This is the 5 Th book in the “Bad BoyAlpha series” and it was another wonderful instalment! We met the hero; Sam, in the very first book of the series, and ever since I have been wanting him to get his own story! Sam has had a rough life, which began in a lab where he was tortured. He is definitely rough around the edges, and halfway to crazy. Definitely a shifter no one wants to cross. He has one thing that he lives for, and that is to destroy the lab where he was held prisoner... and to kill the man who doled out the torture. During his quest for destruction, he comes across Layne. She runs her lab but has no idea what really takes place in the company she works for! When Layne and Sam meet, there lives will never be the same!

This story had a ton of action in it! I would have to say even more than the previous instalments! We also meet some fascinating new characters who are an entertaining addition to this shifter world.
Bravo to the authors for being able to keep this series fresh and exciting! I can’t wait to see what happens next!!!

I’m still loving the heck out of this series!! What’s not to like? There’s alpha shifters, not quite damsels in distress, a government conspiracy, revenge plots, tons of hot sex, and a whole lot of insta-love. Not to mention lions, tigers and bears… oh my my my ;)

I’ve been wanting Sam’s story ever since I read book one, Alpha’s Temptation. He was born and raised in a lab, escaped, lived wild and feral until Jackson found him, and has plotted his revenge ever since. He’s been laying waste to Data-X and nothing, not even his newfound love and mate, Dr. Layne Zhao, would stop him. He’s willing to lay his life on the line in order to see this through and to end the mindless torture of other shifters.

There’s action, suspense, an intriguing conspiracy plot and more. I loved the chemistry between Sam and Layne, their push and pull, their fight for what was right, their seemingly intangible connection. It was a wonderful surprise to see more of the lion shifter, Nash, and I can’t wait to get his story. If it’s anything like the books so far, I’m in for a treat!

Layne is just in her lab trying to get the break through she needs when Sam breaks in and steals her research and kidnaps her. She knows she needs to get away but Sam isn't human so she isn't sure she can get away anyway. She doesn't want to leave without her research either because it could help so many people but she doesn't know where the cells that she's been working with have come from until Sam tells her about the labs holding other paranormals that are being experimented on. But he's not mad at her because she didn't know or have anything to do with any of that, she just works in the lab.

Sam is broken ever since his time being experimented on in the labs. All he knows is that he needs to get revenge on those that had anything to do with his torture. He knows that Layne isn't involved but he takes her anyway because he feels something for her but that puts her in danger because now the people she works for thinks she's in cahoots with him and the stealing of her research. Her life is also in danger now.

Watching these two get to know each other better and see that the preconceived ideas they had about each other were wrong was fun. Watching Sam and his friends find the person responsible and try to take him down was an action filled fun time. I really liked the secondary characters and that's one of the reasons I keep reading this series. The world building is great and each book can be read as a standalone but if you read the series from the beginning you really get to know each of these characters better and the overarching storyline will make more sense.

Oh Sam...

Ever since we met Sam I have wanted to read his story.

And what a story it was. Concieved via test tube, discarded then caged up like an animal... Tested to his limits, he wasn't supposed to live.

Desperate to save lives our dear Dr. has no idea what she is really participating in.

Together they mend each other and I loved reading their story. Sam is not an Alpha, so that is different than the books so far, but he's no pushover! He's strong, kind and loving.

Sparkling chemistry that's hot, sexy and makes you bite your pillow, Sam's story was a great addition.

We are getting closer to answers!

We met Sam in previous books but this could still be read as a standalone.

Layne is the innocent, well meaning scientist caught up in the terrible gene manipulation program. Sam is a broken but brave character that I really warmed to. Their story isn't your usual PNR love story. There's lots of emotions and heartbreak to go with your dose of hot werewolf. I enjoyed this story and can't wait to read the next book in the series.

An inspiring and incredible read!!!!

Doctor Layne Zhao is pursuing her goals working as a genetic scientist. Having her mother die from a rare disease spurred the need to prevent the same devastation for others. She doesn’t necessarily like her boss, but to have an impact on the lives of others she will put up with some irritations.

When a new security guard, ends up being an imposter who steals her research, lets her in on his plans to blow up the place, then steals (kidnaps) her life is forever changed.

Wolf-shifter Sam grew up in a lab. Dealing with experiments and torture he was trapped in his wolf for quite some time until an Alpha took him under his wing and helped his human reemerge. But make no mistake, he is damaged goods. The spunky scientist should not interest his wolf – she is human, and possibly the enemy. An amazing attraction grows, but Sam cannot trust his wolf not to mark her.

This story, even more than the others in the series, grabs your heart, tears it up a bit, then slowly puts the pieces back together. A most sensitive, scintillating, swoon-worthy story has never been written!! Well done authors!!

These two authors are dynamite together! They're my favorite duo yet, these books keep getting better and better!
I just fell in love with both Sam and Layne. Sam was a very interesting character. My first reaction is to describe him as sensitive and vulnerable, he's had a horrific life up until recently, and carries scars inside and out from it. But when he's with Layne, he's all dominant and alpha yumminess with her! Layne is an incredibly driven genius scientist, whose research winds up getting her kidnapped by Sam. It's just a fun adventure from there...from her shooting him with a tranq gun, to him duct taping her to a bathroom sink! There's never a dull moment...these two are absolutely perfect together!
This was just a fun, action packed romance, with lots of steamy scenes, and some sweet and emotional, and even sad moments. You won't regret reading this, that's for sure! I can't wait for the next one, to see Nash's story, and I hope we get to see more of Declan and Laurie too!!

Alpha's Obsession: An MC Werewolf Romance by Renee Rose and Lee Savino is the 5 book in the Bad Boy Alphas Series. While Alpha´s Obsession can be read as a standalone, I recommend to read the books in order.
Dr. Layne Zhao is a scientist and works for Omega Project, the company who tortures shifters.
Sam is a were shifter, he was born in a lab, grew up with humans and he was beaten and tortured by Omega Project. Now he´s on the war path and does everything to stop this company. And that includes kidnapping a woman after B&E.
Sam and his brethreen want revenge and they don´t back down. Only with Layne they have a great asset. Sam is driven and Layne endangers herself.
I started reading and was hooked from the beginning. The story is great and I love the writing and the characters. I could feel their emotions in the words. They made me laugh, they made me sad and they made me angry at some point, I mean strongheaded I can understand but bullheaded is too much - see the consequences.
Alpha´s Obsession is a great story, a beautiful 4 star read.

This is the continuation of Sam's story.
He's still trying to find and destroy all the labs where the so called "tests" on captured shifters are conducted. His latest find is a laboratory where Layne, an idealistic researcher is close to a breakthrough in her test series. Unbeknownst to her, her boss is the infamous Dr. Smyth, the head of the "research" into manufacturing the perfect shifter.

When Sam is ready to blow up the complex, he comes across Dr. Layne and he grabs her and her research data before both can fall into the wrong hands.
Layne is still convinced her research will be used to help cure diseases and help humanity.
Until Sam can prove to her that she has been deceived, she is fighting him tooth and nail. But as soon as she finds out the truth, the hunt for the real culprits begins, with her willing help.

Of course almost nothing goes according to plan,......
No, I'm not telling any more!
Just be assured there are lots of surprises, revelations and a HEA.

Going into this story, you don't need to know that the male lead is Sam from the first book in the series. However, if you've read all the books, you know he has a past, and a lot of scars. It's great that are finally get Sam's story, but also heart-breaking at the same time. For me, I feel a connecting to the characters in this series, like I'm looking through a looking glass and spying.

As I'm reading his story, and meeting Dr. Layne Zhao, I know he's met his match, and I enjoyed following the battle of wits, the sexual tension, and Layne's realization as the story progresses. I don't think that either of these could find a better match. It's also nice greening little hints about prior characters in the series, and that made me smile.

While this book is part of a series, each one can be read as a standalone, or completely out of order like I've done with a few of them.

Alpha's Obsession: An MC Werewolf Romance by Renee Rose and Lee Savino is a fairly short read, perfect for paranormal lovers with limited reading time. Layne is a scientist working on a DNA project. Sam is a shifter that was tortured by the people running the lab that Layne works for. Their story is packed with action, suspense, humor and steamy sex. I enjoyed reading Alpha's Obsession and look forward to reading more from the Rose/Savino duo. Alpha's Obsession is book 5 of the Bad Boy Alphas Series but can be read as a standalone. I have to say, I think this is my favorite book of the series so far. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

What happens when you get two damaged characters together? You get a really awesome story with lots of twists and turns that keeps you just totally glued to the story. Sam and Layne are messed up but try to help each figure out what it going on. Layne has been caught between a rock and a hard place and Sam has to help figure out why. Loved the way the story just kept me turning the page and the flow. This is a great book and another awesome story in this series!

JUSTICE—RESCUE—REVENGE

The fifth story in the Bad Boy Alpha series will read well as a stand-alone but even better with the other stories in this series. It will have key people from the previous stories, as well as, a continuing saga in the storyline. We met Sam in the first book with Jackson and Kylie. Sam was stuck in wolf form, and Jackson rescued him and forced him to shift, and he lives on Jackson’s compound. We will meet a young female scientist, Dr. Layne Zhao who works for Data-X analyzing cell samples.

Dr. Layne Zhao’s life is spent in a lab with her research. She has no personal life, no dating, her only goal is to make a difference. She is dealing with a deadly disease, Barrington, that took her mother’s life, and is already affecting hers. She is thrilled with her position at Data-X and feels like she has made an amazing breakthrough in her research. What she isn’t comfortable with is her boss, Smyth, and now another man, Santiago, that he brings into the lab.

Sam is a lone wolf on a mission, to destroy Data-X and to find Smyth. What a surprise to go into Data-X to retrieve data and the plan his to destroy the building like he did one other lab. What he wasn’t expecting was to come upon Layne. He can’t leave her and take down the building, and he can let her sound an alarm, so he must take her with him.

The story takes the reader on a suicide mission into Data-X laboratories, and while it appears he is taking Layne, hostage, he is, in fact, saving her. The adventure is life and death in more ways than one. Getting them away under gunfire, and going into hiding will come with plenty of angst. Dealing with an angry and scared female will have Sam exerting his dominance. Why is his wolf calling for him to mate her? He can’t take a mate, especially not a human. When she tries to escape him, he will have to show her how he will handle her disobedience.

“In a wolves’ world, disobedience is met with punishment.”

The story will bring in many other shifters, some who have also been used and abused in research by Smyth at one of his labs. Opening up to Layne as to the abuse and torture they endured will have her seeing her research is being abused and not for what she believed its purpose was.

“Illegal harvesting. He takes people captive and forces them into his experiments. That’s what Project Alpha is.”

The clock is ticking, and it comes down to Sam being there for Layne or seeking his revenge against Smyth. There is a very good chance he won’t survive this mission and waiting for backup isn’t in his plan, this is going down with only him and Nash, a lion shifter, against Smyth. Will Sam and Nash succeed in their mission and come out alive and what will happen to Layne? There just might be some surprises in the works! You must read it to find out.

The story has several scenes full of angst, sexual tension, spankings, and explicit sex scenes. I look forward to the more books in this series, Alpha’s Passion in April and Alpha’s War in May.

I love, love, love, Lee Savino and Renee Rose when they get together for their Bad Boy Alphas books. I know that I'm in for a great ride, a great read, and a great romance. They are books that I look forward to, reread, and want to pick up again as soon as I'm done with them. That means that the second I hear about a new one, my hands are itching until I get it on my Kindle. It's no different when it comes to Alpha's Obsession.

We first met Sam way back in the very first book. He was a sidekick and was not much in the picture. Sam had a terrible past and he is pretty much on the edge a lot of the time. After spending too much time in his wolf, he sometimes has some tenuous control. He lives for revenge against the one person who caused so much pain and suffering in his life, as well as the lives of many, many other shifters. He's bound and determined to get his revenge, no matter what happens.

Layne is a dedicated scientist. She has spent her life in schools, working hard, and graduating early. Now she's working with a strain of supercells which may be the secret to curing so many, many genetic diseases. She doesn't know where they came from, just that they are nearly miraculous in what they can do. Then one day, a security guard shows up in her lab, and starts messing around with the computers. When she calls him on it, he ends up dragging her away.

All the things that happen in this story, OMG. It starts out with a lot of action and ends up with a lot of explosions. In the middle, you get a love story, more action, and some spanking. Sam and Layne are two broken people who are trying to figure out how to be less broken and if they can be less broken when they are together, and it's beautiful to watch that unfold. They both deserve to find someone who loves them and who wants to put them first. I'm so glad to see Sam get his chance of having what he deserves and what he needs. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series and getting peaks at Sam and Layne.

Wow - this series just keeps taking us to new places, and new storytelling heights! We met Sam before and knew a little about his past, but it all comes out now that he has his own story told. He has one purpose in life - to stop the madman that is responsible for all the pain in his life - and he is prepared to to die himself if necessary to accomplish this. First step - steal the data and stop the research, even if that means kidnapping the lovely and completely unwitting scientist who considers that research to be her life's work.

This book is action-packed, filled with passion and barely-controlled sexual tension, along with an assortment of characters that will completely stretch your mind's concept of shifters. Layne's acceptance of her fate was beautifully written, and the eventual resolution to that story thread was fist-pumping and empowering. Sam's emotional growth was realistic and heartfelt, and a true joy to see. Seeing Nash again and getting to know more of his story as a set-up for the next book in the series was just the icing on the cake.

These Bad Boy Alphas are the very best in shifter book boyfriends, and this series is the best series of shifter romances I've read. Each book is a standalone romance, but the mystery that ties them all together is enthralling and gives so much emotional depth to the overall environment. This story was intriguing with a sense of foreboding and palpable
tension from the first scene.The emotions of Layne and Sam change
throughout the book as they start to discover more about each other,
this is what made this book exceptional.The complex characters may
be flawed at times but that's what gave them strength to endure what
ever evil they faced together.There was so much depth with many
layers and the authors did a great job of slowly revealing each layer.
Layne Zhao is the leading scientist working on the Omega project,a
project that could find a cure for disease.When she is kidnapped and
her lab destroyed by Sam,she fears for her life's work.Sam may have
destroyed the building,but he still has the important data.Sam needs to calm
his wolf and not let darkness take over.Its up to Sam to convince Layne
that the project she has been working on is highly dangerous and illegal.
The attraction between them is bittersweet,neither of them can afford any
complications in their lives.Working together with a bunch of misfits,they
go after and plan to destroy the evil Dr Smyth.The plot includes danger,
intrigue,mystery,danger,evil,fighting shifters and romance.Another great
read in this series.

As usual, any book involving the winning writing duo of Lee Savino and Renee Rose are
the BEST!
This book, has it all, mystery, suspense, lab testing on living beings for nefarious ends.
Love does bloom as Sam breaks into Data X to steal then destroy the testing of Shifters
in the lab that Layne has poured her whole life and soul into the research to help cure
many human diseases including the one that took her mother's life. As all hell breaks
loose, Sam ends up taking the head scientist, Layne, hostage.
There are a variety of shifters that are involved in the task of ridding themselves of the
wicked men like Don Santiago who are testing and torturing the shifters via their research
to control shifters to make a master race that can fight their wars.
The close confines of Sam and his abductee Layne, prove to be more than either of them
can resist, the attraction between them is strong.
Yes, there is steaming hot sex between the two and a lot of mystery involved.
In the end we got a great story, adventure, suspense, love and understanding along
with Lions and Tigers, Warewolves and an Owl to keep up the action.
Thank you for another winning Shifter adventure, I look forward to the next
collaboration from these authors.

LOVE this series: Bad, Boy Alphas - An MC Werewolf Romance , LOVE the authors!!! Renee Rose, Lee Savino LOVE this wonderful addition “Alpha’s Obession” book 5 ! We met Sam (a wolf shifter) in the first book of the series, we didn’t learn much about him but we knew his past was not pleasant and he is bent on revenge. Layne is an accomplished, brilliant doctor working to save lives but with a mystery about herself that she doesn’t share but leaves her broken like Sam. Renee Rose and Lee Savino write passionately and tell a beautiful story. One can’t help but love the characters and find the story hard to put down because they write a story filled with danger, mystery, suspense, fast paced, warmth, sexy, sensual scenes and tension. Nice to see Nash again, learn more about him and know his story is next! – Yeah! The chemistry between Sam and Layne is electric and steamy romance follows! Each book is a stand alone romance but if you read them all, you are in for an Amazing experience! Thank you Renee Rose and Lee Savino!!!

I've read the last two 'Alpha's' books and adore the mix of steam, action and intrigue that can be found in them. The plot twists and turns kept me hooked from beginning to end. In fact I was both surprised and saddened to reach the end - I loved reading about Sam and Layne.

Sam is a bad-ass but had such a vulnerable side to him that I just wanted to wrap him in a hug and not let go. He might not be an alpha but he was plenty hot and dominant enough for me. Layne is a super hot nerd-girl, battling to make life better for others. This has led her to some very naive decisions and put her life at risk.

There is just something magical that happens when these two authors combine their writing talents. Though they are not rom-coms the end result is a witty and fun read, with plenty of steamy bedroom/bathroom/hallway action and a cracking good story to boot. I was totally swept up in Layne and Sam's story, enjoyed every page of the book and can't wait for the next one.

Wounded warrior and sexy scientist - HOT STUFF

I haven't been into shifter romance lately, but I was given an ARC of this book, and this is my voluntary and honest opinion: LOVE IT !!! Seriously, Lee Savino and Renee Rose have teamed up for Alpha's Obsession, a fabulous shifter romance with lust, love, action, lies, secrets, illegal genetic experiments, and all kinds of bad behavior (only some of which involves duct tape). The stunningly sexy wolf-shifter hero has PTSD in spades, the seriously geeky heroine morphs into a... NO SPOILERS!! Just do yourself a favor and read Alpha's Obsession (Bad Boy Alphas, Book 5). It's well-written, well edited, exciting and imaginative, and works as a stand-alone. I followed the story easily, and I haven't read the four previous books - an oversight I'm going to correct poste haste.

Alpha's Obsession is another wonderful addition to the Bad Boy Alphas series and a terrific read. Can be read as a standalone but for a deeper, more enjoyable reading experience I'd recommend reading them all and in order. That way you won't miss any juicy details. Sam is a wolf shifter that is bent on vengeance. Layne is a brilliant doctor working hard to discover a breakthrough that will save lives. When their desires bring each other face-to-face, the attraction is instantaneous and the chemistry off the charts. This steamy hot romance is filled with danger, action, humor, sexy spankings, angst, twists and even some shocking revelations. Loved it, highly recommend it and am eager for the next book already! I'm posting an honest, voluntary review after reading an advance copy of this book.

So we get to know a different group of misfits in this novel. It's not the same characters besides Sam. I used the word misfits because they are all different shifters suffering from the same man.
It's like a mad scientist is using these guys to create more madness. I love how Sam is h311 bent of revenge for everything they suffered. He is still just as crazy... Yet he has a tender heart for a certain PhD research lady.
Layne is the leading scientist on the Omega project..... However she has no clue what she is working on or how they get the cells. Layne is swept away by Sam's aggressive nature. They is loads of spankings in her future.
Sam is probably my favorite character from this series so far because of how far he comes with Layne backing him all the way. I'm dying to know what happens next!

An MC Werewolf Romance

Alpha's Obsession is another wonderful addition to the Bad Boy Alphas series and a terrific read. It's well-written, well edited, exciting and imaginative, and works as a stand-alone.

Doctor Layne Zhao is pursuing her goals working as a genetic scientist.

Layne is the innocent, well meaning scientist. Sam is bad A and a dominant male. As they discover each other, their emotions shift as the story progresses. I LOVED that about Alpha's Obsession! It made the book absolutely brilliant!

Renee Rose and Lee Savino are rockin' savage when they collab! They have given us a HOT story with an HEA! You will TOTALLY LOVE THIS BOOK!

A fantastic read
This is book 5 in the series but it can be read as a stand alone. I have fallen in love with this series and I want it to never end! Sam and Layne’s story is so absorbing. I want more! The scenes flow well from one into the next. We learn more about the sinister sub-plot that has been threaded throughout all the books. Layne’s character is interesting and a there’s a big surprise in this story! Sam believes he’s damaged, with nothing to offer a woman. Layne isn’t sure of anything except that she likes the feels that Sam gives her! There are a lot of sexy steamy scenes. I enjoyed reading this book. One-click it you won’t be disappointed.

The pairing of Renee Rose and Lee Savino just keeps getting better with each book! While each book in this series can be read on its own, this series is really better read in order. Sam was first introduced in book one and I knew his story would be an intriguing one. At the time I couldn't imagine a suitable mate for Sam but then I never quite imagined a woman such as Layne! Layne doesn't put up with anyone's nonsense, including Sam's, so she is the perfect match for Sam.
This book had plenty of action, romance and drama. Definitely can't wait for Nash's story, that poor lion has a lot of baggage to work through!

We met Sam in previous books but this could definitely still be read as a standalone.

Layne is the innocent, well meaning scientist caught up in the terrible gene manipulation program. Sam is a broken but brave character that I really warmed to. Their story isn't your usual PNR love story. There's lots of emotions and heartbreak to go with your dose of hot werewolf. Their chemistry was amazing but there was also a definite love story. Great plot twist at the end. I enjoyed this story and feel like this series is getting better with every book - can't wait to read the next book in the series.
