The Scandalous Presidency of Barack Obama

Rate this book
The book that debunks, in compelling detail, the phony media narrative that Barack Obama had a "scandal-free" presidency.

"I'm proud of the fact that [...] we're probably the first administration in modern history that hasn't had a major scandal in the White House."

So President Barack Obama boldly declared before leaving office, and numerous times since. But is it true? Not according to Matt Margolis, bestselling co-author of The Worst President in The Legacy of Barack Obama . Margolis lays out the details of literally dozens of Obama administration scandals that have been ignored, downplayed, or covered-up by the mainstream media. From "Fast and Furious," to the illegal IRS targeting of conservative groups, to the recent NSA spying outrage, Margolis makes a powerful case that the Obama years represented nearly a decade of lawless and abusive governance.
While Obama and his allies attempt to spin the narrative that his presidency represented a time of pristine politics, it's critically important that Americans understand the truth -- Barack Obama brought to Washington corrupt Chicago machine politics of cronyism and corporate payoffs, combined with audacious Alinskyite tactics aimed at dividing Americans and destroying his opponents.

Obama's legacy will be discussed and debated for decades. But in the early months after he left office, more scandals have been uncovered--most notably an illegal scheme of using the NSA to spy on his political opponents and the frightening decision to block the prosecution of Iranian-backed terrorists. Far from being a virtuous New Camelot, the Obama administration abused its power like few others.

I think you need to have been living under a rock or be entirely blind from personality worship to believe that any president's administration, particularly one that lasts two full terms, can be without "scandal". How you define "scandal," of course, is both a subjective and very political matter...

Even though American politics are far removed from my day-to-day, Obama-administration "scandals" have reached the news in Europe, and I've had opportunities to become familiar with some of the backgrounds. On that account, I will agree with the author's premise - there have been "scandals" aplenty; just like there have been and will continue to be during any administration, I'm sure.

Technically, a lot of the issues the author mentions are nothing much to argue about. Biased reporting is a problem. Lying and lack of transparency are problems. All of that is true.

And yet, all this book seems to do is whine. It lacks the necessary objectivity of a political analyst - and in this way does exactly what it bemoans the liberal press does. The author sounds like a sore loser complaining about everything that went wrong in his political life - even though he and "his side" technically won, if that black-and-white perspective is how you see the world.

I think it's a book worth reading, even if - maybe especially if - you're from the other political spectrum. But it's not a good book.

This is a great book written to show the American people that Obama did not have a scandal free presidency one bit as he has stated many times it was scandalous. Time after time, fact after fact, you can not ignore the context in this book. It shows the many crooked deals and scandals that took place during the Obama administration. Matt Margolis wants to make a point to the citizens, "We cannot cover up the truth, although the partisan loyalty may try", history books for further generations should be written according to the truth, not lies. I recommend this book to every person in the United States to read, the truth will be shown through the many scandals covered in this book.

This isn't about Barack Obama as much as it is about an author who supports the most overtly racist President in history writing a book about a black President. Garbage in = garbage out.

Similar to his previous book, Worst President in History. Half the book are notes so the reader can do some research on their own if they wanted to. It’s a quick read with each chapter listing the scandal.
