250 feet below the soil in a dark mysterious cave lurks something so vicious, so wicked, no one has lived to tell the tale. That's until Christy, a independent Journalist is hired to do an article on some of the most scariest places in Arizona. After much research she finds the perfect place. A haunted Cavern located deep in the Arizona mountains. Far from any city, miles from the nearest town. Where no one can hear the ear piercing screams of six people who decide to venture down where sun light does not exist. Where not even a bat will dare close his eyes. What lurks in the darkness is not human but not quite dead.
Kathy Dinisi is an Amazon Best seller and a Award winning author. She lives in California with her husband and two boys. When she is not writing a horror story or two she is riding her horses or hiking with her family.
Another wonderfully scary story by Ms. Dinisi! This book grabs the reader from the very first page and never lets go. Horrifically spooky, full of thrills, scares and horrors.
Then, just when you think that you have reached the end.......WHAM! Ms. Dinisi throws a real kink into the book. Absolutely unexpected ending. And, I don't know which is more horrifying, the events in the Caverns or the ending of the book!
I hope that Ms. Dinisi continues to write for a very, very long time. Her imagination never disappoints and her books are always a thrilling rollercoaster ride!
This had to be one of the worse books I have read in a long time. The premise is that a journalist and her friend go to Arizona to check out a haunted cavern, and all sorts of terrible things happen, or do they? Is it really just in Christy's head?
Everything is wrong with this book...capitalization, punctuation, spelling, missing words, sentences that make no sense...need I go on? Do NOT read this book!
This is quite literally the worst horror novel I have ever read. I am genuinely baffled by all the high reviews. This book reads like a badly written middle school essay, filled with grammatical errors and mediocre writing that has no flow. This is proof that literally anyone can release a book these days.
A young journalist Christy is just trying to get by and pay the bills when she is offered a job covering a haunted hotel all experiences paid. Not wanting to make the long trip alone Christy ask her best friend Christina to go with her.
Upon arriving at the hotel Christy starts to hear things that others don’t seem to be hearing. Voices telling her to Run! Christy thinks the voices are just her imagination playing tricks on her because the hotel is supposed to be haunted so she ignores them and goes into the hotel anyway.
Once Christy, Christina and the hand full of people who signed up to spend a night of horrifying nightmares in a haunted hotel enter the caverns they then proceed to make their way deep into the cave hoping to see a few friendly ghost but what they do see is something far more than anything their imagination could ever come up with. There is something so sinister and terrify deep inside the caves that no human mind can comprehend.
The Caverns had me from the first word and pulled me into the depths of its terrifying world making me feel as if I was inside that cave with Christy and Christina as they fought with the ghosts trying to make their way out alive not knowing if they would or not. The suspense of the story had me on the edge of my seat as Christy tried to make her way out.
I could just see the look on her face as everything went down it was like I was seeing it all happen through her eyes this is why I love Kathy’s writing so much is because it is like I am seeing the world through the characters eyes or her eyes. I just love her writing style it is superb. Her stories are filled with action and suspense from the beginning which is what keeps those pages turning oh and not to mention all the twists on top of it.
The Caverns like all of Kathy’s books is a fast paced read and once I pick up one of her books there is no way I can ever lay them down until I have turned the last page. I can’t wait to dive into another one of her books.
I highly, highly recommend The Caverns to all horror, haunting and ghost fans.
Wow! Definitely a must read! This is one creepy book. Very intriguing from beginning to end. You are left like what?! Really?! I was completely at the edge of my seat and can say that I definitely and honestly recommend if you enjoy horror books then this is the right one for you. You won’t be disappointed. Christy is a journalist and she if offered a job to write a paper of haunted motels all paid for. so hey, why not? She needs the money and can’t pass the opportunity up. She goes on the trip with her best friend and on the road to nowhere they finally get to their destination but she starts freaking out even way before entering the motel. She is hearing and seeing unnatural things, but she still continues to walk the path to the motel.... finally when inside the cavern with a selected few that had signed up for the night sleepover. Once inside all goes to shit and they are running for their lives and trying to find a way out.... like I said this story will keep you on edge and at the end you will be left confused but overall it had me good and hooked. Happy reading!
Awesome book. Just got a couple days ago. I started reading this book and it sucked me right in. Wow ! The horror in this book is awesome. This was the first book I've read by this author and let me tell u I can't wait to read her other books. If you love horror this book is for you.
I have read many books by Kathy Dinisi and I must say that this has been the BEST book that I have read by her. Where do I begin with this review? Hum...well it was written so well that I was scared to walk to bathroom in the dark. I can't not remember reading ANY book in the last 10 years that freaked me out. The main character Christy is headed to a Cavern in Arizona off of Rt. 66. She is a freelance journalist and was given a job to go to The Caverns and while she needs money to pay her bills she can't say No. She asks her best friend Christina to take the long drive to these Caverns. They take the long and hot drive to a very secluded and eerie destination. Right from the start the creepiness of the rest of the book begins. The descriptions Ms. Dinisi portrayed of what Christy felt and seen outside and inside of the Caverns gave me chills. I was so consumed with this story I was actually speaking out loud to Christy while reading. I think this is an Awesome and amazing Read!!! Thank you!!!
This is absolutely my favorite book by Kathy so far! I started it at 4:00 a.m. this morning, read an hour had to go to bed. However, I really didn't want to put it down. I finished it today through cooking etc. in two hours. The theory that caught my attention first was the thought of spending the night under over two hundred feet under ground in a "hotel". Poor Christy is a writer for a magazine and barely surviving. She writes about haunted places and finds out about the caverns. She invites her best friend Christina to come along. it flies through so many horrific things unimaginable. Do yourself a favor and get this book!
Christy is on her way to writing a review and experience article on the haunted Caverns in Arizona. On a trip of a lifetime, she’s in for more then she ever expected. With a night that’s supposed to be fun and new experiences to be made turns into disaster, Christy and her friend hope to make it out alive or die trying.
With plenty of creative imagery, the Author gives us plenty to imagine in our worst nightmares with gore, and haunting creatures of the night.
You won’t want to miss this horror story that grips and chills you to the end. Even with a twist you may not expect.
I was very kindly offered an ARC in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. I have given it 4 stars.
After reading the blurb I couldn't wait to dive in to what promised to be a creepy tale!
I started this book quite late at night and Kathy Dinisi created such a tense and creepy atmosphere that I had to to put it down before anything had actually happened, for fear I wouldn't be able to sleep If I read on any further. The plot was creepy enough to keep me enthralled, I found it a little meh in the middle but them BAM! The author hit us with a twist that I did not see coming one bit! It left me reeling, amazing! Well done!
Well that wasn't what I expected when I started reading it. This is a fantastic story that definitely kept me on my toes throughout. The story kept me gripped to my kindle and flipping those pages until I had read it all in one sitting. I must say I'm loving Kathy Dinisi's writing style as she knows how to write a story that captivated the reader. The Caverns is a fantastic 4 star book that you should download asap.
The Caverns by Kathy Dinisi is a wonderful story. If you love reading a scary or creepy story this one is definately for you. Was not sure what to expect when I opened the story up to read it but you will definately not be disappointed. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading scary and creepy stories.

This story was scary. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and actually found myself shouting at the characters to turn around, run and to "just leave them"....lol. I was so wrapped up in the creepiness of the entire situation that I was not prepared for the ending, never saw it coming and was floored. Great book I loved it!!!
Horrific In a great way. This is a quick read but does not shortchange you on the horror and edge of your seat action that grabs you immediately. Intriguing that these caverns actually exist in Arizona. I must take a trip!

A just read in the light as it is scary. In a deep cave where no-one can hear you scream. Something lies in deep, dark cave but it is not human but it is not unread either. Would you venture insignia cave? Six do and Will they regret it? Follow them and see what is going on in the cave

Oh my. what a great book. this is such a great suspense book. I couldn't stop reading it. Christy is a Journalist that has to do an article on the mysterious and scary places. But there's one place no one's lived to tell about. Can she do it?
OMG!!! WHAT A BOOK!!! It was terrifying...it had me at the edge of my seat the whole entire time. Had my heart beating fast, palm sweating. I was def not expecting that twist at the end. Amazing book!!! I loved every bit of it!❤
wow talk about leaving you on the edge of your seat! she is a reporter and sent to do a report on a cave. six people go down to the horrors below. who will live? read to find out. its not what it seems.
Great book and an excellent twist to the story. I love how she described each character and each monster she scares the hair of your skin. Another 5 stars her way.
The Caverns by Kathy Dinisi. A fantastic read with some great characters. Wow what a twist. Eerie and creepy at the same time.what a twister. Really surprised me with the ending. 4*.
I couldn't put this book down, I was on the edge! Kathy Dinisi has an amazing ability spin a story that you can't let go of. Christy is a struggling journalist who gets an opportunity to right a series about scary/haunted places. Her first assignment The Grand Canyon Caverns. The Cavern Motel is located 210ft underground. Do yourself a favor get this book you'll thank me for suggesting it.
I was not too impressed with the book. The setting of the story has a lot of potential but the story itself was only alright, a bit predictable but still entertaining. What I really disliked about it was the language. Too many spelling mistakes and I think at some point the author even got the names of the protagonist and her friend mixed up.
It is a brilliant story. Creepy, funny and unexpected. Creepy being number one. If you are like me, claustrophobic, then do as I did. Read with hand over your eyes. Or take breaks so you can slow your breathing and heart rate. I give it 4 stars as it could have used a once over for editing purposes. But it is a good, scary, never ever want to go in caves. Also, the end was like OMG!! You’ll never see it coming.
Wow! This grabs you at the beginning and doesn’t let go! Kathy Dinisi has a way to write that sends chills up my spine.., literally! Great characters and a great story to follow!
