This is a reprinting of a work first published in 1996, that is widely cited in marine science publications and continues to be in demand in several countries as a teaching text for university courses addressing marine ecosystem dynamics, fisheries oceanography, and climatic effects on marine populations.
I read this book studying for my PhD qualifying exams, and it was one of the most enjoyable "academic" texts I've read. It read more casually than most books of the genre, and I feel as though I really expanded my working and applicable understanding of important dynamics and how they interact with marine populations, especially the early life stages of fish. I will happily reread this.
