In book two of the SG Trilogy, Agent Abby Kane is enlisted by the Department of Justice to crack the mystery behind Suitcase Girl. Who is she really? Why is she here? But there are others who are determined to prevent this from happening.
Meanwhile, notable people in the Bay Area are being abducted—they disappear and then reappear in less than twenty-four hours—without any recollection as to where they’ve been or what had occurred during their time missing.
Abby sees a connection between Suitcase Girl and the abductions. As she steps closer to learning the truth, she, once again, is caught in the crossfire of a mind-boggling circle of evil.

I am really enjoying this trilogy. Caution, though, each book ends with a cliffhanger. This trilogy is really one story broken into three books. It's well written, entertaining, interesting and pulls you in, but be prepared to read three books to get the full story. Well worth it.
This book was as engaging as the first, Suitcase Girl. Abby and her team are interesting characters. They fight crime (FBI) while living normal lives; they are dedicated people. The story is more than interesting. It's intriguing and mysterious. The story is well paced and thought out. As a reader, I'm pulled in, I root for the good guys, I want to know what's behind all the actions. It's a wonderful story to lose oneself in.
Looking forward to the third book of this trilogy so that I can find out how it all ends.
Seamless transition from the Suitcase Girl, more questions and intrigue for Agents Abby Kane and Kyle Kang.
After the deaths of the Chan brothers by Ryan shooting them, Abby is detained in a CIA black house for recuperation of her injuries and observation to determine if she is a spy. After she is released she is surprised to learn that Xiaolian, her mini-me, is being held in the same facility. She and Kyle are asked to spend time with the girl and report their findings back to CIA operative, Spencer. Unbeknownst to Abby and Kyle, a sleeper cell is activated in order to get close to Xiaolian. The Shis, Albert and Cynthia, have moved to the area and two of their three children are in the same classes as Abby's children. The Shis invite Abby and her family, including PoPo, to a barbecue and pool party in order to build a sense of trust and normalcy. As the Shis plan the extraction, they are happy to discover that Xiaolian has been released from the facility into Abby's custody for four days. On Saturday the Shis again invite Abby and the kids including Xiaolian to swim and make personal pizzas. They also planned a gold coin hunt, during which time Albert will grab Xiaolian and hide her. Their hope is to make it appear that Xiaolian has voluntarily run away. Cynthia has yet to learn that Albert has been told to get rid of her. Their attempt on Xiaolian is unsuccessful as she attacks Albert when he tried to drug her, leaving him unconscious. When Xiaolian is "found" Abby and her kids go home with doubts about the Shis growing in Abby's mind. On Sunday, the last day for Xiaolian to be with Abby's family, Xiaolian is alone with Abby and Po Po. While Po Po is resting, Albert sneaks in Abby's home and searches for the girl. Unfortunately for him, she is on the third floor and so is Abby. He makes an error in judgement and tries to garrotte Abby, cutting her hands pretty badly. As Abby fights him off, Xiaolian strikes Albert in the head with her foot. He knocks the girl to the floor then renews his attack on Abby. Just when it seems that Abby is doomed, Albert is shot and lands on Abby. Abby is surprised to see Spencer is the shooter. He has been keeping tabs on Xiaolian the whole time. So much more develops that defies logic. Another great read by Ty Hutchinson!
Again, as I said for the Suitcase Girl, this was not my favourite FBI agent. Abbey was too cute and too rash for a mature FBI agent. But the Suitcase Girl ended so abruptly, and was so different and I guess Abbey has responsibilities, two kids and a mother in law and while still rash it is a good read. The Curator brings her back but with a plot that is more science fiction than reality I HOPE. I do hope that it is so because it is very frightening to believe all that. But we have all heard of ‘designer babies’ not only do they chose eye colour, here they use DNA of best persons with the parents to make something perfect. There are a lot of false clues but the action is always foremost, always, of course, interspersed with baked goods, or fast food...hope they can not gain too much weight.
First -- you must read Suitcase Girl (the first book in The Suitcase Trilogy) to really feel the impact in this, the second book of the trilogy). And there is plenty of impact! If Book #1 ended with a whammy, Book #2 delivers a double-whammy. Ty Patterson has taken the police procedural/mystery thriller into Michael Crichton territory.
FBI agents Abby Kane and Kyle Kang are still dealing with the mystery surrounding Xiaolian, the girl found in a suitcase outside San Francisco's FBI headquarters. They have discovered how she looks and acts exactly like Abby, now they want to know why and who's behind the plot. At the same time, they are investigating the abductions of prominent Bay Area residents. All the abductees are released within hours with no visible harm, nothing taken and no memory of how they were taken. Abby believes the two cases are connected, but by whom and why.
Ty Patterson has crafted a wonderfully twisted plot that initially seems out there in "woo-woo" land, but becomes more plausible as you keep reading. And the details of Abby's home life and her relationships with her family, Kang, Xiaolian add emotional depth. Finally, if you haven't already succumbed to Patterson's masterfully told story, the last chapter with an unexpected visitor, will knock your socks off and leave you reaching to get your hands on Book #3. Great book!
I hated how Suitcase Girl ended. It seemed its only purpose was to lure me into reading the next book. So I stubbornly refused to comply for two months. But then I just couldn't resist and started The Curator. Thankfully, it picked up right where the first book left off, and my questions were gradually answered. It held my interest, the mystery continued and thickened. I will unapologetically start the third book in this series tonight.
This is the 8th book in the Abby Kane series. I enjoyed this book. Kane and Kang are once again on the trail of something sinister. People are disappearing to appear again a few hours later with no recollection of what happened. The suitcase girl is still in this book trying to find a connection. I gave this book 4 stars as it is not a stand alone book. To understand you have to go to the first in the series because they build off one another. I do like that and enjoy having someone decide my next book as I have many waiting. If you enjoy a series that the story continues in the next book this is for you! Consider all the Abby Kane books so you get to really know Abby Kane, where she came from where she is going and how she got to where she is now!!
People in San Francisco are disappearing, then reappearing without any memory of what happened to them. Abby believes the abductions are connected to Xialoian. Is she innocent or a spy?
Mind-boggling evil unleashed.
I couldn't put this book down. Even in the middle of the night. Mystery and suspense played out on the pages. Clues, big and small, kept the thrill high. What's going on? I had to find out.
Rated: PG A few violent scenes. Very few course words.
There’s so many twists and turns that I was kept on my toes but I felt like there were some obvious lags in the storyline. A few weird tenses for words that kind of threw me off. A book needs to be well edited or an ocd mind can get hung up on the small things. Overall, a good story. Kudos for drawing it out in such a fashion that you NEED to read the next book.
This is the same review as what I posted for "Suitcase Girl." I just finished the three books in the Suitcase Girl Trilogy and can say that I enjoyed each one of them. I think they have to be read in order to make sense, but in doing so, they also read well as individual books. I think the premise is fascinating (I don't want to give it away). And Abby Kane is a likeable lead character. I plan to read other books featuring her.
This book is an action-packed thrill ride with a few cool twists. On my scale of 1 to 5, 1 being don’t bother and 5 a real page turner, I give The Curator, a 5. This book was a lot of fun and an exciting read. Ty has created a great suspenseful and action-packed story. I am already reading the third book in the series. Another hit! Adventures, surprises, deceptions and more. All the emotions of daily life. Abby has to struggle with her professional self vs her personal self - something that doesn't usually happen. Can she find the truth? What is the truth? Another thrilling ride with Abby and her "hunches". If you want a great thriller, read this! Don't miss out.
I, sadly, managed to read “The Hatchery” before this book. “The Curator” was less than thrilling because the two main agents of malfeasance are in the wind, and the revelations at conclusion of this book somehow fell flat. “The Curator” is definitely a “bridge” book, needing Book 1 and Book 3 as braces.
Another totally gripping page turner by Hutchinson. Amazing storyline that is way to close to believable. His characters are very well defined and seem so true to life. Can't wait to start book three. Just hope it doesn't have a really stupid ending. Looking forward to many more books from Ty.
While the story line was interesting, I was completely thrown by Devlin's behaviour and thoughts about Nadia. It just didn't feel authentic, from heroine to bitch in the space of an evening without her knowing anything about him or his feelings.
I have enjoyed Abby but am not sure if I am going to read the last book in this trilogy.
Hmmm... After getting the first book of this trilogy free, be aware that the next two books will cost $4.99 each. Since the first two books leave the case totally unsolved, the reader is forced to spend $9.98 to find the answer. I paid the price, but if I were the author, I'd find another way to get rich.
Ok this second book in the trilogy is definitely better than suitcase girl. Much more questions answered and definitely not such an abrupt ending. Yes still question I'd like answered but I definitely enjoyed this one a lot more 😊. It was intriguing and mysterious but not to the point it seemed like it wasn't going anywhere. So looking forward to reading the third one.
Book 2 of The suitcase girl finds Abby Kane still trying to figure out Xiolan and how her skills are so outstanding. Meanwhile she and Kang, her partner are investigating several strange kidnappings. Prominent people disappear for 10-12 hours and have no memory of the missing time or where they were. Fascinating and well thought out. Can’t wait to read book 3
“There is much to discuss. Shall we get started?” 80 Chapters earlier we stood hunched over and leaning against the trunk of a tree, uncertain of our next step. In between, Kang and Kane are back in action. There is a lot of action and I enjoyed and recommend the book.
I read the first one for book club. I wouldn't have even read this one if it hadn't been chosen for book club the next month. Thank God the third one hasn't come out yet. The book seemed obvious to me.
This book is intriguing, exciting, mysterious , evolving. The main characters are likeable with a good moral compass. It is easy to become emotionally invested in the book.
I read The Suitcase Girl and Curator in two days. What a great story, what an evil premise. This shows how advanced technology can go so wrong. I'm eager to read the final chapter.
The first two books in the trilogy have been fantastic reading. Exposing concepts to so far beyond believable that they are likely occurring now. The next step is to purchase book three to continue where this left off.
I love thrillers and detective stories, and Hutchinson takes us to a different level with Abby Kane. I enjoy the descriptions of the locations as well, picturing iconic San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge and Lombard Street.
I liked the first one. I loved this one. The story just keeps getting more intriguing. I'm hoping for a happy ending for Xaolian in the next book in the series.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and went into it without reading the other books. I her found it in my Kindle Group. Only thing I didn't like is that there were a lot of loose ends. I thought maybe in the 3rd book they'd be answered, but it never was.

I've read a few Ty Hutchinson books, and find them enjoyable and easy to read, without being overly gripping or hard hitting, but this one ramps it up a level and progresses the trilogy brilliantly for the third book. Still easy to read, with likeable characters who you want to read more of.
Happy I got some answers in this book I needed, but still felt like some parts dragged on and just felt like filler. The way things all tied together was interesting to follow throughout and adding the thought process
The whole series revolves around a FBI agent and her strong gut feelings leading the way in the modern world. Extremely intriguing and well written. I want to read it faster and not let it stop at the same time.
I was a little iffy on the last book. The writing style just isn’t my cup of tea, but the cliff hanger “forced me” to pick this one up. I’m glad I did. Still not loving the writing but the story is compelling and kept me guessing.
