Ezra didn’t exist as far as his kind were concerned. The shameful circumstances of his birth meant he wasn’t even on the ladder of the demon hierarchy. Use or be used were the only lessons he’d learned at the feet of his fellow supernaturals.
Bonding the only vascellum in existence should have brought the status and wealth he’d craved in the endless darkness and pain of his youth. Instead, Finn had brought love and loyalty he didn’t deserve and the demons who sought to pull him back into the night.

An incubus should treasure and protect his vascellum, but what happens when it’s the demon who needs protecting?

3rd part of Incubus, an m/m novella series. Graphic material with plenty of angst.
NOT a standalone.

Emma is the #1 Amazon Bestselling Author of m/m series such as Paint, Incubus, and Lies.

Known as the Queen of MM angst her books include Sci-fi, paranormal, and contemporary romance and always puts her characters through hell before giving them a HEA. She blames her rebellious muse (who looks like Chris from the Paint Series) for the erotic aspects tickling the angst, and the humor cuddling up with the erotic.

When not writing or reading she herds Birman cats and sons; Both groups argue that the other is too large.

I LOVE this series! I need more! I think Finn is an incredible character and love the paranormal details that are brought into this series and keeps developing throughout the series.

Writing is great with well-developed characters, that leaves you wanting more. Can't wait for book 4!

Fantastic emotion is uncovered as our favorite characters traverse treacherous ground

Milo’s shifter pack captures Finn and Ezra and takes them to Wales, where they are held separately while the pack Alpha decides their fate.

We learn a little more about Finn’s character arc in this book as he tests his new sexual confidence on a group of susceptible young shifters, and explores his experiences of Ezra’s feelings and fears through the strengthening bond.

We also get a tantalizing glimpse into the events in Ezra’s past that transformed him into a loner incubus, scared of addicting humans and blasé about their choices. When Fabian and Silas, father and son vampires, reenter Ezra’s life accompanied by chains, Finn (and the reader) experience Ezra’s extreme fear. The arrival of Avery, Ezra’s fellow incubus, hated cousin, and the new Supernatural Council Leader, further complicates matters.

The third installment of this series continues to deliver sparkling characters, deep-felt emotions, and of course the wonderful and often fun m/m sex scenes we have come to love from Emma Jaye. I can only imagine that anyone who has read the first three books in the series is waiting with baited breath for book #4.

Will they get to be together

The story continues and things just keep getting more challenging for Finn and Ezra. Ezra past comes back and makes things even more difficult. The story for me for a bit confusing when new characters kept being Introduced. I'm curious what is next to come with Finn and Ezra.

3.5*

In questo terzo volume la storia inizia a prendere una piega “inaspettata”. Una piega che definirei molto più solida e che, quasi inaspettatamente, fa fare alla serie un piccolo balzo di qualità rispetto ai volumi precedenti

I swears every time I think I have down where I think Emma Jaye is going to go with this series she throws me for a loop. Not that I am complaining because each book in this series keeps getting better and better and more twists are thrown in even while you are reading it. I love a read where it is almost impossible to see where the author is going with the book. It makes it that much better when there is definitely the elements of surprise throughout the read, especially in a series such as this one.

This book picks up where book two left off with Finn being taken by the Alpha wolves and whom he thought was both his and Ezra's friends. That is the thing though. Even though they believe they are helping Finn they still consider him and Ezra both friends. The unfortunate circumstances surrounding everything is whether Finn gave consent to being with Ezra willingly or not so willingly.

Though finn and Ezra both try and tell everyone that consent was given no one is listening. Worse yet when Ezra reveals parts of his past to his captures, though they want to believe him they are unsure of whether he is telling the truth or not.

Unknowly because of bringing the allegations to the council, they have placed both Finn and Ezra in danger and now it will take some old friends and unlikely new friends to protect them from the harm that is quickly coming their way.

The true question is will Ezra and Finn be able to pull it together in order to protect one another if not themselves from the new threat or is their fate already sealed for them and they just do not know it yet?

I have found myself wavering back and forth on whether I like Ezra or not and if his intentions with Finn are purely selfish or if he is truly in love with him and does not realize it yet. I have not finished my opinion on this just yet but I am starting to lean more one way then then the other. This book has by far been the best out of the series as of yet and I truly cannot wait for the next book. If it is even half as good as this one we are in for a lot of surprises.

Was given this galley copy for free for an open and honest review

The third and in my opinion the best book in the series. Emma Jaye does it again.

This book goes a little no way to explain why Ezra is like he is, he came from a very bad start in life and spent years being beaten raped and abused by an evil clan of vampires.

The shifters now have both Ezra and Finn but they are not together, can they ever be reunited? Can they ever not be reunited? Is it still just lust or is what they are feeling for each other real love?

When Fabian the vampire delegate of the supernatural council arrives Ezra is pushed back into his terrible past. Is there anyway his life could be good again? Add in Avery the council leader and things look bad. Can their new friend and an old one help Ezra and Finn to become one again?

Holy moly, things just got real! Finn gets separated from Ezra, and he finds out just what he's made of as he battles his way back to his Incubus. As a vascellum he's way more than just a partner, and I loved how thrilling and exciting this book was! Vampires, shifters and demons all vying for dominance! Hot, hot, hot!

This grabbed me from the beginning and didn't let me go. It really ramped up all the emotions and really hit all of my review criteria perfectly.

The character development really deepened in this novella. It was intense and everything I could want on that. The world building also was brought up to another level. Both combined created a striking picture.

The storyline continued to make me fall deeper in love with everything Emma Jaye created. It also threw me so many twists that I was kept waiting for whatever would come next. The author is definitely not predictable in any sense.

5 stars and an immediate dash to book 4.

These poor boys...there's like a never-ending drama!
And one secret revealed after the other... and then some twist and turns thrown into it all?!? My oh, my!

"Softness led to pain. Only the tough survived in this dog eat dog world."

Ezra's story nearly chattered my heart. He's not as skin deep as he appeared in the two first books, which makes him all the more perfect!

"Somebody wanted him, for himself, rather than what he could do for them."

Pixie..yeah she redeemed herself in the end of this book!
Yeah, I didn't care for how the people in power just assumed this and that happened, without hearing from Ezra and Finn, first.

OH.MY.GOD!! This series keeps getting better and better!!! In this book we find out more about Ezra’s past and it explains a lot about the way he acted towards Finn in the first two books. And wow my heart ached for Ezra. Finn shows how clever and awesome he is and Pixie is a bad ass and I totally have a crush on her. I liked the new characters and even though I wish there was more Milo so many interesting things happened in the book that I didn’t miss him too much. It was fantastic! I finished it in a day and I’m staring the next book right away!!!

Emma Jaye does it again. These books seriously just keep getting better! I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next.

We are not able to get a small glimpse into why Ezra is well Ezra. He was not always the smart mouth demon we have come to love, he never wanted to be that actual, it was forced upon him. Now Milo and the other shifters have him and Finn, but who is around to protect him when his tormentors come to collect?

Finn knows nothing other than he is separated from Erza and he must find him. We are finally able to see little Finn as something other than a doormat and I love it! He uses his newly learned tricks to show everyone who is boss in order to get him and Erza reunited, but when he finally finds his love will he be the same smart mouth demon he knew?

We are introduced to a plethora of new characters as well. We will love some and hate some, but they all play a part in the bigger picture so make sure you pay attention! All in all, this is an amazing story that once again keeps you on the end of your seat until the very last word!

Memories

In Incubus Pain by Emma Jaye, we get to see a reversal of sorts. Finn takes on more of a protector role as Ezra is the vulnerable one. We get to learn more about Ezra and past; it wasn’t a pleasant one but it does shed light on why Ezra is the way he is. Also, the three shifter brothers added a lot of humor to the story. It’s a good thing they’re pretty.

I really liked seeing Finn become stronger and own who he is. I have a feeling he’s going to be a bada$$. I am concerned though about what the future holds for them as there are some worrisome twists that occurred in this installment but the ending did have me cheering on one special person.

I just love how black turns white and white washes in blood. This is what Pain is. This part so far was my favorite among the series. I love how Emma Jaye unwrapped Ezra, letting us see his damaged, vulnerable nature. How his past, revealed, completely changed the image of the heartless demon I developed. The love or obsession Ezra and Finn have toward each other grew with every book and now took new depths.
Deep and painful drama, hilarious and cute moments, steamy romance and a lot of action drew me and never let me go.
I am waiting for the next book to come!

Emma continues the adventure with the dark tale of Ezras confinement by vampires. He is their chained toy. Yet one, Silas while tormenting Ezra. Falls in love with the incubus. Keeps u involved and interested cover to cover. Highly recommended!

Just keeps getting better

Gah!!!!!!! These books are so not good for my sleep schedule. I’ve been sucked in and it’s so hard to put them down. My allegiance flip flops as I read each book and now knowing what I do, I would like to think I am firmly in Ezra’s court. The poor demon. To realize you are in love just to have it ripped away again. Even being a sex demon doesn’t stop the need or the want in his heart. Onto the fourth book in the series. Sleep is overrated right? This review is an honest and unbiased reflection of my thoughts after reading an advanced readers copy of the book.

Morally corrupt... Yet, delicious...

So, being able to put aside there only being one morally correct way to live life... Due to the existence of many races/supernatural/humans... Openly, acknowledging that there is many was to allow your moral compass to be guided... This book series is everything we are not supposed to and I am loving it... The editing could be tweaked for sure... But, doesn't take away from the story at all...

I'm caught between hoping, steam from the ears mad 🤬 and heart wrenching ugly face sobs 😭

I hope the vamp rots!
Milo and Pixie I know you thought what you were doing was the right thing but I fear things are about to get worse for both of them
Finn I adore your zest - don't lose it
Ezra I'm not sure if I should clock you or cuddle you... I'm sorry those who should have protected you failed

The story is still pretty good, especially with the revelation of Ezra's background. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of typos and missing words in the book.
