Twice Bitten

Rate this book
A Bisexual Vampire Romance
Once bitten, twice shy. Isn’t that what they say?
The scars a merciless vampire left on me a year ago have healed, but his message to my father remains clear: the Belmonte family is playing an immortal’s game.
Drugs. Murder. Missing people no one really misses. They’re all things I’ve learned to turn a blind eye to ever since I was a child.
I’ve been promised to a monster to protect my family’s legacy. Fight fire with fire, right?
One night with a vampire of a different kind, arranged by my friends, is supposed to cure me of my fear and erase the etchings of trauma carved deep into my soul. But Galen’s mark goes deeper still.
His mate, Eli, is as ruthless as the man who kidnapped me--and Eli is starting to fall for me too. This can’t work… so why does it feel so right when they call me their Kindred?
-
He’s a vampire. She’s a woman. Neither are what my coven expected I’d choose for a mate, but I want them both.
I need them.
That’s selfish, isn’t it? Loving more than one person? And yet, it’s only when I’m with Eli and our Mina that I feel whole.
They say you can’t help who you love, but it’s clear “they” have certain people in mind. Certain limits.
I’ll have to shatter every last one of them if I’m going to get my happily ever after. I’ll have to make them understand.

This is a steamy vampire romance for adult audiences only. It contains a mutual MMF (both MM, MF, and MFM content), no cheating, HEA.

I liked the book📑, a lot! Just wish there was a glossary of vampire👹 terms because I don't read many Adult xxx Vampire👹 Romance novels.

I enjoyed Twice Bitten. I applaud the author for discussing the sexualities of the three main characters without making bisexual or pansexual a focal point of the plot or making Galen and Eli's sexuality their defining characteristic.

Twice Bitten is the second book in the Nocturne Agency book series, but I did not read the first book before diving into this one and I had no trouble following along with the plot. This book follows the mob boss's daughter, Mina, as she tries to overcome her past by subjecting herself to the thing she hates most: vampires. Overcoming her past, though, brings her to her mate, Galen, and Galen's mate, Eli. The three of them together will try to find their peace while also combating the chemical warfare infecting the local vampires.

Twice Bitten is a well-written, vampire romance featuring a strong woman who loves, and is loved by, two vampires. The plot was creative and featured elements from outside your typical vampire romance genre. Mina, Galen, and Eli were all well done characters with backstories and depth and flaws. I really liked Twice Bitten, and will definitely be checking out other books by G.A. Rael soon.

Galen, Eli and Mina

Galen is a dhampire who works at the Nocturne Agency. Eli, who is an centuries old vampire, imprinted on him about a year ago. He has been fighting it because he was abused by his vampire coven while growing up.
Mina is the daughter of the human mob. She was kidnapped and held as a blood slave for three months by a vampire in order to teach her father a lesson. Her father then arranges her marriage to a different powerful vampire in order to keep her safe.
Her sister and friend set her up with an appointment with Galen as a way for her to get over her fears. She attempts to cancel it, but once she meets Galen she feel comfortable and talks with him for hours. He realizes that he has imprinted on her and that she is his kindred. He goes to Eli for help and then realizes that what he is feeling for Mina is what Eli has been feeling for him.
There is action and adventure as well as betrayals throughout this book because of several different enemies both strangers and relatives. I loved being sucked into this story the same way I was on the first book. I recommend this series to those of you who love vampire books. It is written very well.

I received this one as part of the ARC copy for the latest book in the series (Book 3) and I have no obligation to leave my honest review.
I admit that I liked this one a little more then the first one as we got dual POV's from Galen and Mina and Eli equally shared the spotlight. I really appreciate the author discussing the sexualities of the three main characters without making it the main point of the book which is what usually makes me avoid ménage books.
These 3 characters definitely felt more well developed and it was really hard to put down. Again the human-vampire politics play a huge role in the plot with some further developments from the first book, so we hear from previous characters as well.
Eli for me was the star in this one, though I loved Galen and Mina, Eli I just had that little bit "extra" that made him totally swoon worthy!
No real hint of who is next in the series and I look forward to picking up the next one. Overall a great addition to the series.

First let me state, I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review.

This story was so good. This story has more going on than the first. There's Carmina or Mina, who's a mobster daughter & human who had been kidnapped by a vampire & used as a warning to her father. So she hates vampires, but she's been promised in marriage to one by her father. There's Galin who's a dhamphir (1/2 human & 1\2 vampire) with lots of baggage, & hates vampires. But he works for the Nocturne agency being pimped out. And the there's Eli, a full vampire & second in command to Julian, the "Father" of the coven, who hopped to imprint on Galin (which means Galin is Eli's mate). Mina's sister, Gia, & best friend, Jenna, make an appointment for Mina to see Galin. I'm not saying anything more because I don't want to ruin the story.

I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I liked this story better than book 1. The dynamics between Eli, Galen, and Mina are certainly interesting. I have to admit I felt so bad for Eli for most of the book, though I could understand in part where Galen was coming from. I do like that the potential for jealousy in this relationship is not ignored.

There were continuity issues with book 1 that bothered me, mostly focused on the bonding with Kindred.

enjoyed this book immensely. I had already read the first book in the series so everything fell into place really well. With that said, this book is written in a way that you don't necessarily need to read the first book to follow this one. I loved how feisty Mina was and her ability to stand up to individuals that even grown men would run away from. I liked the author's writing style and how well the whole story flowed. The heat index was off the charts. I particularly like how the author didn't make the characters' sexuality overshadow the plot. A really good read all in all. I look forward to reading the next story in this series.

Enjoyed this book! Good writing with a great plot and wonderfully developed characters. I didn’t read the first but didn’t feel left out or confused. The heat was there to some degree but not super detailed or the focus . While I like that it wasn’t all steam, if you’re going to start it finish it. I prefer my sex detailed. I feel like if you’re going to put it there than go all out but it’s a preference thing and doesn’t take away from the book. I’d recommend especially for those that like pro human vampire stories. ;)
I requested and received an arc copy of this book. This is my voluntary, true, and honest opinion.

This is this first book by this author I have read. While it is book two in "The Nocturne Agency" series, it wasn't necessary to have read book one but I do plan on reading it. Mina, Galen and Eli were great characters and I enjoyed reading about the development of their relationship. Looking forward to more in this series.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I loved this book so much better than the first! The characters were great! Mina the fiery one who knew what she wanted even if she had second thoughts at first and knew when to lead and when to follow. Galen, the dhampire who was gentle and didn't know exactly where he stood. Eli, the patient one willing to wait for his mate.
The storyline was great and had me enamoured with the book practically from the start!

An enjoyable vampire story with a good plot and wonderful characters. Galen, Eli, and Mina have incredible chemistry amongst them. This book is full of action, drama, suspense, and great steamy scenes with all three characters. I really like that Mina is a strong and feisty woman instead of a push over.

Loved the twist and turns within this book regarding the Mafia family Belmonte's, the vampires and the dhampir's from the Nocturne Agency and the ones that are against them. Thought the book was written well with just enough surprises to keep you very interested. The characters were very enjoyable to read as well. Looking forward to book 3.

Gotta love a raging Vampire

This story was really good...Galen, Mia and Eli are all weaved together and the storyline is pulling you in. Who killed who?....who marked who?...who is who's mate?...what's the mob got to do with it?...and maybe another question..how is the vampire coven involved? Guess your gonna have to read it like I did! Enjoy a really good book.

Good

Slow start, but turned into a gripping read. Not what you expect from a vampire romance, that's what made it a great read
