PROOF ENOUGH starts with the discovery of a body in a cognac house, in western France. The story centres round the departments of la Charente and la Charente-Maritime, with excursions to the Limosin and the Isle of man. Commissaires Baty, Dupont, Boutonne and Rousteau, are joined by some new faces. Help with pronunciation is throughout, with equivalent english language phonetics in brackets, following the first instance. There is a list of personalities, “dramatis personae”, a paragraph on pronunciation, and there are links to “contents”, at the head of each chapter.
