Are you experiencing Jesus? Many Christians are bound with the shackles of sinful habits. Qualities like joy and peace are far from them. Can we do anything to experience the freedom of victory in our lives? The answer is a resounding yes! There is hope! And thankfully, that which had to be done to bring us victory has already been accomplished—by Jesus Christ. Would you like to go from being regularly defeated and surprised by occasional victory to being regularly victorious and surprised by a rare defeat? Discover the possibility of experiencing Jesus—the reality of the Christ life, the Spirit-filled life—in a new way. This truly is life again—revival on the personal level.
In 1986, I experienced a personal crisis. My whole future was threatened. My initial response was to fight back against the people I blamed for what had happened and to prove them wrong. Instead, I listened to the counsel of godly men, and began a period of discipleship that proved life-changing. It was humbling, and therefore, it was hard. I faced the truth that others were not the problem; I was. Once that barrier was crossed, I was prepared for the answer to my great need, and the discovery that it had already been provided when I received Jesus as my Savior. The answer was Galatians 2:20, “Christ liveth in me.”
I have read many books since then that unpack that truth. All were helpful. None were as simple or as practical as Experiencing Jesus. In clear and simple language, the author breaks down the essential truths of Christian victory into four short chapters. Line by line, he works his way through Galatians 2:20 to explain our spiritual make-up, the provisions for victory accomplished in the Cross, and how to appropriate victory over sin, by faith.
I highly recommend this small volume on Experiencing Jesus. My copy is well marked with highlights which I will turn to again and again.
