas rush and is enjoying a little down time when the North Pole comes to Nocturne Falls and brings yetis with it. With this book you get to learn more about life in the North Pole and Jayne's relationship with Sin. The end of the book makes me wish that book 6 was out already.
Apparently Winter Elves are so different so my imagination..... Because They should have some kind of immunity from cold.... But apparently they are as human as could be. If not pointed ears and some ice magic they would be human. So I am disappointed.
I really wondered how Jayne was going to save the day in this book, but it all came together nicely. I'm a little worried that some of her secrets are becoming known by some citizens! Going to start the next in the series. As always - Spider the cat rules (for me anyway LOL!)
This is the fifth book in the series and an interesting story about some troublesome visitors to Nocturn Falls from the NP. Winter descends on N. Falls and it's nothing like they have even experienced before. Jane must figure out what happened and how to fix it, and it's not small order despite the size of things...
My life has been super stressful lately and I needed an audiobook that was light (I'm having a hard time paying attention reading!) And this series was perfect. Great characters, light and at times silly. Great at taking my mind off all the bad stuff. Really well narrated.
