Lilian is forced on this retreat by her boss. Her boss has decided during this trip he was going to further harass Lilian and unknowingly starts in front of Logan. When Logan sees what's happening he steps in to help Lilian. Lilian is grateful and praying she won't need anymore help while she's there. There's rumors circulating about the resort being cursed and then things start happening. Logan is putting out fires left and right when a real one breaks out in the building. He has everyone relocated to a different part of the resort but things continue to happen. When something serious happens and it involves Lilian Logan begins to wonder who can he trust. Can Logan solve the mystery of who or what is causing the problems?

This was a great story and will definitely keep you turning the pages until you have everything you question answered. There quite a few twists and surprises that will draw you into this story. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Logan and Lilian and I'm sure you will too.

Lillian was on a trip to a retreat in Colorado from California. She is trying to move up in the law firm she works at. Her boss Micael is a jerk and keeps trying to come on to her.

She closes herself off in her room intended to work but she knows she has to attend a few tings. That night he corners in on the balcony and a stranger comes up acting like he knows her. They play if off and Michael backs off. Who is this Logan that is a contractor?

Logan feels like he has to protect Lilly from her boss and everyone else. Things start to happen at the retreat, strange things. Everyone but Logan thinks it is the curse of the land and he will die as well.

When Michael is found pushed off the 4th floor everyone thinks it is Lilly but is it? Can Logan protect her and will he believe her story?

A great read with some well developed characters. The story keeps you on your toes and Lilly and Logan get things heated up.

Lilian stared out the window of the plane the company had rented as they flew to the Colorado ski resort to attend a convention. She was not allowed to use electronic equipment on the plane, and she had a ton of work to do! Instead, her boss annoyed her, constantly hitting on her and calling her “Lily” when she asked him to use her given name. He thought he was being sexy, but he was obnoxious and made her skin crawl. At the dinner in the lodge, he came on to her again. She slipped out the door to a patio, upset that he would not leave her alone.

Logan had stayed late to work on a construction problem and noticed a woman on the patio, shivering. A man came out and he saw her look of disgust. The man grabbed her and he could see she was repulsed. So he walked up and pretended to be an old friend, delighted to see her again and eager to catch up on what each had been doing. Michael tried to snatch her away, but Logan insisted she stay and talk. Michael went back inside. Lilian was so grateful for his intervention.

The next day, Michael approached Logan to tell him to get away from “Lily” since he had plans for her for the week. To protect her again, Logan told him they never officially broke up. When he told Lilian, they agreed to pretend to be seeing each other again. They made sure Michael saw them hugging. But later when Logan had loaded logs onto the truck, someone cut the chain and almost killed him when the logs rolled off. Then he got a visit from a fired board member threatening him for a share of the money. Bad things were coming from all directions! Could he continue to protect Lilian? Would he find out who was trying to kill him? Would Richard, the fired man who threatened him, carry out those threats?

This was an excellent book with lots of suspense and a story line loaded with twists and turns. You never knew where it was heading next! The characters were well defined. Logan and Lilian were strong characters who worked hard to get where they were. The reader could really care about what happened, which made for a real page-turner! Get your copy and enjoy this well written story! I received this copy from Booksprout and my comments reflect my honest opinion.

Is The Resort Really Cursed?
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Lilian [never answers to Lily so don't even try!] works at Rose & Rose Solicitors and she and her co-workers are all at a resort in Colorado to network. She wouldn't mind except Micheal, her boss, is a lecherous creep who won't take NO for an answer and won't keep his hands to himself no matter how hard she tells him 'NO!'. She meets Logan, the supposed 'handyman' of the resort when he comes to her aid when Michael tries backing her into a deserted corner to physically assault her. Logan and Lilian pretend to be close friends that have never broken up to try and persuade Michael to leave her alone but, unfortunately, he is persistent.  Things start happening around the resort like murder, fires breaking out, someone trying to kill Logan and so on.  Amidst all this there is a growing attraction between Logan and Lilian that is ready to spontaneously combust.  The passionate love scenes that Sienna Chance writes will have you reaching to switch on your fans and you may need a cool drink to take out the heat.  They are so well written as are her character descriptions and the storyline is something else!  This is not just a romance.  It is so much more!  With people beginning to point their fingers at Lilian as being the one responsible for the  murder and occurrences Logan knows that he needs to find out what is really going on.  When Lilian finally tells Logan her secret, towards the end of the story, their relationship can deepen and blossom.  This is a fast paced suspenseful romance that kept me turning page after page as I had to know what was really going on and who was behind it all.  To find out you're going to need to get yourself a copy of this book and enjoy having the mystery solved.  I really enjoyed this story and hope that you will too.

DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED

Badly written rubbish. The story was so stupid, it was like something a teenager would write, with all its teenaged angst and immature deama, and unpleasant behaviour by the characters. Especially the horrible heroine who's like a spoiled, teenage brat who doesnt know how to behave or act, control her emotions, or behave in anyway like a grownup.

The writing ability is terrible I wondered if this and the previous book I just read, Kept by the mountain man, were written by the same author under a pen name because they both had exactly the same basic writing, a list style, with the same limited vocabulary, and a very stupid, juvenile story, with juvenile characters.

They both even had the same cover/guy. It wasn't enjoyable to read the poor writing and the unpleasant. Here's an example of the list of "I" sentences on just one page-
I was quiet at dinner...
I was tempted to go upstairs...
I knew I should go...
I worked well with other people.
I hoped that Michael would take notice of the way
I worked and spread the news to the other partners at the firm.
I went into the ballroom..
I searched desperately for Marilyn..
I made my way over to the bar.
I peeked over my shoulder...
I ordered a glass of wine and downed it..
I spent my time watching people...
I might want to talk to later...
I recognized from various cases...
I knew they were the people I wanted to start with.
I could learn the most from...
I was desperate to do in order to move up..
I felt a shudder run through me and turned around to see Michael.
I could tell he was drunk..
I said my standard answer.
I never wanted him....

That's all from just one page. Gave up before 25%, because the basic writing, immature characters and ridiculously stupid, teenage melodrama story was boring and cringing, and the characters were so immature it all made for very unpleasant reading. Would never read this so called author again.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This was a good story with a little suspense and some twists. I was expecting a typical love story and was pleasantly surprised. This book was about Lillian, (Lily), a young lawyer who went on a company retreat to a lodge in the mountains. Lily was a loner in the company and just wanted to work hard and advance her career. Her boss Michael keeps making passes at Lily and she politely declines his advances. On the first night, Lily goes outside to get some air and Michael follows her. Michael tries to force her to go with him and The handyman, Logan, sees this when he was working outside. Logan decides to help her and he approaches like he knows her and they are together. Logan apologizes for being late meeting her and introduces himself to Michael as a friend of Lily's. Lily was grateful and plays along. Logan and Lily decide to spend some time together to keep Michael away. As Lily and Logan get closer, they develop a friendship with an attraction to each other. Logan also is facing strange happenings around the lodge and mountain. There are some threats to Lily, which she thinks is Michael being jealous. This turns into a mystery and you really don't know what is really going on. The chemistry between Lily and Logan is explosive and they can't stay away from each other, despite both having secrets that could destroy their relationship. I really liked this book and I am looking forward to reading more from Sienna.

I really enjoyed this story. The characters had great chemistry. The story has enough suspense and romance to keep me interested.
Lillian is stuck going on a corporate retreat with several coworkers and her creepy boss. He keeps trying to hit in her no matter how many times she drops hints she isn't interested. During the opening of the event, she needs to get away, so she heads for the gardens to get some air. Logan is a construction worker at the retreat, and feels for Lillian when, Michael, her boss comes out and starts his crap again. Logan steps in and pretends that he and Lily know each other from before. Lillian, aka Lily decides to play along. But the chemistry is off the charts. After deciding to spend the day skiing, Lily finds herself thrown for a loop when she trips and falls down the hill and hits her head plus cuts up her leg bad. Logan takes care of her and offers to keep her awake for the required time. Things keep getting crazy around them, a chain is cut almost killing Logan, a mystery person tackles Lily in the snow, carvings are cut into the logs that almost smashed Logan, Michael falls to his death, a fire is set in the retreat, a guy who works with Logan goes missing and Lily runs into a ghost in the basement.
Who is causing all the problems and why? Is it the curse or is there a trouble brewing of another sort? What's going to happen to Lily and Logan, I hope the can survive all the crap to have a happy ever after. Hint.

The story travels by unwinding the mystery as who is behind the life of Logan, how the pretending relationship moves more than just pretending into intense hot and steamy romance between Logan and Lilian, and how a construction guy and the lawyer get together for lifetime with twist and turns of events. This book is a well written with amazing storyline.

I have read this book as an ARC reader. This is my freely given review.
You better get ready to read for awhile, because once you start you won't be able to put this book down!
Sienna Chase has written an amazing book, that has more twists and turns, ups and downs than a rollercoster!
Lilian is a lawyer that has come to a retreat in mountains.
Logan is in construction and a lumberjack.
On the first evening that Lilian arrives, her boss makes some unacceptable moves on her, when she is alone on a  balcony. Logan stops and looks at her, then sees what her boss is doing. He goes over to Lilian and pretends that he has known her for years, giving her an escape that she badly needed. The fire starts there and it never stops.
In a strongly woven pattern, that only a true talent can weave, things start happening. Serious things. Deadly things. Things that go bump in the night.
Enjoy this edge of your seat thrilling romance, where you never know what will happen next!

Mountain Lumberjack
by Sienna Chance
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It seems like a relaxing and beautiful retreat. But, whatever is going on there is anything but relaxing or beautiful. There's a curse on the retreat, some people believe it, others, like Logan Mitchells, do not. Is it all because of Lilian Jackson? All her co-workers seem to think she started things by killing her boss, Michael. Micheal, the leach who wouldn't leave her alone. Logan, the maintenance man (among other things), keeps finding blood and/or dead animals in the snow. Even with all this happening, Logan and Lily still hook up. Lily says she wants to forget about the Retreat and never see Logan again. But, the police say she has to stay, they might have to question her more. Finding out what's going on and who can be trusted is rather compelling. It takes you to the very end to solve the mixed up mysteries. Very good read!

Mountain Lumberjack is a sexy, feel-filled cocktail with a mystery/suspense twist. Sienna Chance does a great job creating likable characters (though Lilian is a wee bit pig headed toward Logan at times) with believable dialog and a story that develops with all kinds of twists. Logan and Lilian share a connection from the minute he rescues her from her lecherous boss. Through all of her struggles to avoid the connection, their chemistry is combustible. While Logan works to prove to Lilian that they have something together, he has to protect her and the retreat from unknown forces. This book is engaging, steamy, suspenseful and full of feels. The dynamics between the main characters is enough to make this a good read. Doing such a good job incorporating the suspense/mystery element and having the story unfold smoothly make this a must read. The great HEA is the icing on the cake.

Sienna Chance has done it again with this book it’s fantastic and has the wow factor going on. Lilian has been forced by her boss to go to a resort, he starts coming onto her but she rejects his advances. Logan is a sexy Lumberjack who is out side and overhears Lilian’s boss going off at her and giving her a hard time so Logan steps in and saves Lilian from her abusive boss. They are instantly attracted to each other but Lilian pushes him away. There are rumours going around the resort that it’s cursed, terrible things start happening and Logan wants to find out what’s going on, but Logan finds out that Lilian knows something about what’s happening but she is holding back from telling him. Fantastic read and a bit of mystery and suspense thrown in makes it a whole new kind of novel for Sienna. Great characters and storyline. I highly recommend this book it’s well worth the read.

A short suspense story. Lilian is a low ranking lawyer trying to move up in the company. Michael her boss has the hots for her and makes her go on this retreat convention. When at the retreat she runs into Logan and they start acting as old friends to get Michael to leave her alone. Logan has other problems at the retreat the previous owner who was kicked off the board is giving Logan trouble, because he wants his money back. Then there is this Ghost story that all his workers believe in that he has trouble keeping them focused. Lilian tries to hide her feelings for Logan but can't. What is causing all these accidents at the retreat? Can Logan and Lilian have a relationship or will she keep fighting it? I do think some of the sex scene could have been done a little better. I received an arc copy for my honest review.

This was a very intriguing story and loved all of the characters. You have Lilian who is a lawyer with a small complex issue and very indecisive when it comes to romp and play. Then you have Logan, fit, determined and a mastermind of pleasure. What do you get when you put the two of them together, CHAOS, in a few ways. A former owner of the retreat is causing a bit of mayhem and creating what seems to be a what others call the "Curse." Of course Logan nixes that theory, but how can you nix it when someone you hire just vanishes, and all the issues happening cannot be accounted for. You really need to read this book. It is full of suspense and thrills, as well as hot romance and deceit.

Very well written short story with great storyline and plot. Full of expanse and hotness. I like that the characters Lilly and Logan are relatable and likeable. It has a nice pace to it. I like the main characters and how they develop. The story flows nicely and it is very captivating from first to last chapter. It surprised me sometimes with the twists. It has emotional ups and downs.

It is written in dual POV which gives the reader much more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. Great romance with a twist and very enjoyable read. I would have loved an epilogue to finish the story. Lots of chemistry in this amazing story.

The author has delivered a story that is worth the read!

Logan, you've got yourself a haunted hotel-- resort-- whatever. It's a puzzle.
Who are all these people and what did you do do deserve this?

Will the real villain please stand up?
Well, never mind. Nobody's perfect in this one.

And somebody's a murderer-- Maybe there's more than one!
Well, it can't be Lillian... can it?
She's making you a little crazy, running hot (HOT) and cold... then Hot again....
Never mind. You're a goner-- well I mean, at least your heart is.

There were a few places in this book where the credibility gap was too wide to cross. But, it was fun to watch the hapless hero and the not-so-helpless heroine muddle through the maze and find each other.
Bottom line: 4 stars.

This book is a very fast read. It grabs the readers attention from the beginning.Lily and Logan's characters are well developed. I love how sweet and kind Logan was. He had the brawny with brains. He was an alpha male without needing to prove it. Lily took me a little bit longer to figure out. There were times that I just wanted to either shake her or leave her alone. The chemistry between the two is off the charts.

There are many twists and turns in this story. It does keep you guessing. At one point I thought I had it figured out but then found out wrong. There are other characters in this book that helped make it what it is. So enjoy.

I loved this book from the start. The chemistry between Lilian and Logan was smoking and so much fun. After Logan saves her from an awkward situation with her boss, Michael, it seems like smooth sailing for Lilian and Logan. However, when Michael is killed and Lilian is the main suspect she refuses to cooperate. To me, she became a bit strange and suspicious, telling lies and keeping secrets. The suspense, murder and carnage was really captivating. My heart went out to Logan and all the mixed signals he had to decipher. I was also very surprised with the ending and her new friendship. If you like murder mysteries and romance, this book is for you. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This was a good steamy romance, with an intrigue suspense plot surrounding the curse at the retreat resort.

I enjoyed the lead character Logan, but Lily’s actions were sometimes confusing, but I expected that to be explained as the underlying mystery was revealed!!

Unfortunately there were still a lot of outstanding questions for me, and therefore some unexplained behaviour.

It was a nice romance, with enough spice to keep in interesting, but the mystery was resolved so quickly that the ending felt rushed and not fully explained.

What a way for a super annoying situation to quickly become something much more interesting. Lilian they have been trying to avoid her obnoxious boss, but Logan quickly becomes apparent as the antithesis of the jerk. The pair are forced by circumstance into a fake relationship, but what's anything but fabricated is the chemistry they have. There are some real scum balls, but the main duo is always charming and I love rooting for them. The twists come but I enjoyed every moment. No spoilers, but I will say that occasionally life is fair. This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.

This book is so good! It's very well written and the characters are so well developed that you almost hate to finish it. Lilian is an up and coming lawyer with a slimy jerk for a boss. Logan witnesses an awkward encounter between them and comes to her rescue. They are attracted to each other right from the start and the heat is blistering hot. But beyond the romance is a plotline that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. I can tell this is going to be a book that's I read over and over and enjoy it every time. 💓

Reading this was amazing. I could not get enough of this book. I would categorize this as a mystery romance. Lilian and Logan embark on a rather interesting adventure together. Lilian is attending a retreat that Logan runs. Logan continually comes to Lilian's rescue. Strange things start to happen around the retreat and it is up to Lilian and Logan to figure out who or what keeps sabotaging things at the resort. This book just keeps you guessing until the very end. It is extremely well thought out and written. Would definitely read it again. I really enjoyed this book. Well written and I think the pacing was good. Lily and Logan fit together and they were fire in bed. The bedroom scenes were scorching hot! The story is overall good but there were times I was slightly confused. I did figure out parts of the mystery ahead of time but not all. The build up and overall feeling of tension and suspense was created wonderfully and the main characters I was rooting for. Overall a good short read with good suspense/mystery and super hot steamy fun. I’d definitely recommend..

Sexy lumberjack Logan rescues Lily from the clutches of her horrible boss whom has been making unwanted passes at her.
Lily is a lawyer and is new to the firm. Logan being the good man he is sees her in distress and takes matters into his hands. Let me tell you l liked this story from the start and I can't say that about every book I read.

Now someone is trying to sabotage Logan is it someone from his past or is it Lily's arrogant boss. Someone is also after Lily. So a little bit of suspense and maybe a murder so some mystery too with a lot of steam all rolled into one. I give this story five stars.

Mountain getaway..

A retreat at a mountain resort sounds peaceful doesn't it? Not this one. Is the resort really cursed? Are there really ghosts? Besides ghosts and curses, neither which he believes in, Logan now has to worry if he is falling for a murderer. I enjoyed this story a lot. Logan was a great character and his chemistry with Lilian could start a fire. My only issue was Lilian. I felt like she was a little self-centered and cold.
