But the story has rather many plot-holes. (The years with the smugglers, the villain etc.)

Everyone believes Estelle Darcy drowned in a shipwreck off the coast of France eight years ago, but really she’s been running from her past all this time. She was rescued by smugglers, but now she knows to much about their operations and leaving hasn’t been so easy. Fortunately, she’s found plenty of places to hide, both from her enemies and from those she loves.
Ross Sandford, the Marquess of Trevane, promised his brother-in-law he’d search for the man’s missing sister. But Ross knows that the woman he loved must be dead. He has no idea how to begin searching for a ghost, especially when the woman left him to elope with another. Ross has been broken ever since and developed quite the reputation as one of the most dangerous lords in London. Ladies throw themselves at him and jealous men plot his demise while Vane himself plans revenge on the man who orchestrated his sister’s ruin.
When Vane and Estelle are thrown together again, a reckoning of the past is in order. Neither is prepared to open up about their feelings or risk their hearts again. They’re different people now, so surely a second chance is out of the question. When danger continues to hound them, the passion they both still feel may not be enough to ensure their future together.
I was so happy to have Ross’ story at last and he turned out to be just a lovely a character as I thought he’d be. At times, however, I was extremely frustrated with Estelle and her treatment of Ross. Her reasons for leaving and staying away seems a bit feeble to me and it took her too long to be honest with Ross, but she did redeem herself eventually. I enjoyed the mystery aspects in this one immensely, even if they did lead to me being rather frustrated by Estelle’s naivete. The narration was enjoyable, if a little dramatic in this case, but that mostly well-suited the story. This was a lovely second chance story and a great ending to a series I have thoroughly enjoyed.

I’m a dissenter on this one.
I fell for the H. In the main, this was because he had little hesitation once he reconnected with the h. He had loved her, still loved her and, once he got beyond his initial rage, was determined to solve the puzzle of her disappearance for eight long years - and then to do all he could to re-unite with her.
So I should love this story. But I don’t. Instead, I found it unconvincing.
Why? Because, to my mind, Clee doesn’t do enough to flesh out those eight years for the h and, in the end, I just don’t believe a story that offers so few cogent details. The years with the smugglers are particularly unconvincing. Why has she now returned to England from France? Why now, instead of when she escaped the smugglers? And how did she get to be a servant in respectable homes when she had no references or experience?
So, even though I did believe in the kindness of the most recent sweet couple, I didn’t, for the most part, identify with or believe in her story. Moreover, the abduction scenario also lacked credibility. Who was the evil kidnapper? I get it that he was a serial killer, but he was obviously out of funds so why make his next “wife” someone who was penniless?
I’ve enjoyed some previous titles by Clee, but not this one.

Another SENSATIONAL read by the truly talented Adele Clee!
This is book four and final in the Lost Ladies of London series.
Ross Sanford the Marquess of Trevane also known as Vane has searched high and low for the woman that stole and then shattered his dreams and heart. Although missing for the past eight years his love for her hasn’t diminished. He fights his demons in the worst part of London in the St.Gilles alleyways looking for a way to exorcise her memory, only to find himself looking into the very same image he’s been trying to forget!
Estelle Darcy has been running away from everyone that she loves. Circumstances and secrets have driven her away only to find herself back in London and the man she ran away from, the one she gave her heart to.
One thing is certain Ross is out for vengeance and answers how can she avoid eight years of running and keep the truth from him? Estelle has to come to terms with the past for them to heal, the truth needs to be revealed.
Will Ross’s enemies ruin his chances with Estelle? Or will she choose to runaway again?
With many twists and turns Adele Clee has written an excellent end to this series. Ross is a swoon worthy magnetic hero and sexy as sin! Estelle has had to overcome tragedy and circumstances not of her own making and thus has acquired strength in herself to overcome her past. An emotional fast paced book full of mystery and intrigue the attraction between Ross and Estelle is steamy hot and l just loved the ending of this brilliant series. Adele Clee is a fantastic author that weaves a magical spell that pulls the reader in the lives of the characters! I can’t wait to read her next book.

Adele Clee has a gift for capturing the reader at the beginning of a story and not letting go until the end. This is my favorite trope of the damaged hero and heroine who strive to find their happy ever after together. From the first page, when the hero Ross Sandford the Marquess of Trevane, goes to one of the roughest parts of London so he can get into a fight I was hooked. Vane has been so unhappy and on a road of destruction for years after he lost the one woman he loved, Estelle Darcy. Gone eight years, everyone thought she had drowned on a ship but current sightings had confirmed possibly otherwise. As fate would have it, on that pivotal night when Vane was looking to get into a brawl in order to push his memories aside, Estelle appeared. Disbelief, anger, rage and so many other emotions assaulted Vane and he wanted answers as to why she had left him. The author brought these characters to life in a way I fell in love with them both and could feel their emotions. This story had a little of it all. Suspense, mystery, tragedy and of course such a strong love and devotion, it seized my heart. I should not have been surprised at how much I loved this story because that has been the case of everything I have read by Adele Clee. Although this is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. But why would you do that? The entire series is fantastic and it will only make you want to read more by this talented author. Definitely on my to be read again shelf!!!

A series I have loved from the beginning , now has the perfect conclusion with this book .
Two young lovers, torn apart by deception and hate .
When Fate brings them together again eight long years later , will they finally have the chance to right the wrongs done to them.
Or will the past stop them creating a beautiful future together.
This one had me so emotional , to think of these two , so in love , so trusting and to be separated so cruelly.
Adele gives such life to her stories , puts such passion into her characters and leaves you feeling the emotions that she portrays in her hero’s and heroines , it’s hard to separate yourself from her books once finished .
If I could live in a story it would be one of Adeles, to be part of a world she creates would be magical indeed .

Great end to this marvelous series. My first by Adele Clee, but definitely not my last. Well written with lots of wonderful characters.

The Daring Miss Darcy is the final instalment in Adele Clee’s Lost Ladies of London series and completes the series in a brilliant way.
Estelle Darcy has been missing for the past eight years, believed by all who loved her to have drowned at sea whilst eloping to France. However her brother had never given up hope on her and enlisted the aid of her childhood sweetheart Ross Sandford, the Marquess of Trevane (Vane) to find her. Vane, who himself has spiralled into a life of debauchery to deal with his (undeserved) feelings of guilt and self blame is doing his utmost to discover her whereabouts. Estelle has not wanted to be found and has lived away for the ton for many years. It is through a fated chance meeting one night that the two come face to face once more.
The rest of the story deals with the mysteries of Estelle’s sudden flight, and how they come to terms with it. There is also dangers in Ross’s present that he has to deal with. The story ties up many unanswered questions posed from the previous books in the series although they can work as stand alone‘s as there is sufficient background given in the novel.
I was fascinated by Vane ever since his introduction in The Deceptive Lady Darby and was so looking forward to his story. And he certainly does not disappoint. I really loved his character. He had a lot of demons to deal with all stemming from Estelle’s disappearance all those years ago but he never really succumbed into true darkness. He is strong, sexy, dynamic, a wonderful brother and friend and just a fantastic character. He is loyal, forgiving (sometimes a little too forgiving) and shoulders his responsibilities with determination and courage. I fell a little in love with him. Of course, he is or was a bit of a rogue hence the difficulties that arise in his present but he certainly cannot be blamed for the villains madness.
As ever, Adele’s writing is superb and she has created some gems again in her supporting characters. The wise Mr Erstwhile in particular is wonderful. His relationship with his wife holds up a mirror to what Vane and Estelle’s life could have been. Mrs Erstwhile, Wickett are all great characters. The villains are evil and definitely deserve their comeuppance. The story has pace and keeps you gripped. It was nice to see a little of Christian and Rose again and the ending left you with a real feel of completion.

So, you might have noticed that I have not mentioned the Daring Miss Darcy of the title. I could not really call this an honest review if I did not mention her. Try as I might, I just could not warm to Estelle. I feel a little like a disapproving mama who is willing herself to like her son’s bride for the sake of her son. So I tentatively like Estelle for the sake of Vane’s love for her.
I can maybe bring myself to understand why she made such a terrible decision in the first place but I cannot seem to forgive her self pitying selfishness in the years after. She does have her reasons but they seem terribly flimsy to me. Maybe it is because we as a reader saw how affected Vane and Fabian have been in the interim years but even if I can understand why she avoided Vane, I cannot forgive her willing desertion of her brother despite knowing how he will have been devastated by her loss. Throughout it seemed that Vane spent more time apologising and asking for her trust when he had the most cause to distrust Estelle. I don’t recall Estelle actually apologising to Ross once.
There were also a couple of things in the plot that I felt were a little unnecessary. Something horrible happened to Estelle in France (which we are told about but don’t witness) but I don’t feel that there was enough emotional involvement invested in it in the present time to really merit it even happening. I didn’t think it added anything to the value of the story. It maybe would have been better simply left out. And the length of time Estelle stayed away also to me doesn’t make sense. She managed to escape the smugglers 4 years later so why could she not have done it earlier?
I also think Fabian should have been given a little more prominence since he is Estelle’s brother.
These however are niggles that I have personally. Adele is a fabulous writer and it is possibly this that makes me invested enough to really care about Estelle’s motivations and her affect on Vane.
This is not my favourite of the series as my review possibly indicates (solely because of my personal niggles as listed before) but it is definitely well written and a fitting end to the series. An extra star awarded just for Vane!

I'm giving 3 stars for the story and 1 star for the H. Despite the H I do think Adele is a good writer.
There are things that seems incongruent for me. Estelle did not change her given name just her family name and another thing is that how can Mr. Earstwhile's instincts did not know about what kind of person is Hungerford?
I didn’t like that H did not sent message to his brother-in-law that the h was alive when he discovered that she lived. Later I did not like that the h asked him not to tell Fabian. To her is that she didn’t want her brother know and be shamed about her past but to me her reasons seems selfish, she did not think that the brother that loved her beyond all reason would gladly knew that she was alive all this time. He is the only one that didn’t stop to search and believed that she was alive. If the H really loved her he would not think that she betrayed him and that in some part of him knew that she was alive but he felt nothing.
I think the so called love that the H feels about the h is a hypocrisy. The only person that I think who truly loves her beyond everything is Fabian her brother the H from the previous book. It’s the only thing that both Hs shared is the respective love for theirs sisters. The only woman Ross truly loves is his sister. She is the only one that made him celibate for the last 2 years and even then not because he chose to be free of liaisons but he felt guilty to what happened to Lillian when he was having sex with one of his past OW. He was even thinking in going back to his carnal appetites after seen that this sister is married and happy.
When Fabian asked his help to search for Estelle he didn’t want to not only he thought she was dead but to me seems that he didn’t really care if she was alive or not, even if there is a remote possibility of her being she alive and suffering he thought she deserved whatever happened to her because he thought she betrayed him. If he truly loved her he would grasp any possibility that the h is alive . Vane/Ross is a hypocrite because he used the excuse that he is bedding hundreds or more of the women to forget the h, her betrayal and her death in the sea. He lied in his own thoughts when he was having sex to the OWs that he pictured Estelle because when he saw Lady Cornell , the OW of this book he remembered that he used to fantasize about her doing oral sex in him and he getting hard. Hell, Lillian said that he have a huge carnal appetite. Really? It shows that not only does he fantasize about having sex with this OW and certainly others and certainly he was not thinking about the h. Not only he has sex with certainly hundreds of OWs, that he took always care to give earth shattering climax to them. It seems whatever he did to Estelle in this book is nothing more than he gave to the others. All theses Hs in the novels that bedded hundreds of women should have STD and married to them instead to the doormats heroines that always seems in lust with the Hs. Estelle was a lustful that only thought with her loins and behaved like a hussy concerning the H. One of the things that I hate in the books, is that the heroines just only feel desire for the H, if another man touched they feel sick, while all the Heroes feel lust for the women. It shows if the heroines can’t have the heroes they will die a virgin when the H will sleep around until theirs death without giving a thought for the heroines. How can she is stupid of having lustful thoughts for Ross all these years when he is having lustful thoughts and bedding the OWs. All the scenes when she was having sex with him seems sex and not love, always begging him to have sex with her. These kind of heroine just seems virginal to the others because to the H they always behave like a lustful harlot or a cat in the heat thinking with their loins.
And after finding her after all this years besides the rage he felt for her, he felt lust and just want to bed her to get her out of system. He was quick to assume she had a lover, in the past just because he saw her with the OM, even after she said that the OM was helping her, he just want to bed her and be done with it. Even after she told the most of the story, one part of him still wanted to despise her. Really? After what she went through while he was bedding the women. In the beginning after what she told him about the past he still wanted to go back to his liaisons. I think he would be faithful to her in the past if he married her only if their lives where peaceful without problems. If something happened to them he will give some excuse to sleep around and he would take it. If he truly loved her he would remained faithful and celibate after finding her again.
Anoter thing that I hate, is more easily to find the Hs in historical or contemporary novels that they truly loved the previous wife and being celibate after her decease than you find one H being faithful to the h. 99% is not faithful and it’s incapable to being celibate after the h, it doesn't matter if they think that they lost her, or that she was dead, or simply lost contact. But if it's a h, that he thought that did some wrong, he will despise and hate the h. To me only shows that they realy truly loved the OW and to be able to love the h, she need to be a virtuous e good woman at the end of the book.

It shows only that he only will be faithful if he is having sex with her, if she won't want him more he will continue with his liaisons. That only demonstrate that his feeling of love is not deep. If you truly loved someone you will not bear to touch another while here he states that he will continue with his life easily bedding others. Doesn’t seem that he will miss her. And he showed that he is capable of being celibate when he wanted, but he chose not be if in the past and in the future if the heroine won’t stay with him, it only shows that the h is not important enough for him to be celibate.
It is easy to know that the OW is the daughter of the H father's lover. Don't dare to tell me that the h is the only woman in his thoughts if he is fantasizing about his OWs even the evil OW in the past. This particular OW is the main reason that her husband ruined the H's sister.
Even after what the heroine said about her past and that she didn’t want to marry the OM he still thought that the h would want willing to go with the OM this time and he would let her leave if he thought that it what was she wanted even knowing that the OM is not what he appears to be, that the OM was in cahoots with the frenchman in the assault in the alley. He still think that she deceived him again even he partially knew the truth about the first time she left him. I think the only one that is deceitful is the H with the so called love for the h. The first time he used her disappearance as excuse to try to forget her and now in the future he will use the same excuse if she leave him again he will sleep around. I hate that is so easy to the Hs of the romances to sleepy around while the hs never want or lust another beside the Hs, the hs always feels sick when the OM touch her while the H always feels aroused with the OWs.
One observation is for the previous book, that the H lied when he said that Lillian was the only woman he wanted, how she can be the only woman he wanted if he himself had sex with hundreds of others. It's difficult to believe that he had sex if he did not want them. But I do believe that Fabian is more sincere for his love to Lillian and more believable.
The only part that I truly liked in this book is that the OW will hang for murdering the husband. It's rare in a book when the OW gets the punishment. 99% of the books let the evil OWs scot-free with the excuse of not causing scandal when they get away with murder or attempted murder to the h or others, or making harm to the h or others. The irony is that the people and often the H thought that if the h is the betrayer or is the one was accused of the evil deeds that was falsely planted, the same people and the H want the h pay for her supposed crimes even to be hanged. Some books shows that the H is willing to have the h get punishment, how I can believe they truly loved her if they are always willing to let the evil OW scot-free and the heroine punished? It shows that there have more passion and consideration for the evil OW than that for the person you are supposed to love.
There are things that seems incongruent for me. Estelle did not change her given name just her family name and another thing is that how can Mr. Earstwhile's instincts did not know about what kind of person is Hungerford?
I didn’t like that H did not sent message to his brother-in-law that the h was alive when he discovered that she lived. Later I did not like that the h asked him not to tell Fabian. To her is that she didn’t want her brother know and be shamed about her past but to me her reasons seems selfish, she did not think that the brother that loved her beyond all reason would gladly knew that she was alive all this time. He is the only one that didn’t stop to search and believed that she was alive. If the H really loved her he would not think that she betrayed him and that in some part of him knew that she was alive but he felt nothing.
I think the so called love that the H feels about the h is a hypocrisy. The only person that I think who truly loves her beyond everything is Fabian her brother the H from the previous book. It’s the only thing that both Hs shared is the respective love for theirs sisters. The only woman Ross truly loves is his sister. She is the only one that made him celibate for the last 2 years and even then not because he chose to be free of liaisons but he felt guilty to what happened to Lillian when he was having sex with one of his past OW. He was even thinking in going back to his carnal appetites after seen that this sister is married and happy.
When Fabian asked his help to search for Estelle he didn’t want to not only he thought she was dead but to me seems that he didn’t really care if she was alive or not, even if there is a remote possibility of her being she alive and suffering he thought she deserved whatever happened to her because he thought she betrayed him. If he truly loved her he would grasp any possibility that the h is alive . Vane/Ross is a hypocrite because he used the excuse that he is bedding hundreds or more of the women to forget the h, her betrayal and her death in the sea. He lied in his own thoughts when he was having sex to the OWs that he pictured Estelle because when he saw Lady Cornell , the OW of this book he remembered that he used to fantasize about her doing oral sex in him and he getting hard. Hell, Lillian said that he have a huge carnal appetite. Really? It shows that not only does he fantasize about having sex with this OW and certainly others and certainly he was not thinking about the h. Not only he has sex with certainly hundreds of OWs, that he took always care to give earth shattering climax to them. It seems whatever he did to Estelle in this book is nothing more than he gave to the others. All theses Hs in the novels that bedded hundreds of women should have STD and married to them instead to the doormats heroines that always seems in lust with the Hs. Estelle was a lustful that only thought with her loins and behaved like a hussy concerning the H. One of the things that I hate in the books, is that the heroines just only feel desire for the H, if another man touched they feel sick, while all the Heroes feel lust for the women. It shows if the heroines can’t have the heroes they will die a virgin when the H will sleep around until theirs death without giving a thought for the heroines. How can she is stupid of having lustful thoughts for Ross all these years when he is having lustful thoughts and bedding the OWs. All the scenes when she was having sex with him seems sex and not love, always begging him to have sex with her. These kind of heroine just seems virginal to the others because to the H they always behave like a lustful harlot or a cat in the heat thinking with their loins.
And after finding her after all this years besides the rage he felt for her, he felt lust and just want to bed her to get her out of system. He was quick to assume she had a lover, in the past just because he saw her with the OM, even after she said that the OM was helping her, he just want to bed her and be done with it. Even after she told the most of the story, one part of him still wanted to despise her. Really? After what she went through while he was bedding the women. In the beginning after what she told him about the past he still wanted to go back to his liaisons. I think he would be faithful to her in the past if he married her only if their lives where peaceful without problems. If something happened to them he will give some excuse to sleep around and he would take it. If he truly loved her he would remained faithful and celibate after finding her again.
Anoter thing that I hate, is more easily to find the Hs in historical or contemporary novels that they truly loved the previous wife and being celibate after her decease than you find one H being faithful to the h. 99% is not faithful and it’s incapable to being celibate after the h, it doesn't matter if they think that they lost her, or that she was dead, or simply lost contact. I hated the FMC. I still didn’t know why she left eight years ago. I’m at 37%. Also letting your loved ones think you are dead is unforgivable in my opinion. DNF

The Daring Miss Darcy is a DELICIOUS read with a true swoon-worthy heroic ending!
I LOVED The Daring Miss Darcy! Not only are a well-written mystery and a delicious romance intertwined throughout the plot, but it is a truly HEART-TOUCHING READ. Ms. Clee brings her characters to life so believably that you feel as if you know them personally. I had to reach for a tissue several times while reading this book. The Daring Miss Darcy showcases the vast depth of Ms. Clee's immense writing talent. It made me laugh, cry, (yes, CRY,) and feel fury and outrage over the vile way the main characters, Lord Trevane and Lady Estelle Darcy, had been treated.
Vane and Estelle are deeply in love and plan to marry when she abruptly flees, leaving everyone behind with no explanation. The ship on which she sails sinks off the coast of France, killing all aboard except Estelle. She is believed to have perished as well, and for reasons unknown to anyone else, she lets everyone think she is dead.
Estelle's brother Fabian has never believed she died and asks Vane to search for her in London. Vane's heart breaks when Estelle leaves him and he becomes a very bitter man. He does not believe Estelle survived the sinking of the ship and does not want to cause himself more painful memories by looking for her. But Vane agrees to search for Estelle. When they finally meet again after eight years, Estelle will not tell Vane why she left, making him think the worst about her.
However, when Vane finds out why she left him and her family so long ago, his heart begins to mend. When danger finds Estelle, Vane swears to keep her safe, no matter what. The ending is especially heart-felt and Romantic with a capital R! I needed another tissue, but for happy tears this time. Vane's heroic actions are indeed swoon-worthy.

I have enjoyed all of Adele Clee's books, including her latest. The Daring Miss Darcy is a wonderful mix of angst, danger, romance and HEA love. I could not put it down. I reviewed it on Amazon. The following is a portion of that review.
Life is truly all about the choices we make. For Miss Estelle Darcy, her pivotal, but fearful decision changed the course of not only her life, but also the lives of the two men she loves most in all the world. For the last eight years, her beloved brother Fabian Ravenscroft has mourned her, while – the love of her life – her fiance Ross Sandford, the Marquess of Trevane has cursed her.
It's not that Ross and Estelle's story is so unique, because it really isn't. What hooked me from the first paragraph was their individual responses to both their own choices that they could control, but also the choices of others which were out of their control. Ross is a masculine mix of dominance and tenderness, pride and humility, with a dash of rash bravery. Estelle is a sweet but strong mix of naive bravery and prideful stubbornness. Their personalities were further enhanced by some memorable supporting characters that each made me want to step into the book and just have a chat with them.
My only (person preference) negative was the overly descriptive sexual scenes, which seemed more so in this book than in prior books. Ross and Estelle's chemistry is undeniable, but some information is best left to ones own imagination.

Lord Trevane thought he'd lost the love of his life when Estelle Darcy was lost in a shipwreck off the coast of France. Her loss was even more painful to Vane as all signs pointed to her running away with a lover. For eight years, Vane tried to dispel the ghost of Estelle's memory. When her brother insisted that she was alive and that Vane join in the search for her, Vane refused. But Fate intervened when Vane came face to face with Estelle in a dark alley.
This was a wonderful ending to the series. It was nice to catch up with two of the other couples and especially to see so much of Christian, he was my favorite hero from the series, with Vane a close second. This was a steamy read with explicit scenes tastefully done. It can be read as a standalone but I do recommend reading the rest of the series!
I really liked both Vane and Estelle as the main characters, but I fell in love with Estelle's protector and friend, Mr. Erstwhile. What a sweet kind man! Vane had some great qualities, his determination, his loyalty, his obvious love for his sister. Estelle was passionate and loving, and I thought they were great together. The mystery of where Estelle had been, and what her new admirer had in mind, kept me hooked and listening.
The narration was done well, with different voices for each character and a lot of spirit. It kept me captivated! I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

It has everything you could ask for in a story, Suspense, Mystery and Love lost and maybe found.
Lord Trevane know as Vane has spent the last eight years trying to bury his feeling

for other man and then drowned at sea.
After he pledges to find her to her brother Fabian ( his new brother in law) who has been told she was seen in France and is alive.
He sends people to search for her but hits dead ends.
He also has his own problems, to deal with vengeance on Lord Cornell.
The person who had his sister ruined. Dealing with Lady Cornell stalking him for
her own reasons. Lots of hidden secrets here.
Fate brings them together, now they have to search thru everything that they

really do happen.

She is the lost sister of Fabian, the pirate from book 3 and she really believes that her history of the past 8 years makes her unworthy to be part of her original society level and status, so she keeps away from the man who has always loved her as well as from her brother.
Vane has been tricked into finding her so does all he can to do this.
In this story you will meet up with an evil, conniving temptress, some of the characters from the last book and some very endearing new characters too.
I loved the way this tale was like a web of exciting or delightful scenes passing easily, one to the other and making it into a very readable and enjoyable book.
Adele Clee and Liisa Ivary have shown once again how great teamwork can entertain a reader and make one feel as if they are participating in a story and so I am very happy to recommend it.

Another excellent read in this series. This is the story of the Marquess of Trevane’s (Vane) and his lost love Estelle. Vane was a powerful and dangerous lord. Estelle was his one true love, who was thought to have been lost at sea. There are a number of mysteries to resolve, including why Estelle left him eight years ago and where she had been. Vane also wants to discover who was behind his sister’s scandal in order to seek his vengeance. The secrets are slowly uncovered making for an absorbing read. What a lovely man Mr Erstwhile was, with his thoughtful insights. The ending was so romantic and although I was sorry to see that this was the last book in the series, the new series looks very intriguing. I received a copy and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I am so sad to read the last book in this series - Ms. Clee had me hooked on the first book & kept me there through Book 4. I have really looked forward to Estelle Darcy/Lord Trevane's story - it was worth the wait & was fantastic! I do not summarize books in my reviews as it has been done by several others doing their reviews, but I will say that you will not be disappointed in this book or the series. Ms. Clee's stories are always full of wonderful main & secondary characters that you fall in love with & find yourself living their story right along with them. Her plots are a little different than the "norm" in historical romance which makes them really fun & she always writes a HEA to the end. This story had loss of love, evil villains, loyal/loving friends, endearing sibling love & throw in some twists & turns.

While this story starts in the grubby St. Giles of London, it is not at all dark and gloomy. It is helpful to have read The Scandalous Lady Sandford (Book 3), but sufficient background information is woven into this story without being repetitive. There is also a nicely incorporated cameo appearance by Lord Farleigh and his Rose of Book 2. Estelle has found refuge with the loving apothecary couple, yet she still fears being hunted down by French smugglers of her past. Trevane still feels betrayed by her flight 8 years earlier. They have to come to terms with their past which they do manage without those endless and repetitive "thoughts" found in other stories. I greatly enjoyed reading this.

This book is so much more than a love story with a touch of mystery. This is the journey of two tortured souls kept apart by greed and treachery. I instantly fell in love with the hero and heroine. I cried for them and prayed for their happy ending. Ms Clee did an outstanding job portraying them. And, as always in books written by this excellent author, the mysteries surrounding our couple left me turning page after page in anticipation of what was going to happen next. This is another well-executed storyline and I hope there will be more. I highly recommend every book in this series. The Daring Miss Darcy can be read as a standalone but all four books in the series are wonderful.

Adele Clee is one of my top favourite historical romance writers and 'The Daring Miss Darcy' was an excellent addition to the Lost Ladies of London series.
This second chance love story is lovely. The two characters fall back in love very naturally and without resentment and anger getting in the way of them being together again. There is also an element of suspense to the story to do with a couple of very nasty characters. This I love as the suspense always keeps me hooked and turning the pages.
The narration is excellent and faultless. A very good production.

A WONDERFUL ENDING TO THIS SERIES! I am always sad when a series ends, but Ms. Clee brought her story of the Ladies of London to a heart-warming conclusion. Each couple lives and loves in a different way. Miss Darcy, the most daring of them all, has had to live through unspeakable hardships, but she perseveres. Ross' life was bleak without the love of his life. This is the story of how they navigate the problems of coming together again after 8 years of loss.

I love to read a good book, it is one of favorite things to do. Needless to say this is another fabulous book by Adele. Ross is a perfect hero, dark and brooding because of a lost love. Estelle is sweet, kind and dedicated. Eight years separated, against the odds, fate brings them together again.

This was a really good conclusion to this series. I’ve enjoyed all the characters and getting to know them. This was an interesting piece of the overall storyline. Ross and Estelle are vibrant characters whose thoughts and feelings you as reader are privy to and learn a lot about them. A very good read.

I have enjoyed many of Adele Clee's books however I feel like she just places you right there you feel like you are just drown in to the characters you are one with them. I ask you to read the series and wait for the characters to walk off of the pages into your life.

Very Entertaining!
This is the last book in the series and presents the final pair of separated lovers, Vane and Estelle. Very quick , fast moving, involved, and intricate, it contains lots of characters who have caused and interrupted the events of the past eight years! Very satisfying finale.

The Best of The Series
Adele Clee writes with heart. Lost Ladies of London is an exceptional series. Every happy ever after was wrought with villains, murder, suspense, mysterious events and romance. I've read several of her series and I have never been disappointed. I can't wait to start another series.

A great end to the series
This was a great end to the series, Lord Trevane eventually finds his love, Estelle who he believed had left him 8 years ago. This has been a great set of stories, all the characters were strong and the storylines unusual. It is best read them in order as the stories link together.

This is a really good ending to a series. All 4 storylines wrapped up together. Estelle is an extremely strong heroine. Ross is an amazing hero who goes out of his way to help Estelle and reunite her with her brother.
