"Tommy O'Tom was taking a bath, when in walked a hippo and then a giraffe..." In this charming bedtime read-aloud, written by JTK Belle in a laugh out-loud, rhythmic text, and beautifully-illustrated by Mike Motz, a bathtub full of mischievous zoo animals does their best to thwart Tommy O'Tom's bedtime preparations, and leave him to explain a bathroom mess to his puzzled mother. Recommended for ages 2-5.
I want to thank J.T.K Belle, authors and Goodreads First Reads for the eBook copy of Tommy O'Tom in a Tub O'Trouble that I won in the Giveaway.
Tommy take a bath and has all his animal friends join him from the zoo. They make a giant mess and when mom comes in the bathroom door the animals magically disappear. My preschool children were delighted with this book and wanted to hear it again three times, which means they really enjoyed it. Tommy O'Tom in a Tub O'Trouble is a great book for preschool children that they can relate to their everyday lives and enjoy.
Wow. I like this book it was funny, I kept laughing at all the animals who came in the tub without Tommy his mommy founding out. I wish this book was in print form. Me and my siblings read this book three times because it was really funny.
Thanks to Goodreads Giveaways, I had the opportunity to become acquainted with the author and this lovely book! Tommy is a little boy who loves animals - and invites them to share his bath with him! The text is charming and funny, and the illustrations are very well done. This would be a great read for that little one who does not want to take a bath!
I've added J.T.K. Belle to my author list and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of his books. Can't wait to give "A Tub of O'Trouble" to my youngest grandson!
I received this in a goodreads giveaway. Thank you J.T.K. Belle . I read this with my grandson. We both are animal lovers and really enjoyed this book..
This books is a cute read . My 6 year old liked the book a lot we read it together 5 times. The illustrations are really well done. It’s a great book for early readers and great book for bedtime. Just right to snuggly up with your little one to read together. Thanks to goodreads , author, and publisher for the chance to read this book.
I’d actually won a KINDLE copy of this book from the author’s recent giveaway on GoodReads, and the following is my honest opinion.
I loved having my inner-child read this charming book of a little boy named Tommy allowing his imagination to run wild as he’s taking his bath before going to bed. Mothers would love reading this Pre-K picture book to their children; boys would probably laugh since they’re always playing somewhat wildly with their bath toys as they take their baths and making a little mess of their own, girls would probably laugh hearing how messy boys can be playing with their toys while they quietly play with theirs.
Rhyming books tend to keep their young reader’s/listener’s attention far longer than regular stories, I should know because I couldn’t stop reading any Dr. Seuss book as a young child.
While this book had been written as a joint-cooperation by the author and his two children, the beautiful illustrations were drawn with the help of the illustrator and his imaginative inner-child.
For having given their very young readers this book, I happy to given them 5 STARS.
Tommy O’Tom has a vivid imagination. During his bath time he is joined by a hippo, giraffe, flamingo, elephant, and a zebra. As his mother tries to encourage him to finish his bath, Tommy O’Tom manages to make a huge mess in the bathroom. But when he tries to blame the animals they are all gone! The illustrations are very cute and my preschool class loved the story. We were able to have plenty of good conversation throughout the book and the children were very engaged in the story. Bath time is very relatable and usually a fun experience. I would recommend this book as a great addition to every library! I received this Kindle book as a giveaway through Goodreads.
Thank you Goodreads Giveways and J.T.K. Belle for the fun & silly eBook. My grandsons (ages: 4 & 7) and I (age: 57), enjoyed the story and the installations! :)
My niece and the younger children enjoyed this book. I thought this was a cute little book for children 7 and younger. This was funny and will have the children laughing not only the children but adults too.
Seattle, Washington author(s) J.T.K. Belle is actually a family project with Jeff and his two children Tommy and Katie. The story and idea is greatly enhanced with illustrations by Mike Motz. The simple yet involving tale is told in rhyming verse and represents the rigors of preparing for bed – with a lots of twists of fine humor.
Tommy O’Tom is bathing and is interrupted by a hippopotamus and a giraffe who climb right n and splash water everywhere. Enter a flamingo who wishes to share the water bath followed by a zebra and elephant who all complicate Tommy’s need to finish his pre-bed bath and respond to his calling mother. The bathroom is a mess because of all the animal games so that when Tommy’s mother opens the door and sees the mess, Tommy can only offer his explanation that it is the fault of the animas – of course now unseen!
This is one delightful story that will please all children – especially those who like to fudge excuses for behavior….A terrific little bedtime story wonderfully written and illustrated.
We thought this was a cute book. I probably should knock off a star for the ultimate message (that it is ok to blame other's for your mess), but since it would be easy to talk about this together after reading, I decided not to. I liked how each picture stayed mostly the same with only subtle changes that were fun to find and point out. Short and simple, but would be willing to re-read when asked.
I’ve read thousands of children’s books and the better the rhythm the easier they are to read ( ask Dr.Seuss). The pictures were cute but a mom reading out loud to her child will start out with a familiar rhyming meter but it is inconsistent in the middle and toward the end. I didn’t enjoy the book. I even went back and read it out loud again myself and it was rough.
As always, cute and catchy with clever illustrations, from JTK Belle. Kids love the animal illustrations and the mounting tension as the bathroom gets messier and messier. I love Tommy O'Tom's facial expressions and that the mom doesn't lose her mind at the end. Looking forward to the next book from this author already!
We had the pleasure of getting the Kindle version of this book through GoodReads FirstReads program.
It was a cute story of a boy named Tommy O’Tom who had the most adventurous bath with nearly the entire zoo, which is of course the reason he made such a mess.
Cute illustrations and easy to read storyline for kids. Both my son and I enjoyed this read.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher for my unbiased opinion of the book. This was a cute story, however, there should have been repercussions for his actions. Instead of just shrugging his shoulders. Maybe have all the animals help him clean up the mess he created and understand by causing this mess how not to let it get out of hand in the future.
My grandson and I enjoyed reading this. It was the first Kindle edition book I read to him and he responded to it as a printed copy. Very nice pictures that gave not only images of the story but additional items for discussion. it was a fun story with a moral that things aren't always as they seem in the end.
This is a cute, colorful story book. A great story about bath time. Great illustrations. I do wish the words were a little bigger on the page. The kindle app doesn't allow to zoom in one type of big.
I received through a Goodreads Giveaway. It is a rhyming book with fun on every page. Perfect for young children and adults who've ever found themselves in a similar situation!
