Faded Off a Thug is an interesting tale that incorporates elements of multiple cultures and values, while slowly building drama and tension between all of the characters.
Raeya is a 21 year old college student from India. Her parents live in New York, and she goes to the University of Miami. Although she is close to her parents, they could not be farther from her. On the outside, everything seems to be going perfect in her life, but on the inside, trouble is brewing due to some long held secrets that are fighting to come out.
Kyler is a 24 year old bachelor who is living the fast life. He has everything that he could want – money, respect, and a slew of beautiful women at his disposal. Then he meets Raeya, and his lift begins to take a number of interesting turns.
This was a great book. I liked how the author intersected the various cultures of the characters and tried to shed light on the different issues that people face when interacting with someone who is different from them. I also loved how the author left the story off with a true sense of suspense. I’m looking forward to seeing what the next book will bring!
This book took me through so many emotions. I was laughing, upset and sad. It was crazy how Raeya and her best friend/fiancé Devansh had to deal with from their parents. I liked Simone and Chinaa they were some true friends to have. Monte was a mess and so was Kyler at times. Tasha was a hot mess and got her whole but handed to her🤣 Tera needed to get her life also. What happened to Devansh really had me teary eyed😩 It’s so much to say about this book. Just one click you definitely won’t be disappointed 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This was a really good read. I enjoyed watching the couples grow together. Raeya had to realize that she needed to live her life for her and not her parents and Kyler was the perfect man to show her. Simone had many trust issues and I was glad to see Chris stick by her side. Monte and Chinaa seemed like they weren’t going to get it together, but love conquers all. I would recommend this book.
Ok so I must confess this was my second time reading this book I am a very big Thai fan I love all her work. I loved the relationship and bounds these friends had with each other I would of love for there to be more to the story or for a update story (hint ) lol but as always if you looking for a fast pace action pack book check my girl out.
I read this when it was a series, I loved it then and I love it more now. I have read eveyone of Thai's books and she never disappoints. Raeya and Kyler are one of my favorite couples.
I liked it! Good story funny moments emotional moments. All the couples were so cute in their own way out of everyone Chris is my favorite actually lol
I utterly enjoyed the fact that this short Street Lit wasn't the average. Having multiple cultures was refreshing and having women with multiple and different characteristics. It was interesting reading about Rae and her Indian traditions and being able to understand that the simple things that we Americans take for granted like dating, going off to college and simply being able to choose our own spouse's and careers are a huge deal in other cultures. I also thought that the relationship between Rae and Devanshe was pretty cool !! It showed the struggle that happens daily and in the end how the new generation has to stand up and help rectify and change old traditions. Overall it was sad that his parents chose to disown him and Rae, but I am hoping that in the next book, he and Rae's parents will grow to become more accepting. Watching Rae grow into a more relaxed character was very fun and exciting. I couldn't believe how things went down. Loved how Rae's friends, Chinaa and Simone had her back to the fullest even going as far as to fight her battles. The only thing that disappointed me was how rude Kyler was to Rae... he didn't come off as a Thug, he came off as rude butt head. I was also upset that he wasn't patient enough even after she told him about her complicated situation. It's his loss though. From the way he was explained in the book, he was cute but not THAT cute. I can say overall, this book wasn't at all what I expected and it was a very pleasant surprise. It was shorter than expected, but worth every minute of my time. This story could go many places, book 2 should be explosive, specially since Rae has came out of her shell a little, and judging by the way this book ended... This was a great introduction to this series.
The title was so fitting for this storyline no doubt a good read by too short can't wait for more. Raeya is hiding secrets from her parents because she doesn't want to defy their religion so she lies. Raeya and her friends Chinaa and Simone are her rock but meeting Kyler she falls quick. Kyler and Rae together is complicated but they try to make it work. Simone doesn't want Rae with her brother but she has her back. Chinaa is seeing kyler right hand monte. Rae finally faces her parents but now she bigger issues with kyler. Can't wait to see how everything unfolds.
This book was really good. It was different from others and held my attention from the first page to the last. Rae was green to everything yet she was feisty and had a sharp tongue. I loved how she was from India and tried to respect her culture and religion, but all that was put to a test when Kyler comes along. Kyler does no playing and he is a bit bipolar but under that tuff exterior he really likes Rae. With her situation and Ky feeling like a side piece I am anxious to see what will happen. Please don't keep me waiting long for the next installment.
I absolutely loved this book. Rae had an innocence that was so cute. It took someone like Kyler to come along and totally disrupt her world. She has some true friends in Chinaa and Simone. They always had her back. I'm curious to see where things are going to go from here.
This was a good read! It was different from the typical thug love stories. The storyline is great...I like how it highlights the Indian culture as many may really experience that in their lives. To me, ky is still a bit immature and should have been a little more understanding to Raeya's situation ...but it is what it is! Good job!
I hate how Raeya lived her like according to how her parents felt was best...when she finally told them the real I was happy for her, It seems like Kyler couldn't leave that chic Tasha alone but get mad about Rae talking to any other man...I like Simone and Chinaa they are real friends, I also like Kyler right hand he seems like he's really feeling Chinaa...
The story line is good so far..... for a relaxing day where you don't mind a few typos but enjoy the character's. I am kind of excited to see where they take it... I am happy that this was one of the first books I read read from this genre.
Omg I loved this story Raeya was such a sweet girl but she had a lot going on. I believe Ky has turned her into a bad girl. I can't wait to read part 2 because it's about to get real. Job well done on this story
This book was so good. It was a lot of twist and tales I didn't expect. I can't wait f I r part 2 and I hope everything turns out right for Rae. I never put the book down that's how good it was. Great job Thai!!!
I hope the next book doesn't take 3_4 months to become available. This was a good read, it's not what I expected but I hope the ending is as good as the beginning was! I love when a book is a page turner and this was one for sure.
I loved this story. Left me with my mouth open. Always a great read from Thai. She has become one of my favorite authors. Now how long before we get to read part 2. I'm anxiously waiting
This book was good. Raeya was trying to do what makes her happy but her Indian culture has doing what she was raised to do. Kyler is bipolar to me . How you get mad at Raeya because she is following her culture and religion. The book ended to quick. Need pt2 asap.
I really enjoyed this story! Kyler going to make Raeya go crazy fooling with him! He's so disrespectful but she still wants him even though she's playing hard to get! I can't wait to read the rest of this series and see what's in store for Raeya & Kyler!!!
I can't wait for part 2 to be released. So much drama in Rae's life but I wasn't expecting it to play out like it did and now I need to know what's happens next
