Emery never knew the world before the storms destroyed the Earth. She and her family had kept themselves hidden and isolated from the dangers of the outside world.
When the storms returned, everything her parents had built over the years was destroyed. Even though she was afraid of what waited outside, she was left with no choice but to venture out and survive the brutal winter in an attempt to find a new home.
Now, with nothing but a few supplies and the clothes on her back, she must figure out a way to get safe again.
Alone. Afraid. Nothing will ever be the same.

The Last Disaster is the first book in a new series set in the Ravaged Land world. You do not need to have read the Ravaged Land series to enjoy this one, but each book within a series must be read in order.
Kellee L. Greene is a stay-at-home mom to two super awesome and wonderfully sassy children. She loves to read, draw, and spend time with her family when she's not writing. Writing and having people read her books has been a long time dream of hers and she's excited to write more. Her favorite genres are Fantasy and Sci-fi. Kellee lives in Wisconsin with her husband, two kids, and two cats.
I was pleased that the Ravaged Land series would continue on with the main character tied closely with the characters of the previous book.
Other than the potential love triangle, which I find this author loves to do and is really just unnecessary and for me takes away from the story, the storyline itself was great. Lots of action, feelings of despair over their reality and the world is even worse now than before and more divided. It’ll be interesting to see what happened over the years since Ros and crew if it gets unfolded over this series.
Kellee does it again!!!! This book had me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t read fast enough!!! I love her Ravaged Land series and everything else she writes!! I love how she always manages to make the characters have a connection and there’s always someone finding love in the dying world. She is an amazing writer!!!!!
Although I like this book and the story, I cannot decipher the age of the characters but that may be intentional. A frozen winter type of apocalypse is original in the way the groups evolve. Between the Evolved, the Natives, and the Renegades, it is an interesting concept. I look forward to book two.
This series was easily the best I have ever read. I completely fell on love with the characters and continued wanting more. It is filled with lots of conpassion, love, adventure, action, hope, and survival. I read the whole series plus the smaller series in just a few days. I really had trouble putting it down. I am really looking forward to reading more by Kellee L. Greene.
I like this author's writing and think she has an excellent and absorbing writing style. One small wish was that I wish she didn't feel the need to have a love triangle in all her stories, though.
This book was disappointing. The storyline had potential, but there was ZERO character development. We know almost nothing about them, so when things like death or romance occur, it is insignificant because we are not invested in the story. The whole thing takes place over a couple day yet they fall in love, people die, minor and major climaxes occur, and they act as if they know eachother well (although there is little to no dialog between them). It is a good concept but poor writing. The plot was so basic I thought at first it may be good for middle school age, but the language and sexual references are far too inappropriate.
I was a little disappointed. The story was enjoyable but not very deep. I also like post apocalyptic books that have some skill or knowledge. This one was mostly scenario. So I gave the story a 4 star and took another star off for poor editing.
What a surprise Riley got when she left home for the first time! She wanted to do what her parents told her. Things are not the way they said it would be. Women are attacked more often than men. Once women are subdued they don't have the strength to fight back..
This is not my favorite book by this author so far. Maybe I should have read the Ravaged Land first? It did not hold me like the Island series but I will read the next ones to see if it moves on better. Now off to read The Ravaged Land Series.
A continuation of the story of the world after the Great Storms: many years later a war rages on between the Evolved, the renegades, and the natives. A group of travelers struggles to survive. Will they ever be able to stop, to settle down?
So, Emery, caught if Rod and Penn, now orphaned and set out for South, attracts the attention of a young man and his friends who decide to accompany her. Action and tragedy ensues during the journey, as well as romance.
A new generation in the Ravaged Land series and it’s a brilliant read. None of the old characters are in it but it’s the daughter of Ros and Penn who we are now following. It’s a very easy to read book once you get past the fact that Ros is no longer.
Just finished book one of this new series, and I have to say it s very interesting from the first page I am away to start book two I will let you all know how it goes
